My sister and I decided to try this spot because we saw that they had special's and it was taco Tuesday. When we walked in we were greeted by the bartender. Happy hour was 3-6pm I think, and there were 2 taco specials on the board. I'm not sure if it was valid or not.. There was one person at the bar taking orders, serving drinks, and pretty much running the place. She was very busy. The anxiety of watching her try to handle everything made me a little uncomfortable. She was doing her best, and kuddos to her for not flipping a table and walking out. She was nice, but she asked us every 3-4 minutes if we knew what we were ordering. It was very aggravating. I don't think she realized after several times we were over it. The inside is pretty much a bar setting with a few booths. It's very dated and low-key kind of gloomy inside. I'd say this is a bar for locals, not really a restaurant. It's definitely the kind of food you could eat if you had a few drinks, maybe. But sober, heck no!! Lol. Ugh. I was excited to try them because they have some 5 star reviews, but it wasn't what I expected. When it was time to eat she went and got the cook from outside. We ordered 2 burgers and fries, and chicken nachos. We left and came back to pick up our order and the seats at the bar was packed at this point. The waitress met us as we walked in, with our food. I was hungry, so I tried the food in the car. The burger was definitely a frozen patty and thick as heck. It looked decent kinda sorta, in a way, maybe, just a little bit. Idk what to say. The fries were crispy but awkwardly greasy!! There was one tiny tomato on my burger and a huge onion that was a little moldy. I've never seen someone use a slice of onion this big on a burger. The burger definitely needed seasoning. I think if it had flavor it would have been decent. I'll give the burger a 4/10. My sister got the chicken nachos and she was not happy. Whatever mystery beans they had made were disgusting. They tasted old or something was off about them. The guacamole was a little sour tasting also, and the chicken was flavorless. She tried so hard to make it work, she even re-cooked the beans and it just didn't help. 2/10!!! She spent $25 and felt it was the worse decision she made all day. I wish I was exaggerating or something, but this is actual factual. The prices are reasonable, I'll say that. But it's definitely certain things to stay away from on the menu. I don't think we'd ever return. Maybe the tacos are better than what we had ordered. If you're looking for a drink maybe things would be better. Well. It was a Tuesday afternoon my sister and I had to stop past the beauty supply store. So my sister was like, do you want to try this place " Margarita Grill". So I was down smh. It's a bar a little dive kinda spot I had ordered the bacon cheeseburger for my boy, the grilled chicken nachos for myself. I can appreciate that they didn't put the toppings on the nachos or burger. My sister has gotten some kind of burger also lol. I get dropped off gave my son his food looks like it's about to be good lol until he heats it up for a second, I put all the fixings on my nachos right. Believing things was about to hit smh nope.. my kid said mom I appreciate you bringing me something to eat home but.... The burger tastes like nothing was like chewing sawdust bacon was the only thing to taste alright, fries were ok though. now lol for my nachos looks can be deceiving. My lettuce was brown and wilted, was supposed to be like a refried beans I guess ‍ they were kidney beans looked those. When i say they smelled like I was taken back by the look of things but when my crazy self tasted that mess my lawdt smh had my stomach doing flips. Also the guacamole tasted like that was old and sour. I have had guac with too much lemon or lime juice in it, this was like past its time only looked ok due to the lemon juice or whatever. Will not be doing that again. The ambiance was chill a few of those slot games bar area in the middle of the place a few tables around it nothing to really hype up. Do not drive by this dive bar in a divey shopping center. It's a locals bar with lots of regulars. You feel like you will be a regular only going a couple of times. I have been here many times YEARS ago and stopped by again last night. Same great food, cold drinks and attentive friendly bartenders and great prices! They have daily specials so I had 2 fish tacos for $2 each and they were packed full of fish. No skimping. And they were crispy and delicious. My husband got a salad with Ahi Tuna and he was impressed and the tuna was delicious. I will definitely be back sooner rather than later. They have plenty of tv's and games like bowling and golf. The bathrooms are a bit iffy and need some work but I will not let that stop me from going. read more

I took my two 20 something sons this Thursday around 7pm to try out some food which I heard was unique and tasty. I did not get to try anything as the U-shaped bar had 20-25 folks and one poor bartender slopping drinks. We took a chance and grabbed a table past the bar. After about 10 minutes it was evidence she was alone and there were no other wait staff coming. We left and went elsewhere. No knock on the tender as she was slammed - that is probably a management mistake if Thursdays are a big bar night just in case someone wants to try the food & not sit at the bar. read more

My hubby wanted to celebrate his birthday here and that is what we did on 11/19/2022 and invited all of our friends and a good many showed up. The owners are great and the two bartenders working handled all of us, they worked really hard as I am sure we were a little overwhelming. Andi the owner decorated for my hubby's birthday and it was awesome. Love their food especially the Margarita bites and Shrimp tacos. The drinks were good and kept coming. Hands down, best shrimp tacos here in Virginia Beach! The taco is overflowing with fresh, tender fried shrimp. The flavor is on point, very limey and delish! Hubby got the fried chicken tacos and those were pretty amazing as well. The sauce they use is amazing, but couldn't quite put my finger on what it was. Their fried chicken taco is life changing. I've never had anything like it. Their spicy shrimp taco is loaded with so much shrimp it's rolling off each side. The fish taco is grilled to perfection. If their cook ever leaves I'll be depressed. I've eaten here a least half a dozen times. The food has always been fresh and flavorful. There's usually the same three people working. I wish I knew their names because they deserve a shout out. I can tell this is sort of like the Cheers of Virginia Beach. There's a diverse crowd of all ages. It's definitely a spot where the locals go. The music is always good, it's never too loud or crowded, the service is friendly, and the food can't be beat for the prices. I've tried just about all of their tacos and have had the nachos, steak bites, and chips and queso. The tacos come with fresh topping on the side. Lettuce, Tomato, lime, and a blend of onion and cilantro. Be careful, the bowl for the queso comes straight to you from the oven. Trust me, my friend wishes someone would have warned her before she burned her fingertips. Nothing a margarita or two didn't help her forget. Even the queso had fresh tomato and peppers in it. It never got hard after it cooled down like it does at some other places. Update 4/2/19: the shredded beef has a strange smell and taste. The texture is tough to chew. We ordered beef nachos and a beef taco. We did not eat the beef because it was unappetizing. The nachos had trace amounts of cheese. Really disappointing. I doubt I'll go back for food now. The kitchen staff has changed. If they change the beef it may be worth another chance. What they are serving now has got to be some packaged precooked beef or something. This is a neighborhood bar. How do I know that? Well when I walked in, it was as if I told them Large Marge sent me. Everyone stops what there doing to stare at you for a good 15 seconds, the juke box screeches to a halt, absolute silence minus the glass shatter in the background....then they go back to getting their drink on. It can be uncomfortable for some but I was that perpetual new kid growing up so all I cared about was whether I seat myself or not. Tacos were decent. Bartender/service was friendly. Wow!!!! What a find!!! Stopped in with my daughter. We split a shredded beef burrito (daily special $5) It was huge and delicious. We couldn't finish it. We also had very fresh guacamole and the marg bites ($4 and so amazing!!!). Only downside was they should give you a warning on their sauces. I thought the red one was a runny pick de gallo. Nope!!! I loved that they had specials and I ended up ordering the Spicy Tuna Tacos, an order of $5.00 chicken nachos, and a top shelf margarita. It was happy hour until 9, so the BF ordered a few beers. It is very deceiving from the outside and strip mall it's in. It got the job done though. Found it on yelp on our way out of Virginia Beach and heading home to PA and my son wanted Mexican food. Decor and inside is very chill. If I was sitting by a beach and this was my walk up bar it'd be perfect. Overall vibe is relaxed. Had games to play, even ladder golf. Didn't have any alcohol. I had the chicken burrito bowl, son had beef burrito bowl and my husband chicken and fajita tacos. Hubs said the fajita tacos were outstanding. Beans could've used a bit more flavoring. Burrito bowls were big portions and neither of us finished them. I enjoyed the chipotle sauce on the top. It helped add flavor. Also had chips and queso. Queso had good flavor but was runny at first. This local dive bar is located at London bridge plaza directly on the corner beside Tuesday Mornings. It's a hidden gem unnoticed.. If it wasn't for the Tjmaxx and Tuesday Mornings I wouldn't have noticed this place. This spot is a typically only known to the locals of this area because it seemed like everybody about new each other in there. The vibe and local flare brought at this place is relaxing and a inviting. Walking into this place the first thing you notice is this huge bar. It's attracting, along with the island flare of reggae music playing in the air as everyone chills underneath the grass thatching embroidering the bar. Its like we are at a tiki bar at the beach. Although a dive bar wouldn't typically be a place where I would bring my young-ins but the people here didn't mind my boys. They were so excited because they were loving the music, watching some guys playing an interactive game of golf, the vast amount of Tv's, interactive dart board and the beach theme, it's everything attracting and fun. We had the $5 special that came with 2 tacos and a side of margarita bites. The gooey center of the bites got me ordering a round two to go around. I also ordered lumpia(pork crispy spring roll) and a $2.75 tequila and pineapple drink. Everything I ordered costed me almost $19 I love the price and the laid back environment. The waitresses and the bartenders were so friendly made sure we had a good time. The local customers here were really nice too. But we were sooo hungry for lunch, and Yelp gave this place 4 out of 5 stars, so we decided to give it a solid chance. The special (Monday) was a $1.00 beef taco. I decided to give that a shot and I'm so happy I did! Legit braised beef on a soft flour tortilla - so good! We also had the Margarita Burrito (awesome!), beef nachos (even the half size is more than enough to share!) two more of the dollar tacos, and a chicken soft taco (get it straight off of the menu, don't chance anything!). When we received our check, we noticed that we were charged the full menu price for the tacos at $5 each. When Beth checked with the owner, identified as Jason, he refused to honor the advertised special. Beth was awesome and most apologetic. She insisted on paying personally for 3 of the tacos. We did not want her to absorb that amount, but she was adamant about doing so. I would have given this restaurant all 5 stars had they honored what they had in print. This place was a surprising hidden gem. What the atmosphere lacks the food makes up for. You feel like your in a hula beach hut, listening to country music ordering Mexican food. But holy crap the food was delicious! I had the grilled Baja Fish and blackened ahi tuna tacos and they were some of the best fresh tacos. I LOVE this place, it's one of my regular spots. It looks like a dive bar on the outside but the inside is nice and the food is great. I usually go on Monday nights because the special is $1 tacos from 3 to 9 (spicy chicken and shredded beef only). The fried chicken, shredded beef, and shrimp tacos are my faves. I have yet to find a better shrimp taco than Margarita Grill's. It's got bacon and avocado, how could it be bad? I like that they give you multiple types of sauces too. I go for the most mild of the four. Taylor is a great, friendly bartender. Atmosphere is nice and very chill, and I like the music they play. Kind of a hole a wall place if you're not from the area or if you don't drive around Great Neck. My friend and I met up here for cinco de mayo. They had $5 beef or chicken burrito on special and they were delish. Try pairing it with their hottest sauce (green) and mix with their "sauce that's with everything (yellowish taste like vinegar) to build some intense heat. Whew! We also ordered Coronas and Corona-Rita's on special. Overall our bartender Bryan was awesome and very attentive. He checked up on us and continually filled up our drinks.
