    ows a menu for burritos
    Md Q.

Wow... This place was not good. Bagged chips that were stale and basically crumbs. Frozen guac. My food was cold. My wife's salad was awful and included items that weren't listed that she happened to be allergic to... Apparently anyone can open a restaurant nowadays... Obvious just tourist trap garbage that they don't expect you to remember next year...

Carnitas Bravas an Shorties Tacos from GUAC & Roll with chips and guacamole

I got a Carnitas Bravas an Shorties Taco with some chips and guacamole. New England is far from known fo authentic Mexican food. This was a solid good meal.

My boyfriend and I concluded our Maine road trip by stopping at the nostalgic York beach on our way home. Everywhere had a wait so we decided to try this restaurant. Mistake. The bar tender practically ignored us the entire time, it was nearly 10 minutes before we were even greeted by her- the place was not even busy. We went long periods of time without her even looking over to our end of the bar. A waitress had come take our order for us. We are both servers and are very patient/understanding with fellow industry workers- but this was insane. Drinks were OK, just ok. It was impossible to get any workers attention, waitresses were blatantly sitting on their phones, they were standing around talking, just not doing their job. Staff was young, which is fine but there was nobody in charge it seemed. Sitting with your food in front of you and not having silverware is pretty frustrating, especially watching the workers ignore you. When I came in there were dirty plates at the end of the bar.. they stayed there my entire visit.. two new parties had came and left & the dishes were not cleaned up... I wanted to do it myself. The food was bland. Little to no flavor, extremely long wait time (place wasn't even busy). I don't mind waiting for my food, as long as it's food worth waiting for. (The refried beans were terrifying, we both left this restaurant hungry). The thing that REALLY ruined this experience though- was disturbing. A woman (I presume the dishwasher?) was repeatedly bringing dishes/plates out of the kitchen. I look over at one point and she's holding the part of the fork our MOUTH goes on. I look again the next time she comes out and she's scratching her arm.... WITH FORKS.... THEN PUTS THEM WITH THE CLEAN SILVERWARE. I am not exaggerating and I wish I could pull up camera footage. Disgusting, we asked for the check immediately. This experience put a damper on the end of a great vacation. If the service was good, we probably wouldn't be so upset. There is much opportunity for worthy restaurants in that location, there's also opportunity to make some great cash as a server/bar tender- too bad these workers are not taking advantage of that. If you see a review higher than one star... there had to be a different staff working.

    Strawberry Lemonade cocktail
    Anna X.

We stopped by here post-dinner to grab some drinks to conclude the night, so this review won't be about the food! I had their strawberry lemonade cocktail which was okay! It tasted mostly of lemonade- its tartness was one of the more prevalent flavors. I couldn't really taste the strawberry at all! The boozy component of the drink makes itself known a few sips in, so it definitely sneaks up on ya. The Coke and Rum cocktail, however, was a miss. It tasted like extremely watered down coke... and it was also salty?! :- ( Echoing some of the other reviewers, the service here wasn't the best- the hostess didn't seem friendly. Our waitress was nice but seemed eager for us to leave!

That being Chip, Guacamole, and Salsa. I will say I was a bag fan of the Guacamole. I was very was seasoned and very fresh. So for the mains them Family Style comes with Smoked Prime Brisket, Pork Shoulder (Pulled Pork), and the Rotating Daily BBQ which for us I believe were Burnt Ends which are one of my favorites. For the side we had Mac & Cheese Cornbread w/ Honey Butter, House BBQ Sauce & Spicy Vinegar with Pickles and Salad. To start with the sides that Mac & Cheese was really good but the winner was for the the Cornbread with the Honey Buter. The 2 just paired together so well. For the mains my favorites were the Smoked Prime Brisket and the Burnt Ends. The Brisket was good., probably not in my top 3 all time but for sure a must try. The Burnt Ends were also very good. You can't always get Burnt Ends but when you can it's for sure a must. We really enjoyed Terlingua and can't thank the staff enough for working with us for this event. For sure a must stop in Portland when you have a big party. Just plan ahead because they are so helpful to work with.

We ordered just appetizers. The street corn could have used some chips. I told the server it was delicious but I think they can afford to add a small handful of chips for dipping. The seasoning of the dishes was great. I have no doubt the flavors of other items would be nice, I think we might be used to $18 entrees coming with something else, We saw the tacos and realized that the price only included the taco. Aside from that I see why this place was super busy.

You walk in and the vibe is fun, colorful, and eclectic. It reminded me of a classic Mexican restaurant with a tasteful, funky modern touch. My watermelon margarita was incredible and we got the salsa trio that had a good mix of spicy mango salsa, a mild but flavorful green salsa, and fresh pico de gallo style. The chips did taste homemade but if not still enjoyed the thicker corn style chip you don't usually find in restaurants! We each got 3 street tacos and all were great, even the sweet potato taco! The chicken was chopped a bit thick for street taco style but it was still great flavor, and rice was a bit salty but not unbearable. The service was also incredible, I love a restaurant that boxes up your leftovers for you and our server was super super attentive and friendly. We will be back!!

We (parents and a toddler) arrived hungry after driving two hours and had a hard time getting his attention at times. We arrived before 6pm on a Friday but still there was a wait. Once we were seated, the server was pretty prompt and really friendly, though generally service was somewhat slow with a wait for food. We were waiting almost an hour for entrees and about to change our order to to-go because of stress with our exhausted toddler, but of course that's when the food arrived. We had to shovel it in and leave. The food was the most disappointing part. The chips are clearly not homemade. The salsa didn't have much flavor, and the guacamole was a huge letdown. It had a dull green color and very "slop" style texture (think sour cream texture, not chunky like real guac) that all pointed to store bought / not fresh. I had the chicken enchiladas, and the sides of rice (so salty) and beans (very soupy) brought down an already undesirable dish. The enchiladas were cooked nicely but far too cheesy. The green sauce was nearly tasteless, the red sauce is what made it all edible. Wouldn't ever really come back here. I wish I could say something more positive!

They did come by once to ask if we would like to order another beverage. Our pre-paid parking time was running out and we needed to run. Could not find our bartender. There were a couple of empty tables so not sure why we couldn't sit outside?? But she then says "oh, I found you a table!" lol Service took forever....soooooooo SLOW it was painful. It was busy & I saw @ least 3 servers and peeps running out food. Our waitress was very nice, Sophie but the wait for EVERYTHING was torture. Menus, silverware & chips and salsa did come out quickly but we weren't there to eat. Their salsa was horrible, it was sooo thin & tasted like a cheap spaghetti sauce or like a can of tomatoes puréed. Thumbs down for that. Our soft serve margaritas were super cute & colorful but also really, really small & for $13 not worth the $$$$. Those took forever to come out. She brought 2 out @ first & we had to wait for the machine to make more to get the other 2. It didn't taste like a margarita but tasted like an italian ice, a very sour one. This isn't on the menu, you have to ask for it. We ventured off to another Mexican bar to try their's out which was huge, creamy & tasted like a Margarita. We spent way more time in this place than we wanted to due to the very slow service. I doubt I will be back here to even try out their food, sorry guys......maybe inside the service may have been quicker?
