The worst customer service I have ever experienced. Yesterday my girlfriend, her family, and I came in for some breakfast. When we walked in, she and I immediately noticed how the bigger sized lady behind the front desk had a weird energy but we brushed it off and ordered our food anyway. While ordering food for two adults and three children, I could tell that the big lady was becoming irritated and rolling her eyes because of how long we were taking to order. WE HAVE THREE INDECISIVE CHILDREN WITH US WHAT DO YOU EXPECT???? Regardless, we brushed off her attitude, finished the order, and found a table to sit at outside. We waited a little while before this really really young girl began to bring out the food. (She seemed to be only 12 or 13 years old, definitely not old enough to be working a job) But soon we noticed that the order in which they were bringing the food out was very strange and staggered. First they bring the order of chilaquiles and the avocado toast, then about 6 minutes pass before they bring out the pozole, and THEN another THEN MINUTES pass before they bring our burrito. Not to mention that they didn't bring out our waters and teas until after ALL the food was already on the table. Two of had to go in and remind them that we ordered drinks. But when we told them, they acted as if they had forgotten about the water altogether. My girlfriend and I had left to take her youngest sister to the restrooms and back at the table, the 12 year old worker had asked the eldest of the kids in our group if she should grab any of the plates for us; to which her brother responded "no, we are still finishing up our food." Regardless of what he said, the little 12 year old waitress took the burrito that our youngest was still eating. (Keep in mind that she had only taken about two bites out of it and what was left was MOST of the burrito). Not only that, but there were two other tables outside that were stacked with used plates and bowls that were left behind by other customers, but they decided to try and take ours away while we were still eating??? It felt as if they were trying to get us out as soon as possible. When my girlfriend and I returned to the table, we saw that the burrito was gone and we were obviously very confused because it was barely eaten. So she got up and went inside to ask for them to bring it back, but on her way up the ramp at the back entrance, she lost her footing and landed hard on her arm. As she flipped over all she could see was the big lady and the 12 year old staring at her from inside. She screamed out "My arm! My arm!" but they only stood there and stared at her. I had hopped out of my seat the moment I saw her on the ground and I went to go help her up. As I was lifting her from the ground, I looked up in front of me to see the two girls staring at me with smug looks on their faces. I said "What are you doing just standing there? You're not going to help?!" To which their response was turning around and ignoring us. After I had lifted my girlfriend from the floor she walked inside and asked the adult behind the counter multiple times for some ice. But the big lady just made the 12 year old grab the ice so she wouldn't have to deal with it. The ice was given to us in a single paper towel that immediately began to rip apart, letting the ice fall out onto the floor. It was then that the manager came out and made the big lady get some ice in a plastic bag , because she was doing absolutely nothing. Not only that, but she didn't even hand us the bag herself; she made the 12 year old give it to us like she didn't even want to be in contact with my girlfriend and I. The LEAST they could've done was bring us ice or ask if my girlfriend was okay but no, they made us feel like fools for asking for their help. WHEN THAT TYPE OF HELP IS JUST COMMON COURTESY; HUMAN DECENCY. This cafe has a sorry excuse of a team working for them and terrible customer service. I will never be coming back and neither will anyone in my girlfriend's family, who are all regulars and have been supporting the restaurant since they moved out here. read more

I like this place alot. I usually have pozole every other weekend sometimes twice in one weekend. I have tried the latte its very good. The young people that run the front are sweet. The older ones are more attentive I refer people i know to go here. On 12/17 i made the suggestion to someone i met at another cafe in shell beach. I over heard the guests asking a waitress for a place he could get menudo or pozole with pata. I sent them your way. We've only ordered breakfast here for pick up, but the food is delicious, plentiful and not too pricey. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Inside is small and quaint. When the weather is better, we'll try the outdoor patio. read more

Hidden GEM!! On our recent trip to Pismo Beach, we decided go take a little drive while enjoying our coffee. We came across a little town called Guadalupe. We commented on how great it would be to have some chilaquiles. We saw many great reviews for Mexican food in this small town so we picked one--very reminiscent of the area where we live. We didn't see them on the menu but he assured us they would make them and it was enough food for both of us. Probably the best chilaquiles we have ever had! The green sauce was incredible. The young man that was working was so friendly and helpful--this guy is definitely a shining starThe storefront is small and super clean. They have a patio for outdoor dining but was unavailable due to the pandemic. We happily scarfed our food down in the car and looking look forward to returning to the Guadalupe Cafe. The place is clean, decorated beautifully, and friendly service. They have so much to offer from coffee and smoothies to tri-tip plates and chicken meatball soup. Their pastries are delicious and neatly decorated. The prices are not bad either. The patio is inviting and well put together. Here's another hidden gem in good old Guadalupe! If your looking for a great place for breakfast they have an awesome bowl of menudo with "fresh homemade corn tortillas" (corn only). The menu is simple and the plate portion will meet mosts expectations. The trip-tip Chilaquiles have to get an honorable mention as the that's my go too when I'm visiting this hidden gem! I've always been a menudo type of gal. My guy just ordered me some menudo for Mother's Day and boy do we love it. Great taste good amount of meat and granos. I've been here a few times now everytime I come into town. I always have the tri-tip sandwich and each time it has been consistently delicious. Good size sandwich with a good amount of meat, tender and juicy, and always hits the spot. I can taste the smoke from the BBQ. Fair prices compared to what I have to pay in Santa Barbara for a tri-tip sandwich and it's better at the Guadalupe Cafe. The owner and staff are always friendly and the place is nice and clean. I'll be back next time I'm in town! I'll have to try other things, but I really like the tri-tip sandwich. read more

Me and my boyfriend are long distance so we really value any time we have together. We came here around 8:03 and ordered at 8:05. The people that came in after us got their food before us. If they didn't have forgotten about us, we could've been able to spend that extra 20-30 minutes doing the stuff we have already planned. The lady who took our order, we were sitting right in front of her and I'm wondering how she didn't notice we didn't have our food yet? We had to ask her and she said we were supposed to have our food by now. Then she went in the back and got a guy. If we didn't ask, they wouldn't have given it to us. In total we waited 45 minutes for our food. That sucks. The guy said sorry which we appreciate and he also let us have free banana bread but it still doesn't change the fact that we could've been doing something else with our time than waiting. Wonderful experience! We popped in before we went to Guadalupe dunes coming from San Luis Obispo and decided to get coffee and a snack. We could not be more pleased. The food was great, the detox smoothie was delicious, and the coffee was excellent! We had a peanut butter chocolate oatmeal bar that seems to be housemade and out of this world. Not to mention the staff was super friendly and accommodating. I love Guadeloupe and I love the Guadalupe Cafe would totally come here again! read more

Menudo is our go to almost every Sunday. But their bbq chicken huarache chilaquiles are over all great as well, Def recommend coming here. If you're in a rush don't bother of going everything is made fresh including hand made tortillas, so definitely take some time for orders to come out but we'll worth the wait !!! read more

First time at this cafe! If you're a local I totally recommend! I knew of this place by following VISITGUAD on instagram. They post all local activities going on, including local restaurants! Here we have a large horchata, green chilaquiles plate w/ sour cream, over medium eggs w/ red & green salsa on the side. The 2nd plate is also green chilaquiles w/sour cream on the side, scrambled eggs & a large cup of matcha latte. (NOT in the pic) but we also got a large cup of hot white chocolate coffee! Soooooooo yummy! Way better than Starbucks. You must try! The portions for my bf and I were too small, perhaps a bigger plate would've been better. But overall the food is good! You can definitely taste the difference in food made from scratch served freshly made. The place is a little hole in the wall, very nice, very clean, there are two large black double doors that take you to their patio. Very nice, calm and home like. Love it here. The cutest little cafe in the tiny town of Guad. We just move to the area and the one downside is there aren't many places for food around here, but this little cafe truly stands out as a small metropolitan piece of Guadalupe. The coffee was TO DIE FOR and my breakfast croissant melted in my mouth. We will definitely be returning over and over. read more

This place is great! If your driving on Hwy 1 stop by and check it out. They have the perfect amount of coffee and food. I had a sugar free Almond Milk Latte made with their gourmet special blend coffee, it was delicious. When you walk in don't let the size fool you, their is a nice huge outdoor seating arethat is very comfortable. There is even a special bike rack for cyclists. Such a wonderful cute coffee shop!!!!! I took my family from back east here this morning after hiking Oso Flaco Lake. We all loved it. Everyone was super nice. They have a huge patio that is dog friendly always an added plus. While enjoying our coffee and smoothies on the patio which were very good they gave us all sample bowls of their soups was very nice and delicious. We are all definitely coming back. If you sit in the patio I did get 2 flies in my coffee but I was almost finished with it next time I will get a to go cup with a lid. read more

My hopes were very high for this Cafe! And every hope I had was met! We recently moved to a new home development in Guadalupe and I was beginning to feel very isolated in this very small town.( don't get me wrong it has its charm) but it was lacking a cute little cafe! The food is great, we had the breakfast burritos that are the perfect size and the coffee was good as well. I really wanted to love this place since I'm local and driving to a cafe or even starbucks is at least 20 minutes away. But I went in and ordered a chai tea latte and they gave me coffee! When I brought it back, they acted like they'd never heard of that drink and I had to tell them how to make one. I also was not real excited that if you want to have some sweetener added to your drink, you have to do it yourself and it's behind the counter. Also, they have nothing on the menu that matches what's actually in the store. Took my wife and our little one out to check this place out. My wife had visited this past weekend and wanted to give this place another shot and sure enough we had a very good experience. The staff was prompt, greeted us right away, and made us feel welcomed. We ordered two mocha frappes and one chocolate muffin. We will be back for sure.
