This is my go-to place. The food is delicious and reasonably priced and the staff including Diane are extremely friendly and courteous. It is definitely a hidden neighborhood gem. I highly recommend the Margarita Grill.

Do not drive by this dive bar in a divey shopping center. It's a locals bar with lots of regulars. You feel like you will be a regular only going a couple of times. I have been here many times YEARS ago and stopped by again last night. Same great food, cold drinks and attentive friendly bartenders and great prices! They have daily specials so I had 2 fish tacos for $2 each and they were packed full of fish. No skimping. And they were crispy and delicious. My husband got a salad with Ahi Tuna and he was impressed and the tuna was delicious. I will definitely be back sooner rather than later. They have plenty of tv's and games like bowling and golf. The bathrooms are a bit iffy and need some work but I will not let that stop me from going.

Margarita Grill is a great place to meet and hangout with friends. My hubby wanted to celebrate his birthday here and that is what we did on 11/19/2022 and invited all of our friends and a good many showed up. The owners are great and the two bartenders working handled all of us, they worked really hard as I am sure we were a little overwhelming. Andi the owner decorated for my hubby's birthday and it was awesome. Love their food especially the Margarita bites and Shrimp tacos. The drinks were good and kept coming. They have a good happy hour to till 9pm. If you need a good neighborhood bar to hangout, this is your place.

Came here one Friday night craving tacos. Seen online they have fried chicken tacos, had to check it out. Nice little place and food was great. Only thing I would say is that the fried chicken taco needed more sauce. Other than that, come check this place out!

Virginia Beach, Virginia --- my 1st visit to the "Margarita Grill" was a pleasant surprise ... the "Margarita Grill" offers the feel of a neighborhood bar & featured "Run-A-Way Bill" Favorite bartender "Diane" ... my $5 Tuna Taco was tasty-riffic & filling ... the "Torture" sauce lived up to it's name - WOW-riffic! "Run-A-Way Bill" was here! #RunAwayBill 02.24.20

Hands down, best shrimp tacos here in Virginia Beach! The taco is overflowing with fresh, tender fried shrimp. The flavor is on point, very limey and delish! Hubby got the fried chicken tacos and those were pretty amazing as well. The sauce they use is amazing, but couldn't quite put my finger on what it was. We ordered the chips and queso as a starter and it came out hot, cheesy, and with a little bit of a kick. Definitely recommend this place!

Taco trio meal. Fried chicken, spicy shrimp, and fish

Their fried chicken taco is life changing. I've never had anything like it. Their spicy shrimp taco is loaded with so much shrimp it's rolling off each side. The fish taco is grilled to perfection. If their cook ever leaves I'll be depressed. I've eaten here a least half a dozen times. The food has always been fresh and flavorful. There's usually the same three people working. I wish I knew their names because they deserve a shout out. I can tell this is sort of like the Cheers of Virginia Beach. There's a diverse crowd of all ages. It's definitely a spot where the locals go. The music is always good, it's never too loud or crowded, the service is friendly, and the food can't be beat for the prices. I've tried just about all of their tacos and have had the nachos, steak bites, and chips and queso. The tacos come with fresh topping on the side. Lettuce, Tomato, lime, and a blend of onion and cilantro. Be careful, the bowl for the queso comes straight to you from the oven. Trust me, my friend wishes someone would have warned her before she burned her fingertips. Nothing a margarita or two didn't help her forget. Even the queso had fresh tomato and peppers in it. It never got hard after it cooled down like it does at some other places. Update 4/2/19: the shredded beef has a strange smell and taste. The texture is tough to chew. We ordered beef nachos and a beef taco. We did not eat the beef because it was unappetizing. The nachos had trace amounts of cheese. Really disappointing. I doubt I'll go back for food now. The kitchen staff has changed. If they change the beef it may be worth another chance. What they are serving now has got to be some packaged precooked beef or something. It's very low quality.

The queso only looks green cause of the lighting. It was tasty.

This is a neighborhood bar. How do I know that? Well when I walked in, it was as if I told them Large Marge sent me. Everyone stops what there doing to stare at you for a good 15 seconds, the juke box screeches to a halt, absolute silence minus the glass shatter in the background....then they go back to getting their drink on. It can be uncomfortable for some but I was that perpetual new kid growing up so all I cared about was whether I seat myself or not. Tacos were decent. Bartender/service was friendly. Have zero complaints.

Hamburgquesa!!! Description sounded as good as it looks. Tastes even better.

Looove this little homey bar. Been here both liquored up like the Royal Crown wearer I am, AND sober *** Gasp! Both times my food literally has my mouth watering. I snuck here without my best friend this time (ssshhhh)... it's supposed to be "the spot". That explains the comfort here with fellow patrons, the beautiful waitress and her bartending skills, and of course the food. Don't knock it until you try it.

You would never suspect the great atmosphere of this venue from the location. But the charm of the place really isn't the story. This is the kind of place that offers a gastro pub menu and they do not disappoint with a familiar yet unique menu offering some truly great dishes and perhaps the best burgers in VB. Definitely coming back.

We came here for Valentine's Day with a reservation for three (2 adults and a child). We were…read moregreeted warmly and seated right away, which was impressive given how busy it was. Our first table ended up being under a spotlight that was directly in our line of sight (it looked like it was meant for the specials board), so we asked to move. Staff was accommodating and got us to a better table quickly. The space itself is really nice. It was clean, rustically decorated, and the live plants in liquor bottles on the tables are a nice touch. Our server was friendly from the start and took drink orders right away. My daughter and I had sodas, and my husband ordered the Southern Charm Old Fashioned off the specials menu, which he enjoyed. The menu is on the smaller side, which we actually like. One unique detail was the option to "buy a round for the kitchen," which we thought was a really nice touch and decided to add it when we ordered our appetizer. We started with the fried deviled eggs after a friend recommended them. They were creative with three styles (classic with pickle, togarashi ginger, and crispy prosciutto), but overall a bit on the dry side and not as flavorful as we expected. We asked for Dijon, but they don't have it. Our server suggested and brought out the Baja dipping sauce instead, which did pair well and kind of improved them. My husband had the fish and chips and really enjoyed it. He said the fish was flaky and well cooked. I ordered the Union grilled cheese, which unfortunately seemed like it had been sitting a bit before being served, as the bottom was soggy. It was just okay overall and not particularly memorable for the price. The sweet potato fries on the side were the clear standout. They were crispy, the perfect balance of sweet and salty and honestly the best part of the dish. Our daughter had the kid's smashburger. It was exactly that. Service throughout the meal was good. She was friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and there when needed. The main disappointment came at the end. When our meals were served, the server actually offered sauces at the table (ketchup, mayo, ranch, etc.), and specifically suggested items like the baja sauce for the eggs and ranch to us. Because of that, we were surprised to see several charges for the sauces on the bill, especially since they were offered and recommended at the table with no mention of any additional cost. We were also charged a credit card fee, with no signage anywhere (entrance, hostess stand, or menu) indicating that paying with a card would include an extra charge. It just left an unnecessary sour note on an otherwise solid, casual meal. Nothing was bad, and nothing really stood out as exceptional, but the lack of transparency around those final charges really impacted the overall experience for us.

I walked in, and the entire room seemed to stop. People turned and stared. I smiled at a few of them, hoping to break the tension, but they just kept staring. I sat down at the bar and waited quietly -- five, maybe ten minutes. I had no problem being patient as I understand bartenders can get busy. But while I sat there, I watched her serve others, chat with regulars, and even tell one that she'd just given him some fresh drinks. She continued cleaning her bar but never once acknowledged me. Not even a "Hi" or "I'll be right with you." Then she poured herself a Red Bull into her personal cup, walked right past me, and struck up a friendly conversation with the man next to me -- loud and casual -- asking if he was "golfing this weekend." That made it clear: she wasn't going to serve me. As a BLACK veteran, that moment hit hard. This bar, with all its patriotic décor, made it clear that their version of "supporting the troops" doesn't include people like me.
