The best Japanese lager and a glass of white wine was just what we craved. We humped our gear up a short flight of stairs to a room around the corner on the second floor. Beautiful! Clean! Comfortable king bed. Quality engineered hardwood floors, no plastic here. Wood ceilings and pine open closet neatly organized with plush white towels. Thoughtfully appointed room in modern colors that complimented the wood and white linens. All of it, ample space, color coordination (even the old style phone matched the fridge and microwave). But the bathroom was amazing. Beautiful tile work, walls and floor. The plumbing fixtures look like "steam pump" style in brass. Nothing was missed here. Everything matches. Clearly the owner takes great pride in this motel and has gone above and beyond to make their guest's stay remarkable and memorable. Needless to say, we are impressed and so pleased to find this gem. We highly recommend the Timbers Motel. We will return.

I stayed for 3 nights, and my room was never cleaned. We called housekeeping every day, and there was no answer. I was told the room was cleaned every other day, which means on Tuesday the room should have been cleaned. I will admit that on Monday we were out for breakfast and then back to get ready for the graduation, so the do-not-disturb sign was on the door. However, the next morning we called housekeeping for service, and again, no answer. We left for the day, and nothing. If the room is only cleaned every other day, that would be the day it was due to be cleaned. I had to go to the front desk and beg for clean towels. This is unacceptable. I contacted Marriott, and the hotel has deposited 25,000 Bonvoy points into my account (as stated in the hotel manager's email), which is equivalent to a half-night stay at a Marriott property. Unacceptable. I asked for a refund for a portion of my trip, but they refused. For $500 a night, this is what I got. I would hate to see what you get at their regular rates.

Freeway access was close by. The University of Oregon is probably a 10 minute drive from here. There are also a number of restaurants within walking distance. There's also dining (and Starbucks) available onsite. I would have no problem staying here again. It's a good Courtyard. The staff was very friendly, too.

Mattress/pillows-3-I was going to give the bed a 2 but not sure if it's entirely the beds fault or also mine. The mattress doesn't seem as comfortable as the typical Hilton mattress (due to being a Hampton Inn?). Four pillows, all very flat and hard to sleep on, again not sure if it's entirely the pillows fault hence the 3. Elevator speed/availability-n/a- don't use Gym/pool-4- The gym was very spartan, with one of each of the typical cardio machines (but they all work). There is no pulley/pull-up station and the bench could be replaced with an industrial quality bench as it's a little flimsy. There is a good selection of dumbbells from 10-50lb so that's a big plus. I'm didn't use the pools but it looked nice, no hot tub. Restaurant-n/a. Continental (free) breakfast was good and available until 10:00 am. Staff-5- The entire staff was fantastic, super friendly and quick to answer any question. Honorable mention to both Jeremiah (evening front desk) and the day time front desk manager (I'll get his name and add). Both of the guys were great, really upbeat and knowledgeable about the area. Price5-typical Overall-5- despite the pillows/mattress and bench I will definitely stay here again when I am in the area. I checked in, Sarah at the front desk was amazing: professional and kind. I tried to give them my lifetime Diamond number as it wasn't put in reservation. They had the number. I was upgraded to a suite. I walked into my suite and sure enough as Sarah said a very out of the ordinary goodie bag and a hand written card thanking me for bringing a Diamond for life. Suite was great, bed very comfy. Breakfast was good. The coffee was very hot snd nice as they made new coffee. Sarah was kind enough to print out a multi page document I needed. (This Hampton does not have a business center unfortunately) I wish every stay at Hampton was like this! I appreciate all the staff at Eugene Hampton Inn. Thank you from a business traveler! JR

Complimentary water and snacks in the lobby are so nice to come back to at the end of the night and the pastries that are there to greet you in the morning, especially the poppyseed scone...YUM!!!!! Such a unique and cozy place, comfortable rooms and a VERY impressive staff that gives exceptional customer service with a smile. We have already decided we will be back for another stay!!
