I also ordered the Curry Chicken & Beef Satay Skewers. The ingredients were fresh and the Peanut Dipping Sauce was delicious. I also ordered a House Special fried Rice I added Chicken, Beef and Shrimp to the Rice. House Fried Rice with Shrimp, Chicken & Beef. I only got 3 pieces of Shrimp Very Little Beef portions also. It's packed and the service was nice in the sense they gave us the appetizers before the main courses of soup, but the waitress couldn't care less we were there. My husband and I stumbled upon this restaurant, and the short version of this review is that we not only satisfied my cravings, but I think we've found our favorite Vietnamese spot in the area. I was bemused by the way they display comically oversized versions of their menu at every table. What I initially considered to be somewhat gimmicky turned out to be quite convenient since everyone at the table was simultaneously viewing the same menu while discussing ordering options. I love how quickly the food gets to your table at Vietnamese restaurants, and Pho Saigon is no exception. Our crispy spring rolls arrived mere minutes after ordering, and they were everything I'd want from a good fried appetizer - meaty, flavorful, and hot enough to do some of those open-mouthed dragon breaths after your first bite. My beef pho was also fantastic, with the broth perfectly redolent of all the spices that imparted their flavors. But I was most impressed with my husband's chicken vermicelli bowl. The meat was beautifully seasoned and, once mixed with the supplied sauce, made for a light and refreshing meal. Pho Saigon, we have gone here a few times over the years. Whether it's calling for take out or sit down, the food is not to disappoint. My go to is the Vegetable and Tofu Pho. There is a good amount of vegetables, tofu and pho in the big bowl. I'm not a fan of ground pepper. However in this dish, I don't mind it and it's in the overall soup. If you eat at Pho Saigon, you will get the beansprouts, basil, jalapeño in the dish that goes with your pho. We also have had Summer rolls previously before too (not pictured). Pho Saigon is a treat in this area that used to be not so safe. Each of the dishes that we tried - pho, noodles, and meat/rice, were all delightful. The only downside of this palace is that it's so small that you may need to be waiting on a table -- often on top of another table. It leads to a bit of discomfort or rushing but then again, it's a small price to pay for the space. Stopped in here for lunch today, there was already a line at the door by the time they opened, definitely a hotspot for folks to visit and eat. It was full even as we were seated early. At the tables you have giant menus on boards so they don't have to hand out paper or menus to you, they are a bit slow in the service though. I've worked at a restaurant as small and been much more efficient with less people working the front. As for the food, the spring rolls are quite good, crunchy and four to an order so a bit small but they do come with lettuce and cucumbers and pickled carrots and daikon. The Summer rolls are a bit heavy on the rice noodle and veggies, they didn't have too much shrimp so we skipped it after seeing the table next to us get their order. The beef combo was good sized, plenty of noodles and a mix of beef brisket, meatballs, tendon, and tripe. A little bit of pepper on top, the broth was not bad but I've had better at Nam Son. We did like the hot sauce on the table, and they brought out bean sprouts and lime and basil leaves and a little bit of jalapenos sliced up. They didn't bring enough bean sprouts, we had seven bowls of pho and only two small plates of bean sprouts, by the time they brought out a third the broth was already too cold to cook the bean sprouts all the way through so a bit of a waste. Overall, I've definitely had better but it's a good enough stop for a hot soup on a cold day, and definitely popular as people were still waiting even as we finished up. They do add tip already to the bill, so don't be like us and accidentally check a box for additional gratuity unless you intend so. Also, I feel like the water tasted a bit off, like coming from a coffee container with a bit of that aftertaste. Definitely drank a lot of water, feel like there might have been some MSG in the broth. read more

I think I may have found my go-to Vietnamese spot. It tastes good and is a great value. I'm usually weary of Vietnamese places that also serve Pad Thai, but Pho Kitchen was really good. Our party of four came in at around 1 on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. There was a ten minute wait but they had a lot of tables, so it was quick. To start, we ordered crispy spring rolls and veggie spring rolls. The crispy spring rolls were great - they use rice paper which I love. I didn't try the veggie ones but I noticed they use regular frozen spring roll wrappers for those. For my entree, I had the vermicelli bowl with three proteins - pork, chicken, and beef. I love how thinly sliced the proteins were. It looks like it would be dry but it was very tender. Can't wait to come back on a colder day to try some of their pho! I don't know about the ambience of the service because I ordered Uber eats. But I had ordered the steamed dumplings and the vocelli combination platter. The steamed dumplings when they got to me were extremely sloppy. Not a lot of flavor in the meat and the dipping sauce had mostly oil. Not much flavor at all. The vocelli platter I got shrimp and chicken and the veggie egg rolls. The egg rolls were really good. The chicken had great flavor. The shrimp had a great flavor to it. My partner and I absolutely love this place. One of the best pho place in Bergen county. This place is small and cozy. Expect a wait on a Friday and Saturday night. But it's not a crazy long wait. On our recent trip here in February on a cold Friday night, we waited about 25 minutes for a seat. As usual, I ordered my favorite pho, the lemongrass spicy pho. Absolutely delicious! On a cold day, it is my go-to. But don't get me wrong, the other pho are just as good. When it comes to the pho, 5 stars! The appetizers, I give 4 stars. One evening we ordered the beef satay and for $10 price, I was not impressed by the amount of meat we got. The meat was sliced very thin. Flavorful but thin. My partner and I usually order spring rolls but wanted to change it up. We regretted it and now only stick to spring or summer rolls for appetizer. Other than the beef satay being small, everything else I'm content with. I haven't try their banh mi sandwich yet, but definitely on my list to try it next time. In terms of parrking, there's street parking. You may have to walk a block or two to get to the restaurant. The staff here are friendly. During long wait, they will write your phone number down and call up if you're next for an open table. Since it's small inside, it makes sense they do it like this. In my opinion this place has one of the best broth, a good spot to grab some hot and flavory soup on rainy days in Hackensack. Chicken wings (Viet Wings) are tasty I just didn't get the dressing today but I've had it before. Awesome Vietnamese spot in downtown Hackensack. Parking is street only, and a challenge as with any restaurant located in the area, although it is free on Sundays. Been coming here for the last three years even when I lived in Morristown, and has now become my go-to spot for Vietnamese food in the area. I usually tend to opt for take-out but have also dined in sometimes. Small interior inside and seating is somewhat limited with just a few tables. Haven't had any issues with this during the week but when coming on Sunday for lunch it can be extremely crowded and have a long wait time. This is one of the few places I feel like that take-out quality is not significantly worse compared to eating it immediately, although have never tried the pho as takeout. However, my family and I have tried several items (Basil rolls, Lemongrass chicken, fried rice, vermicelli, Bahn Mi) and have yet to be disappointed. When ordering takeout, it's pretty common for restaurants to overestimate the wait time. This is not one of those places. They are constantly busy and have tons of to-go orders, so if you're ordering takeout, I'd recommend actually coming a few minutes after the quoted time otherwise you'll just be waiting inside. But trust me, the wait is worth it. Service has generally been good. One lady in particular is the sweetest who always greets me when I visit. I've also had the grilled chicken a few times, it's a bit on the dry side and it's a bit different than other Vietnamese places. The crab fried rice is good here, would definitely recommend. We got a takeout order of beef and brisket Pho and chicken Pad Thai at 8:30 pm Thursday night. The restaurant was surprisingly packed at that time, particularly considering the closing time of 9 pm. To be frank, I question the authenticity (but what is "authenticity" these days?) of mixed Asian restaurants like Pho Saigon that serves both Vietnamese (Pho) and Thai (Pad Thai). However, the taste was on point for both dishes, and with the inexpensive price of $12.45 for each dish, it's difficult to give less than a stellar review of this restaurant. For Pho, the meat to noodle ratio was decent. The broth was flavorful with good seasoning. The chicken Pad Thai was seasoned with tamarind, and the chicken chunks were big and juicy. One note of improvement would be that the peanut be included separately for those with peanut allergies, but fortunately, none of us have that issue. I recommend ordering through the restaurant's website to take advantage of the 10 percent discount. Fantastic Viet spot in downtown area of Hackensack! I have been wanting to check this place out for a while. Took parents here when came into town this past weekend. We came here right before they were closing and my goodness was it busy in the restaurant. Between online orders and the full restaurant, the ladies handled their guests wonderfully with a smile and checked on everyone promptly. We got the dumplings and tried 3 entrees (Pad Thai, shaken beef cube with rice, and grilled chicken rice platter) which were all delicious. Parents enjoyed their dishes which was plenty of food and we also got the Thai iced tea to cool the palate after having the chili sauce with the entree. The inside of the restaurant is not that big with maybe 5 or 6 tables and when we were there, a a large party arrived that was accommodated in the back portion of the dining area. It is very clean and on each table is a large menu on display for the guests and the sauces on the table for the entrees. There is a small bottle of chili sauce that will knock your socks off for those that want to be adventurous.
