The guac is so good and they actually had a Mexican pizza on the menu! Which I do t think I've seen outside of Taco Bell. The outdoor seating was comfortable. Excellent service.

The receipt and the 18% gratuity our waiter decided to give himself

Went for a late dinner while in the area and the experience was not good to say the least. I got shrimp tacos with a mango margarita and my boyfriend a burrito. Our food was not flavorful; my soggy tacos came with what tasted like thousand island salad dressing. I only took a few sips of my margarita but the taste of artificial flavoring was overwhelming. The worst part was the waiter Rudi giving himself an 18% tip for a party of 2! When addressed he acted like this was default and aside from what the customer tips. We respectfully didn't agree and he tried to act like he did not understand what we said and stopped looking at us directly. My boyfriend then repeats in Spanish he was going to tip but doesn't agree with an automatic gratuity and it is not honest. When we asked to speak with the manager, Rudi looks back inside, discreetly crouched down and quietly said it's ok, and not necessary saying he would remove it! Do NOT eat here!

Amazing guacamole! Fajitas were delicious! The service was wonderful, so glad we went !

Guac, chicken chimichangas, chicken chalupa and enchilada, veggie fajitas

After spending a day at Virginia Beach, we went to Guad's for dinner after checking out the menu and being satisfied with the extensive options. We got guac, chicken chimichangas, chicken chlaupa and enchilada, and veggie fajitas. The guac was delicious and definitely fresh, but it was hard for us to finish with everything else we ordered. I loved my chicken chimichangas and the chicken chalupa was pretty good, but I felt that the Taco Bell chalupa shell was superior. The veggie fajitas came with an impressive amount and variety of vegetables but my friend ran out of tortillas to build her fajitas.

Delightful place with outdoor seating. Hubs and I came here after arriving to Va beach hungry and late at night. We strolled for some food options but this place caught our eye . It was the one place that was busy , served food, and had plenty of drink options. They immediately served us chips and salsa which was tasty. Hubs had the chimichangas and loved it. He enjoyed the wonderful white meat chicken even better than the beef chimichanga. It was such a good portion that he couldn't top it off all the way. I had the chicken taco salad. It was delicious! The chicken was excellent quality, all white meat (my fave) and plentiful. We asked for hot sauce and they brought out a bowl of house made spicy sauce. It was tasty and it wasn't chipotle style smokey which we both aren't a fan of. I had the house margarita on the rocks and since it was so big I asked for a to go cup and they happily gave me one. It was one of the best margaritas I've ever had. Not over powering sour mix- just a perfect balance of Cuervo and lime .

Food was really good and the service was excellent! The chimichanga lunch special was only $12 and a decent portion for lunch.

6/30/19: Located on 21st Street! Excellent service and super convenient location when looking to dine downtown near the Oceanfront. Two large Latino families were dining here; that just reaffirms that this place serves authentic dishes! The appetizer cheese quesadilla could have been melted a bit more but was generous with the cheese. All of our enchiladas were filled to the edges with huge CHUNKS of chicken and the cheese enchiladas were stuffed, not flat like at some other places! The salsa is fresh and delicious and the service is always attentive.

Wait: None Server: Both guys were nice and attentive. We sat at the bar. Food Quality& Order: I ordered a no shell Taco Salad. He ordered a Chicken Quesadilla. It was all decent. Meaning if you've had "real Mexican" then this doesn't compare but it was good, tasty, quick Mexican food. Would definitely stop in again when in the area. Atmosphere& Decor: I was so attracted to the authentic color palette. It was bright and cheery inside even on a super rainy day! I loved the bar set up. Would love to see what it looks like in the Summer. We were the only people there for a little which was also nice. It was quiet, we watched some futbol, and we enjoyed our food.

Pina colada - with very bad lighting. But delicious!

Here's the deal: Jessy's is located in a small shopping strip. While the building is a little older I did not think l it run down or in a part of town that I would consider questionable at all. I saw at least one review that noted this- could not disagree more., nothing to fear here. Plenty of parking and it's free! Once inside the restaurant is medium sized with seating for at least 15 parties and tables that can accommodative larger parties, 10+ people. There are two order stations at either side of the restaurant - one for hot food the other for ice cream and desserts. Service was friendly and attentive. You can choose to self order for takeout or be waited on. While staff wait on and bring you food and drink, pay is self pay at the food order counter. The menu is larger and has something for everyone. Proteins are optional for nearly every dish. The food here is authentic with lots of protections including some of my favorites- Al pastor and chicken tinga. Chips and salsa are scratch made and fresh- very good. We had street tacos which were very flavorful and also scratch cooked including the corn tortillas. Served with traditional hot sauces to add that little extra heat- awesome. The Al pastor was not grilled to get that char that some Al pastor dishes have but was otherwise spot on. Chicken tinga was perfect. If you are looking for authentic Mexican at reasonable prices, this is your place and absolutely worth a few minutes drive over. Hope to see you there sometime- happy eating!

Happy hour was 3-6pm I think, and there were 2 taco specials on the board. I'm not sure if it was valid or not.. There was one person at the bar taking orders, serving drinks, and pretty much running the place. She was very busy. The anxiety of watching her try to handle everything made me a little uncomfortable. She was doing her best, and kuddos to her for not flipping a table and walking out. She was nice, but she asked us every 3-4 minutes if we knew what we were ordering. It was very aggravating. I don't think she realized after several times we were over it. The inside is pretty much a bar setting with a few booths. It's very dated and low-key kind of gloomy inside. I'd say this is a bar for locals, not really a restaurant. It's definitely the kind of food you could eat if you had a few drinks, maybe. But sober, heck no!! Lol. Ugh. I was excited to try them because they have some 5 star reviews, but it wasn't what I expected. When it was time to eat she went and got the cook from outside. We ordered 2 burgers and fries, and chicken nachos. We left and came back to pick up our order and the seats at the bar was packed at this point. The waitress met us as we walked in, with our food. I was hungry, so I tried the food in the car. The burger was definitely a frozen patty and thick as heck. It looked decent kinda sorta, in a way, maybe, just a little bit. Idk what to say. The fries were crispy but awkwardly greasy!! There was one tiny tomato on my burger and a huge onion that was a little moldy. I've never seen someone use a slice of onion this big on a burger. The burger definitely needed seasoning. I think if it had flavor it would have been decent. I'll give the burger a 4/10. My sister got the chicken nachos and she was not happy. Whatever mystery beans they had made were disgusting. They tasted old or something was off about them. The guacamole was a little sour tasting also, and the chicken was flavorless. She tried so hard to make it work, she even re-cooked the beans and it just didn't help. 2/10!!! She spent $25 and felt it was the worse decision she made all day. I wish I was exaggerating or something, but this is actual factual. The prices are reasonable, I'll say that. But it's definitely certain things to stay away from on the menu. I don't think we'd ever return. Maybe the tacos are better than what we had ordered. If you're looking for a drink maybe things would be better. I think they specialize in drinks over food!?
