Ok so for starters I ordered food here from grubhub. Anytime I get Mexican food I always order a side of those cambray onions. Which in every other place they put a good 5 pieces. Reasonable. And also ordered the carne enchilada nachos *which were BOMB btw* Now why 3 stars ? Because I've ordered from here before and the last time put 4 onions.this time they only gave me 3 onions. SKIMP!!! They did not give me any utensils or any sauce for the nachos. There was also no lettuce in my nachos. Idk if I'll order from here again which sucks cause their nachos are really good. read more

This is a review strictly for service. Twice I've placed a delivery order via Doordash and had the order cancelled after being delayed 3-4 times/reassigned dashers. And both times I had to call doordash for them to tell me the order was unexpectedly cancelled. Not saying my doordash experience is perfect elsewhere but to have this happen on two separate occasions seems more than chance. read more

On our recent order, we ordered the chicken enchiladas in green sauce, steak burrito bowl, al pastor burrito bowl, and a fish taco. The burrito bowls are huge! It comes with tortilla chips. Every time I've ordered from here I've been really impressed. With COVID we've only ordered delivery but it's fast, portions are large, and food is still steaming when it gets here. Their al pastor tacos and sincronizadas are yum. We love their guacamole too, but it's not on the cheap side. One time our al pastor tacos had meat that was too fatty but that was a write off. Overall this place is awesome and their burritos are excellent too (especially if you're really hungry!) All-round an amazing Mexican option in a neighborhood with an abundance of choices. Ordered here on Friday 10/25, the delivery guy asked me if I was married and proceeded to tell me he liked me. 10/28 i ordered tacos again and saw it was the same delivery guy. When I saw him i made sure to keep the interaction absolutely minimal. Shortly thereafter he text me twice. 10/29 I made a complaint to the restaurant and posted a review on grubhub. An employee called me and told me the delivery man did not work for them. They then requested that I delete the comment and they will send me free food. Soon thereafter, the delivery man called me (which I did not answer) and he text me begging me to delete the comment. This prompted me to make formal complaint to grubhub where I learned the restaurant has self delivery. Please beware - when illegal conduct is reported here, there response is to send you free food rather than ensure your safety. read more

Walking by to find a place to have breakfast and a polite man told me about this restaurant. It so happens that he works there. I'm the first customer for the day. The place is quiet and I can read as I eat. My breakfast is served piping hot. How fries are golden brown, toast has the hint of butter and the egg white spinach omelette with cheese is delicious and could feed two people! read more

Several months later, this place is still one our fave neighborhood places for quality food, service and value. We've tried so many things on the menu (and loved them all), as well as the specials they occasionally offer - definitely go for those. Need a decent lunch near Costco? This is it. One of the best sandwiches I've had in Brooklyn. Heat from chorizo and a pickled jalapeño is mellowed by cheese and avocado. No salsa just pure oil. I complained with Uber eats and they did nothing so I called the restaurant. First Time I called the girl acted dumb right after I complained like she didn't hear me so I hanged up and call again . Sent me straight to voicemail 5 times. Called again and then she was extremely rude said I had to complain to Ubereats because they didn't deliver the food. I order from here all the time on Seamless and finally stopped by last night to pick up some guacamole on the way home. The restaurant was very cute, and the staff was SO NICE. Just a lovely vibe all around. I've tried almost every Mexican restaurant option on seamless, and this place stands out in terms of flavor. They def have the best nachos in the area. I'm addicted to them! The quinoa salad is also really delicious. I'm vegetarian, so between those two items, the guacamole and nopales I've got options. I can only testify to their vegan menu, which is substantial and absolutely delicious. The vegan chorizo, pollo, carne asada, and al pastor are incredibly convincing and satisfy any cravings for meat I may have as a plant based person. The food is always consistently delicious, and while their enchiladas aren't quite as stunning as the tacos, burritos, tostadas, and empanadas, absolutely everything I've eaten from there has ranged from pretty good to absolutely mindblowingly incredible. We order from there a couple times a week and have never had an issue with them accidentally sending us non-vegan items. 10/10 would recommend to anyone and everyone. read more

My new favorite Mexican spot. With so many mediocre Mexican restaurants in the area, this place really stands out. I've only eaten burritos from here, so I can't speak to the rest of their items, but the burritos are excellent. The meat is always on point (I've tried the steak, pastor, carnitas, and chicken), and the portions are solid, without the huge amount of rice that a lot of other local spots throw in there. Plus, bonus points for making refried beans the default, even if I want to change to black. Delivery is super quick, although they don't have it on Yelp yet, only Seamless. It typically says it will take an hour but comes in less than half that, although I'll add that I only live 4 blocks from there. read more

Found this place searching for vegan options in our hood. The options are plentiful - loved the soy chorizo huaraches and soy chicken enchiladas. Red sauce on both has the prefect spice bite level. My favorite Mexican restaurant in NYC. The sopes are the best I've ever had-- I get them with carne Asada on top. The flor de calabaza quesadilla is the best vegetarian Mexican dish I've ever eaten. It's full of squash and corn and squash blossoms and really flavorful. They have decent vegetarian tacos too. The tacos pibil are my favorite tacos. It's bbq pork and super flavorful and not greasy. The shrimp tacos are great too. My spouse always gets the adobo pork or the enchilada burrito (not at the same time, that would be a metric ton of food). Their delivery is incredibly fast. I don't know how they do it! The restaurant is pleasant to eat in too. We love this place. read more

Taqueria el Maguey is the best! Marisol and Luis helped us cater a lunch for 20 in less than 24 hours and we couldn't have been happier with our food or our service. First up: The guac is LEGIT. Flavorful, fresh, and has a little kick that makes it rise above the rest. You can tell it's homemade with love. Our people were literally scraping the bowls with their fingers to get every last drop. The empanadas made folks swoon. Perfectly crispy outside and packed with flavor inside. The tacos were excellent. Perfectly sized and each of the meats we tried (pollo asado, carne asada, carnitas, and chorizo) were better than the last! Plus, our vegetarians were so so happy with the vegan meat options for their tacos, making them feel just as special as everyone else. And the quesadillas were made with real Oaxacan cheese, not some "Mexican" pre-mix. Game changer. My only regret is that I don't live in the neighborhood, so I can't order from them weekly. They have vegan tacos that are actually thoughtful and go beyond iceberg lettuce and refried beans!! They have maybe three types with tvp flavored to taste like chorizo, carne asada and I forget the third. They also have tacos with jamaica (hibiscus) blossoms!!
