I came in there needing foam to cover a chair not only did they get the foam for me, but he cut it and glued it to my board so all I needed to do was take it to my chair so that I can attach it and add the upholstery fabric on top and tap in my brass Tech nails! It looks beautiful. It looks wonderful and as a senior citizen with severe arthritis, I could never have done this without their help! I purchased a swivel recliner three years ago from a rental furniture store on liquidation. It looked brand new but was always hard to recline. Eventually a wooden part snapped and the chair back could not stay upright. Guate Upholstery sent out someone to diagnose it to our home in Kuna. They were able to disassemble it and take the back with them. They fixed it perfectly and it is better than new. read more

I really don't like leaving a one-star review, but in this circumstance I feel I have no choice. After seeing good reviews for Guate Upholstery on Yelp, I took my love seat cushions to them to have new foam put in. They said they would call me with the cost for doing the work. I waited for weeks without hearing from Guate, and about the time I was going to check back with them, they called to make sure it was my cushions they were working on . It seems they didn't put my name and/or the service request paperwork on my cushions. They asked if mine were the striped cushions, and I said no, mine were floral. I sent them photos, and they said they'd call me back after they found my cushions. They didn't call me back. I finally called them, and they said the person that would know about my cushions wasn't in and would call me back. No one called me back. Finally I had my husband go into the shop when he was in Boise. They told him that they lost the cushions! They probably threw them away! They told my husband that they would make new cushions, but of course they couldn't match the fabric. They weren't interested in reupholstering my whole love seat so I'd have matching upholstery. Finally I sent a restricted-delivery letter giving them the options I could think of. I got the name of the proprietor, Luis, off the internet, and the letter was supposed to be delivered to him and signed for. I guess he wasn't there, or doesn't own the business anymore, but the PO left a note that the letter should be picked up at the post office. So far that hasn't happened. Therefore I am leaving this very negative review. How do you LOSE someone's cushions??! read more

Two businesses contacted me regarding this and Guate was one. I sent more detailed description of what I wanted done. Neither business responded with the estimate I requested. Guate gave me a price for fabric only, nothing for labor, padding or minor structural repairs. The other business didn't respond at all. I guess I can't trust yelp anymore. read more

Our puppies chewed up the corner of our couch cushion a couple years ago and we finally got it fixed. This shop was super responsive and quoted me over text after I sent several photos of the couch. I was given a date to bring the cushion in for repair and it was done the same day for a very reasonable price. I did not have extra material so they worked with what they had, and I am amazed at how good the repair looks! Excellent work. I will definitely be back with other projects/repairs. read more

Needed a zipper replaced on a large sofa cushion slipcover - a larger shop on Fairview unenthusiastically looked it it and quoted over $250 for the repair which seemed excessive.
