I have been coming to polar bear since the beginning. The humble older owners always use to be here and greet us. Now there was 3 young kids who dont even greet or acknowledge us. Skip us and only serve half our orders. We see the other half of the orders just sitting on the counter while the guy flirts and jokes around when he should be working. From what I saw, they use the toppings you chose (strawberry and mango in my case) and pour milk as the base. After that, they roll your ice cream and present it to you quite mesmerizingly. As to the taste, this one was really good. The fresh strawberry and mangos I got were delicious and felt refreshing to eat, even on a rainy day. Terrible service today by a boy named Sebastian. He left my me and wife on hold on the phone for over 10 minutes until we just hung up. When I arrived at the store I told him I was the one on hold for 10 minutes, he laughed and said ohhh sorry... he asked what I wanted to order and before I could order he pointed to the other to girls working there and asked if they could ring me up cause he had to clock out. The store needs some renovations or upgrades so it can look brighter and inviting. They roll the ice cream in front of you which is pretty neat to watch if you've never seen it made (rolled). We ordered Rocky Roll, Mint Chocolate Chips, and Ube (Taro). My niece loved her Rocky Roll it had a lot of toppings, my friend liked her mint she rated it about 3.5 stars. My Ube was ok too. It took a few seconds for the flavor to hit my taste bud. My topping was whipped cream and sprinkles (not a fan). I kind of wish it had white chocolate shavings or Ube sprinkles. This place is such a nice hidden gem in Oakley. Personally the store isn't too big but they provide long benches for you to watch them roll the ice cream as you wait for yours to be made. Maybe 5 tables with an arrange of 2-4 seats each, definitely enough room to stay and eat your ice cream. I think the service was good. Patient when picking flavors and give recommendations when asked. They also work together if not busy to make sure yours is exactly how it should be made. The vibes are off in this place. To start the windows outside are really tinted which, makes the storefront look sketchy! When you're inside the shop, it's clear that they have not renovated or put money in their appearance. There is a polar bear mural on the wall, but all the other surfaces and lighting inside are dingy and dark. The music playing was odd and eclectic. So excited that the opened a rolled ice cream joint in the area. The place is in a small strip mall, modestly decorated but the ice cream is pretty awesome. The prices are reasonable- $5.50 for a small and there are lots of different choices. The small was more than enough but next time, I'll size up because it was so yummy! This is the second time I have been here and it was AMAZE I got the Oreo rolled ice cream. Service was fast, we got there right in time before the after school rush. The woman working in the front was nice and helpful. They have a stamp card where you receive a free ice cream after it is all filled up.
