Nick's Mobile came through when I needed it most…read more I was at Bonelli Bluffs the weekend before Halloween and my new trailer suddenly lost shore power. Not the kind of problem you want to deal with on a trip. I called Nick and he responded right away. He made time to come out the same day. He diagnosed the issue quickly and knew exactly what was wrong. The automatic transfer switch had failed. Instead of delaying the repair, he tracked down the part himself, picked it up, and came back to install it. That level of effort matters when you are on a tight timeline. The repair was clean and professional. Power was restored and my entire weekend was back on track. What could have been a ruined trip turned into a great one. He did not stop there. He worked through the warranty process and made sure the repair was covered. I ended up fully reimbursed by the manufacturer. That saved me money and a lot of hassle. Nick goes above and beyond. He is responsive, knowledgeable, and committed to taking care of his customers. If you need mobile RV service, this is the guy to call. Nick if you see this, I truly apologize for such a late review. My mother in law stills talks about how nice you were and was happy that you stayed for a meal with us!

During the process there was some wood that was jacked up around the fridge where it anchors to the cabinets. I'm not overly picky just like bare minimums for my rig..but I wasn't thrilled because the fridge didn't stand straight. Nonetheless Nick said whether it was like that before or from his install he'd handle it next time around. Welp 7 months later my roof is leaking, I found again for roof leak repairs and he quoted, came out in a couple days, had it worked up, threw a little extra seal along the roof gutter that came off at material cost only..and he honored what he said from 7 months prior by finding pieces to anchor the fridge while doing the roof work at no extra charge. Additionally, I found a small leak from a clamp when using the hot water heater and he stopped by the campground on 24 hour notice and found the origin of the leak and fixed that for me quickly too (no charge). I'm happy with his response to the previous issue and quick turnaround time and will use him for quite a few other projects moving forward!

Martin and his team have been amazing! I bought a converted camper van back in the in fall, and…read moreafter a few weeks, everything stopped working: the electrical unit, the water in the sink, something was leaking, etc. I didn't know where to turn. All the camper conversion companies I called were booked out months, if not years, because of the pandemic (everyone wants a camper these days!). Martin was able to fit me in and WOW - I really hit the jackpot with him. Turns out, whoever had built my van had no electrical training and likely just learned about electricity in a few youtube videos. It was a huge fire hazard and pretty dangerous. And on top of it, it didn't work. Martin was able to rewire everything and ground the electricity. This guy knows what he's talking about and knows what he's doing. It's been almost 8 months now, and I have had no trouble at all with the electricity. I use my camper van for my business and I needed a way to stay cool inside of it during the hot summer. Once again, Martin went above and beyond - researching all the various ways I could get AC into the camper. In the end, the solution was brilliant. He was able to install an AC in such a way that it barely takes up any space, looks clean, and works great. AND - on top of it all - it works on solar! So it's eco-friendly. Long and short of it: If you need something for your camper or RV and are willing to be a little patient (remember that because of the pandemic, all the RV places are slammed!), Martin and his team are phenomenal. Highly recommend!!

Honestly, this business is in a class all by itself, when it comes to quality of service!…read more Here's how it compares to a NAPA auto parts business that I purchased at recently. At the Napa in Stanton, you are treated like a nuisance, rather than a customer. Buying auto parts is more like pulling teeth. I didn't get what I needed, and I vowed to never go back to that location ever again. Recently, I spoke with Dave here at Smith Powerhouse, on the phone. Not only did he stop and check and make sure he had the filter for my generator in stock. But, he quoted me the price, as well. That's how service should be! Friendly and easy! There simply is no comparison between Dave and other service and parts businesses. It's easy to see exactly why Dave has been in business so long and why he has a long list of satisfied customers. All you need to do is compare them for yourself. At most places, you are simply another problem walking in the door for them to try to satisfy. Most places do a reasonable job. But, the service you receive here at Smith's is simply outstanding. They solve your problem instead of sending you away upset and unsatisfied! I purchased before, and I will continue to purchase again every time I need either parts or service for my generator. Let me save you some time and aggravation by showing you EXACTLY how to best use this business to buy service for your generator. FIRST, before you call, make SURE you know the name and model number of your generator, which is usually located on some sort of DATA PLATE that is attached to the generator. There's not much anyone can do for you if they don't know EXACTLY what you have. So, go out and look and write it down. For example, my generator is an ONAN, made by Cummins, and the model is called MICROLITE. It has a 4000 watt output and the series is KY. They can't help you with parts unless you know the EXACT model number, so be sure to copy it down and have it ready when you call. Next, it's best to have some idea of what is wrong. Because saying "I don't know" doesn't begin to narrow down the problem and it means you will be leaving it up to them to first diagnose your generator. Some suggested problems could be: Doesn't start at all or hard to start. Doesn't run smoothly. No power output. Or, it just needs general maintenance however they see fit. Now, if you have no idea what is wrong, and you say "I dunno" then be prepared to pay a diagnostic fee just to have your generator inspected. What about recent USE? Sitting for years, and covered in cobwebs? Or, used and running a month or so ago? Yes, this company can probably bring a dead generator back to life again! The more details you provide, the better this company will understand your needs. Finally, remember, this is a BUSINESS and in order to stay in business, they must charge enough to make a reasonable profit. So, be prepared to pay for the parts and service that your generator needs. I recently had my generator serviced, and now I'm saving TONS of money on gas because I run this tiny generator engine to make electricity rather than the big V-10 engine in the motorhome. Plus, all my house-current appliances are usable now, and that means my microwave and air conditioner are back in service again. The biggest problem I had was FINDING this place. If I had known about this business, I would have used them YEARS ago and not waited so long to fix my generator. Oh, one last thing. NOTHING mechanical is maintenance-free, despite what they may tell you. So, if you have a generator that you expect to use on a regular basis, then get it INSPECTED at least once a year. More often, if you're using it each and every day, like I do. These Onan generators are pretty reliable, but you do need to do regular maintenance on them. Oil changes and filters. Valve adjustments too. Plus, fuel lines get old and hard from the heat, so you need to change them when they deteriorate. Now that you have a better idea of what to do, you are well on your way to purchasing the parts and service that you need to keep your generator running reliably. And, if you don't have a generator at all, well then, this is the place to buy one and have it installed in your vehicle. If you want house-type power in your vehicle, then solar panels don't even come close to fulfilling that need. All these van-life people try to rely strictly on solar panels and they end up living in the dark and the cold, because solar panels are minimal at best. If you want house-type power, the only way to get it is with a generator! If you are contemplating ANY type of mobile business, having a generator and electric power makes all the difference in the world! A food truck, perhaps? A mobile pet service van? Even a mobile office! Any type of mobile business where house-type electric is needed. This company will make that happen for you. This is my updated review. I was in the RV when he looked at it and he didn't even try to start it. I would have heard it if he had. He then said he was going to do an estimate for me and that I could pay the $195 and he would email it to me. I just about fell off my chair when I saw it. To replace my starter, the carb and install a new muffler he quoted me 11 hours @ $175/hr. Trained by Onan and in the biz for years and it was going to take him 11 hours? I don't think so. So beware, he charged me 200 bucks and then sent me a ridiculous quote. I wonder who else he has done this to.
