I was hoping this was a good find as it's located in a prime area. We stopped in here and I was disappointed to see staff were sitting at the bar alongside eating their food and going back and forth between eating and serving. The food was decent. There was a smell coming from one side of the restaurant and it definitely tainted the experience.

Stopped by walking through downtown Lake Geneva & had the most amazing service. I can't speak for their food but strawberry margarita was delicious (better than the mango). They have arcade/gaming machines, indoor & outdoor seating. Everyone is so kind and helpful. Our server had long curly hair and had me laughing every time he stopped by. This is a family restaurant and bar.

I tried Guac Star for the first time tonight for dinner. The food was pretty good, I was able to try 2 different quesadillas- the chorizo and the steak. The steak had a nice flavor to it. The decor inside the restaurant was pretty cool too and our waiter was friendly. I only subtract a star because it does seem pretty expensive for what you get - for $15 a quesadilla plate, I was expecting rice and beans as well, but sadly they are not included. Overall, a nice restaurant with good food, but a bit pricey.

Quick taco place. Flavorful. Reaso able prices. Great ambience. Casual. Excellent service.

The food was great & we had the restaurant to ourselves on a Friday night! The owner/manager Kevin was very personable to my folks and made sure that we felt at home and very open. The quality of meat was very good (chicken) I believe the waitress said that it was "farm fresh." I think guac, salsa, and chips for $16 is quite the price to pay. I did the guac and chips, I needed to add some salt to the guac but it was very fresh as well. I thought the finely diced jalapeños on the side added a nice touch to my burrito as well. Customer service by the waiter could be improved upon, involving listening skills...he asked if we wanted a "pitcher" of water (there were 4 of us & we all wanted water) to which I said yes...but instead were brought cups. Side note; I asked for lemon with the water as well, which they only had limes available. This is a cool & casual style Mexican restaurant. Don't expect fancy, but you will leave satisfied and possibly with some good conversation on the side!

Great location off Main Street in the heart of Lake Geneva just steps away from the lake. Guar Star was a clever name so the family and I popped in for lunch. The service was great with multiple people checking on you. The restaurant is a little small but cozy. They have a cool vintage video game on the front that my kids loved. The food was good. A little pricey with drinks came to $87 but is to be expected for Lake Geneva. I would recommend.

Hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants I have been to. I got the steak tacos and let me tell you pictures do not do justice. I came here with my bf and our friends and we were in such a bad mood a couple weeks ago because we could not find a place to eat. We sat somewhere previously for 40 minutes and did not get served. The staff was out of this world. Our server Ariana was so nice and and came in to check on us multiple times. One lady was walking around with fun straws and kept filling up our waters. Another guy working there came and brought us hot sauce which was amazing. I truly felt like a princess by all the staff waiting on my friends and I. The hot sauce was so good that my friend and I needed up buying a bottle I got the last one but the guy who was so nice enough to introduce us to the hot sauce let my friend buy the one that was already open. We live in Chicago so it was a treat to take this hot sauce home. The music they had playing was also so good! It was a wide variety of songs. Overall, would come back here again for the great staff, food, ambience and hot sauce!

This is an amazing hot sauce! Just the right heat. House made from scratch with natural ingredients. Couldn't ask for anything better.

We just happened across this jem. Highly recommend the steak tacos with cilantro and onion on corn. Meat is locally sourced from a butcher! Had the steak and the beef tacos and the steak just beat it out. The frozen margaritas are made using wine and are done with perfection. I am coming back and coming back soon. This place should be on Triple D's. Keep up the amazing job, Guac Star. Oh, I almost forgot about the staff. They took their time and made it so easy to find what I was looking for. I'm taking two bottles of this Infierno back home with me.

Taco lunch special. Two tacos with rice and beans. The green sauce is

The most horrible margaritas I've ever had in my life, it's just frozen Kool-Aid with tequila. I am very sad and disappointed.

I would have eaten here a second time on Sunday afternoon, but I got a $30 ticket after parking in what I thought was a free parking lot behind the adjoining businesses on the Main Street. I ended up stopping by Culver's on the way home to make up for the $30 charged by the greedy city of Lake Geneva. If the business owner reads this, please help do something about the outrageous parking fees in your city. Maybe a warning would have been nice instead of a ticket, or free parking during winter months on a Sunday. It cost you $60-70 in business this time, and has me looking elsewhere for our next weekend trip.

So I sit down and get ready to order when, the woman next to me taps me on the shoulder and says she's saving the seat for someone who will be here soon so I'll have to get up... The bartender looks at her, then looks and me and shrugs her shoulders... Glad I didn't pay the meter before I sat down. I didn't know you could group up and reserve seats at the bar before your party is there. My bad. Now I know. I should have made reservations... for the bar stool... It's a fun, casual spot with a spacious layout--there's seating on the main level, upstairs, and outside as well. The self-serve, pour-your-own system is a great feature. After a quick check-in with the cashier, you're free to sample and pour what you like. The taps offer a wide variety of options, including beer and wine, which was a pleasant surprise! There was live music playing during our visit, adding a really nice touch to the laid-back atmosphere. They also offer snacks for purchase (paid at the cashier). One suggestion: it would be nice to see more non-alcoholic options besides just soda--maybe a craft NA beer or mocktail for those not drinking (like myself). Overall, it was a quick but enjoyable stop. We'd return again. I also noticed they offer bingo some nights- that's always fun.
