This places on the main drag of SunPraire just past Salvadores pizza. It was once a Greek restaurant but that is long gone. Food here is genuine Mexican and the decor they changed it to is very nice. Music (Spanish ) is ok but a little loud for me. Service was very good and so was the food. My two street tacos, one chicken and one beef were filled with good stuff and the rice and beans were better than average. My wife had the enchilada dinner and was happy with what she got. I thought the taco shells were a little greasy and the complimentary chips and salsa although tasty were the same way. Salsa was excellent. Full bar and parking is either on the street or in a free lot behind the building. A nice addition to Main Street with nice people running it. Stop by or get take out as many were. read more

Mexican Restaurants all just about seem to be the same so I judge the them on what stands out. It wasn't the top shelf margaritas. Three sips and it was gone way to much ice and I would have had to order 3 more to finish my meal (not cheap)! Lots of parking out back. read more

The food is absolutely delicious and it tastes like a home cooked meal. I ordered the Chilaquiles with egg (12.00) and the fried jalapeños (7.00). I have been here a few times. Today was kinda disappointing because my meat in my menudo was still hard. NOT cooked long enough. The flavor was good but a little thicker broth would be better. It was kinda watery this time. I have ordered it in the past a few times and it was good. The lengua taco was NOT good it was kinda burnt taste and very fatty. The best was definitely the pastor tacos on a flower tortilla. Them were so good. The salsa for the chips taste like a jar from the store but the salsa for the tacos are great. I could have drank the red sauce. The employees were nice and did a great job. The place is clean and big inside. Just a little disappointed on the menudo this time. The restaurant shares an entry with additional businesses and from the street doesn't look like much but this is a hidden gem! The Gordita platter special and tacos dorados were delicious. Portion sizes are generous (I needed a to-go-box). When you enter you order at the counter pay then go select your seat and your beverages and food are brought to you. Someone does check in on you while you're dining so I do recommend considering a tip at the point of sale. read more

Ordered to go Chili Relleno's they were the worst I have ever had. They were swimming in a sauce that had zero flavor. Cheese inside was not melted and had a rubber like texture. My friend and I loved how festive it was on the inside from the decor, the food including the salsas and background music! Guimo's had fast friendly service & a variety of different menu items. I had the supreme fajitas with chicken, beef, & shrimp which was delicious but honestly not the best Mexican cuisine or fajitas I have tried in the area but hoping to change or update my review after trying more items. Food was really good but I am giving 3 stars because I thought the beef for fajitas could have been a little bit more tenderized to be less chewy. I was a little bummed out. They do not serve cocktails or alcohol which I think could bring in even more money for their business but food was great alone. So far this is my favorite mexican place in Sun Prairie. You order at the counter and pay ahead. They don't serve any liquor or beer, but somehow I still like the place. The menu looked promising and I tried their chilies rellenos, as I do where ever I can find them. They were served with "their own tomato sauce" which was close to tasteless. New location is nice but a completely chaotic mess that needs some ironing out. No system for wait staff. Sat at bar and ordered drinks and chips and salsa: had to ask three more times for our order. Several takeout orders were brought out to others waiting and each was wrong and sent back. One customer had to insist on checking out because of needing to be somewhere else. Person taking our check didn't know prices of things and had to wait to ask management which took forever. These things could easily be resolved with better organization and systems. Didn't stay for food because it was anxiety-producing. It's new, I get it. Hope it does well -- with improvement. read more
