I love this place for several reasons. First, they have a vast selection of ice creams. All unique and decadent flavors. Some you would never dream of! They have fruit bars and Mexican inspired treats. Love them all! There is plenty of seating inside and outside. Easy access from Main Street. The service is hit or miss. This is the main reason we prefer Yogurt Island. I think for us, once we showed up 2 minutes before closing. Yes I know it was close to closing but my daughter begged, we thought we would make it. I pulled up and the attendant inside saw my headlights and walked over to the door and turned on the closed sign. I get it, they want to go home too. Yogurt Island in the next parking lot was open an additional hour so we went there instead and that has been our go-to ever since even though Guanatos is closer to my home. However, despite this, it is a great place for a sweet treat as you stroll our small downtown. Plenty of parking. read more

I've been wanting to try this place for the longest & was a bit disappointed. We felt rushed. I tried to ask about 2 different items on the menu but was told they were the same thing. Excellent customer service from the staff. They were friendly and attentive. I didn't have to wait too long as they seemed on top of it. The place looked clean, light music in the background. I got the strawberries n cream but unfortunately that was a flop. It caught me off-guard because they used frozen strawberries, not fresh ones. My all time favorite ice cream is pistachio anything and they have the best pistachio ice cream I've never had! Huge pieces of pistachio inside not just artificial flavors, which I appreciate a lot! Tbh better tasting ice cream at Baskin Robbins and Cold Stone, and those are just ok to me. Ive had better at other Mexican Dessert Places. Strawberries frozen and sour, and elotes sour. Service was fast, but we were the only folks there at the time. No inside tables, but there were two tables and a bench outside overlooking Main Street. Perhaps above average pricing, scoops were $4 each, with each scope being perhaps slightly larger than the household ice cream scope size. Would I go back? The first time I tried a mangonada, I was in college and I thought it was the greatest thing ever. When I found out Guanatos opened near my home and that they served mangonadas, I knew it was only a matter of time until I got to fulfill my craving once more. Their mangonadas are called chamoyadas which consist of frozen mangos, syrup, chile sauce and a chile tamarind covered straw, and mango ice cream. I came here on a weekend afternoon and bought 6 for my family to try. They have a large variety of ice cream flavors from maiz to tequila. They also serve pop bars and specialty fruit and creme "drinks" This Guanatos location is huge! It's a comfy space, especially if lines get long - and during the time I came, there were quite a few people in the store. They also have patio seating, but it's Oakley...and I honestly wouldn't prefer to sit in the heat. I'm just really grateful I have one 10 minutes away. read more

In this photo we have the bionico and the chamoyada. The bionico came out really good, had lots of fruits except the strawberries were really big. I just wish it was cut more into pieces. Overall it was a great buy especially in this hot weather that we are having. The chamoyada wasn't well mixed. Most of the sauce was at the bottom and not all around the ice cream. It could've been mixed more fairly which would've made the taste a lot better. read more
