I'm not usually the person to write a review on a place, but this was on another level. I was rudely and wrongfully denied service even though I am 23. I was told that I look too young and my driver license "didn't seem real" even though it was. I offered to show other forms of ID, like my student ID, which showed that I already graduated college in May, and the bartender still refused service. This place is a joke. Went for lunch today and bbq was not really true bbq. It was some brisket which was drenched in tons of bbq sauce. My buddy got a burrito only to find no meat but tons of canned beans. I really want to like the place but it's in desperate need of some real help. I knew it was going to be bar food, but this was sub par even for bar food. Wish I could give it more but I trust Yelp and I want others to see the real opinion of someone who expected a bit more than I got. Stopped in there today for a quick bite while my daughter was at soccer practice down the road. Didn't know anything about the place except for it had outdoor seating. It was just plastic tables, which was fine - it's obviously a casual place which we were prepared for. Ordered drinks and some wings. Then the waitress carried my beer over under her arm - with her hair falling all over it. And no one - not even the waitress - was wearing a mask. Gross. We left without ordering dinner. read more

This is just a review of the vibe there, really: My family met here to sing at karaoke, which a friend of my mother's hosts. We didn't have any food, and only had beer, but we enjoyed the vibe. Now granted, my wife and I (ages 38/40) like bars some people might call "divey" full of locals or "townies," and this was one of those. But it was fun, lively, and full of some characters that made it a memorable night. It seems hard to find their menu online, but they do have a menu of Mexican-inspired and BBQ items. read more

It is not often I give a bad review. The place is rundown, chairs wobble, fabric stained and dirty. Enough about the place. Wait for service, I think there was one waitress. Drinks came quite a while after ordering. Then the menu, wait again to order, wait again for food. Get your own stale popcorn. The food was actually ok but not a tough plate (chicken fajitas). Evidently this is the listing for the restaurant. The bar is listed under G Willikers..........A great place if you like Mexican. The portions are huge. I always take something home as I can never finish the plates they serve. I usually eat at the bar, with ample room around all 4 sides. TV's face each direction, and always have some sports on. I've been to places divier than this, but the bar does overwhelm the restaurant where there is ample seating. The juke box is usually playing rock and roll. Neon beer signs and keno screens everywhere. 4 pool tables available as you walk from the outside door to the bar. Place was clean. Outside patio with bar and some small tables. The restaurant has a quiet room (with a separate entrance), where you can get away from the local bar scene, but the air conditioner wasn't on and it was a pretty humid day. It was a Monday when I visited......may be better later in the week? Today I had the chicken burrito, which comes with rice and refried beans and was topped with gucamole and sour cream, all for $11.......Wasn't able to finish the plate again, and was sooo good. Had a diet coke which was promptly refilled without asking, even during a shift change. You may want to get here early before the bar gets going if you want to enjoy some conversation.....I'll definately come back! read more

Looking for a close-by off route 9 place to pop in for a BBQ plate. Got take-out here before & the food was very good. But this time, seeing the bar was very active, we sat down instead in the empty side of the restaurant near the entrance. Waiting for the waitress, our party spotted a plump mouse running across the floor & back under a nearby booth. I was amazed! I watched it dart out across the floor a few times & scurry back. One in our party got up to look under the booth it disappeared under but didn't see anything. My experience is if there's one, there's more. When the waitress came to take our order we exclaimed the mouse's activity. She was unfazed & replied, "Well, its that time of year when they come in from the cold." She took our order & walked away. We were stunned at her blas'e attitude & debated whether to stay or leave when the food came so quickly! We were hungry & the critter didn't return that we saw. The food was good, but it was an uneasy 20 minutes in all & we quickly left. Here's to scratching off G. Willikers & a heads up to the Shrewsbury FDA for a closer inspection look into the unhealthy food conditions there. Closed once before, could a healthy pay-off from the bar business cause officials to avoid looking in the basement food stores area or under booths for telltale droppings unless it gets aot of complaints?? This place seems to be listed on Yelp twice; as G Willikers and Willikers Tex-Mex & BBQ. We've driven by this place so many times... and we'll probably keep driving by... We might stop again for a beer sometime (bartender was pleasant, beer was cold) but we won't eat there again. Best BBQ in the area! I live the atmosphere. Very laid-back, blue-collar place. "Cowboy" theme is cool but needs a remodel. Food is 4/5 but a good value. They charge $1.50 for sour cream which is more annoying than a cost issue but enough to make my GF not as big o' fan as myself. Bar specials are a great deal and the food is good for the price. DO NOT ORDER THE MAC AND CHEESE... it is most certainly just Kraft from the box. It was flavorless and basically tasted like plain mini noodles. I also ordered the pulled pork plate. I know this place isn't meant to be especially nice, but when we visited there was a VERY strong and unmistakable smell of mold, with a general mustiness on top of it. I would give it zero stars if I could. For starters the place was not busy when we arrived, yet it took a good 15 minutes for a server to come to the table, which was a bit amazing considering she told us to sit anywhere and walked by us many times. When she did come over it took another 15 minutes or more to get our drinks. We ordered chips and dip only to be brought just chips. After asking we received to dip part....in this time the table next to us asked for the manager and I couldn't blame them they appeared to have been there awhile, to have a manager come out and not only be very snappy but in the end flip them the bird and told them to "go f%$k themselves". Why? Because they didn't like the nachos. Our dinner was pretty terrible. Cold everything pretty much took forever to get, I would've sent it back but the server was MIA. The food isn't good either, which is a big disappointment after sitting there for two hours. Don't make the mistake we did. Be warned. This place is a time sink with bad service, bad management and bad food. In response at 1 AM (professional huh?) "You know, it will never cease to amaze me the caliber of people that feel the need to write reviews. The table could have easily asked for something else to eat, or for a manger to come over before they decided to skip out on their $75 bill leaving to waitress to pay for it. So were the cops called? You betcha. So before you decide to take your time to write a review, think about the players involved. I am very sorry that your food was not up to par with your standards and that you have to witness me becoming more upset than I should have, but you should probably take into consideration the entire situation before to write a review. If you do decide to come again, let the bartender know and we'd be happy to have your first drink on the house. I am not looking for your business. I am simply writing because it is baffling sometimes how individuals will take time out of their busy days to write nasty reviews about restaurants. I am sorry that you did not enjoy willikers. We stopped in while driving down 20 for a bite to eat. The drinks were inexpensive & the boneless chicken fingers were very good. My husband enjoyed his cheeseburger but I ordered the house special...blackened cajun chicken with greens...and it was a JOKE! The waitress brought our meals, but mine only consisted of bits of seasoned chicken on a skillet. No Greens...none! Well I wish I could give this place .5 of a star. First, they should remove the Tex-Mex from there names. There is nothing worse than bad tex-mex food. Food came out warm to cold, salsa taste like it came out of a can, guacamole look old (it was brown in color) and the taste of the food was like opening up a microwave dinner. Certainly not fancy, but a good place for inexpensive drinks and quite good bar food. The nacho plate is plentiful with lots of sour cream and guacamole. Chicken wings are meaty and come in a variety of flavors. Beer is cold and there's a good variety on tap. And on top of this, there's plenty of tv screens and Keno too. Came here for karaoke and got a chicken quesadilla, it was the driest most tasteless thing I've ever put in my mouth. Then, I returned it for the manager/owner to then come out and scold me while asking if I knew what quesadilla was. He proceeded to tell me that I was going to have to pay for it as well as the meal I got to replace it. And he made a point of saying loudly that "no one else complains". Bar girl there today named Blaire was a very rude mean person, my friends Greg and Antonio took me there for my 1st time and I loved it except that bar girl was extremely rude and mean, she hates Greg for no good reason just to be very mean like that, never seen me before but when I asked for beers she quickly refused me in a very rude way telling me I see you are with friends with him, came here together so you get nothing either so F*ck off.... unacceptable... she had no right to refuse me just cause she's in some mean bad mood or cause of who I went there with even if it was my 1st time there today, I am not under age or already to drunk or any reasonable reason to deny me beers I asked for and willing to pay for. This place is a rip off. They charged me an extra $5 because there was ground beef in the taco salad. Last time I checked a taco has ground meat in it. Went there for first time tonight. I will NEVER go back there. I ordered a taco salad. When we got the bill we were charged an extra $5.00 for ground beef. When we asked the waitress she got the "owner". When we questioned him about the extra charge he had to verify his menu with the waitress. REALLY???!! Shouldn't the owner know his menu?? He said the taco salad does not come with meat. I then stated its just a garden salad. We showed him the menu. It stated an extra $5.00 would be charged for steak tips, shrimp or chicken. It said nothing about ground beef. Had I known that I never would have ordered it. Never heard of a taco salad without meat. If you ask me that is ripping off the customers. The so called owner did nothing about it and instead let two customers walk out extremely unhappy. Not good in a social media world. If you go check your bill with a fine tooth comb. When you drive up, you will see there are two entrances. The one on the left is for the bar - the one on the right is for the restaurant. You will notice lots of cars parked on the bar side, while the food side will be nearly empty. This is why: All the attention goes to the bar. My wife and I went there for the first time on 6/25. we also were meeting friends there. When we arrived there was a b-day party starting, about 20 people. There was only one other couple there, but only one waitress. Took about 15min to order drinks, another 15 to get them. ordered chips and dip, got the chips and had to ask where the dip was. Friends showed up, took another 15 min to get them drinks. Waited for awhile for the waitress to come take our food order. After about a half hour, I went to the waitress and said we want the checks for the drinks and we were leaving. She apologized and stated that the other waitress called out. I said there were 3 people working the bar with about 5 customers. One helped clean up dishes from the b-day party. Funny how she couldn't help take our order. After being there for over 2 hours, all we got was drinks and chips. Sad, first time there and was looking forward to Karaoke. Might try some other time, but will eat somewhere else first. read more

My first time at this place was a bad one. The service was horrible, I wasnt informed by my server that a large hold would be placed on my card when opening a tap. When i called to ask about the hold the person insulted me and was extremely rude. Stopped for a cold beer on a whim and returned for a meal another time. The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. The wings where great and came in many choices of sauces. Buffalo and the honey mustard where outstanding. Had the sirloin steak that came with two side. It was cooked to perfection and was huge. The sides I had where a salad and Mac and cheese. Mac and cheese appeared to be Kraft, but who doesn't like Kraft. The steak was very tasty and cooked to perfection. My beer was ice cold and I was given an iced cold glass with it. There did appear to be some regulars in the place, but they seemed friendly and harmless. The steak was $15.00 w/ two sides and was great. I would put it up against any steak around, that cost almost twice that without the sides. All in all it seems to be a fun place and economical for good food and great drinks. I have returned a Few times since and it has yet to disappoint. there is also plenty of tv's and places to sit and enjoy them. The outside bar is awesome on a nice day. They do have special parking for motorcycles which is nice. This is a must try place. read more
