Love Love Love this bakery in Montreal. Whenever I'm visiting this Canadian foodie city, I make a point to visit Boulangerie Guillaume for some of the best baked goods in the area; especially their variety of croissants. Since its creation in 2010, Boulangerie Guillaume has been guided by a particular vision of artisanal baking. "Work" is above all a tool for fulfillment and participation in the community. The strength of the work is seen on these black uniforms mottled with white; it is lively and organic. Boulangerie Guillaume 5170 boulevard Saint-Laurent, Montréal, QC, H2T 1R8 @guillaumebakery

Amazing variety of fresh baked goods. We loved the brioche and the olive bread. All the locals come here. There's too many choices to pick from.

What a fun place that I stumbled into! Was walking in the area and noticed this bakery getting a lot of customers, and I can see why! Their pastries were really good, my favorite was the apricot pastry. They have a lot of bread selections to choose from as well.

This nice boulangerie on St Laurent, caught our attention as we were walking around the neighborhood. The smell of fresh bread and sweet pastries made us come inside. The variety of the bread and pastries was outstanding. We got some bread to eat as we walked around and it was just fresh and delicious....What a find !

One of the most iconically wonderful boulangeries in Montreal (yes, you can hold me to that!) I have been a loyal customer for years, and I believe that their breads and pastries are unmatched. I always recommend grabbing a few of the champignons to go with your order. Beyond the baked goods, the staff are kind, service is fast, prices are incredible reasonable, and the space is clean!

Tried the galette here and it was pretty good. It tastes almost like a focaccia. Tons of baked goods at this bakery

It's a serviceable bakery - not sure what the hype is all about. Bread was decent - we tried several among the vast selection available. The olive fougasse was probably the best one. The rest were good texture-wise, but not particularly flavorful. I would skip the Viennoiserie (pastries) altogether. As you can tell from other Yelpers photos, the puff pastry base for the croissants and other pastries is limp, lacks structure, and there's no "flake" to it whatsoever. The pain au chocolat is just plain squidgy, texture-wise. The brownies, cookies, and other novelties are tasty; the date brownie was one of the better items we tried. If I were to offer any advice: reduce the number of items on the menu and focus on improving the Viennoiserie (or: eliminate it from the lineup altogether, since it's the weakest link). The service here is very good, though!

Great place for fresh pastries and coffee and tea. Pastries and breadd are fresh, and the staff are very friendly. It seems like it is a very popular place among the locals, which is always a good sign! We found street parking quite easily. Not sure if parking would be troublesome on any other day, or if there is alternative parking elsewhere.

Yup. This the one! Looking for a classic croissant or no frills chocolate chip cookie ? A more refined soufflé ? This place has everything you need. Buttery , goey , soft. Eveyything you heard about Montreal's take on French patisserie is true at this place. Will be returning to stack up a box full for the ride home !

Montréal in my opinion- goes right with everything. Plus bread is an extremely important part of Montréal culture, and rightfully so- because we never want to leave here without eating their Breads. We had bypassed Guillaume on our way to 'afternoon tea'- so wanted to make a move afterwards. Right in the Plateau-Mont-Royal section, Guillaume has practically any and every Bread imaginable. We picked up a mouth-watering Baguette that was both kind of chewy inside but had the crunchiest crust outside- not to mention, had a nice narrow width. I honestly don't remember the price- but for whatever it's worth- it was freaking great. Not sure either on whether they make their breads in house- but for quality this good, I honestly can't imagine they're made elsewhere. Baguette isn't the only thing here- these folks carry Flatbread-types filled with Olives, they have Brioches and tons more. If you're a bread lover, come here. And seems like everything they bake turns into gold. But listen...I can't tell if this is THE best bread bakery in all of Montréal- but ratings do speak for themselves.

Grand loaf at lunch. Crunchy outside and soft and chewy inside. Perfect.

The reviews looked great, so we made our way over for some bakes. I assume La Cave gets its name from the fact that you are kinda entering a cave. The bakery is located in a basement surrounded in stone both on the exterior and interior. The bakery isn't large, but it's arranged in a way that foot traffic flows well. They have a good variety of bakes, though we were there relatively late in the day so some had already run out. Despite that, we had several to choose from. We decided to go with the ham and cheese croissant and one of their stuffed croissants. The former was pretty standard - there's wasn't a lot of ham but the flavor was there. The latter was one of those viral circular croissants that have been popular on social media; they had three flavors and I went with the lemon meringue. It was pretty good - it had a good ratio of stuffing to pastry and the lemon curd had a bright flavor. Service as good, the team was eager to help and super efficient. Overall, I had a good experience at La Cave a Manger - there are definitely some good bakes here and I wouldn't hesitate to return to try more of their menu.

The Long Version: So I had never heard of Rossetti before. They didn't exist when I was living in Montreal (the 2000s) and after I left, my husband (who was still my boyfriend at the beginning) and I would return often (at least a few times a year until 2019) and I'm pretty sure they weren't around then. We took a few years hiatus from visiting Montreal and then when we returned in 2024, boom, Rossetti had 4 different locations in the downtown core! What's their origin story? I have no idea. Their website has no "About Us" section. All I know is they opened sometime between 2020 and 2024, lol. I tried their caramel eclair ($5.50). The caramel icing was really tasty, but I found the choux pastry and the custard filling a bit dry. They have cannoli, amaretti, financiers, croissants and tarts. They also have sandwiches and pizza. I was disappointed that they didn't have sfogliatella, my favourite Italian pastry. Oh, they also have coffees and teas. The interior is nice with seating to dine in. Service was neutral. I may return to try another item. Maybe at one of their other locations. Review #16 (2025)

While in Miami last year, my husband, mother-in-law and I became big fans of the Rosetta on lower Collins Ave and then once they opened the one by Lincoln Center in NYC, we began to visit that one often since it's walking distance. After climbing to the Kondiaronk Belvedere on Mont Royal, we decided we needed sustenance on our way back down and we spied Rosetti as we were walking back to our hotel. Since it looked very similar to Rosetta, we decided to stop in and grab a bite. The sandwiches and pastries were on full display and we knew we made a good choice. I had a Pizza Margherita which was huge...I could have shared it. I also had a caramel tart for a sweet treat afterwards. Others in the group had sandwiches and other sweets which they all enjoyed. There are some stools at a counter downstairs and a little more seating upstairs with a few low tables along with some high tops and counters. The ladies who worked there were very nice. We enjoyed our food and think it's a great place for a quick bite that's a bit elevated from traditional fast food.
