The look of astonishment on my face after consuming Guac Time's Burrito Bowl. It was bitter-cold outside and I hadn't taken anything out to defrost for dinner. So, I functionally could not make dinner and emotionally had no motivation to make dinner, either. GrubHub it is! "The man" finds interest in Guac Time Restaurant. Fine. He's the picky one out of the two of us; Whatever he wants, I'll find something edible on the menu *just* to prevent him from shooting off the temper tantrum that I know he's got locked and loaded. We both order Burrito Bowls: I choose Shredded Chicken as my Protein, '86 the Rice, and he chooses Honey Chipotle Chicken for his Protein, white-lime Rice. The menu was familiar EXCEPT for the prices. It's Chipotle, but affordable. WHAT?!? The food showed up in lightening-fast speed. We anxiously ripped off the plastic covers and dived right in. This place. W.O.W. The shredded chicken was so flavorful, tender and delicious; it made the most beautiful fusion with the cheeses, corn guacamole and beans. The Man's Honey Chipotle Chicken was delicious, as well. I only tried a small piece of his Chicken - I let him scarf down his bowl in bliss. End result: Will order again read more

Came on grand opening day when they were giving away a free meal (bowl or burrito). This is similar chipotle with different meats with sauces available to top it off. I got a bowl with the following: -honey chipotle chicken -fajita veggies -cilantro lime rice -queso blanco -pico de gallo -Mexican corn -jalepeno -romaine lettuce -picante habanero sauce For grand opening day, the workers knew the toppings and sauces well and everyone was nice and efficient. I expected the honey chipotle chicken to have more chipotle flavor and portions of each topping were a little light but for a free meal, not bad at all. I also like that vegan items are actually cheaper here. I will definitely be back to try other items on the menu, especially the vegan items. read more

Wow!!! An item that was paid for was NOT in the bag. It was picked up by my husband, not a delivery person. I called to tell them about the missing item- "Next you come we will give to you." Problem is, THIS TIME the item is missing! I don't want it Next Time. I got a lot of passing the phone around, and no manager to speak to... Person wouldn't give me their name so "next time" I could prove I was able to finally get the item! I asked to be credited for the item then, when quite suddenly the game of, "Hello, Hello, click" occurred. They're simply not worth the walk, if they won't support the customer after their own foul up! I paid for something; I didn't receive it; I should be refunded my money!! read more

Very similar to chipotle... Imma give this a 4 for now. but plan to go try their bowls another day. The service guy has very helpful and patient. got 3 tacos. the steak and chicken okay. the fish one was delicious. Still love the fried fish bowl from here however the portions are significantly smaller and honestly sometimes if you order guac as a topping option you better put on your glasses cause you're going to need it to try to find the guac. I recommended this place to my friend and she mentioned she encountered the same problem when ordering Uber eats. I usually order on the app but select pick up. This time I got there early and saw them making someone's bowl and I was impressed I was like Whoas it was loaded and packed to the brim. However when I looked at my dish that was premade but waiting for the fried fish it was lacking and half empty I even asked the guy if there was even guac in there he nodded and pointed to random areas in the bowl. However he must have seen my unimpressed expression and decided to scoop a bit more guac into my bowl. I used to love this place for the generous amount of food they give however there was barely any rice and definitely no guac if I hadn't been there asking if there was guac already in my bowl. I used to be able to eat half a bowl and still have enough to save for another meal, now I'm barely full after finishing one order read more

Dine in | $10-20 Cool taco place open on monday. vegan and impossible options. Have Taco box have their own creations and some signs and extras as well as a cheese menu and some simple desserts. A good service explains what you can add and the options clearly. And the ambience looks very nice and clean. Honestly surprised it was so good! Ordered two Guac bowls for me and my partner. It was so much food that we saved some for lunch the next day. It's definitely different from chipotle in a good way. We had shredded chicken and honey chipotle chicken - both really good! Their chipotle sauce was a game changer and added a nice touch of flavor. I'll be ordering from here regularly on days where I don't feel like cooking. read more

I find the service at the Guac Tre' Jolie and the the food comparable to Chipotle no problem. Chipotle in Bay Ridge is terrific and personal. Guac Time is an up and comer to watch. The food comparable, the portions are better at Guac. The Service in Guac Time is terrific. Specifically they have Bharti.....She is amazing. She is quick, fast gets my order I have some funky orders and her organizational and customer service skills are amazing. read more

I recently had my first experience at Guac Time and came away quite impressed. The service stood out immediately--efficient and courteous employees hustled to serve customers quickly, which I greatly appreciated. The food was another highlight, with generous portions that provided excellent value for the price--some of the best I've had in recent memory. I did have a small issue; the meat was lukewarm, likely because it was served from a steam table. However, I learned later that you can request to have the meat grilled for added freshness. I'll definitely try that next time, and if it enhances the flavor, I'll happily restore the deducted star! Both the burrito bowl and the burrito were delicious and worth recommending. The young staff member stated that their policy is to serve the larger tables before the smaller tables regardless if who came in first. I ordered their Al pastor quesadilla and got a cool guava pulp drink. The green sauce that comes with it is good and the red is a tad bit spicy. The quesadilla has a good amount of meat and cheese. Also my Al pastor had little pieces of pineapples which I loved! Helped cut some of the fattiness from the pork for sure. The quesadilla is on the thinner side. Maybe I'll come back to try the items or another meat filling. FYI: It's cash only!!!

It wasn't until I revisited this page and saw my review that I realized I messed up. I lowkey kicked myself when I checked their online menu and saw those prices. I immediately placed my order and got another tostada de Tinga, and three tacos: chorizo, al pastor and bistec. Now im going to be honest. The tostada was just as I remembered. No complaints or notes. The Tinga was perfectly spiced, just the right amount of salt with a hint of smokiness from the chipotle peppers. The tacos were a great size and PACKED with meat but so much flavor was lacking, I can't lie. They weren't bad per se, but I remember them being better. The Al pastor needed salt. The bistec was a cheap cut of beef and also needed salt. The chorizo (which is usually my favorite filling) left me disappointed. I always leave it for last and while it was okay, it wasn't great. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, I will most definitely be giving them a few more tries as I want to order other tacos as well as their tamales and roasted chicken.

Despite immense competition in Mexican fare, including literally across the street from an unnamed far newer vendor, Paraiso is a neighborhood institution which always delivers no matter core Mexican fare or newer fare like breakfast (a recent trend among Hispanic places) or American stalwarts (beefsteaks, sandwiches, etc. sort of bodega-like). Their core of Mexican fare is wholesome with ingredients visibly procured with local care as their kitchen is in the open. I today got my faves, bistec tostadas which are always soft meat with perfect frying and the bistec platter which is a huge steak portion with similarly generous rice and beans (non-refried type, just pinto cooked with pork sauce) and these are so totally satisfying everytime. I realized I tend to order here when I'm ill or when the holidays aren't happy which is what's happened again, raising my mood considerably. They've been a longtime (9y to my knowledge with many more per neighbors) stay of the community. It's initially known to most for being directly across from the B/Q Kings Hwy station CI-end exit at the B2/31 bus stop, but its customer's loyalty is from heartfelt cooking and staff alike.
