Super fun interactive brewery tour! Lots of information but lots of ways to consume it. They offer many languages for this self guided tour. Many restaurants (some don't open til 12). Your free pint of Guinness (or soda) at the end of the tour is really just a cherry on top to a really cool experience. And because it is self guided you can move on whenever you're ready. Even if you don't do beer go the tasting room and smell and learn about how the beer should be consumed!
Summary: Highly recommend. If you enjoy Guinness Beer and products or how Arthur Guinness positively impacted the economy and families of Dublin, the tour is worthwhile. Schedule a few hours to get the full effect. When my family and I planned our trip to Ireland and scheduled a stay in Dublin for a few nights, we reserved tickets for the Guinness Storehouse tour. On the day of the tour, we walked past the horse and buggy rides on Bellevue and posed for pictures by the iconic large Guinness Gates, I could feel the anticipation building. Walking inside the main entrance and through the ticket area was relatively sterile and quiet. Once inside the Storehouse, however, sights and sounds abounded. Tours begin at the center and bottom floor of the seven floor, pint-shaped (as in a pint glass) atrium. Although a tour guide kicked off our experience with interesting facts and history, most of the tour was self-guided. A quick summary of the 7 floors: Picture an immersive infomercial (but one you chose), with some cool displays along the way. And, several opportunities to drink the world-famous Guinness Stout. If you like to drink Guinness, all the ticket packages include the drinking room where you are taught how to enjoy a Guinness with a smaller glass and given a coupon for a free pint or non-alcoholic beverage choice on the top floor at the Gravity Bar. We chose the Academy package where we learned how to pour the "Perfect Pint", receive a certificate (of proof of completion), and then enjoyed our beer, complete with a foam mustache. We enjoyed the view and another brew at the Gravity Bar. Food options are available along the way and the big merch area is located on the bottom floor.
Guinness storehouse is well worth the price of admission. There's all the marketing piece, but when you arrive on the tasting room floor, there is a large hall, where if you stay for a while, there is a 40 minute show. Ours started with a drum lesson (bodran), and then had a live band complete with Irish dancers and and electric harp player. It was great and felt like an Irish experience. Upstairs, the views were fantastic and the food was quite good with ample portions. I felt like it was an excellent experience and I'm surprised they haven't opened one in Las Vegas and Orlando!
The Guinness Storehouse is a must if you're in the area. I don't really care for beer, but I tried mine with black currant and it was so good! You could easily spend 30 minutes or 4 hours here. It's a beautiful "museum" and easy to navigate. Give yourself a little longer than you think you'll need.
If you're a Guinness lover like me then it's only proper you visit the Storehouse in Dublin. I've been twice. It's seven stories of history, nostalgia, and well, beer! This was once the fermentation plant but now it's got the Guinness Academy where you learn to do a proper pour, an experimental pub, gravity bar, food, a gift shop...of course. The first time I went it took me about two hours or so to get through the whole place. Took about an hour the second time because I knew what I wanted to see and do. There are interactive exhibits that help provide history and education on the brewing process, how Guinness started, and so on. I highly suggest purchasing tickets in advance because they get so busy and you don't want to miss out on this extraordinary experience.
The Guinness Storehouse is absolutely worth the visit -- a newer, beautifully designed installation that's genuinely impressive from start to finish. It's a self‑guided experience that you move through at your own pace while learning about everything from how the iconic beer is made, to the evolution of its marketing and advertisements, to the history of the Guinness family and brand. It's engaging, modern, and well done. Make sure to stop at the Guinness Academy, where the staff teaches you how to pour the perfect pint (a must‑do). After that, head to the top floor for a 360° view of Dublin and the factory grounds. You also get another pint on the house -- enjoy it with friends while taking in the views. Don't forget to stop at the gift shop on the way down; they have something for everyone. Highly recommend booking a reservation, and the earlier the better. We arrived at 10am on a Wednesday and by the time we left around 12:30pm, the place was absolutely mobbed. A fun, immersive, and well‑run experience. Five stars and an easy recommendation for anyone visiting Dublin.
Admitredly part of the reason I even wanted to visit Ireland+Dublin was due to my love of Guinness. Touring the storehouse did not disappoint! Despite how large the place is, it was easy to find the beginning of the tour and follow along from there. The building is several stories and covers the finest details of the Guinness production from the family to the land, ingredients, and those that work behind the scenes! I enjoyed the marketing section which showed some rather quirky ways that past Guinness advertisements were made. The bar at the end where you can finally have a pint of Guinness is a perfect finale to the rather epic tale. Overall, I was very happy with my experience and would definitely recommend it!
Super cool self-lead tour. We loved the visual aspect of everything that really was an experience like no other. Try to give yourself at least 2 -3 hours if you want to take your time, have enough time for the rooftop lounge and enough time for any other experience you may do. We chose to do the StouTie experience which is a pint of Guinness with your picture on top. It was sooooo cool. I would recommend that they make the picture purchasable because I would have liked to preserve the picture forever! Store was really big and plenty of things to buy. So glad we did this experience.
Such a cool experience! Highly recommend buying tickets in advance especially if you want the Stoutie experience. Tickets were SOLD out for weeks. We were able to get tickets for self guided tours. This place is huge and you can easily spend hours here. Every floor is well labeled. Place is very clean given the amount of tourist that visit. Service is exceptional the staff here are amazing. There are food options and few restaurants for anyone that wants to sit and have a meal. There is also a store where you can purchase merchandise. The tour itself was very educational and not boring as a lot of cool technology is used to educate on the beer process. I am so glad I went here.
I know this is super touristy but it's honestly so worth the hype. We easily spent three hours there and probably could have done more. Each floor covered interesting material and despite the number of people we never felt overcrowded. Yes, I paid an extra €8 to drink a pint with my face on it. No, I don't regret it. Great views from the Gravity Bar. Also the merch was surprisingly cheap! A lot of shirts under €30 which I wasn't expecting.
This was a must for us while visiting Ireland! The storehouse/ tour is 7 floors and each floor has something different to offer. There are different ticketing options and we went with the one that offers a selfie option. This was so cute and fun to do. You will learn about the taste, the making, and history of Guinness. The staff was so friendly and even recommended us to one of the best pubs we tried! This was such a cool experience!!
You cannot come to Dublin and not stop at the Guinness storehouse. It was one of my favorite museums / stops in Dublin likely because not only was this place educational, you'll get some of the best Guinness served right at your fingertips! We definitely pilgrimaged to the Guinness storehouse. From our hotel it was a steep climb but well worth it (you can easily taxi - we were saving our money for beer). I'd highly recommend buying your tickets in advance as it'll be easy in and also my second pro tip is the earlier you can get in the better. Like any museum / major tourist attraction, the later into the day the busier it will get. This is key if you want to hit their bar (which I get to later). The actual Guinness Museum / self paced tour was pretty interesting. We purchased headsets so that we could listen to different speakers talk through our assent of the multifloor museum. Some floors are better than others in my opinion or it depends what you're interested in... I personally loved the floor where they talked about advertising and the famous animal cartoons that have been depicted for Guinness for years, such as the toucan or the turtle. They have an animatronic fish on this floor and I won't tell you the quote but it's one of my favorites ;) you definitely have to go check it out for yourself because it makes me laugh every time. Also, like any good museum I did enjoy their gift shop. They have everything and anything you could think of... It's the perfect shop for beer lovers or just that nostalgic logo that makes for the perfect gifts to take home. I say you get the best selection here but honestly throughout Dublin most gift stores have Guinness memorabilia so don't feel pressured to buy something here, but I will say they had a great store. Another floor that I really liked was the small Guinness sampling room. All guests get a complementary shooter of Guinness. That room has a live staff member who talks you through the Guinness and the pour, it's also fun to all Enjoy the sip together. OK, ending my review strong on why you will want to come early... The top floor leads you to their Guinness gravity bar that overlooks the city of Dublin and has some of the best views you'll get with a pint anywhere. As simple as it was, I'm a sucker for a really good view and a cold beer. I also like that you can come to this bar without having to pay for the museum. You'll wanna get here early though to get a great table by the window and honestly, we sat here for almost 2 hours drinking beer because it was pure perfection. They serve a variety of their beers up top and the staff were very nice. At one point in time they also had Irish dancers come up to do some traditional dances while you sip your beer. This was a 10/10 experience and something you must do on your trip here.

When I came here, I was not a big fan of Guinness. After leaving, I have grown to love this delicious beer and it's rich history. The museum costs something like $20, and is self guided. You'll navigate several floors of various Guinness related memorabilia or Guinness fun facts. The space is open and modern and easy to navigate. I'd plan on spending 30-60 minutes on the actual tour. Towards the end of the tour, you have an option of doing a Guinness tasting where you get to smell various parts that make a Guinness taste exactly as it does. Honestly, this was super interesting, as the 4 smells you get to interact with actually do prominently appear in the beer! You also get a voucher at the beginning of the tour for a free pint. Take this and learn to pour your own pint of Guinness. The wait on a busy Saturday was about 15 minutes for me, so it should definitely be manageable. At the end, you get a certificate showing that you know how to pour a proper pint. Once you have your pint, head up to the top floor and enjoy the view of Dublin! read more
An absolute must! Even if you aren't a Guinness, or even a beer fan for that matter, the Guinness Storehouse is so well done and fascinating. As a visitor to Dublin, you will learn so much about the history and how Guinness truly shaped the city and country for that matter. Pay the extra few bucks for the "skip the line" tickets because when the weather is nice, the line can be hours long. You won't regret a visit! read more

I've wanted to visit Ireland for over a decade and I finally made it. My husband had wanted to visit the Guinness factory long before we met so we decided to go all in and book the connoisseur tasting. It cost about $130 US dollars for the 2 of us but it was so much fun. I don't drink beer but through the hour and a half class I learned a lot and actually found a Guinness beer that I really enjoyed. We were served 4 types of Guinness beers and finished with the 5th beer of the Guinness Draught which everyone in the class was able to pour their own from the tap with instructions from the teacher. My husband absolutely loved the course and I did as well. We finished the class and then took a tour of the rest of the building for the history of Guinness. We went to the 5th floor bar to choose from a larger selection of beers to choose with our free pint on our ticket. Once we had our free pints we grabbed some of the Guinness stew from the cafe which was around 14 Euros but a large portion and totally worth it, we really enjoyed it. We finished up by going to the 7th floor to take in the view of Dublin and then before leaving grabbed some mugs and bottle openers from the gift shop which we felt was priced right compared to many other tourist attractions where a mug can run 15-30 Euro we found our Guinness mugs for 8 & 13 Euro. Take the time and expect to spend 1 1/2 hours for the connoisseur class and then another hour or two to enjoy the rest of what Guinness has to offer. Excellent and informative tour about the Guinness brewing process. It's a beautiful building filled chocabloc with memorabilia about the Guinness family and brewing in general. While this is certainly a very touristy area - apparently the biggest tourist destination in Dublin - the company has made much effort to appeal to as many demographics as possible. Tix are normally €25, but you can order ahead online for €18.50 (something I'd definitely recommend due to price and convenience). Naturally, the earlier you go, the fewer people there will be. We purchased a 12:30 tour, but were permitted to enter earlier, around 11am. O, felix culpa! What we were told would be about a 90min self-guided tour ended up as a 4+ hour visit. The Guinness Academy gives you an opportunity to learn to properly pour this famous stout, and the top floors are filled with restaurants and bars of various quality (though unless this is somehow very important to you, there are many many excellent pubs, cafes, and eateries within just a few moments of the storehouse). This visit wasn't even spent drinking - there are simply so many historical facets exhibited at the Storehouse. Not only can you learn about the Guinness stout itself, but about beer brewing, ingredient cultivation, cooperage, the advertising and cultural effect of the Guinness brand on the industry, and special impact that this family has had on Dublin over the centuries. If you're looking for iconic craft beer brewed in Ireland, make sure to check out some pubs outside of Temple Bar at the advice of a knowledgable local (the Guinness brand has been owned by multinational corporation Diageo since '97). But if you've never been to Dublin, this place is definitely worth a stop. read more

Even if you're not a beer fan this is c an awesome place to visit and learn the history of Ireland most iconic beer. The is a lot to do and see in this multi level experience. I recommend not "rushing" through it it's full of tidbits of knowledge about Arthur's passion for creating this fine beer. I might be a bit biased as it's one of my favourite beers. The are several great photo spots so you can get a room of different backgrounds and props. You can learn the reason why pouring this point takes time and will have the opportunity to put your own. You can even have a Stoutie done. Which is where the take your selfie and create it in the head of your beer. Current price of this is £6 They have a variety of foods in different locations which have been quite delicious everyone I've gone. If you have the opportunity and like trying and learning about beer I also recommend booking the connoisseur experience. This is a very limited number experience and only 40 people per day get to do this. So book it in advance. read more

A fun experience! I don't particularly enjoy beer but I enjoyed touring around and learning about the process! You can definitely can spend a whole day here, just reading all the facts, watching the videos and doing all the interactive stuff. The building is HUGE. There's around 7 floors I think. I really enjoyed the commercial/ads floor and being able to learn and pour my own beer! If you choose to pour your own beer, you only get one option. But if you wait for the gravity bar they have more options. The gravity bar was pretty cool too. You can see a good amount of Dublin! The only hard part is that the gravity bar is usually really crowded, so you probably won't find a seat. It's also hard to find an empty spot by the walls to take a picture (but definitely easier than finding a seat). For anyone visiting Ireland, I would recommend people to come visit. I didn't even really drink my beer and I had a great time! (Literally when I left my glass was still full). read more
So, I feel like 3 stars may be a bit harsh and I really wanna give 3.5, but hear me out. For starters, I had an AWESOME time. I think it's definitely worth a shot going, if you're in Dublin. I didn't realize until we got there that it's a self guided tour. I don't always mind this, but I sort of enjoy the personalization of tours when the tour guide throws random facts out at ya! I was a bit bummed about that. Secondly, there is a ton of information, videos etc that you can read about and watch but for me it still wasn't enough. The videos are also hard to read. I really was hoping to see how (like with my eyeballs) how the beer was made and that didn't happen. I thought I was gunna get to walk through the factory where they packaged the Guinness and watch through a huge window, NOPE to be fair, I don't even know if the beer is actually made at this specific location. I know it once was and parts of the process are done at the storehouse but I wanted more. The gravity bar is cool and we also got to learn how to properly drink a Guinness, as well. We got hungry along the way. We stopped by for some vegetable soup and Irish soda bread which was bomb! It was cool, I liked it but I didn't love it. read more
You know, I'm totally bias to this place, but I'm going to post my totally bias review anyway! But I'm not posting about the tour (which by the way is fabulous in its own right), but rather the Events at the Storehouse! And my review is 8 years over due! In March of 2010 my husband and I decided to get married in Ireland. I'm % Irish (first generation American) and my husband is half. So in 2007 we got engaged while visiting the Emerald Isle and decided to return to the scene of the crime to tie the knot! We so we invited 50 of our friends and Irish family to join us in March 2010! And where better to celebrate our Irish wedding than at Guinness! I saw they hosted Christmas Parties, so why not a wedding? And our yanks (the Americans) would love to visit Ireland's biggest export and tourist spot while raising a toast of Stout and celebrating! So we reached out and coordinated our wedding reception with the staff. Coordinating across the Atlantic and time zones was easy enough via email and Guinness set up a menu tasting two days before the wedding to let us finalize the menu! They were amazing and pulled off a fabulously fun wedding! Thank you Neil! Couldn't have asked for a better venue to represent Ireland as a whole and showcase the wonderful food, people and Stout! The food was as amazing! The Guinness beef is still the talk of the wedding as well as the flowing pints! The bar men were amazing both at serving and entertaining the guests with their charm! I highly recommend any event at the Storehouse from Weddings to Birthdays to a corporate outing! read more

A museum/brewery/gift shop with a tour for 10 Euro that culminates with a free pint of Guinness? How do you turn that down? Believe it or not, we kinda did! Upon arrival at this fabulous location of happiness, my friends and I bypassed the entire tour and spent two hours in the gift shop. Purchases included: a pair of Guinness slippers (replaced last summer, because they're not the most durable things), a Guinness apron, and a set of Guinness coasters. Also cute were the christmas tree lights, pyjama sets, and piggy bank. read more
1759--Arthur Guinness, just 34 years old...a faithful servant of God, a man who built up his dream, armed with a deep social conscience....you think I'm yankin' your chain, but I'm trying to kindly let you all in on how this porter with the trademark foamy & creamy head came to be! This brewery located at St James' s Gate was formerly known as Rainsford's Ale Brewery, and along came this great Irishman who leased the property for 9,000 years (yupperz; he did so in order to save it from doom, and leased at $80/yr)... worried about his fellow kinsmen who would drink themselves into oblivion at the whiskey and gin houses, he longed to improve the society and give the youth of IE something delicious and a bit more healthy to imbibe... In comes Guinness, a porter made of roasted barley (I loooooove Korean barely tea..sorry for the aside), a very filling, smooth, creamy dark, slightly bitter beer!!!! This was a rather stupendous and fun, silly tour... goofing about at the various stations for placing your head into a wooden cut-out... listening to how the tales...wandering the labyrinth at St James's Gate... At the conclusion of the tour, there's a long, fun bar whereby you're treated to a free pint (pivo!!!!). Enjoy more at any pub in town, as it's the national beer...and get a ploughman's meal...YUM. read more

I will preface this post with the fact that my bf and i don't really drink beer. with that said, this place was pretty cool, in terms of the layout, the creativity of the setup and the information it explained about how the beer is made and to think that 2 million+ pints a day are made/drank daily is mind boggling. i have to admit we rushed through most of the self guided tour and were disappointed to find that the pour your own perfect pint was no longer open. The gravity bar was cool. Nice view of Dublin. Ok so the beer.. again, not huge fans of beer, but it was so cool to watch the beer do it's thing with the foaming and it was funny to watch others diving for their chance to taste it before the bartender could "top it off." It was cool to be able to taste it, but i really don't like beer and unfortunately Guinness was no exception. It was a bit dark for my taste as well and i felt bad that we didn't give our extra ticket to someone who would've enjoyed it more than we did. overall i'd say i'm happy i went. i got personalized Guinness' for my brothers who thought it was cool. This place is a fun place to visit, and of course a must-see if you are ever in Dublin. You can learn interesting facts such as: The water in Guinness comes from the Wicklow Mountains, not the River Liffey. I also got to eat some roasted barley, and it was really good! Really brings out the flavor of the beer. The Guinness Taste Experience teaches you how to enjoy the beer properly (Listen, Look, Touch, Smell, Taste)... but I think I just chugged my sample without really following the 5 steps... It's really fun to pour your own perfect pint of beer, and then you even get a certificate of authentication to prove it. The Gravity Bar upstairs also offers a nice view over the city. Be sure to allow yourself ample time to see everything, craft the perfect pint of beer, AND be able to enjoy it. My friend and I got there too late in the afternoon and were a bit rushed in the end, so we didn't have time to finish our beers before the place closed. :( read more

It's beyond touristy! It's really huge! You get one pint of Guinness draught! Wooooo! I wasn't terribly impressed besides with how much effort they've put into making this a real experience beyond just a brewery tour and sales point for tourist junk. The Tasting Room was fun, and so was Guinness Academy. Food on 5th floor was better than that on the 2nd floor, but still just meh and overpriced. read more
If you are visiting Dublin, Ireland the home of Guinness Beer you have a wonderful opportunity to tour and learn the history of Guinness Beer. I was glad to get that opportunity and learn the history of Guiness. This is a self guided tour that is pretty well laid out. I would recommend you set aside two to three hours to take the tour depending on how fast you want to go and how busy they are that day. You will learn about Arthur Guinness, the ingredients that go into Guiness Beer, the history, advertising, how to pour a proper Guiness Pint, and enjoying a pint. I would have actually liked to have seen the process they currently use for making Guinness. This is a great experience and you learn a lot. It's quite a journey and the view from the Gravity Bar is fabulous on a clear day. read more

They weren't lying when they said Guinness tastes better in Ireland. Guinness storehouse is amazing, you have to stop by if you are in town. The whole town is pretty much built on guinness. The tour in itself is vast and pretty amazing. It goes through everything from how the beer is made on several different levels, and ends at the top where you can learn how to pour beer proper like. We opted to do the guinness academy even though the line was a bit long. It's gimmicky but still pretty fun to "learn how to pour" and get a certificate saying you've been trained. Enjoy a guinness on the top level with amazing views of the whole city! read more

This was one of my favorite tours. I had originally thought it would be pretty corporate since Guinness is a huge company but it wasn't. It was a self guided tour through the storehouse. I really liked that it was self guided because a guided tour could get too intense with all the crowds. We also stopped by the tasting room where you got a mini pint to taste. The best part is obviously the gravity bar. The views were amazing as was the perfectly poured pint. For the record--it does taste better in Ireland than in the states. We got there fairly early a little before 11 and there were tons of people by the time we left--I'd suggest getting there on the early side to avoid a ton of people. read more

I was surprised by how vast and interactive this experience turned out being. I have done brewery tours before, but they were incredibly low-scale compared to this one. Be prepared for long lines and lots of people. My friends and I purchased the Dublin Pass in advance and went straight through the front on a separate line. Had we not, we would have been behind what looked like at least 350 people waiting to purchase admission. The folks at Guinness have certainly expended great thought and resources in creating this unique experience, but I couldn't help but feel like it was all very "Disney", for lack of a better word. The visit seemed very commercialized and modern, and not exactly what I expected from one of the oldest and most traditional brewing companies in the world. Regardless, there was plenty to see and do, and how could you not come away happy after enjoying a fresh and perfectly poured pint at the highest bar in Dublin. read more

This tour is self guided go at your own pace other than the cost in the amount of walking this is a really fun and exciting tour to learn about Candace you learn a lot about the beer making process and on the outside and looks like nothing but on the inside it is brand new and full of history were going to the gravity bar at the end and pouring your own stout read more
If you're visiting Ireland, I would definitely recommend coming here just to say you were there. My husband and I did the self guided tour, which was nice because we were able to go at our own pace. The brewery had a lot of fun elements to it, like a wall of hops, an indoor waterfall, and a tasting room. The tasting room was pretty neat, a lot of people surprisingly opted out of it, even though it's included in the tour. When you walk in you get to walk around different aerators that give off particular scents within the Guiness. It's supposed to help heighten your senses and give for a better tasting experience. You get a little taster shot of the guiness and they teach you how to drink it properly to get all the different tastes in the beer. At the end of the tour, you get to pour your own pint, and then you have the option to go up to the top floor which overlooks the city. It was really cool to see Dublin from that perspective. The tour did seem a bit overpriced, considering it is self guided, however I'm really glad I went for the experience. read more
DISNEYLAND FOR BEER!!!!!!!!! If you are a beer drinker and also love Disneyland you are in luck with this place. They offer a self guided tour and they have documented and presented the manufacturing process of this particular beer very well throughout the facility. There are three levels that offer beer tasting and they even have a restaurant inside. In addition a very large store that offers merchandise from T-shirts to candy made with they miraculous lavation. If you can claim stairs go to the Gravity bar for amazing views of the city. The trick on making the froth at the top of the beer is mixing the liquid with Nitrogen on the first pour, let it settle and then mixing it with two mixed gases, Nitrogen and Carbon Dioxide. There are lots of props through the facility were you can take silly pictures and they have few photo booths as well. This is the most popular attraction in Europe, more popular than the Eiffel Tower even. A must visit while in Dublin. read more

So the tour gets 3 stars. Honestly, it was made for people than need visual stimulation on a tour. It was informative and at times interesting, but too much going on at one time. That being said, the gravity bar gets 5 stars. Great views of the city, and a great place to enjoy your free pint that comes with the ticket. If you want a second pint, you have to go down 2 floors. Price isn't bad at all..5.40€. read more

5 stars for the staff, 3 stars for the exhibit. It felt forcibly drawn-out, much longer than needed to deliver the experience and content that it did. Kind of like when you break up with your SO and want to be nice about it so you take a super long time to explain something you could do in a sentence or two! Pouring and tasting classes were both super cool for a novice drinker like me! Basic knowledge I'd imagine for the bulk of experienced drinkers read more
