Orange juice and coffee are standard and they have a breakfast kombucha if you want something a little healthier and probiotic. They also have a happy hour with regional wine, bubbles, and local beer for really reasonable prices if you just need a refresher after getting back to the hotel. The location is unbeatable with just a couple of blocks to excellent places to eat downtown like The Davis, and the Eugene Public Library nearby.

The wifi (which I use a LOT) was kind of weak, and totally dropped out a couple of times. I finally got tired of messing with it. The beds were pretty good, and the AC wall unit in back was able to cool the place down to good sleeping temps. The young lady at the front desk was very nice, but I sometimes Over all, this is not my first choice of a place to stay, but it's adequate. One could do worse.

For that amount (which I had no…read moreproblem paying because every hotel was in demand at this time of year), I would have expected beds without springs pushing into our backs (not just 1, but both), housekeeping, clean towels, and the shower amenities to be filled. I stayed for 3 nights, and my room was never cleaned. We called housekeeping every day, and there was no answer. I was told the room was cleaned every other day, which means on Tuesday the room should have been cleaned. I will admit that on Monday we were out for breakfast and then back to get ready for the graduation, so the do-not-disturb sign was on the door. However, the next morning we called housekeeping for service, and again, no answer. We left for the day, and nothing. If the room is only cleaned every other day, that would be the day it was due to be cleaned. I had to go to the front desk and beg for clean towels. This is unacceptable. I contacted Marriott, and the hotel has deposited 25,000 Bonvoy points into my account (as stated in the hotel manager's email), which is equivalent to a half-night stay at a Marriott property. Unacceptable. I asked for a refund for a portion of my trip, but they refused. For $500 a night, this is what I got. I would hate to see what you get at their regular rates.

Mattress/pillows-3-I was going to give the bed a 2 but not sure if it's entirely the beds fault or also mine. The mattress doesn't seem as comfortable as the typical Hilton mattress (due to being a Hampton Inn?). Four pillows, all very flat and hard to sleep on, again not sure if it's entirely the pillows fault hence the 3. Elevator speed/availability-n/a- don't use Gym/pool-4- The gym was very spartan, with one of each of the typical cardio machines (but they all work). There is no pulley/pull-up station and the bench could be replaced with an industrial quality bench as it's a little flimsy. There is a good selection of dumbbells from 10-50lb so that's a big plus. I'm didn't use the pools but it looked nice, no hot tub. Restaurant-n/a. Continental (free) breakfast was good and available until 10:00 am. Staff-5- The entire staff was fantastic, super friendly and quick to answer any question. Honorable mention to both Jeremiah (evening front desk) and the day time front desk manager (I'll get his name and add). Both of the guys were great, really upbeat and knowledgeable about the area. Price5-typical Overall-5- despite the pillows/mattress and bench I will definitely stay here again when I am in the area. I checked in, Sarah at the front desk was amazing: professional and kind. I tried to give them my lifetime Diamond number as it wasn't put in reservation. They had the number. I was upgraded to a suite. I walked into my suite and sure enough as Sarah said a very out of the ordinary goodie bag and a hand written card thanking me for bringing a Diamond for life. Suite was great, bed very comfy. Breakfast was good. The coffee was very hot snd nice as they made new coffee. Sarah was kind enough to print out a multi page document I needed. (This Hampton does not have a business center unfortunately) I wish every stay at Hampton was like this! I appreciate all the staff at Eugene Hampton Inn. Thank you from a business traveler! JR
