A hidden gem!!! Can't believe this was my first time here but definitely will not be my last. The dishes were packed with flavor & each bite got better than the last. Their menu has some pictures which is so helpful & the location is super cute, not a very big space but has about 4 medium sized tables for guests. The meals as I said were delicious and portions were great! I had the lychee iced tea & my friend had coconut water but they were wayyyy too sweet. I took half of my lychee iced tea home & added a cup of water to it which made it better (maybe ask for drinks lightly sweetened) The staff was friendly & was kind enough to allow us to dine in close to their closing time. Greatly looking forward to going back to try more dishes!

This place is definitely a solid 3 stars. We got to go from here abd everything was pretty decent. The portion size was decent but wished they weren't so stingy with the rice. Thai food goes so well with those white jasmine rice! More rice should be given for sure. We had the early bird special yellow curry with tofu. This came with a appetizer, drink and a dessert. The curry decent but thought it wasn't as flavorful as other Thai places. We picked the taro custard and that was delicious! They forgot our spring rolls with our to go order which was very unfortunate. Basil udon with chicken. A bit on the sweeter side but very yum. Loads of flavor. Pad Kha Prow with beef. Very garlicky and basilly. Just how I like it. However a bit sweet and the beef was too dry. Overall this is a solid spot. I wouldn't mind coming here to try more items

Food came out very fast. Its a very small space with only the 4 seater tables. The decor is not bad but they do have a bit of visible mess. There is no ambiance bc there is no music. I ordered the pineapple fried rice, curry puffs and thai iced tea. All items were tasty but nothing out of the ordinary. Would eat here again if i was in the area but for a quick dinner.

    Thai wings, absolutely delicious.

Since my first adventure to Gub Khao, ive come back a few times. i Still love this place, admire the decor, and enjoy the food. thai iced coffee: more like vietnamese coffee, strong & bitter. not too sweet. worth a try. panang curry: perfect. soupy like it should be. i asked for heat, but it was mild. however, the flavor was on point. this is a must try. beef pad thai: i didnt partake in this dish, but it looked saucey and sticky - my date loved it. BIG portion. taro pearl dessert: more like a coconut rice pudding. its good, but needs to be shared. the flavor is alot to take on and its a big portion. thai wings are a must get! theyre like viet sticky wings, but sweeter. MESSY. only 5 or 6 come in an order, but i know everyone will love the flavor and the sauce. tom yum soup with shrimp: oh lord, i asked for hot and gub khao showed up with the spice from hell. the flavor was phenomneal, but i couldnt finish all the broth (too spicy), so beware when ordering this. a nice amount of shrimp too. hoi jor: i have never seen this on a thai menu, but i am glad i tried them. to be fair, the crab taste was minimal, but i loved these fried little balls. the sour and sweet sauce it came with really paired well with them. they were pretty addicting and i can see myself eating 20 more.

Great find in an ethnic area. Real Thai food! They have a picture book of all the menu selections if you prefer to look at photos. Platter - really good selections and freshly fried Papaya salad- beware with mild spicy because it's Thai spicy!

Finally I got a chance to stop by @Gubkhaothai . I am so happy to find a real authentic Thai restaurant in NJ. They have a wide variety of popular Thai dishes from Northern and Esan . We ordered spicy mango salad with shrimps , Pad Ped Pla Duk (Crispy catfish stir fried in a spicy Thai red curry sauce, garlic, lemongrass, galangal, eggplant, young peppercorn, crispy basil leaves), Isan Set(Thai northeastern food with papaya salad, roasted chicken, larb, sticky rice. ) , Pad Kee Mao(Flat rice noodle sauteed with beef, tomatoes, onions, chili, basil, and bell peppers. )Must try !! delicious and Nam Tok salad (Meat mixed with red onion, lime juice, Thai herbs, roasted rice powder.) We asked for extra spicy and we got the most flavorful , wonderful extra spicy food I am looking forward to go back there again soon

Ah!!!!! This place is a literal gem. We usually frequent the other Thai spots nearby but this place is light years ahead of them all. The menu is extensive and feels like it's full of yummy authentic options. We tried them for the first time last night and got the tom yum soup with shrimp, spring rolls, and the mango salmon and it was so good I forgot to take a picture. The soup was spicy just like we asked for, the spring rolls were hot and crunchy and the sauce that came with them was sweet and provided the perfect dip, and the salmon was fresh and melted in your mouth. We love cooking and planned on making dinner tonight but decided to get food from here again because it was so enjoyable and we couldn't wait to try more of their food. The lady who answers the phone is very kind and patient when you're ordering. They really respect the spice level you ask for and give you huge portions of food. The drinks are tasty and not watered down. Both last night and tonight they even gave us a delicious complimentary mini iced tea. I'm literally writing this review still sitting at the dining table because this place deserves all the stars and good reviews... but mostly so I can kill some time and get hungry again and eat more of the rice we got. The only thing that would put this place over the top is if they got rid of pork from their menu and started serving halal meat - given their location and the immense amount of Muslims in the area, doing this would only benefit them. ....now we wait til Monday so I can convince my husband that we NEED to try dessert or something from this place, lol.

Let me start off by saying, I will definitely be coming back here. I had chicken pad Thai was OUT OF THIS WORLD!! It came with a slice of lime and that gave it such amazing citrusy taste. I had order a side of peanut sauce. The sauce it self was good and thick. When I add the peanut sauce to the noodles it was creamy smooth and hot due to the noodles. The young lady who took my order, very polite and friendly. When picking up my order, she had gave me a small sample of lotus drink. I entered my car took a sip. smooth not over powering favor, just sweet enough , went back and got a large! Over all I had a great experience in the restaurant.

What a great small business restaurant. Love the decor. Instagrammable with all the decor. There are not a lot of sitting, so call ahead if you have a large group. We started with the papaya salad, chicken satay and, appetizer sampler; this had curry puffs, shrimp spring rolls, chicken wings and pork dumplings. Papaya salad was crunchy, spicy and all around delicious. First time having it and I was not disappointed. The curry puff was a sweet curry potatoes and vegetables with the most fluffiest dough, I have ever eaten. Chicken wings were good too. The sauces with chicken satay were good too. I can put that on everything. We then had beef drunken noodles. This was good too. Tender beef pieces with chewy flat noodles. The green curry was also a great option. Coconut creaminess with spicy..... simply delicious. They also have some amazing drinks. I had the Thai ice tea: not too sweet. The lychee juice was really refreshing. Whenever you find yourself in Patterson please visit them. They are a fairly new restaurant.

SO authentic and delicious. Asked for SUPER spicy and did not disappoint. Some of the best papaya salad! Will be coming back for more. Very kid friendly and the service was so friendly!!!

Since Yemeni coffee and tea options aren't common for everyone, they take the time to explain the menu and answer questions, which I really appreciated. However, the Adeni Chai was the only saving grace of the visit. It was flavorful and well made, but the coffee was a massive disappointment. I tried the Jubani after the staff described it as a delicious light-roasted coffee packed with caffeine, but in reality, it tasted like bland cardamom water with absolutely no coffee flavor or body. It felt like I was just drinking hot spiced water. The atmosphere was also a major issue as there was no seating available whatsoever. The crowd was mostly of Middle Eastern descent and many were incredibly rude; people will bump right into you and not say a word. Even worse was the way some customers spoke to the workers, it was absolutely deplorable. Honestly, who raised you? It was uncomfortable to witness. The dessert selection was even worse. Most of what we ordered felt stale and old. The only thing worth eating was the bubble dessert with cheese because they actually toast it. We tried both the pistachio milk cake and the pistachio dream cake, and neither was impressive. The khattafi in the pistachio dream was the biggest letdown; it was so stale and bland I can't believe they actually put it out to sell when it was clearly weeks if not months old. The basboosa was also a disappointment, as it was a very small square of semolina cake for almost $5. Overall, It is not a good place for coffee or desserts, so if you do go, stick strictly to the Adeni chai.

The flavors of the meat blew my mind. Who knew that Croatians make the most delicious burgers. This is a hearty and fantastic dish. Also, the burek was flaky and light and not very mini. Seating is first-come, first-served, and guests are placed based on availability, which keeps things fair and efficient even during busy times. The tables for two are intimate and cozy, perfect for conversation, though they can become a bit tight when ordering several dishes at once. That said, the staff was attentive and checked in often enough to clear plates and make room, which made the experience much more comfortable. The dessert menu is separate, allowing guests to enjoy their meal at an unhurried pace before deciding on something sweet. Their beverage offerings are thoughtfully presented. Herbal tea options include green tea, chamomile, and English tea (Stash), and the tea is served in a container that provides two full servings. The cappuccino is well made and served with a sugar crystal stick, adding a distinct old-world charm that enhances the café's European feel. I regret not asking for an additional order of Turkish coffee so that's a regret . What we ordered: * Greek Salad - $18.50 * Cappuccino - $6.80 * Herbal Tea - $6.00 * Uštipci - $17.25 * Musaka - $22.95 * Šnicla (Cutlet Sandwich) - $20.75 * 2 Diet Cokes - $8.00 The musaka is a baked dish and does take about 25 minutes to prepare, as it's made fresh with baked eggs, seasoned beef, and sliced potatoes layered on top. The wait is well worth it, resulting in a hearty, comforting dish that tastes authentically homemade. The Šnicla (cutlet sandwich) arrived beautifully presented on a wooden board, adding a rustic, elevated touch that matched the restaurant's aesthetic. Mom felt it lacked in seasoning but she Didnt leave any crumbs . The Uštipci were a standout--served with feta and honey, generously portioned, and so plentiful that we happily took some home. We were too full for dessert this time, but it's absolutely on the list for a return visit. Due to winter weather, we couldn't explore the back of the restaurant, but even from the main dining area, the decor is undeniably charming and full of character. Overall, Cafe Bubamara offers authentic flavors, generous portions, attentive service, and a cozy, old-world atmosphere that makes it a place worth revisiting.

He had tried it at a friend's mosque and he says he's been chasing that high ever since. We figured we'd try to get some at Mokafe. It wasn't too difficult to find street parking, but the cafe was surprisingly busy for a late Sunday night. We placed our order for Adeni Shai, Dubai Knafa Brownie, and a Lotus Biscoff croissant. Everything was delicious. I have never had Yemeni tea before so I didn't have a bar to measure it against. I really enjoyed the tea though my friend said it wasn't exactly what he was looking for. I feel like it could've done with more spices but it still tasted very good. The Dubai Knafa Brownie was excellent. The brownie by itself was nice and moist with the perfect texture for a brownie. The Knafa set it over the top with the crunch and pistachio flavor. I'd definitely get this again. The Lotus Biscoff Croissant was good, but I liked the brownie more. It was about an average croissant but the Biscoff spread added some nice flavor to it. I think it could've used more though. It was buttery and flaky; pillars a of what a croissant should be.
