Spent a recent weekend in Lake Geneva with my girlfriends and we had a fun time at this local pub! You can tell it's a touristy spot, and let me tell ya patrons are of all age ranges. We thought it was a fun vibe with great music, plus the drinks were well priced and bartenders did a pretty solid job of handling the big late-night crowd. Though it's fairly small inside, there are plenty of bar seats and tables scattered around. Also a stage-like area that they clearly host live-music for. I'd come back for the night-life vibe, but curious how they fair for day time and what their food menu is like. read more

This place has been one of the main stays as far as night spots in Lake Geneva. Businesses come and go, but somehow this club has been a fixture, drink specials, DJs, and dancing throughout the night. In the daytime, drink specials and casual dining. I love it here so much. It is a lot of fun. The people there sometimes aren't the best (the customers I mean), but overall it is a great atmosphere. I haven't ever tried the food, but the drinks are STRONG lol. I only go to dance so can't really speak on any other times. Super cool bar until a heavily intoxicated regular tried to rob my finance. As we were paying, he tried to swipe his wallet on the bar. I have been going to Hogs & Kisses since the late 70's. Thursday night ribs are fall off the bone delicious. They serve them 2 ways and both are really good. Jamie pours a great drink and it brings back memories of my youth. Being it's a landmark from the past it's got that vibe. Videos and music from that era. Security is a joke. Around 10:20PM on March 18th, my fiancé and her friends went here to enjoy their night but instead, came to a halt when a group of people physically & emotionally abused her by pulling up her dress and proceeded to keep doing it. Security spoke to them but were dealt a warning instead of doing the right thing, physically kicking them out of the club. Which gives the impression, "they can do it once but not again." Not even worth dragging my thumb across my screen on my phone but because Google needs a minimum review, I give it one star when it deserves none. I would not recommend coming here unless you like to be sexually assaulted. read more

BEWARE-STAFF DOES NOT CARE ABOUT SEXUAL HARASSMENT I went here on Saturday March 18th for my bachelorette party. At approximately 10:30pm, a group of 4 people pulled my dress up and exposed my body in the middle of the dance floor. I have 7 witnesses with my party. Myself and my group immediately got off the dance floor to find security/staff and waited for them to talk to the group. It was crowded of people and very loud, so I waited by the front to hear back from the guy I talked with. He came back and said "I did not see it happen, so I gave them a warning". I proceeded to argue "so you said they can do it once but not twice? are you going to follow them around all night to make sure that they don't do it?" He shooed me off and the other security/staff ignored us. I asked for them to check the cameras, since they did not believe me. I left in tears. Cowardly staff that i spoke to- tall young brunette man, and old heavy set man at door both with facial hair. Hogs and Kisses - I'm escalating this situation and you'll be hearing from me soon. Check your tapes around 10:15-10:25 for 4 people- blonde curly hair female - black Tanktop, platinum blonde female, brunette female - wearing long sleeve white shirt and st. Patrick's short sleeve tshirt on top, tall blonde male with blue short sleeve shirt. Everyone else - beware. My daughter was assaulted at her bachelorette weekend while there. She told the security guard and he said he would GIVE A WARNING TO THEM. There were multiple witnesses, we have video and stills, and the bar has video they should have checked. Girls do not go there without escorts to protect you. It is unsafe. Much better to avoid and find a safe option. I am going to work with the police and any other means to deal with this place and the perpetrators. read more

My sister had her bachelorette party here on 3/18, that night a group of people were harassing her, and around 10:20pm they were pulling up her dress. When my sister told security about this, their "best course of action" was to give those individuals a warning, rather than kick them out of the bar. This obviously gives the impression that assault once is TOTALLY fine with the security in this place, but I guess twice is when they...draw the.. line..? This place was great! Came here Saturday with my fiancé while in town for a wedding and we wanted to grab a snack in between the ceremony and reception. We had a couple hours to kill and it was essential that we found a place that had cheese curds. I hopped on Yelp and typed "cheese curds" near our current location and found this spot! Hogs and Kisses is right downtown Lake Geneva near the marina and is a charming pub. Fantastic service! We got the cheese curds and potstickers, an unlikely duo but it sure hit the spot. When the check was delivered at the end of the meal, 2 Hershey's kisses appeared (hence the 'Kisses' in "Hogs and Kisses"). Very cute! This place is tiny but it seems to be the only "happening" place in Lake Geneva. It was perfect for my friends bachelorette party but some of the bartenders have a chip on their shoulder. Probably because they can tell that we're from Chicago. The one instance that stands out in my mind is one of the girls who was sitting in someones seat. Really? Are we in high school and we're suppose to know that the bar stools are designated for certain regulars. Biatch! We are drinking too. Oh well, who care, we still had fun. read more

I went here on New Years Eve with some girlfriends and this is what happened: I went into the DJ booth to request a song, which is normal and acceptable. In past times, Ive done the same here and joked around with the jockey and it was totally fine and fun. On this night, a different DJ was there, an older man. I went over a few songs with him, he said he'd already played them--fine, cool, I dont care--and then I asked about some other songs. He turned his back on me suddenly and told me to "get the f*** out." I was shocked and went up to management (maybe...I asked to speak to management and the guy just shrugged and said "whats up?", so I assumed he was in charge of...something). I told him what happened, he said he would go talk to the DJ and then didnt. I lost all interest in dancing and sticking around, so my friends and I decided to leave. On our way out I asked the men guarding the door once again if they were going to do anything. One of them said to me "well, what were you doing?" presuming that something I did or said could have justified the DJs behavior. He then looked at my friend and said "close the f***ing door, its cold." I have never experienced such disrespect and degradation from an establishment. And yea, Im sure they were sick and tired of dealing with crazy drunk people all night, but...thats what theyre in business for. Frankly they shouldnt be in service if they cant manage their clientele in an appropriate manner. I will never go there again. read more

WONDERFUL experience here! We came for drinks and appetizers and were very happy. We have been coming here for years and this place has never failed to make us happy! We sat at the bar and the bartenders, Jamie and Alex, we're both very nice and friendly. We ordered Bloody Mary's which were awesome, not too spicy and serviced with pickle and salami as the garnish which I appreciated because I am a salami lover. It comes with a small glass of miller light:) For appetizers we ordered their famous crab cakes which are OUTSTANDING! They serve them with two types of sauces and everything just goes so well together. We returned to have our evening drinks here and ordered more bloody Mary's and then their nachos which were fairly priced and much better than the nachos we got early that day at Popeyes across the street *the bloody Mary's are much better here as well.* Overall we enjoyed both of our times that we stopped in this weekend and definitely will be back again next year :) read more

Saturday lunch - lots of customers plenty of wait staff and loud music!! The fragrance of the grill had our mouths watering as soon as we walked it. Out server was efficient and friendly. The menus is pretty diverse with a good offering of burgers barbecue and sandwiches. I had the pulled pork which was outstanding. Plentiful amount of pork on s fresh bun with homage sauce. Fries were an order up but worth it. Two companions had various burgers which they all raves about. One person had a wrap which they gave thumbs up!! One of our friends told us about this place and I'm glad we made it in. Such a cute, small town, cabin type feel inside. The bartender Jamie was very sweet. There is a popcorn machine that you can help yourself too, a dance floor if your feeling groovy and a ton of different specialty bloody Mary's to try! They also have spotted cow on tap or in can which is why we came lol the cheese curds were a 10/10 and would highly recommend. BUT the ranch that they come with to dip in was sour tasting. Bad ranch in Wisconsin is essentially a sin in my book. They had tons of daily specials, both drink and food wise. Very reasonably priced. Prompt service and would be great for a party. We only had drinks and curds but i definitely want to come back and try all the different bloody Mary's and what the food actually has to offer. Whoa, I didn't know this place served food. Anyway, this is pretty much the only bar that offers dancing in Lake Geneva, so this place can get pretty crowded. Especially in spring and summer when a lot of tourists are in town. The last time I went was during Lake Geneva's off-season and this place was still pretty packed. Every time I go, I have seen at least two bachelorette parties. Yes, it's that kind of place. I don't know if they were just trying to be a pain in my ass the last time I was there, but if you start a tab, every time you order you have to order from the same bartender you started with. Annoying. The music is usually your typical top 40's mixed with a little 80's and 90's. If you're in LG and in the mood to dance, well...this is pretty much your only option. read more

Last Saturday night was a little too heavy on the hogs and way too light on the kisses at H&K. The bar was hosting a Shocktop vendor, which was fun, and music strictly from the last century, which was not fun. We were six girls looking for fun, music, dancing and shots. Nothing but the shots happened. The remainder of the crowd were older folks either vacationing in the LG, or clearly had homes there, judging by their tans and comfort in wearing flip flops to a bar. I was told this was the best place to go in Lake Geneva for dancing and getting a little busted. Not much dancing to be done in flipflops to 90's music that makes you want to stay glued to your seat. We thought layout was awkward, too; I think they had Harry Potter set designers in to create their very own Wisconsin labyrinth. Walking in there's a teeny stage to the left, the bar to the right, a smattering of tables and then another elevated area with tables and chairs smashed together. Word to your mother: ditch the tables and chairs and make room for dancing. Maybe lose the Disc-man as a the main source of music and bring in a proper DJ, too... just a thought. I will say our server was really great. She thought we were an odd group of girls for disliking sweet drinks, but otherwise was attentive and didn't stray far. We ditched the pig pen and headed to the Ridge Resort where the hotel bar had better music and a much more exciting atmosphere. Just to repeat, the hotel bar was more fun than the local bar. Don't eat here. Seriously. The food is greasy and nasty, served on paper in crusty, never-get-cleaned wicker baskets and the place is filthy. The service is surly at best...if you can actually get it. Somehow I don't think they even pretend to care about the food service aspect of the place...after all, it's really just a dive-bar for bikers. Provision of food as an option seems just an afterthought to the reason people come here in the first place: to get hammered. However, I have to give them an additional star for this reason: despite my "foodie" leanings, I come from a long line of white trash. Consequently I am a bit of a sucker for the spectacle of a Harley-ridin'-weekend-warrior-DUI-in-the-making. America is a rich fucking tapestry indeed. read more

Really?! With a name like that how could I not stop in for a drink or two. Personally I like run down beat up kind of bars like this, I think they have character. Don't get me wrong, I prefer clean run down bars of which it is. Lucky or unlucky for me (pending what you like) I came in during the day and in the "off-season" so there were only a few people. I hear this place gets bumping at night being that it's the only "dance" club around. I had a chance to glance the menu and at a few people's dishes, it's your standard greasy bar food so I passed. Gave this place 3 stars just because my experience was just average. It was my first time to Lake Geneva so I yelped where to eat and this place got some good reviews and that was fine with me . As stated, it's American traditional food. Burgers and such. They had a special on oysters so I ordered half a dozen for about 7 bucks. They were alright. Not sure why I got them since i'm not really fond of it. I asked the server which burger was the best and she recommended the Paradise burger. It was pretty good. onion straws and bbq sauce. If you want fries though, it's an extra dollar. An extra 3 bucks if you want sweet potato fries. Otherwise you're stuck with a bag of lays or a small scoop of coleslaw. Um....that's pretty lame. Unfortunately we are living in a time where being short-staffed is causing casualties in the customer service area. We walked in around 5:00-5:30 p.m. on a Friday there was only a bartender and a cook (there was someone else but I'm unsure of their role as they weren't helping either positions) and about 3 other groups of 4 or more stopped in at the same time. This is an unrealistic expectation of 1 person to service all these customers. We did make the decision to leave because their menu is very small and top that with what I knew would be lackluster service (again, not his fault). read more

This is one of the first times where I've been really torn about the star rating, so I'm going with three, but I thought long and hard about a four. Let's go to the pros and cons. Pros: 1. Incredible grilled chicken sandwiches. Just about every casual place in the U.S. has some manner of grilled chicken sandwich on their menu. I've sampled a lot of them, and Hogs & Kisses has the best. The chicken tasted like it was cooked on a grill outside and then brought straight to our table. Cons: 1. There's really only one glaring pro. 2. The place seems to attract a very loud crowd. I was there during lunch, and if that's any indication, you must have to scream to be heard late night. 3. You have to pay an extra dollar for fries instead of chips. I'm sorry, but I hate it when places do this. 4. My wife and I asked to have the check split, and when the waitress brought them back, she made some sort of comment about it being lots of paperwork when she's busy. Seemed a bit snide if you ask me. Anything approaching rude service is a big warning flag for me. I can't stress again how great the sandwich was, so if I'm back through Lake Geneva again, I would consider going back despite the other issues. read more

A familiar place that stands the test of time, Hogs & Kisses is always on my list to stop at for a Bloody Mary and a corned beef sandwich when I visit Lake Geneva with my husband or my girlfriends. Today, we braved the blizzard and walked around town ending at Hogs & Kisses. First, they were outside clearing a path for their customers and we're open when many places in town didn't open because of the snow. We were greeted with a smile and sat right away. Our server gave us a bowl of complimentary beef barley soup because of the weather. It was so good, definitely homemade and warmed us up. We each had a bowl soup and a Bloody Mary with a chaser. My husband ordered the brat with sauerkraut and fries and loved it. He said the taste was just like brats he enjoyed on his trips to Germany. I, of course, had the corned beef with chips. I have to say this visit, they skimped on the corned beef as the sandwich was a lot thinner than on previous visits. I had plenty to eat because of the soup, but if I didn't have that I would have been pretty disappointed by this. This was the only negative from my visit today. When the check was brought to us, it came with two chocolate kisses...get it? Nice little touch! read more

I'm not sure what the deal is with this place. I have heard that this is a great late night bar and the happening place in LG. I went here with a bunch of friends on st Patrick's day. It is a really small crappy bar and not crappy as in the fun hole in the wall bar. It was full of gross older people that you could tell spend most of their time in the bar. We thought things might get fun or crazy since it's st pattys day but it ended up being really boring. We left after a few drinks and headed back to the cottage to party instead. read more

Having been here before, and to many of the other local establishments, this place is better than average for me, being that I think I order the "right things". Burgers are good, but I go for the Crab Cake Burger which I find to be very fresh, well seasoned, and very, very good. On this visit we also had the French Onion Soup and she paired it with a salad and smiles were all I saw. If you want a good place for lunch, don't want the noise of the local sports bar, this is a good option. Great staff working here and BTW---this is a very fun place at night. Worth tipping a few back at. And they are very adept at pouring more than wine and beer----great full bar. read more

Unfortunately we didn't realize this was only a bar and only served bar type food. There's a lovely smell of food grilling or barbecue or something delicious outside the front door, but it must have been floating in from elsewhere. Anyway we were hungry.... The sandwiches we got were ok, nothing special, but the cheese curds were great! It's Wisconsin and how can u not get cheese curds!! We probably won't go back unless we only want a drink.
