The salmon Rasta pasta first of all was priced one on the menu but at the register $3 more. They weren't hearing it and not gentle or caring so I just hurried and ordered. I recently ordered the brown stew chicken from Jamaican Breeze with a side of mac and cheese and rice and peas. The chicken was tender and flavorful, and the mac and cheese was decent--especially since I wasn't sure what to expect. The most disappointing part was the rice and peas; I was hoping for a bit more flavor. Overall, given the lack of Jamaican restaurants in NoVA, this spot was decent, and I'd return to try some of the other sides. Customer service was great. Initially I chose mixed veggies as a side but changed it to mac and cheese with no issues at all; the staff was more than willing. The restaurant itself is spacious compared to most Jamaican spots and is located right next to BJ's. Lunch prices are reasonable, though the regular entrées are on the pricier side in my opinion. The rice and peas were to hard to chew, not well cooked ( maybe it's the type of rice they're using), fried plantains were too soft like regular bananas ( maybe the plantains were bad), cabbage wasn't well cooked ( tasted like a lettuce salad), jerk pork was burnt. Was so glad to see this neighborhood Jamaican staple has their own brick and mortar restaurant after moving out of Epic Food Hall. There is a small dining area with a couple of long benches, but mostly wooden tables. There is a TV on the walWas greeted by Bree's friendly smile and placed my order for the jerk ribs meal. Bree came to tell me that my ribs would be a little longer because they needed to be perfect. Happy about service like that! The ribs were delicious with a little bit of heat. Mine came with rice and peas and the mixed stir fry vegetables. Rice and peas can sometimes be a little dry, but that's not a worry here- they were really good! Some Jamaican restaurants in the area give you a couple of slivers of fried plantains to accent your meal. I was informed, "we don't do that here." It has a weird sweet taste to it that I'm not use to and don't like. I want my jerk chicken full of flavor and SPICY! And this was not. Jamaican Breeze is located in a food hall, it's pretty much the only restaurant that gets any business. Jamaican Breeze offers authentic Jamaican cuisine. The food is flavorful and bold. I tried the beef patty, so good, you can tell these are made fresh and not frozen. The goat and oxtail are also must try's, fall off the bone good. I highly recommend the dumplings and the Mac and cheese as sides. The food is super filling but a bit expensive, we spent almost $70 however it was worth every penny. We have only ordered food from here via delivery and have not sat down with them but the food does not disappoint! The ox tails are tender and flavorful and they don't skimp out on the meat like I see with several other places which is a plus considering ox tails are not cheap. We noticed this place when we were picking up some food so we knew we had to come back as soon as possible. There is no Jamaican restaurant in Woodbridge (that I know of at least) and we were pretty excited to find it. We stopped by on a random Wednesday evening and it didn't look too busy. We were worried that they were about to close up but luckily we were wrong. There was only the one guy at the stall but he was really nice and got straight to cooking multiple orders at a time. We ordered the Oxtail (w/Rice and Peas and Plantains), Curry Goat (w/Rice and Peas and Stir Fry Cabbage, and two Beef Patties. Despite being a little busy, he got us our food within about 5-7 minutes. This was everything that I was wanting and more. The oxtails were falling off the bone and he did not hold back with the servings. It was a lot of food and could give a normal person 2 meals. The curry goat was also super tender as well but I only had a little. The sides were on point as well, definitely no complaints. The beef patties were also really good. If I could leave more stars, I would! The cuisine from Jamaican Breeze is phenomenal! I frequently get the brown stew chicken entree, while my husband is a little more adventurous and switches it up a bit. No matter what we get, the food is CONSISTENTLY GOOD! Even our two year old devours the food. We order from them regularly, so often that we get cute little notes on our food containers.
