Bought American Cherry "B" to redo our kitchen. Did the measurements, transport, and install myself. The cabinets are beautiful and probably a third of the cost of other options I explored. The doors, frames, hinges, and drawer glides are super. While the cabinet boxes are plywood and finished on both sides of the sides, they are not sturdy. They are put together, but in the same fashion as rta cabinets out of box. Usually a couple of screws hold the sides on. There is no way this company would stay in business if it weren't for beautiful product faces and low prices. Customer service is very, very poor. They also have what they have and are not interested in providing what they don't have. Most of my follow-up emails were ignored. So there you have it. Choose your poison. read more

We have used GS supply on three different occasions, two rentals and once in our own house. They did the kitchens and all bathrooms. Each one was finished in about a day or two. Everything fits perfectly, and looks grreat! Jenny was very helpful and accommodating, no problems with last minute changes, or selecting something you like in their show room. The installers work very hard, actually cutting the granite/quartz on site, for a perfect fit. We have had our kitchen for a couple of years now, and everything is functioning perfectly. We shopped around for kitchen cabinets and a granite countertop and selected G&S based on selection, price, and the knowledge & experience of the sales people. I like the fact that you can see what you will get - every cabinet they show on line is displayed in the showroom. It is true that you need to know what you want - but Jenny patiently drew up our plan and tallied the price - yes - on a calculator - twice - quickly and efficiently. And when we came in a second time to say that we had decided to keep the soffits she did it all over again with the new measurements and pricing. When we finally made our selections we met with Boris, who went over the order with us in detail, entered everything on the computer, and printed out in-scale color drawings. This is not the place to go if you are looking for help decorating. Don't expect to see someone at a desk just waiting for you to come in. You'll need to wait your turn, especially early in the morning when you'll find lots of contractors ahead of you. However, if you have a pretty good idea of what you want and are looking for a quality product fairly priced (check out the wood inside instead of the laminate you find in big box stores) you can't go wrong. The installation was professionally done and crew chief Leslie offered some suggestions that we were very pleased with. We have an older home and although the ceiling is not level they were able to balance the cabinets and fit everything where it needed to be. We used some of the backsplash for window sills and the installers polished and finished the edges of all of the granite beautifully. There were a couple of small finishing touches that still needed to happen and although they agreed to send someone out we expected to have to wait a while. They are extremely busy and book out, and we are not located close by (need to take a ferry). However within two weeks they were back and finished every detail completely to our satisfaction. We are delighted with our new kitchen and look forward to a return trip to G&S for bathroom cabinets and countertops. read more

Do not use this company. Their cabinet product is misrepresented in the showroom. Their granite/quartz fabrication quality is HORRIBLE. And, if you want workers on your project who smoke, litter and spit, by all means give them a call! This company does not take accountability for poor craftsmanship; they WILL blow you off if you question them or expect them to fix their poor quality work. Do not be fooled by the positive reviews; they are questionable! If you have low expectations and high budget, great, use them. They'll love your money. Pros - affordable, cheaper than Lowes/Home Depot. Kelvin was very good as a mediator between myself and the contractor. The quartz counter top installation was quick, less than 2 hours between the kitchen and 2 bathrooms. All the work was professionally installed. On time. Cons - Contractors has limited English, so talking to them about the project was not effective. Limited on counter tops selection/choice. They left the work place not very clean. Lead time can be long, several weeks, make sure you are flexible with your time during installation day or installation week as the schedule will change. You will need to come in on the morning of the installation around 9am to pick out your slabs, and make sure it's the right color and texture that you want. Make sure when you get the quote, give them your drawings, and ask about everything, don't assume they will know. You do get what you pay for but it depends on what is really more important to you. read more

We had a great experience with GS! We worked with Mia, who helped us with all of the design challenges with our kitchen remodel. Mia was fantastic to work with! Our kitchen installation was on August 4th. Two crews came - three men to install the cabinets and an hour later four men to install the granite. At least one member from each team spoke English, so it was easy to communicate with them. Six hours later we had our new kitchen cabinets and countertops installed! They were very careful not to damage our home and cleaned up the big debris and trash before they left. We were really impressed with their attention to detail and finishing touches (including sealing the joints of the wood trim, filling and painting over nail holes, adjusting the trim to account for minor unevenness in the floor to ceiling height, placing one long toe kick piece so you can't see the where the cabinets are separate, mitering the trim to fit the angle of our bay window). The quartz is flawless. We will absolutely buy from GS again and wouldn't hesitate to use their contracting crews for installation! Thank you, Mia and crew! We LOVE our new kitchen! read more

Zero customer service. I have had numerous issues with this company so far, here they are- 1. I was working with one of their salesmen on putting my estimate together and called to place the final order. They would not let me place an order with anyone but the salesmen I was working with. When I called, I was transferred to him and put on hold for over 5 minutes, so I hung up. This happened 5 times, the final time I had to ask that they not put me on hold so that I could place my order. Once they finally listened to how many times I had been transferred and just placed on hold, they took my order. 2. I was told I could pick up my cabinets on a specific date. I called to see if they were ready on this date, and the exact same situation stated above happened-I called 3 times and each time was put on hold. One of the times someone answered from their cell phone (to the main line) and said she was not at the store so she could not tell me if my cabinets were ready. My contractor ended up driving down there himself and waited an hour until the order was finalized and picked them up for me. No communication between the company and I-only between my contractor and GS. -Note: They did not even confirm who my contractor was, they just gave him my cabinets. 3. Now is the real annoyance. I also ordered counter tops from GS and planned on having them install these counters. I called to schedule the installation date and they told me they would come at 4pm Saturday. I called back a few minutes later just to ask if they call on their way, which they don't, and then told me they would be there at 12pm instead. --Saturday rolls around and at 3pm I called to confirm whether the actual time they were coming was 12pm (which had since passed) or 4pm. At this time, they tell me they are not in fact coming at all, and will be there Monday at 11am instead. I had to call to figure this out, they did not inform me otherwise beforehand. ---Today is Monday. When the contractors were not here by 11:30am, I called GS to see where they were. At this time, I was told they would be here at 3pm. At this point, I told them it was unexceptable and they needed to get here earlier. Fast forward an hour, 12:30pm the contractors show up. They took measurements, but then told me they had another job they needed to get to so would be back at 6pm. --The contractors came back around 7pm and finished up everything within the hour. 4. GS did not give me the hardware to install the shelving in my cabinets. I called and asked them to give the hardware to the guys that were coming to install the counters, which they did not. So now, I have to drive back to GS, which is an hour from my home, to go pick up the parts I already paid for which I shoud have been given in the first place. I would like to note one thing here-GS sub contracts to those that are installing your counters and cabinets. Jerry, who was my salesmen in this case, tells you what you want to hear rather than the trust. The installers and GS are NOT the same company. Jerry/GS tells you they were be there at xxx time because they want you to be happy and think you are getting quick service. The sub contractors do NOT have a say in what GS tells people. The sub contractors that installed my counter top were actually very nice, and it is too bad I could not communicate directly with them in the first place. It would have been nice for them to tell me from the get go that they could not come till Monday evening. Do not order from this company unless you are fine with zero customer service and waiting for weeks or even months to get your finished product. The only positive is how inexpensive their stuff is. read more

My wife and I had choosen to purchase from GS Supply based on attractive low pricing What a mistake this has been. What appears to be a deal turns out to be a disaster to work with and ends up costing much more. Each sales person prices the product differently and if you are not careful you will not be given the lowest price. Then as what occured with us they did not take care of the problems that came up with the faulty product. They basically did not stand behind the products nor were they willing to help solve their mistakes. When tyring to reach them to solve the issues between the language barrier and the lack of responsibilty with their service you are sort of caught between a rock and a hard place. GS Cabinet and Supply was referred to me by a client of mine who is in the painting and remodel trade. We searched multiple custom cabinetry companies in the Tacoma/Pierce County areas along with Lowe's, Home Depot and Costco. The prices were ridiculous, and one cabinetry firm that we originally decided on in Puyallup went out of business. We found that the sky is the limit for custom all wood cabinetry and the prices reflect such. We found GS Cabinets and Granite to be very reasonably priced for cherry cabinetry that other competitors charge top dollar for. They also did some nice special order options for us included in the price. We worked with Kai and he was very helpful with our basic design and needs. Yes, customer response could be a challenge at times, but if you ever visit their store in Seattle the phones are ringing off the hook. They are not their to "hound" potential customers, and I think their invoice stacks say it all when it comes to business volume. We did not have them install our Shaker Cherry cabinets but had them install the granite. Our contractor thought for the price we paid for the cabinetry and granite the value was very good for the quality. The cabinetry is all wood, and Kai was very good about the extras he provided us and switching out any damaged parts. All in all, you just have to be willing to accept a potential different business model. Our cabinets and countertops look really good, and the one seam that we have in the countertop was blended well. I would give GS Cabinet and Granite a 5 star rating, but what knocks it down a little bit is the fact that we have had some delivery issues. You may find what you think are better built cabinets elsewhere, but GS Cabinet and Supply's cabinets are large European style cabinets with solid soft close hinges and tracks and dovetail drawers. You will pay a small fortune for those features with competitors. read more

Awful experience. Jerry was our sales rep. He did a great job of selling us a $24k job (cabinets/countertops; kitchen and bath)... and then everything fell apart dramatically. 1) When Jerry promised a 2 day install, I was a bit incredulous, and gave him every chance to hedge and request a longer window. Instead, he kept insisting that 2 days would be adequate. In the end, it required 3 days, and this was only after significant pressure from me; his team clearly wanted more time than 3 days. To make this happen, we were promised tow crews. Only one showed up. 2) In fact, on the morning of the installation, Jerry called me to delay the project by several days, because he had zero crews available. The delayed had a cascading effect on our entire project, as we had to reschedule other contractors who were to follow. 3) The single crew showed up each day after 11am, at which point they promptly began their lunch break. 4) When the work was concluded, the crew failed to clean up adequately. I have been removing pieces of granite countertops, and countless cigarette butts, from the outdoor of the property since their departure. 5) Jerry convinced me that square edge counters was the way to go. He described this as the "more modern" look and I deferred to his design judgment. When the team arrived, they installed a rounded edge. When I inquired, they said this is what they were given. This was one of many instances in which their fallback explanation was "this is what the store gave us." When I discussed this with Jerry, he said that he "sold me" on the square option not because of design considerations, but because this was the more expedient option for him. I also learned that they realized the error after loading the round edges on the truck, but were too lazy (and too delayed) to swap out upon this realization. 6) Jerry agreed that the tops would require no support brackets. However, the installers insisted that brackets are required. In fact, they strongly cautioned me not to put much weight on the counters until such supports are installed. Later, Jerry acknowledged that he was guilty of telling me what he assumed I wanted to hear in order to close the sale. He then said that I could find brackets at Home Depot for $5 each. A quick websearch (with Jerry) indicated the cost is actually $55 per bracket. When I explained that I should not have to expend the effort to shop for (nor pay for) the brackets, his boss scrounged around for support brackets that they had in stock, and tried to pawn off on me some brackets that don't even match our floor, cabinets, or countertops. 7) His design was inaccurate, despite the accuracy (as confirmed by the installers) of each of the measurements I provided. Several components could not be installed as designed. As a result, the final cabinet layout has much less storage and functionality than what we had designed, agreed to and paid for. 8) One or two small pieces of the countertops are chipped. 9) The exterior facings of the cabinets do not have a finished look. They look like interior pieces that are not meant to be exposed. It is not sleek and coordinated as in the model in the store. Moreover, the craftsmanship of the install is poor, with lots of exposed nail heads and erratic work. When I raised this issue, after considerable back-and-forth with his colleagues in Chinese, Jerry explained that the exterior pieces no longer match the cabinet faces, and that the model we based our decision on was installed 10 years ago. 10) The crew installed one of the sinks in such a way that it was impossible for my contractor to reinstall the sink until he bought and installed some pieces to create more of a "lip" for the sink to rest upon. 11) The cabinets above the stove were an insufficient depth to accommodate the vent fan. My contractor had to fashion an adjustment to make things fit, at considerable expense in both labor and materials. This would have been avoided had they sent someone to the project site in advance to scope out the needs of the project. 12) The installers told me that whatever discount I negotiate with GS comes from THEIR pocket, even for faults that weren't theirs. There is a glaring lack of coordination and communication between the showroom/salesteam and the installation crew. Jerry agreed with this, and acknowledged that this issue has plagued the business as long as he has been working there. For all of the troubles we faced, he suggested a $100 discount! This was an insulting offer. They had the gall to insist that I pay the small balance before continuing with any repair work whatsoever. The whole post sale negotiation was infuriating. Don't fall for the low prices. Go elsewhere. Awful, shameful experience. This business should be embarrassed. read more

I ordered 3 sets of shower/tub walls (the name of the salesman is Borris) and they installed 2 on the first day, but they broke my plumbing system around the tub costing me another $1800 in repair and I had to break up the just installed quartz walls. Not only they denied any compensation, but also they did not issue me a full refund for the 3rd set! So I ended up loosing $1400 of wall (had to break/remove it) + $1800 repair cost = $3200 (not to mention all the hassles I went through). And now I will have to spend another $1500 to put a new wall (I am going for tiles this time) !!! read more

Very bad customer service. Initial experience was OK, when I was asking for cabinets + countertop and I got a very reasonable quote. Ultimately I decided on another contractor for the cabinets as GS could not customise to what I needed. That's OK. The part I really didn't like is when I got back to them and ask for an estimate for countertops that would match my newly installed cabinets. I send them my cabinets measurement and everything First, the guy, name is Kevin, sent me an estimate for cabinets again, when I specifically asked for countertops only. I explained I want countertops only. Two days later he asks if I just want countertops. I confirm yes. Never got that estimate. Sent a couple of reminder emails. Nothing. Called them on the phone, they told me to send it to their generic email address and that they will give me same day estimate. Nothing. Called again to check. Guy on the phone found my email, confirmed they had it. Still no estimate and it is over a week and several calls and emails. Guess they don't want my business. Also if customer service is so poor when I have not even paid them yet, I can just imagine how bad it will be once they have you on the hook. Stay away! read more

We've finished two projects with GS. One was great and the second not so great. Recommend them for small slabs of granite but not for large projects (more than 1 sheet requiring seams.) We needed 3 sheets for our kitchen - they didn't match well and it wasn't possible to get the sheets side by side to really determine the match. They came out and replace one piece with another so it's not terrible but after 2 days and $3000 worth of work - I have a granite counter that is only 85% ok. And nothing I can do about it. Would not use granite again - too imperfect. Spend extra money and get artificial or quartz based products if you want a nice even look. read more

I was so pleased at first.... I was helped by Jerry, who made the kitchen set up I was looking for look great on the computer screen. The problem was with scheduling. It was an unendingly frustrating process - where the cabinet install crew was scheduled to come on Thursday, but didn't actually show up til Friday. Also, it was not explained to me and I did not previously understand (or know to ask) about scheduling counter top install separate from cabinet install. So on the install day of the cabinets, I was able to get counter top installation scheduled for a week later (meaning there are no counter tops or sink in the kitchen for a WEEK now and counting!!!) eventually, I got the counter top install scheduled for today (Friday to start between 1030-11), only to get a phone call at 855 in the morning (the day of the scheduled install) to say that my counter tops would not be able to be installed on this day and would require rescheduling... In what world is this ok? Obviously this is unacceptable. Especially since I have to take off work to allow the installation team in to the secure building where I live in the city & have a post construction clean up scheduled to follow. (& in actuality, the cabinets are nice looking install team did a great job when they eventually happened to show up - but I can't comment on how the counter tops look - BECAUSE I STILL DON'T HAVE ANY!!!). Also, when expressing dissatisfaction, there is no such thing as customer service - Jerry actually put me on hold for several minutes without even telling me he was putting me on hold first and avoided picking up the phone when I called back once. My husband has had some success with this company in the past - if you do decide to be a consumer at this company - I would definitely avoid having Jerry "help" you - very unsatisfied with his service! read more

I went to quite a few shops, looking for granite counter-tops and chose G. S. because they had a granite texture I really like and didn't see it anywhere else. The price was also extremely competitive. It's a Chinese business but they have sales people that speak English. After choosing the pattern, I showed up on the weekend for choosing the slabs on the day of installation. Moon, my very pleasant sales lady, showed up even though it was her day off just to make sure everything ran smoothly. The installation staff did a quality job. I also ordered a stainless steel sink from them. I was going to buy one from Home Depot and Moon told me to check out their prices. G. S. was thicker steel and much less money. They also have a wide range of cabinets but I can't comment on them since I was not in the market for cabinets. Don't expect any interior design consulting regarding colors and wood choices. You're pretty much on your own, the trade-off being lower prices. Fortunately I went with a friend with a good eye for design. read more

I was referred to G&S from Axis Custom Builders LLC out of Bothell. They use G&S Building Supply for all their kitchen remodels whether it is a $300,00 or a 1,000,000.00 home. I had gone to Lowe's and Parr and got quotes for cabinets. G&S quality of cabinets and pricing by far was better than both Lowe's and Par plus they were able to have my cabinets and counters installed within 2 weeks. Boris was my salesman and he did a great job as well. I had some changes and each time I called he went right into my order and made the changes and sent me a new proposal. I have recommended G&S Building Supply to all my friends and family! read more

The actual installation of our countertops went fine. As for the cabinets I was very disappointed. They were an espresso color in the front but the sides are a reddish, like a Cherry. Apparently a cheaper side. Not happy at all. Getting someone out was harder. Calling on the phone is pointless, they don't speak English very well and it is so hard to understand them. Once you pay for your product good luck getting any further customer service. They don't want to talk to you. Give me your money and go away is the attitude. Since the job was small they said they would give us a call when they could squeeze us in. I want to schedule an appointment, not wait around until you can "squeeze me in". Secondly the person that came out to do the install cut the tile in our driveway and left a huge mess of shavings all over my driveway and on my plants. Just left it for me to clean up. Would not have them install again. I would rather pay a little more for a real professional. read more

Everything was wrong with the slab of granite that I ordered- measurements were wrong, chips on the sink, surface not properly buffed and polished, faucet hole was not centered, back splashes did not fit. This place has a fly-by-night work attitude and Jerry, the salesperson that I dealt with, is a punk. The manager is mean and lack simple customer service skills. If you HAVE to buy from these people, be sure to check EVERYTHING in bright lighting and hold them accountable. They will try and blame you for everything that they do wrong. read more

I decided to do it this year. I talked to Jenny (the owner) who did the quote last time and she pulled out the design/quote file we did last time which saved a lot of time. We picked the cabinets (with handles), granites, marbles, undermount sinks at the showroom. Jenny was very nice and patient. She explained many details and helped me finalize the design. She told me that they can finish it in 2 days which was great. but they didn't do any related to plumbing/electricity . I asked her for contractor recommendation and she recommended Arturo. They could do the demolition work but there are soffit boxes above my old cabinets so she suggested letting Arturo do the work together. I paid the deposit and made an appointment The G.S. workers (they are employees) were hardworking and easy to talk to (unfortunately they don't speak much English). They were very efficient since they do cabinets and countertops all year around. With better cutting they even saved one piece of granite (a few hundreds) for me. Over the project I kept in touch with Jenny who was very helpful. The workers also provided some suggestions to make the kitchen beautiful. Not-So-Good Part the trim of the granites in the kitchen is 1.5' short but I wanted 2'. not big deal though. Overall I had very good experience. read more

decent cabinets,really cheap prices...had a problem with my granite slab though,they helped me load it up onto the truck,15 mins later got home and notice a crack across the slob,came back for a different one,but they said it was my fault for not inspecting it before it was loaded up,maybe they are right,but how was I supposed to know they dont inspect them before they load them up? I had to buy another slob. JENNY the owner was some what nice to discount about $35%off on the new slob,but MIA the other girl was a real ass,she kept telling me to go away,she kept saying it was my fault for not checking the slob, she affirmed I broke it even though I didn't even unloaded it from the truck and called them 20mins after I left the store to let them know... We purchased a lot of granite from this company for our kitchen remodel and I regret it!. Seven months later, we have extensive cracks throughout. They refuse to take any corrective actions and blame us for not taking proper care of the granite. The quality of the 2 cm granite we purchased is horrible. Buyer beware! Our island granite was provided by a reputable stone provider and our fabricator promised that we would experience issues with GS Building Supply based on their experience with other clients. This was one of the worse experiences I've ever had. First I explain to them I want to put in my own top mount sink. No problem, until I bring the sink for a template, oh that's too big, so I order another sink and bring it, this time using the max specs that they provide, oh nope, too big. basically forcing me to purchase an undermount sink. Next I ask them to cut the sink hole as close as possible, yes of course they will, it gets cut and there is more than an inch of overlap, exactly what i asked them not to do and was assured they wouldn't. Not only does it have overlap but there's a weird sway in the cut and its chipped. Next would you think that they would properly align the faucet holes? Nope an ich or more off to the left. What do they say, that I'm a demanding customer with too high standards... Really? Ridiculous. The back splashes where done wrong, one too long one too short and both backwards. Scratches everywhere on top of it. I was also treated like a nuisance. The manager either didn't speak english or deliberately chose to pretend not to. Lucky for me my significant speaks chinese. The whole experience was absolutely ridiculous. The only reason they stay in business in my opinion is that they have very reasonable prices. Be careful when shopping here. I don't believe for a second that the reviews on here that give gs a five star rating are real. There is NO WAY that these people had a five star experience. I believe that they where posted by the employees or the owner. After being told by the person who helped us and using the word help is very much stretching the meaning, I was told by him that he had a bad feeling about the order and that he wanted to just turn us away at the door?!! I've never been treated so poorly in my Life! This place is a sham. read more

I've been to half a dozen shops looking at granite slabs. If you are looking to add granite countertops on the cheap, check out the Chinese-owned shops in Sodo -- Pius, JC Marble Expo, G.S. Cabinet Supply -- there are others. Most are on 1st Ave south or 4th Ave South. No frills and limited edge options -- but the final product will be beautiful at an amazing price. We wanted a good value for a built-in office design and found it at GS Cabinet Supply. It was a difficult design because of the span of the quartz top wrapping around the edge of the room. I just used GS for my kitchen and bathroom remodel. Their selection is limited, but as Julie says they still have quite a few cabinet styles and granite and their prices are great. I had WONDERFUL customer service. Every time I called, Boris answered the phone. He is quick to respond to email and always courteous and professional. The installers didn't speak much English, and my job got a little complicated, yet they persisted and we worked together to figure out a solution until I was happy. If you walk into the showroom and go to the desk asking for help, someone will work with you. They won't go up to you and ask "may I help you" but anytime I had a question in the showroom I simply asked for help. Johnny and Boris speak great English. Also I had a custom wall and was able to special order. It took about 6 weeks, maybe a little less, but the measurements were perfect. So you CAN have custom cabinets made. If you are looking for lots of choices and help with design, high end granite and totally custom cabinets, you may want to check out other places, but for the price and time it took to do the job, we are very happy with our kitchen. We will never recommend GS Cabinet Supply, a perfect example of getting what you pay for. We needed to upgrade kitchen and bathroom countertops, our designer had a good working relationship with them and said they were the best price around. We took her word for it and initially thought things were OK, with the exception that they did not clean up inside the house at all, and even though they were told to be careful of the new wood floors, contractor had to fix a few deep gouges GS caused In spite of cardboard taped down everywhere. (counters were supposed to have been done before the flooring, but the slabs were held up by the worker slow down at the docks, and our contractor needed to install the flooring as scheduled), They also tripped a breaker and didn't let us know, causing the loss of 10-15 lbs. of salmon and crab, and several pounds of other meats in the deep freeze. But the real problems began after we found large noticeable gaps and just plain poor quality workmanship on one of the edges that were finished on site, our designer was able to get them to return to fix the issues, but the repair was much worse than the original problem. Cabinets and wallboard were damaged after their "fix," they lied to our faces about huge gaps we now had supposedly to make the counter level-when there were no gaps after their first install. They also left bits of granite, trash, a utility blade, and cigarette butts all over our front yard, as well as damaging our new lawn. As there was no trash left after they originally installed everything (large kitchen and seven other countertops) we can only assume that they caused the damage and left a mess out of spite. Please, for your own sake, get references and check out other counter suppliers before using GS Cabinet Supply Co. read more

GS was great to work with. We met Justin at the home show. So glad we did. He is very knowledgeable , and helpful. He helped us plan our kitchen and bathrooms, and his recommendations turned out great. He gave us exact quotes for what we needed, no upselling. Prices are low but quality and workmanship is the best. The workers were on schedule and left everything clean. Work was done as promised in 2 days. I've done two projects with GS, and they've been polar opposites in terms of customer service. The first project was with Bin, who handled everything very professionally. Cabinets and counter came exactly when scheduled, there were no hidden costs or fees, etc. The delivery and installation was fast and professional, and all done in one day (although there was one mistake that they made). Overall, it was a great value for the money spent, but you get what you pay for. The second job was a trainwreck. Since this was an occupied house with renters and children, scheduling was most important. Kelvin was very helpful and professional up front, but it all went downhill from there. Although we had to wait over a month for cabinets to arrive and install, we agreed on a date. Two weeks early, he called to tell us the cabinets had arrived early and we needed to reschedule delivery and install. Since construction had not started, we agreed to deliver one week later, the day after a holiday. Instead, Kelvin tried to call the GC and myself to tell us the cabinets were going to install on the actual holiday. Since everyone was out of town or out of the country, he failed to notify anyone, but tried to deliver the cabinets anyways. The delivery/installers could not access the house, so Kelvin cancelled delivery and delayed install another week. After an angry exchange with me, Kelvin agreed to deliver a week later, on a Sunday. He then called again, a day early, to tell us the cabinets were delivering /installing Saturday instead. Just to get this project over with, we agreed to that date, and the installers did a good job, as usual. The next day, Kelvin called to get the remaining balance paid, but had added several new items to the total bill. He never communicated any additional fees when he presented the previous invoices, so this was a surprise. I refused to pay this, and after more angry emails and phone calls, he agreed to waive the extra costs and I paid the remaining balance. At no point did he ever apologize for any of the many mistakes made on this job. Long story short, GS is a good company for the money you spend. The quality and finishes are OK, the install is fast, and overall, I would use them for any job where money is tight. However, I don't recommend working with Kelvin. read more

This company is horrible!!! Don't ever deal with this company. We were getting granite countertops installed and they said that there would be small wall cracks. They said that they would plaster over it but would not paint it and we said it was okay. Turns out they were doing it very sloppy as they were just tearing pieces off instead of doing it slowly. We had another contractor in our house working on other things and he told us they were doing everything wrong and sloppy. They did even reposition the wall plugs or use the right screws. In the end the result was cheaply done service. When we were discussing the balance and things that need to be done they started arguing with us and not being cooperative at all. They even left garbage here and when we said hey pick this up they didn't listen. There much more that went down but it was just so frustrating that we couldn't deal with them anymore. We will be filing a complaint against this company as they were unjust and had poor service. read more

Worst experience we've had since buying our home. And that was before they ruined our lawn! In late winter of 2010 our dishwasher exploded and we had to redo our entire kitchen, all while eating in the garage or eating out and missing out on our most used room. Since we had to replace everything, we decided to get upgrades on the counters and cabinets, and our contractor (who was also terrible) referred us to GS. They weren't helpful in choosing the cabinets or the layout, but we figured that out ok. The problems began when they gave us the cabinets, and included 2 cabinets which were mirror images of what we needed and two others which were damaged. We had to wait two extra days to get the right ones in and another 2 days for the installer to reschedule. Then came the counters. We chose some granite counters we wanted, and while we were at the store, asked if we could pick them out to be sure they matched, and they told us no, we had to schedule for installation and then pick them on the morning of installation. Then, come that morning, after being out of our kitchen nearly three months, the installer comes out of the yard and tells me the pieces they had didn't match in the sizes we needed, but a bigger slab did match the smaller ones. After bringing this up to the rep ("Tina") and reminding her that before we ordered them weeks before I asked about matching granite she basically said that it was tough luck and we could pay $75 right there to upgrade to a size we don't need or cancel the order and start over some place else. My wife was so angry she was in tears and I refused to wait for 2 more weeks to move back in, so I paid and went home. Then the final nail, they get to my house, put in the countertops (adequately, although there is a crack now), leave cigarette butts on my driveway, and instead of backing down my driveway, inexplicably decide to pull forward and around on my lawn with hundreds or thousands of pounds of granite in there truck in Seattle in springtime. Unsurprisingly, they got stuck in the lawn, (which they were apologetic for), and we had to get my neighbor to pulls them out with his heavy duty ram. The most positive part of the whole experience, was that we got to deduct the cost of the lawn being fixed from what we owed them, and didn't have to deal with them because they were a subcontractor. read more

Update: Installation was shoddy and went on into the late hours without any agreement from the homeowner. Quality is very low. Seams on granite are poorly joined and there are flaws in the granite (i.e. pinholes). Don't be fooled by the showroom. They refer to their granite as slabs but there isn't a whole slab on the lot. All of it is pre-fabbed, pre-edged counter pieces. The "slabs" are scattered throughout the yard and there are no English labels on any of the granite and the workers are no help finding matching pieces. You may think you are getting a good price but the selection is limited and if you have to change granite at the last minute don't expect them to help. And if you can't decide right away their only solution is to offer your money back or push you out to the next installation date, which in our case was 2 months. Did not clean up after themselves. Granite was flawed. Granite behind corner sink is not supported at all. There was a refund due on the second choice and despite the fact that the homeowner paid with a cashier's check, all refunds went to the contractor who has yet to reimburse the homeowner. All around a shady outfit that does not stand behind their product. read more

This place has absolutely horrible customer service. They are very rude and "why are you bothering me" tone of voice and look. I remodeled a kitchen and three bathrooms with a general contractor. The granite slab is looking good but the quality of work is very diffrent from what you see inside the store. Underneath the slab, they put very ugly wooden board and they support that with cheapest looking metal. I just hope nobody ever lower they eyes to notice that. They also left me with 2" gap between the wall and my oven/range. Since the slab is 2" longer than the cabinet, there is no way any oven/range will fit all the way to the wall. They refused to cut 2" off so that my oven would not slide in and it just stuck out from where it should be. Later I went to the store to order 2"x31" to fill the gap, a sales man harrasing me to buy the entire bigger piece of slab costing $180. Also refuses to cut the size I needed. This guy would start yelling at me (yes yelling) for asking that size of granite which I should not even needed to come to store to buy that piece if they finished the job in the first place. This guy refuses to listen to my explanation even for a minute. I was calm and just trying to explain my situation to purchase a piece to fill the gap. This sales man constantly stopped me from talking (literally shushing me) . At the end, they agreed to cut it for me for $80. They said I had to come back to pick it up. I returned 1 week later since I am working full time and have a baby. The sales man started yelling at me again for coming back that late. They've already thrown that piece away. I just couldn't believe what I was dealing with. I told the sales man that I never dealt with such a terrible customer service in my life living in Seattle for 20 years and I seriously mean it. read more

i shopped around for cabinets and counter-tops for my new house. they have a great variety of choices. their customer service was reasonable. they are down-to-earth willing to help despite that the language barrier. prices are unbeatable. you can't find any cheaper one w/ that quality. over all its awesome. hope you guys find it helpful. read more
