After a very unfortunate hit and run incident, I had my car repaired at New design Auto Body. As a woman, going to the auto body shop can be a daunting experience, but this experience was overwhelmingly positive. JR was my mechanic and he was great! He called me for each and every update and was always very reliable and straightforward. It was nice to know the person working on my vehicle. He was great with working with the insurance company as well. Whenever I called he was always available to give me updates on the repair process. My car looks great, as If the accident never happened. I normally never write reviews but I felt that this level of professional customer service needed to be praised. They even put my updated license plates on my vehicle for me, washed and cleaned the inside and outside of my car. The repairs were done in a timely manner as well. If I ever need auto repairs again I will definitely bring my car back to this shop! read more

When you give your car to a shop to fix due to one reason or another, you trust that they will take care of your baby, fix her up like new as you pay them to, and return her to you in a timely and reasonable fashion. For the reasons below, I have lost any trust I may have had in New Design Auto Body and will surely never recommend them to anyone I may know. 1. Took the car in the second week of December. We were quoted two weeks for repairs. I did not get my car back until after the new year. At two weeks, they called stating the car would not be ready for another week. We spoke the day before confirming car would be ready. Later that night, New Design TEXTS us to say they need to keep the car one more week. No real explanation as to why for the short notice, only that there were more repairs needed- THE DAY BEFORE PICK UP. 2. Once we finally got the car back, there were french fries and foot prints in the back seat behind the drivers seat. I love me some french fries but I haven't had the car in a month and had not eaten in it since getting it detailed in October. In regards to the footprints, I wear a size 5. This was at least a size 10 men's boot. 3. Once we got the car back, the left headlight being repaired worked but the right side no longer worked. We had to take it back to them to fix. Apparently they didn't attach something or another. Luckily it was a simple fix but extremely inconvenient and unprofessional. On top of that, once we got the car back this time, there were ashes all over the front drivers side and I'm not a smoker. 4. Lastly, for some unknown reason, my car had a few hundred miles extra once we got the car back. Called New Design and then my insurance company. They stated they got the car in at 5 miles less than what was given back to us but I checked my car's trip computer. There was my last trip, the trip with the accident (plus a hundred miles) and then the current trip of 200 miles. There is no acceptable or logical reason why anyone should have to deal with this issue. read more

I had repairs done to my car back in 2015 and to this day I am still not satisfied with the work that was done. I needed to have my rear driver side door and driver door replaced and my driver door still does not close properly. The sound the door emits is also extremely annoying. It makes a loud hollowed metal sound as opposed to the "normal thud" the other doors make. Initially, I had to return a few times to have the door adjusted. I realized when the door was closed it wasn't flush with the rear door. It protruded out and was very noticeable. On another occasion, rain water began leaking through the door above my head (luckily it rained because I probably would have not know until far later down the line). After driving for a few days after that I noticed the door closed in too far. Now when I look at the door I still notice the door is not flush with the other door and the sound is still extremely annoying. If at all possible, I'd say use another shop..... read more

I took my car to get a door fixed , they install a new door on my car and the they did a bad job on the paint , it had small water marks on it and It looked bad , when they gave me the car the window was not placed properly so I can hear wind coming in when I was driving and I had to go back twice ! Because they didn't fix the window the first time . They gave me the car with a ripped weather seal and told me they would call when They get the new one and so far they didn't call . Plus it was supposed to be a 4 day job and it turned out into a two week job . Im very disappointed!! read more

I sent my car in to have the back reconstructed after being rear-ended. It ended up taking weeks longer than projected. However, this was due to faulty or damaged parts arriving, as well as more damage than initially expected. Why I give them five stars is that despite the delays, the team was consistently able to update me on where things were at in detail, and give new timelines as each step occurred. It felt fully transparent, which is a rarity at auto shops I find. In the end, I really needed my car back by a certain date. They worked hard and made it happen. And the repairs were excellent. It looks better than when I got the car. Really, really excellent customer service. The only thing I can't comment on is pricing, as it was all handled by insurance. But my sense is they're very honest and probably competitive. All in all, though I hope I don't have to return, New Design would be a given if more repairs are ever needed. read more

I have an excellent rating for New Design Auto Body. They repaired my auto to it's original condition in a timely manner. I thought I had lost my Mother's diamond ring back in November 2019. I took the ring off to lotion my hands in the car but and thought I threw it away in a napkin. After 7 individuals looked in the car for the ring I thought it was gone forever. I threw it away in a napkin. I can't explain the anguish I felt, it was as though my Mother died again. It has nothing to do with the cost of the ring but simply its sentimental value. I picked up my car today January 27, 2020 and the ring was put in my coffee holder. I literally screamed when I saw it. The platinum band was bent but the diamonds were intact. What a honest person. Admittedly, I'm a bad driver. I'm just going to put that out there. The first day I owned my car, somebody rear-ended me (because somebody ran into them) and totally bashed in my bumper. So, All State (their insurance) recommended this place. It was amazing... they had my car done in two days, and it looked PERFECT, as if the accident had never happened. They also guarantee their work for as long as I own the vehicle - talk about a confidence booster. And finally, I will say that both Julia (who helped me schedule) and Junior (who did the work and drove me home after I dropped off the car) were extremely professional, efficient, AND friendly - what a combination! Fast forward 6 months, I had another incident and my car - right in front of the driver's side mirror) was damaged from top to bottom. Because of the superior service I experienced before, of course I called New Design again. After my insurance company did their investigation, I called (extremely friendly once again) Julia, and made another appointment - she was very flexible with me about dropping the car off which I appreciated because of an unusually busy schedule. I will also take the time to say here that these guys go the extra mile with their service - I didn't want the bother of getting a rental car, so they offered to drive me home after I dropped off my car AND pick me up again once the work was done. Wayne (who did the work on my car and drove me both times) again reinforced what I've realized is standard at New Design, namely professionalism, friendliness, and great personal service! Now, mind you, it was right around Thanksgiving that this work was to be done, so I fully expected delays... (BUT that didn't happen- read on!). Not only that, but after they started taking apart my car, they discovered a problem that Geico (my insurance company) had completely overlooked and had to get them to come out and reevaluate. They handled all of that coordination, and gave me regular calls to keep me informed of the progress. And, they did ALL of this WITHOUT DELAYS - I got the car back a full two days earlier than Geico estimated it would take! In the end, my car looks BETTER than it did before the incident. Not only did they fix every single issue I had (dents, scrapes, alignment, and blended the door's paint so it looked perfect), they yet AGAIN went the extra mile and both washed and detailed my baby (I admit I hadn't been keeping her very clean at all). After someone decided to lose pieces of their furniture (and what I perceived to be a hockey stick) all over Route 50 East, someone else decided to run over said furniture and blow it all over my car as I was stuck in my lane and could only look on in helpless annoyance. It was just super. My front end was now all scratched up and had come loose on the passenger's side. It was a sad sight on my well cared for Honda, so I decided to go ahead and file a claim for repairs. I chose this place based on a combination of Yelp reviews and State Farm's referral, and I am glad I did! In just two days they repaired and repainted my front bumper and de-hazed one of my headlights, which had faded and no longer matched the other. They also have an affiliation with Enterprise if you need a rental car, and their receptionist Julia is very friendly and helpful. I picked up my car today and it looks like it did the day I bought it. I was so excited that I went home and cleaned the upholstery... AND found a dollar in between the seats! My Insurance had New Design on their list. My 2008 Hyunndai Sonata was estimated by the owner and the insurance sent them the repair money...over $800.00. They never called with acknowledgement. 11 months later, I took the car in for the repairs not knowing that they were paid the amount & they didn't have records of the estimate, plus charge me (insurance) more for the repairs cause of slight rust on the from the"PREVIOUS ESTIMATE." They're DISHONEST & they did a CRAPPY job...after they took 3 weeks for a 1 week job...my radio and my driver side window wasn't working. I just had to chalk it up as a loss instead of going back and being charged...for additional MONEY!!!!! read more

Had my brand new car for 10 whole days when rocks thrown by lawn equipment broke the passenger window and gouged the interior door as well as nicked the paint in several spots on the exterior door. Needless to say, I wanted to cry. Neighbors suggested I take it to McDonald Auto Body but I just wanted to make sure I got the best service available so I called my insurance company who suggested I take it to New Design Auto body. Interestingly enough they are the same people! These guy's are fantastic! Because of the extensive damage and cost involved I opted to use my previous vehicle for the time the car was being repaired in lieu of a rental, (mold had set into my old car) and when I became ill from it they rushed the repair so I could get back into my new car and out of my old. The interior door panel had to be ordered, the ding's could not be buffed out so the door had to be repainted and there was glass 'everywhere'! They rushed the job but this did not affect the quality of their work. As if this wasn't enough quality service, a few days later they called to ask how I was feeling! Although I am still stick from the mold spurs, I am extremely pleased with the quality of work, service and friendliness they extended and strongly recommend them to everyone! I backed into a parked car and went to New Design for my insurance estimate, and when they realized I had a $500 deductible, the whole repair would be about $600, and that I didn't care about anything on my little utility vehicle being aesthetically perfect, the mechanic offered to just put a new cover on the light for $140 and that they could get the part within a day. Do not recommend! They rotated staggered tires on my Mercedes and only offered an apology as an afterthought after this issue was discovered by a third party shop. Stay away and use another shop if you care about the longevity of your car. read more

Can't say enough good things about this place. The work is great, they take great care with your vehicle and work out any issues with the insurance company so I didn't have to. Getting side swiped by a hit and run bus was a real pain, but the folks at New Design were professional, helpful and made the process easy. Some genius rear ended me in my only one month old Infiniti G35 and my dad recommended this place to me. He said that my car would look brand new again and you wouldn't even be able to tell that I was hit. True indeed... he was not lying. I was very satisfied with the condition of my car once complete. Except... a fuse blew out and disabled my back running lights about 2 days after I had the car back. I called and they told me to come right in. When I got there, they prioritized my vehicle and got right on the problem. They finished in no time and I haven't experienced a single problem since. From Wayne to his son Jr to the receptionist Mrs. Julia I liked that they were on the same accord the whole time my car was there. My car looks brand new & u get a lifetime warranty on work as long as you own the car. Due to the rain my car wasn't detailed, but I was told by Jr if its a clear day bring it back anytime and they will detail it with no problem. I will be taking them up on that offer. I worked with New Design Auto Body twice ( thats how good they are) and they are very consistent with their work. JR IS THE MAN!!!! He's one of the amazing guys that fixes your vehicle and he even talks to you directly about damages and what needs to be done and even walks through the finished vehicle as well ,explaining in detail, as in other places you speak soley to the receptionist. Wow! What wonderful customer service! I took my vehicle into this specific shop because of the Yelp! reviews after putting in an insurance claim on my vehicle. I had a broken fog light and several scratches on the car. The service was estimated to take 3 days, on the third day I was contacted to pick up my vehicle in the afternoon, turns out after I arrived that the wrong part was wrongfully shipped to them and I wouldn't be able to take my vehicle and already returned my rental. Because of my schedule I would not be able to make it to MD (I live in VA) until the following week. I was disappointed because I had a conference to attend and needed the car afterwards. Wayne and Junior prioritized my vehicle and drove it to me (in DC traffic) so I would have it after the conference. I got the vehicle and it looks amazing on top of that they cleaned my vehicle. I could not be any happier. They went above and beyond, and this is by far the best customer service I received in terms of auto repair. I have a Chevy Volt, and the Chevy dealer in Alexandria, Ourisman Chevrolet doesn't even provide this level of customer service and quality of repair. I would 100% recommend using this auto body shop to anyone, and would use them in the future if I needed. However, I hope I won't need any repairs for my vehicle :). read more
