Comparing regular water glass to this giant spicy margarita with tajin on the rim
    Viktoria M.

Amaaaaazing, tasty and authentic Mexican restaurant. And not to mention mega margarita, which was also delicious. If we'll come back to Virginia Beach again we'll be there to enjoy this great food. We sat outside and our waiter brought bowl of cold water for our pup, so yup extra points for this nice gesture, thank You :)

    HORCHATA BAD

I came in with high hopes, but unfortunately, this place didn't live up to them. I ordered the birria, and the consommé had no flavor at all -- completely bland, which was really disappointing. The restaurant seems very understaffed, and the few employees they do have are clearly overworked. As a result, tables that were already done eating stayed dirty since we got there until we left, and service was noticeably slow. Margaritas WERE BAD no measure while the SERVER was making them, I saw everything. I also tried to address my concerns with the manager, but he was unprofessional and dismissive. It's a shame, because the place has potential, but they really need to improve the food quality, service, and management. FROM FAR THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER I'm wondering how they have such a higher start rate Probably they use bots

Lunch combo beef taco, and beef taquitos with rice and beans

Plenty of parking when you can't get to the waterfront spots and you're hungry! We were greeted with a smile and "how are you?" and sat right away in a nice booth. We ordered Dos Equis dark on draft and also got a kids water and two tall waters within 5 minutes. We also got crispy and flavorful tortilla chips, spicy salsa and a cold queso style dip which was spicy too! Our order consisted of two lunch combos, one with beef taquitos and beef taco and smother with a burrito and taco. Combos come with rice and your choice of black or refried beans. They even let you order most toppings as sides (for your kids!) if they don't eat tacos so we ordered our kid a side of avocado and a side of refried beans. It was a whole sliced avocado too which was awesome for $4. The meals came out quickly and really hot. Plates were really hot to the touch as the food runner has oven gloves up to his upper arm to carry and serve them. Ambiance is fun upbeat Latin music and Mexican artwork with plenty of windows and a full bar.

We ate here on a busy Saturday night. Decided the three of us would sit at the bar. A local recommended the margaritas. Got the top shelf and two regular. They were OK. The chips were warm and the salsa good. We ordered a cheese dip with shrimp and chorizo. Dip was very good. Ordered the enchiladas and the Jalisco burrito. Both were good and great with the salsa. Finished the meal with a shot of Hornito's Blanca tequila.

A few good recent visits under the new name...but my understanding ownership never changed hands, but management did. Parking is challenged on weekends. The dining room is comfy and same as previous. Fantastic service with free warm chips and two types of sauce. Don't be shy about asking for more. The guacamole is respectable. Entrees of burritos combos yum. The big boy margaritas will kick your ass and worthy of the 4th star. Hours on weekend have expanded to 1030.

Tequila Jalisco is a decent Mexican restaurant on shore drive. It offers all of the things one would expect from a Mexican restaurant in Virginia Beach. The margaritas are large and they have a machine for the frozen margaritas. The frozen margaritas are too sweet for me but the drink will creep up on you. The Cali burrito was delicious and was the best thing from my experience. Their lunch special is a fantastic value and you get a decent amount of food. However, the shredded chicken on the chicken taco did not have flavor. All in all it's a decent Mexican spot and if you are in the area for lunch and want a cheap meal this is the place to go!

Packed and seemingly well staffed on a Thursday night. No happy hour but lots of offerings for margaritas... skinny, organic, frozen or on the rocks... original, jumbo, monster and dui (yes DUI, lol). Wide selection of combo platters, fajitas, street tacos and a large a la carte menu. Everyone in our party of five found something to their liking. Food arrived quickly, was accurate and very hot! Everything tasted delicious and our server kept drinks full, checking on us frequently. At the end of our meal she even brought us two shot glasses with a special elixir. Cheers!!

This was my first visit to Tequila Jalisco. Last time I was here was during lockdown right after the restrictions were lifted and it was still Guadalajara. Upon entering I couldn't tell any difference. The place looks exactly the same as it did under the old name. We arrived early before the dinner crowd and had our choice of seats and took a window booth facing Shore Drive. Immediately a man appeared and took our drink order and gave us menus. He came back a few minutes later with those and took our order. That was the last time we saw him. The food was served by another person. I tried their Mexican pizza which came with a side of guacamole and another of some white sauce. I also had a beef taco on the side. The date had a burrito of sorts smothered in queso and some other sauce. The food was okay but not great. There was no zest to it. Taco Bell's recently returned Mexican pizza is much better. In fact I have to say I liked Guadalajara much better and not sure that I'll be back. Oh, the check was delivered by a third person.

We hadn't been here since they changed their name, so we thought we'd give it a go. Found out it's the same as the LZ, but with new name and new menu. Great lunch and margarita place.

I will not give this restaurant 5 stars. I give it 10!! From the very beginning to the very end they've impressed me 100%. I needed a table for 18 people on a Saturday evening for my daughter's birthday dinner. When I called in advance they told me they do not take reservations, however they were willing to "hold" the table if we were to make sure we were there on time. Of course we made sure we did! We had one server, Emilio and let me tell you, he was amazing! He was fast, all our orders were correct, and he kept our drinks filled. All our food was delicious! Even with such a large party our food came out faster than we expected. The restaurant was clean and vividly decorated. They had an outdoor patio area for dining outside. One of the servers were actually nice enough to follow our party outside to take some group pictures of us. We had a lovely time here. Good was delicious, fast, and all came out right. I just wish they were closer to us. We are definitely making this our go to Mexican when in the area!

We always stop here for some filling Mexican eats after a long sunny day at the beach. The service is always quick, the wait staff is polite, and the drinks are VERY strong. The food is your typical Mexican fare, nothing special, but decent portions. They were attentive in making sure our table had as much chips and salsa as we could possibly eat! There isn't much parking-but it is Shore Drive so not surprising! They also offer a small patio, and though the main restaurant can be super loud, there is a quieter wing with booths off to the side.

Such a great variety. Fresh fruit of all kinds, french toast, waffles and chicken, biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage , scrabbled eggs, quiche, house potatoes, deviled eggs, and a charcuterie board . On the sweet side they had mini cinnamon rolls, danish, brownies, cookies and cupcakes with the galentine theme. They had chocolate and chocolate covered strawberries with pretty pink food grade glitter. Plenty to choose from and plenty to eat. We loved it. In order to get into the speakeasy it is tickets only. Even though it was a brunch buffet, staff were attentive, friendly and frequently checked on all tables to address any needs or questions. The lovely staff were genuinely happy to take photos for us without any prompting. The flow of the buffet was perfect, and the food presentation was delightfully charming! There was a photo back drop available and the decor was so festive, and classy yet simple. The decor wasn't over the top , it was just the right amount of decorations to add pizzazz and celebrate with festive spirit. We all had a very enjoyable time celebrating Galentine's day! It was a wonderful event in an equally wonderful space. The music was on point, as well as the volume level. It was loud enough to enjoy the music, yet low enough that you could hold a conversation without screaming to hear each other. It was very peaceful and even if you don't choose a booth, the tables on the opposite side of the bar do provide some privacy due to the small partitions. The variety of food offered was just right (not overwhelmingly too many options and not too little options) and the food was tasty. It was an excellent first impression that left me excited to await what other fun events they will hold in the future.

I walked in on 12/3/25 with excitement and anticipation. Boujiee is a tiny place - they could easily be mistaken for a simple bar. Their interior, though, looks modern, organized and clean. Plus, it's well-lit, so it definitely doesn't have that dark look and feel of a bar. Upon entry, a server quickly greeted me and told me I could sit anywhere. She was kind and helpful, and immediately knew it was my first visit. When I confirmed that notion, she proceeded to give me a rundown of the entire menu. She didn't have to do that, but I felt like ordering everything afterwards because everything sounded amazing, haha. I settled on a soda (which they sell in bottles), a couple of bottled beers, the Dougie Fair Dog and Corned Beef Fries. Boujiee's glizzys are meals - each item on their menu is full of ingredients and toppings. Normally, I can devour 2 hot dogs in a single sitting, but at Boujiee you better be hungry to finish off 2 or more. The Dougie Fair includes spicy Polish sausage, grilled peppers, onions, melted cheddar and mustard, all on a hoagie bun. Dougie had some kick, so it wasn't super spicy, but I definitely enjoyed this item. I also had the Corned Beef Fries (crinkle fries, corned beef hash, cheddar, fried egg) which was as hearty as it was delicious. I was barely able to finish them both, but they were so good I almost had to. Based on this visit alone, Boujiee Dogs is a five-star food spot. Along with the impeccable service, this may become a part of my food spot rotation. I look forward to many future visits. Thank you, Boujiee Dogs! JV

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was perfect. We were seated in a booth near the live band, and it created such a fun, relaxing vibe. The dim lighting gave the restaurant a cozy, intimate feel that was perfect for a night out and really added to the overall ambiance. Before our entrées arrived, we couldn't stop eating the focaccia. It was warm, fresh, and so flavorful that we immediately wished there had been more. We also ordered the beef kebabs with chimichurri sauce, and they were incredible. The beef was tender, and the bright, herb-filled chimichurri brought everything together perfectly. Honestly, I could have used another serving of both the bread and the sauce! By the time our main courses arrived, we were already pleasantly full, but that didn't stop us from enjoying every bite. My husband is a creature of habit--ever since our first date, he usually orders the same or very similar dishes. The only reason he branches out is because I love cooking and introducing him to new flavors, or he'll happily steal a bite from my plate when we go out. This time, he ordered the steak with mashed potatoes, and it was cooked beautifully. The steak was tender, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the creamy mashed potatoes. Between the delicious food, the live music, and the inviting atmosphere, this restaurant made my birthday celebration even more memorable. It's the kind of place that's perfect for a special occasion or a romantic date night, and I'd gladly come back again.
