I was only in the area three days and wanted to try local coffee shops. This place had the best rating and Yelp has a cinnamon roll on their page that looked phenomenal. I stopped in with my friend, the staff was very friendly. The barista was telling all about the area and the shop itself. The Ham & Egg on everything bagel was amazing. I thought the latte hit the spot perfectly. I still think it has one of the best names for a coffee shop ever. I liked all the merchandise they had and all the decor was great. Highly recommend this place. My friend and I tried the other coffee place in the area but liked this one better which is why we hit it up on our way out of town. read more

We always stop at Starbucks when passing through Trinidad on roadtrips, but this time decided to do something local and oh boy parkatory did not disappoint!!! This is our new happy coffee stop. They host an impressive food and beverage menu along with an entire wall of loose leaf tea for a tiny shop. I was incredibly impressed!!! They had a crustless quiche that was so good!! I have had many quenches and this one topped the all. My fam had the breakfast sandwiches, and I kept hearing oh this is so good, yummy, delicious from everyone. Circled around and noticed it was in the middle of the Galleria building. When I walked in there were definite Halloween and steampunk vibes with low lighting and skull decor. Very cool because that's what I dressed up as this year... a steampunker. While I was waiting for my drink, I inquired about the restroom. They do not have one there in the shop. It's a building restroom down the hall in which a key is required. It was very clean at about 9AM. THE DRINKS My caramel macchiato ($6.59 for a 20-oz.) was so rich and creamy. The best one I've probably ever had. I requested it with 2% cow milk. I giggled hard when they asked "Is it okay that this has 3 shots of espresso?" Well, espresso yeah! Their coffee is dervied from Spanish Peaks Coffee Roasters in Colorado Springs. LITTLE YELPER'S CLUB Did not see any kid's sizes anything. I got an iced horchata latte (half sweet) and it was decent. The place was a bit difficult to find as it's in a building with other businesses and offices. But once you find it, it's cute inside. We were looking for a bakery and when we got there we saw savory offerings in the case but the sweet things were packaged. I had a cherry biscotti that was good. A bit disappointing as their yelp pics show enticing treats. Maybe because it's the weekend they were out of fresh sweet baked goods. I'm sure the coffees were great but since I didn't have any I can't respond to that. The service was great. Buying prepackaged baked goods from Washington state in New Mexico is weird In response to the owner I have attached from your website a pic of your bakery listing which is what drew us to your establishment. I don't think the bakery across the street was open last Sunday. And the packaged biscotti was good as was the other treat we ordered. read more

Fantastic coffee shop! We were on our way to Great Sand Dunes National Park and were in need of coffee/breakfast. While the Yelp reviews were wonderful, the name sold me. We ordered two breakfast sandwiches, which were freshly made and absolutely delicious. To drink, we ordered a medium oat milk latte and large peppermint mocha. Both were fantastic! Not only did the coffee have a lot of flavor on its own, but even our modifications were blended perfectly to taste everything. What a great coffee shop! One of Trinidad's few and far between coffee shops that don't end in "Bucks"- the latter of which is very minimal as it is. Like prior Yelp reviews noted, Perkatory is difficult to find from the street. Located on the right side of a large, white colored commercial office building that houses a bank and art gallery, Perkatory is more of a coffee stand with seating for about 6 people. However, don't let the small square footage size fool you. I sought Perkatory out as an alternative to that Safeway "Bucks" when traveling back to Texas from Denver. I required a highly caffeinated, yet tasty iced beverage to last during the remaining 9 hour drive into New Mexico nothingness. Enter Perkatory. With the addition of two Rice Krispy marshmallow snacks, the barista made a delicious, 5 shot grande Americano that was strong enough to last through the night for just under $10 in total. The only real downer of Perkatory may have been in its location, which is understandable. Street parking out front is limited at times due to other businesses, yet I was able to find parking a block away on the side of a hill incline (and for free). If only the building's primary leaseholder would allow Perkatory to place small signage on or near the building (the building address itself is actually obscured by tree foliage during the summer). On the flip side, the location also forces you to explore what downtown Trinidad has to offer with its businesses and culture- certainly not a bad thing. Overall, Perkatory is a good coffee stop in Trinidad for both leisure, and a necessity for road trips. I'll definitely return back here when traveling back to the Denver metro area. read more

Eclectic steam punk coffee bar with a nice selection of pastries. Friendly service but pretty slow (that could have been a function of the chatty cashier as the barista was busting her booty). VERY cool coffee joint! Love the vibe, decor and everything. My husband ended up ordering a German Chocolate Latte and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD. The little hints of coconut at the end of each sip was amazing, Lawd! Then there's the dessert case...man. Lemme tell you - I hate carrot cake. Hate it. Stupidest dessert on the planet, yet I married someone who loves the stuff. So of course he grabbed a slice of it for the road - the slice weighed *at least* a pound, so you're getting your monies worth. Anyway, we had a 3 hours drive home and my sweet tooth hit; I broke down and took a nibble - the cream cheese icing was as EPIC as it gets. We were in town for two days and for two days we started our day at Perkatory. I had an Earl Grey Tea with honey and lavender, my partner had a White Mocha Coffee. We shared a jalapeño bagel sandwich that was so fresh and delicious!!! Actually drove back through Trinidad a week later and stopped again for breakfast that morning!
