Well, I'm sad to say that I will not be coming to this restaurant again. A while ago when I visited for the first time, the food was delicious. Yesterday I bought a chicken bowl and a pork ribs bowl. We got home and were so excited to sit down to enjoy our dinner. What a disappointment! The chicken was burnt and dry. The rice was just salty with no flavor of achiote seed. The ribs were just boiled and tasteless. The portions are very small and not worth the money. What happened! If you have never eaten there and have no idea what guamanian food should taste like, just travel to Guam instead of eating at this location. Even my husband who was born on Guam, could not finish his meal. The owner of this location should come back and fix the quality of the food. You have added more tables, but if the food is bad and customer service is non-existent......visualize your future. read more

Great spot, nice location and tons of parking. Recently they have expanded their restaurant seating area inside for larger parties/groups. Simple menu and honestly, has a little bit for anyone. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. They do not make you feel rushed, rather they help you order by offering suggestions. I normally get the Guam Bomb which is very delicious with the spicy sauce. My wife keeps it simple with just the "The Bowl" which is grilled chicken and white rice. Lumpia is always a great choice as an appetizer. Overall I will say, their food is great and the location is pretty calm so you do not have to worry about a lot of noise or tons of traffic. read more

This was my first experience eating Chamorro food and wow did it leave a lasting impression. I love island food but among the other island eats, Guam food has topped the list. The Chicken Kelaguen and Red Rice is the staple dish of Guam and it's nothing like I've ever tasted before (maybe this being my first time eating Chamorro food has something to do with that....maybe). This dish really blew me away. I wondered why it even took me so long to find out about Guam cuisine! So since I tried something traditional I also had to try the trendy, fusion style dish as well. That's when I met the Guam Bomb and wow that bomb exploded with flavor. It's their house fries with bbq chicken, grilled onions, swiss cheese, bbq sauce and spicy mayo on top. I can't believe I haven't written a review for this place! 5 Stars for the BEST Guamanian food I've had! Need I say more? Not really, but I'm gonna... Definitely a must try for those Islander food enthusiast. The Mega Lahi Special is what it's all about! Enough to split between 2 people, you still might even have some extra to take home! This entree comes with chicken, beef short ribs and pork spare ribs. All three are to die for... but the rib meat is fall off the bone tender amazingness... yes I'm making up a word to describe its' awesomeness. Love their cucumber salad, kelaguen and red rice too! I've had their catered food too and their prices are pretty reasonable. Location is a bit off the freeway in a stripmall, no problems with parking and they have several tables inside. We came here based off a friend's recommendation after spending the day at Legoland. We had a party of 11 and ordered the Guahan special with pork spare ribs. We also made it just in time for happy hour and ordered a beer with the chicken fried rice. This has got to be the best chicken fried rice I've ever had! It was nice and garlicky with plenty of chicken. It comes with a side of soy sauce, but you don't need it. Another favorite was the chicken kelaguen. It's sour, tangy and had just enough spice. It's served cold so just a heads up. The kadun pika was a bit on the salty side. Parking was easy to find and the service was great. read more

The short ribs, bbq chicken and pork ribs are their mainstay. Add the red rice, some fried empanadas and you're set. I've had their lumpia before as well which was decent. Spam rolls are delish. I had been wanting to try this place for a while. Then I came across a Groupon for this place, so I swung by after work yesterday to try it out. They have lunch specials that go till 3 pm. Portions are a pretty good size. It's located next to the IHOP. I ordered: - lumpia ($0.50/pc, can't use the Groupon towards it though because it's a lunch special) - Guahan Special (pork spare ribs, Chicken Kelaguen and one Empanada paired with red rice and cucumber salad) $12.95 I have never tried Guam food before, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but it was good! They give you a soy sauce/vinegar sauce to go with your food. I asked for extra sauce for the ribs as well. Friendly service, it wasn't busy when I went so I was able to pick any seat I wanted. I would go here again, and I have plenty of food leftover for lunch today. read more

Overdue review. I was visiting my sister, and we were hungry and were searching for a place to eat. We never ate here before, so we thought why not give it a try. We ordered the Guam bomb, sweet and spicy wings, and Guahan noodles. They were all very tasty and flavorful. My sister was craving carne asada fries/super fries, so the Guam Bomb was a great substitution. The spicy mayo and the bbq sauce gave it that Guahan Grill taste where you know you can only taste from GG. I had a positive first experience. Yummy Chamorro food! Finally we are able to get our Chamorro food fix! We ordered the Maga Lahi, which included a sampler of the bbq, kelaguen and an empanada. All the bbq meat were good, but the ribs for me were on point. They were falling off the bones and had that best flavor. The kelaguen was good, but could've been spicier. All people had different styles of chicken kelaguen, and I'm probably used to being it more spicy. The empanada was nice and spicy as well. The highlight of the meal were the banana donuts. The fams have been wanting to try this place out in forever but never had a chance to for one reason or another. Mainly due to the fact that our tummies are always so full leaving my parents house or its simply just out of the way. But our last visit, I made sure this was our first stop on our way down from LA. The food itself, wasn't too bad. We tried the bomb fries and it had a nice kick of spice. Everyone enjoyed the bbq chicken. It was moist and full of flavor. The teenager and boy #3 both annihilated their bbq chicken so quickly that I ended up sharing my food with them. The husband was pretty excited to chow down on his kadun pika but was a bit disappointed. The kadun pika was way too salty that he was having a hard time with it. I personally didn't think the chicken kelaguen had enough flavor and I wasn't too crazy about the empanada. But we enjoyed their red rice, especially with the finadene. The restaurant itself has a nice island vibe to it. The interior is done up nicely. I love how they have canvases of Guam posted, makes you mahalang for Guam. I just checked Orbitz and the cheapest airfares right now between San Diego and Guam start at about $1500 and go up fast from there. Pretty much all of the options have 2 stops: through LAX or SFO, and then through Tokyo, Osaka or Honolulu - obviously there are no nonstops. It is looking like I may not make it to Guam for a while, so maybe Guahan Grill will have to suffice. I'd never had Guamanian food before, but now I've been twice to this restaurant. Guamanian food - with my only data point being Guahan Grill - is a lot like Hawaiian but just a little bit delightfully different. For example, on both visits I started with the Spam Roll, which was delicious. In a Hawaiian place the Spam Roll would typically have sported a soy based sauce - here the sauce is a rich spicy mayo. That is not to say soy sauces aren't featured - a soy based sauce was the star of my chicken fried rice lunch special, which I also liked a lot, especially at the bargain lunch special price of $6.95. That brings me to my next point - the menu has a great variety of tastes at various price points. Last time I had the Poke Tacos lunch special. I liked the poke itself but it was a little buried under sauceless cabbage, and I didn't love the hard taco shells. My buddy liked his chicken stir fry lunch special - I was a little jealous his came with broccoli - mine was uniformly brown, but still very tasty. Even the Lumpias are discounted at lunch - each is only $0.50, max 4 per customer. They are like little egg rolls but maybe a little meatier and richer. Really good, especially with the sweet sauce. The same server helped me on both visits, and everyone we met at Guahan Grill was super friendly. During my second lunch visit there was a big table of Navy guys - I'm pretty sure everyone attending was from Guam. I've had Chamorro food before because my boyfriend is half Guamanian but I've always wanted to dine in a Chamorro restaurant. We live near Long beach and theres not a single restaurant in the area or at least not that I know of. My family, boyfriend and I are here for a day trip and I couldn't not stop by here!!!! It's not in this picture but we also ordered Empanadas, we finished it before I even had the chance to take a picture and they were delicious! We ordered the Chamorro Fried rice, Chamorro style fried chicken and Chamorro style style ribs!!! SO GOOOD! At first I was apprehensive about trying this restaurant because I had no idea what Guamanian food was...but once I tried it this has become one of my favorite local restaurants! To me it's almost like Hawaiian food meets Filipino food. My go to meal: Chamorro Fried Chicken with Red Rice. Sometimes I get the mac salad but I don't like the pineapples in it. This place is truly a hidden gem in Oceanside! Chamorro food is delicious, and if you haven't tried it, you should. It's kind of close to Hawaiian food, with a very slight Asian influence? I'm Filipino, and have family from Guam, and definitely see some similarities in the dishes. My favorite starters are the spam rolls and bomb fries! The spam rolls are similar to spam musubi, but served with this great soy/vinegar type sauce. It's so good! We can put that sauce on anything. The bomb fries are addicting, bite after bite. Then you can even have it as a meal with chicken, it's the Guam Bomb. My go to meal is the Guahan Special, choosing either pork spare ribs or beef short ribs. Then whatever dish you get, get the red rice! We love it. We got the sweet and spicy chicken, it taste super good cause of the sauce plus the red rice.. only complaint is I wonder how much chicken I'm really eating because the sauce and breading is so heavy. Anyways, I highly suggest you check them out to experience Chamorro food. Then my only minor complaint is it's so far off the 78, and the prices are a bit on the high side. My Guahan Special with the beef short ribs is $20! The food is great, but $20 given their target demographic is on the high side. Then my must order bomb fries are literally fries with sauce on them.. I can barely justify the $6. read more

Yummy Guamanian food! I'm from Nor Cal and had to check this place out. Legit! So fun and tasty! Had a Maui Taco feel, with tropical pics and such. Clean restaurant, friendly service, fresh food. Chicken kelaguen is where it's at! Love the citrus kick to it. The red rice was savory and tasty! Also had the homemade dessert and an appetizer I can't remember. Everything was tasty! I was familiar with Guamanian food, so loved it. If you're not adventurous, and don't like Asian-ish food, this might not be your gig. But, try it with an open mind.
