We were craving subs and with Jimmy John's strangely closed with no warning we passed Guiseppes and saw their Italian sub special for $7.99 on the way back to our hotel. Stopped in and ordered 2 sub specials and the cashier was very friendly and chatted with us a bit while our order was being made. There were a few customers dining in but mostly orders were take out. The interior is clean and modern with some counter seating in the front and booths lining the side. I asked to use the rest room and its back almost through the kitchen and through another door. It was a bit awkward to find but the kitchen staff must also know this too as they pointed me in the right direction. While out of the way, the restroom is clean which is all you really need/could ask for. We got back to our hotel and unwrapped a HUGE 11 in sub we both split, saving the other for another meal. I wish we asked what the subs had on them as this one was soaked in oil and some banana peppers. No big deal I picked those off. (The deal just said Italian Sub) Toppings also included lettuce, tomato, capicola, salami and ham and cheese. Meat was lacking a bit, only one slice of each meat but the roll was fantastic. Very soft and tasty! A solid stop if you're in the area, just ask what all comes on the sub to make sure you're not surprised like we were. Looking forward to trying their pizza next time we're up. read more

Their $8.50 deal for two slices and a beverage is a steal! The pizzas are really good and super satisfying. Great flavor and just the right amount of crisp. I do wish there was a bit more seating since it can get crowded, but overall, a solid pizza spot that's totally worth it. read more

I stopped in with a friend for lunch. Pizza was fine, thick pillowy crust (not a NY style crust), tomato sauce more tangy than sweet (how I like it). I got the chicken bacon ranch and meal lovers. Fine for a quick lunch stop. read more

The food was good, but don't eat in if you have kids. We stopped on a football weekend when it was just me and my one year old. The bathroom was not big enough for both of us to be in it at the same time let alone change a diaper and they didn't have any high chairs. These may not be dealbreaker for other people, but it makes it hard for a Mom to go out to eat. read more

This pizza is amazing! During a recent visit to State College feeling, like I just wanted to order in, we ordered Giuseppe's Pizza. We ordered medium pizza, extra cheese, half mushroom and onions. It was amazing! The sauce was wonderful (this coming from someone who doesn't like red sauce), the crust was thin and super flavorful. As a bonus we received a free order of breadsticks which we added cheese to. They were super garlicky! It's night #2 of my trip to State College and Giuseppe's will once again be ordered for dinner! read more

As a student from Long Island, NY, this is by far the best pizza in state college. I'd consider the style "Long island"/ New York city type of pizza since the shop serves by the slice. The service is fine and the Pizza comes out quick enough for there to be no noticeable issues waiting. One gripe I have about Giuseppe's is their pizza could be heated up a little more. Let that gooey cheese melt and pull. The ambiance is very reminiscent of classic slice shops all over New York. Ive been there two times now so I'll you the scorecard by the slice: Cheese: 6/10, This sounds bad but for a classic cheese slice in PA this is the best I've had. The strength of Giuseppe's pizza is definitely the crust. Pepperoni: 6.5/10, The pepperoni adds a much needed boost of flavor compared to the classic cheese. This is because the sauce at Giuseppe's is sub par. I would possibly push for a 7 flat rating if you weren't charged 30 cents extra for the pepperoni. Margarita: 7.7/10, By far the best slice I've eaten in state college as a whole. The mozzarella cheese, tomato and basil accompanies the already above average crust. If the establishment properly heated up their pizza's I can see this pushing an 8. Overall Giuseppe's pizza is the best you can ask for when it comes to State College standards. Having a classic "by-the-slice" shop right on college ave is a huge blessing. read more

Pizza is good a bit overpriced per slice but it is a good NYC style pizza slice. I go here a lot with friends especially late at night making the ambiance a good hangout to grab a slice with friends. The service is always kind and fast one issue is the smell of the place however. I don't know if it's because it's new or something but the place just smells like trash which always kinda bothers me but other than that it's a solid choice for a quick slice in State College. I've been many times and I plan on returning! read more

We learned that the owner's background is movie set design and that she worked on movies like Harry Potter, so the decor was a combination of old industrial plant and haunted house. The bar had "potions" with smoke oozing out. There were also skeletons and skulls throughout the restaurant along with spooky photos that changed from normal to scary. She even allowed us to explore the different back rooms one of which she called the "swamp room." The pizza was good, and we enjoyed listening to the live music which wasn't overwhelmingly loud.
