If you are looking for a quick, cheap fix this is your place BUT be sure to read all the reviews including this one to know that the quality will be quick and CHEAP- IT WAS and the sole owner-Diana with her two workers will not stand behind her servcie. - [ ] BUYER BEWARE You may drive your car off there little cement block thinking you got a deal but be prepared. They use low quality materials and when and if you find a mistake Diana will not take responsibility. She tried to gaslight me into telling me I hit something which we were looking at the same bumper and I hit nothing! She paid me $300 to go away. What small business owner does that?? unless they did something wrong? I expected her just to fix your mistake since my my front bumper was covered in spiderweb, cracks and flaking after just 2 1/2 months. She tried gaslighting me telling me I had hit something even though it was obvious that no such thing happened. I will be getting the remainder of my money from Small Claims Court. Three commercial auto body shops confirmed that it was for workmanship and poor materials that were the only way I would end up with the cracks you're seeing these pictures. So don't let the superficial fool you into believing you're getting a great deal or a good work because you're not it's worth the extra couple hundred dollars to have a professional fix your car. If I could leave less than one star I would. I was warned that she might say the following, and she said them all: * "That's normal settling" * "Plastic bumpers do that" * "Stone chips caused it" * "You must have hit somethin Advice: stay far far away. I don't have enough nice words for Guarani's. Skidded into an ice bank a week ago, I walked in for a quote and the nice lady working at the front gave me a VERY fair price and said come back in 3 days and it'll be good as new. Then they called me 2 days later and said it was READY! The car is good as new and you can't even tell where the damage was. This place exceeded all expectations and I recommend everyone in the area to come for all your body shop needs. Truly the best! read more

What a fabulous place! A deer hit my car and fortunately the damage did not impact the engine, etc. but I still needed a new bumper and fender. This was the first time I have used my automobile insurance and Diana from Guarani walked me through the process step-by-step. By the time I reached out to my insurance, I knew exactly what to provide and what information to share. Fortunately, very easy to get to because there is a Bikeshare doc a block away. Everything went so well. Not only did Guarani clean my car before returning it, but even the tree sap was removed from the hood of the car. I was told to pick up my car on a tuesday morning, so I took a lyft but when I got there. I was called several times to write my previous review. I assured that Audi paint would be used on my car (an Audi) in the repair. After having my car for a day, I realized the paint was squishy as if it wasn't dry/cured. I took it back and was told it would be redone correctly. There is not much more I can say about the owner, Fam, than what has already been said. I took my Mazda3 in for repairs on the rear bumper after suffering a rear-ending. From estimate to driving off the lot, Guarani made the process simple and stress-free Estimate: able to do it on the spot, $200 cheaper than Signature Collision down the street Time: took it in on Thursday afternoon, got it back on Monday evening, and I am sure they were working over the weekend. Repair: they did everything short of buying me a new car. Not only did they replace the damaged rear bumper, but they cleaned the car from front to back, inside and out, as well as taking off some paint scrape from a prior incident. Fam is friendly and moves fast and offered me water bottles every time I came there. Couldn't recommend this place more 10/10 would get rear ended again. read more

Took my van to have a simple panel repair done after Reading all the great reviews. Apparently they just glued it on instead of properly repairing it by replacing the clips and using the correct repair technique. Now a few months later it's fallen off again. Guarani has done a wonderful job for us - first restoring my wife's GTI to working order after some idiot ran a red light and destroyed her hood and several other body panels. Later they fixed major scrapes on side and repaired minor wheel-well rust. After the accident Insurance called it total loss but this 2001 machine is still on the road and looks like it just rolled off the line (except for the usual DC bumper marks.). Recently they fixed Other and self-inflicted bumps and scrapes on my Forester. Looks Great. They had it in and out in 2 days, and I don't think you'll find a quality body shop that can rival their pricing. read more

Guarani Auto Body Shop is a place that I wanted to visit but I didn't want to have to visit. The reason I wanted to visit was find out how it got the name. The Guaraní language has given us the words Maraca, Piranha, Jaguar and in Spanish Maracuyá or Passion Fruit. I was so curious as to who was behind this that I had to solve this conundrum. So one night, I was driving home and couldn't figure out why it sounded like I didn't close the back door to my car. I kept hearing wind but I didn't put anything in the backseat. Since I watch Unsolved Mysteries way too much I looked back waiting to see who was in back in wait with a blade. It wasn't that but Quarter Glass (learned that as a result of this) on my side was broken out. Coño! At least I get to answer a question I've had for a minute. The next day I went to Guaraní Auto Body Shop to get a quote. $160 and I could drop the car off and pick it up the next day. I am sure I could have haggled along with getting quotes elsewhere but with a full plate the potentiality of saving 20 bucks was not worth it for me, like that. I just wanted my window fixed. After picking the car up, the outside of it looked fine. They even vacuumed the glass from the backseat. I wasn't expecting them to do that and I didn't leave the glass for them. I was going to take care of that once I washed the car, after the window was fixed. I was waiting for some bad weather to see how the window held up and it has. It has survived the Winter 2018 Wind Storm, rain and snow. Done and done. p.d. The original owner sold the business and the name remains. That answers that. read more

Another stellar job by Guarani's. I went here after exhausting nearby options as well as the dealership after someone hit my parked car. They identified what needed to be done and did it at less than 50% of what others were quoting. I was nervous that the paint wouldn't match since we have a very uniquely blue color paint but you can't even tell where the original paint ends and the touch up begins. Kudos Guarani's! I needed to have my headlight replaced, as it got smashed from an accident. Guarani auto body shop had good reviews and it was much closer than other "DC" auto body shops (many of which were not actually in the city), so I decided to try it out. The manager is not there in the mornings (she arrives at around 2:20 pm), so if you have questions, I recommend calling or going to the shop after 2:20pm. The manager is super friendly and also fair in terms of pricing. Because I needed my car (and I was still able to drive it), after getting my estimate I decided to bring my car back in a couple of days to have it repaired. When I brought it back, I had to wait almost an hour for the worker to come back from lunch. I mentioned this frustration to the manager when I was paying for my car, and she gave me a discount, which I really appreciated! This auto body shop did an excellent job fixing my car, and the exterior looked cleaner overall. Additionally, the pricing was lower than the estimate from my insurance company! This Petworth neighborhood shop does great work at a fair price. Much lower than places through my insurance. It is a go to spot for out of pocket cosmetic work like rust and bumper scratches. I took my '02 Mercedes here twice in last four years and they keep it looking fresh. Note communication can be a little difficult so it is very important that you call after 2PM and speak with Pham. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I was crushed and anxious when I saw that someone had busted my driver's side mirror, as I knew this can be very expensive to fix. But fortunately I found Guarani's, which is conveniently located in Petworth, on Google and Yelp, and they made this crappy situation as pleasant as it could be. I dropped by on Monday morning for an estimate (no reservation needed), and they were so friendly and helpful. They had someone come look at it almost immediately, and he determined I only needed to replace the glass (vs the whole side mirror). This made a HUGE difference when it came to cost. A few hours later, they called me with the cost for the right replacement part (from Honda) and labor. It was incredibly reasonable. They then ordered the part, called me once it was ready, and said I could come by whenever I wanted the next day. So I did, and they were able to install it in a few minutes. Again, everyone was very friendly, and I was just so happy that everything was resolved quickly and at a very low cost. read more

I scraped my friend's car and took it here for an estimate. The friend was mostly concerned about risk of rust, not how the car looked. They gave a reasonable quote to fix the three panels good as new, but when I asked about whether there was any rust risk if we just did touch up paint, she said (honestly I presume, since it's a statement against their interest) it wouldn't and the only reason to fix it was cosmetic. I appreciated their honesty and they did some touching up of the car for free to boot. What nice folks! read more

My 2012 Honda was hit a by a Chevy Silverado, damaging the driver-side mirror, front door, and rear door. I got four estimates and Guarani was the least expensive. Based on the price and the positive Yelp reviews, I decided to go with Guarani. My experience was positive from the get go - I called the shop and was told I could come in the next day for an estimate. The shop is centrally located (if you live in DC) and the estimate was quick. I decided to leave my car with Guarani that day (Friday) and was told the car would be ready on Wednesday the following week. On Tuesday, I received a call that my car was ready! Regarding the work done, the car looks flawless. You cannot tell that any body work was performed and the shop went the extra mile by applying a coat of wax. The fabulous: Located conveniently near Columbia Heights, this little shop worked magic with my dented and rusted bumper. I called them at 6PM, as they were closing, and they waited for me to drop my car off. I'd had my dent estimated before, and the folks at Guarani quoted me FAR lower than anywhere else. My car sustained some moderate body/paint damage that I wanted to get repaired quickly. Guarani provided an estimate in no time, which came in at half the price of a competitor in the neighborhood! They were able to get me in the schedule almost immediately, and did excellent work in repairing the damage; the car looks 100% as it did before the incident. Additionally, while I was there, I had them do some detailing and touch-ups on the other side that I had been meaning to do for a while. They also did a tremendous job with this. Thank you, Yelp--thank you so much. Going to Guarani was my first, real Yelp-based blind leap of faith. And boy am I glad that I made the leap. I'll start from the beginning. A neighbor smashed into the side of my car while parking, which is annoying, but took full responsibility for it, which I appreciated, so no big deal--stuff like this happens. Her insurance company came by to estimate the damage, and ended up sending me a check for about $1700. I didn't cash it, because I was sure that it would cost more to fix--both doors and the panel above the rear tire well were scratched and dented, and I figured it would cost more than that to fix--and I knew that if I cashed the check, the insurance company would be able to claim that I had accepted their settlement offer. I figured I'd have to get an estimate, then send a demand letter to the insurance company, etc. I started hunting for a body shop. Guarani had the best Yelp reviews, but it seemed a little sketchy--it's in a pretty random location, and the reviews said they weren't great with English. I tried calling Jerry's on Capitol HIll, but they were a pain to deal with on the phone. With some trepidation, I decided to check out Guarani based on the uniformly good reviews. I swung by on Saturday, expecting to get an estimate and then to think it over. A man and a woman were both there; i got the sense that they were the owners/managers. They were very friendly and seemed very competent. They checked out the damage to the car, and said they could fix it for a $1000. That seemed too good to be true, but that's when I decided to make my leap of faith. If other Yelpers had had great luck with Guarani, I figured it was worth the risk. So I got everything in writing, made a $300 down payment (on my Visa, they apparently do take credit cards now, but only when the woman who seems to be the manager is there to run the machine, which is not every day) and said I'd drop the car off Monday (I didn't want to be car-less for the weekend). I dropped the car off at 7:30 this morning; they had said I shoud expect it back Wednesday or Thursday. Today at 6:30 they called and said my car was ready today--the same day I dropped it off--if I wanted it. I was surprised it had taken such a short time--and a little nervous that they had done a slap-dash job. I grabbed a cab back, and the manager brought me into the garage where I met the mechanic who had worked on it and saw the car. It looked perfect--i couldn't tell it had ever been in an accident. They seem to have a done a fantastic job for $700 LESS than the insurance company paid me. I MADE money on this transaction. So if my neighbor wants to hit my car again? Go right ahead! I'll just go back to Guarani. read more

I have no complaints about the quality of work done on my Honda. The complaint is in the customer service. I was told the car would be ready by Friday. It was actually ready on Saturday. I'll let that go. I'll even chalk up the two phone calls that I received on Saturday after the one where we confirmed a Monday pick up (after I had to explain that no, I could not pick it up immediately because I was at work) to the language barrier. I'll even chalk up the two phone calls on Monday AFTER the one confirming that I'd come in that day asking for my whereabouts as eagerness even though the woman's tone came off as somewhat blunt and rude. I'll forgive all that. What is unforgivable is that at no point during those six phone calls did she mention that they had done a full $700 paint job above and beyond the necessary repairs and would like for me to toss them an extra $200...which they then tried to raise to $300. I paid them an additional $0. Because you never do something extra that will cost additional money without asking first. That reeks of a scam to me and they will not be getting my business again. read more

Fortunately for you - and unfortunately for me - this review has to begin with an embarrassing story. My need for auto-body work began with a nice little Sat. afternoon trip running errands around the D.C. metro area. As is often the case with running errands on your day off in D.C., what should be a series of quick stop-overs invariably turns into a stressful time-crunch. This stress can make a driver try to do risky things in an attempt to shave a precious few minutes off the drive-time. You know those "soccer moms" that you see erratically driving around in their gigantic SUVs, distracted by their cell phone or some shiny object? Well, that was not exactly me - but it was pretty close. In my case, I thought it wise to try and turn around my girlfriend's SUV in a parking garage, between 2 small posts, on a ramp, and at a blind bend. Not so wise. By the time I left the garage, I had gained a new yellow "racing stripe" on the rear passenger door, a girlfriend nearly in tears, and racing thoughts of the thousands of dollars that error in judgment had probably cost me. Enter Guarani's Body Shop. First, for non-Spanish speakers there is a bit of a language barrier here. Not to worry though, the attendant was able to quickly estimate a price for my body work. A little shocked by the lack of formal written estimate, the location of the shop, and the lack of English spoken, I decided to pursue additional estimates. After a full day of visiting essentially every body shop in the area, I received a wide variety of price quotes, ranging from 1.5x to almost 4x the estimate I received from Guarani. Due to the huge price differential in estimates, my skepticism of the location and the overall informalness of my initial interaction, I was pretty hesitant to go with the lowest of my estimates. However, the shop attendant seemed like an honest guy, so I decided to "risk" it and put my faith in the previous Yelp reviewers. And I was definitely rewarded; the car came back good as new - with a fresh car wash. In total, picking the Guarani Shop saved me potentially $800 in repairs - pretty amazing. If I ever need any other work done in D.C. I will certainly be back again. Hats off to Guarani for being honest in a business full of people looking for one time rip-off sales. read more

I don't have anything to share that hasn't been mentioned in the other reviews, but it seems like few auto body shops are praised the way Guarani is (or praised at all), so I couldn't resist adding to the pile. It's not exactly the most impressive looking place, and I had some reservations when I drove up for the first time (I came solely because of the reviews here), but I was warmly greeted by Pham and we got right to work discussing my estimate. I needed to fix the self-administered "racing stripes" I added to the passenger-side panels of my Accord, but I was curious about cleaning up other minor dents and dings from my years of DC street parking, so I got an estimate for the whole thing. I had gotten an estimate elsewhere, so I knew that I was getting a very fair price. When I decided just to fix the side panels and forgo the minor stuff, she happily adjusted the work order. I could tell that she takes a lot of pride in their work, and rightfully so! My car was ready in three days, and it looks AMAZING. Pham told me to come back for any small scratches and she would take care of it free of charge. She is fully aware that once she gets someone's business, she has a loyal customer for the long haul. Yes, there is a language barrier, but I didn't find it to be an issue. My experience with Guarani was so pleasant, I would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat. read more

After an unfortunate incident with a concrete post in a parking garage, I took my car to this place solely based on the Yelp reviews. They got the job done in 48 hours (way less than I expected) and for a significantly lower price than I thought too. Got my car back and it was like new and freshly washed. The casual observer could never tell that anything happened to it. Some reviews have mentioned orange peel on the repaired panels - if my car has it at all, it's very very minimal. As other reviews have mentioned, this place doesn't have fancy pants branding and their English is not the best. If you can deal with that you'll get great work for a great price. read more
