This store may be up to par for someone who doesn't frequent music stores but to me it just sucks. Compare this to NorthDruid this store is ran and looks like a thrift store. Never anyone to help never anyone at the counters everything is strewn all over the store. North Druid is ran like a fine machine. I've spent thousands at this store but I'm done with it. After I pick up my delivery next week me and GC Gwinnett is done. I will use my local or the new GC in Alpheretta but never again gwinnett. read more

My review of the customer service I just got at this Guitar Center. They want your money, but after the sale FORGET ABOUT IT. There techs ate straight up liars/or intentionally misleading at best, or they really don't care about your needs. I dropped off my guitar on Wednesday January 31. The tech Zack asked me when did I want to pick it up ? I said "Friday around 1:45 pm". The tech Zack said " ok thats fine , call me around 10:am friday and if it isnt allready done i will get it done for you that should be no problem " I called at 10:24 am Friday. I asked if it was ready and the tech Zack said" its not ready and I cant control when people walk up and ask me questions. So I will get it done tonight so it will be done first thing in the morning" which would be today Saturday morning. So i called today at 12:06 pm and the tech Zach said "I am working on it as we speak and will I call you as soon as it's done which will be around 3:00 pm". So i got there at 2:20 pm because they have been shady before on thier timeline in the past EVERY TIME I used their tech services. And actually waited until 3:00 pm just to give them the benefit of the doubt. And of course no phone call BUT it was done . So when I got it out of the case it was out of tune. When I tried to point out that I paid for a service and expected the guitar to be in tune, the handed me a damn tuner and said "Here , you can use our tuner". Not to mention fret buzz. Zach the tech guy said "That's what B stirngs sound like,your guitar is fine" I just paid $74 to get it set up and it was out of tune with fret buzz. So when my guitar was on the counter I walked over to the ibanez guitar section and grabbes the cheapest Ibanez jem they had which was a 3rd the cost of mine and it sounded fine.For those wondering what kind of guitar it is , it is a $1,700 Steve Vai Jem. My first experience with Zack and this location was pretty much the same only they were supposed to fix the bridge bolts that they scratched the hell out of by a different Guitar center tech named Teddy In SEPTEMBER and never got a call. This guitar was taken out of the box brand new in the store and handed to a guitar center tech to set up and I picked up damaged. To be fair the damage was done at a different Guitar center and the Tech at the other store's name is Teddy. He was just fricken aweful. The service is great when buy something at the store and walk out. You are happy with what you purchased so it's a good experience. However there tech service sucks balls big time. I even was warned by another Guitar Center store manager that the tech zach at this store is not very reliable when it comes to a timeline. If I could NOT give any stars I wouldn't give them shit. I only came hear because the closer store's at the time did not have techs at there locations last time I checked besides Teddy. And he just plain sucks . I sm sure Zach may do decent work, but I have yet to see or hear about it. His customer service sucks big time. I paid for a service , it wasn't free. Anytime someone pays to have a guitar set up and that company representative hands you an out of tune guitar it says a lot about them and the company they represent and management of the company. I entered with a smile and left disappointed for the 3rd time in a row. I have spent several thousands of dollars at Guitar Center, and they just lost any future business from me. Truth be told most of my friends are musician's and you can bet your ass they will hear about this as well. Also social media is a great outlet to let the public know DO NOT TO GO TO THIS GUITAR CENTER FOR ANY TECH SERVICES UNTIL THE PROPER TRAINING OF THERE EMPLOYEES HAS BEEN ADDRESSED AS FAR AS CUSTOMER SERVICE GOES. Worst service ever. My guitar neck cracked in my hotel room while playing, so we went to the local Guitar Center. We walk in and it looks nice and has a great selection of guitars. So we go to the Repairs booth and start telling this guy what happened. He starts eluding to me that I'm lying. He says "How do you handle your guitar?". So I tell him that I'm playing how I was taught. He then says "Are you sure you are handling it right?" Something along those lines. So my dad tells him he's telling an 11 year old that he is a liar. I went to this store last week with money in my pocket to spend. I set out to buy an American Stratocaster and a Hot Rod Deluxe III amp along with possibly a decent acoustic. When I went to the electric guitar section nobody payed any attention to me. I walked into the acoustic room and an employee came in. I tried to start friendly conversation by saying "lucky you, you get to work in the room that smells good" only to be met with a snide grin and bad attitude. As I asked questions about a few used acoustics I was met with rude one word answers, however when I started showing interest in high end instruments I almost got the employees attention. I then settled on a used Fender T Bucket (wonderful guitar for the price point) for $179 and all the sudden he didn't want anything to do with me. I left the acoustic room with the T Bucket because another employee was teaching a class in the room and I didn't want to disturb them. The same employee walked by me outside the acoustic room soon after and I asked him a question about the guitar only to be duly blown off. I then asked the same employee (I should have learned my lesson by then) about some Blue Steel acoustic 11 strings that I couldn't find only to be rudely blown off again with him saying "it doesn't matter, just get those Martin 9's". Long story short, I went to Guitar Center because I thought it was a good place. I left with a used $178 Fender T Bucket and a $49 Squire strat. A couple hours later I left a different store with an order for an American Professional Stratocaster, a Hot Rod Deluxe lll amp, a great conversion with an employee and a devotion to them for all future purchases. This is probably the worst GC location that I've been to. All the sections are smaller and poorly stocked. I work at a church as the audio technician, and have to buy lots of music gear, so I was pretty pumped when w GC opened nearby. Then I actually went there. Most of the gear is entry level stuff, which is all well and good, but most other GC's have at least a decent selection of more "pro" gear. Also, the employees I've interacted with have been disappointingly unknowledgeable. If I come in saying that I'd like to look at a hand wired Vox AC30 guitar amp, and you don't have it...please don't lie to me and tell me that an AC15 that costs a quarter of the price is going to sound exactly the same. Also, I have a company card that I use to buy gear for the church, and it doesn't have my name on it, it has the name of the church. And they won't take it! I use it ALL the time at tons of other stores in the area and no one even mentions it. I've even used it at other guitar centers in the Atlanta area with no issues....but not this one. It's worth it to drive further to a different store, or just order online. read more

I went to this store a couple of weeks ago and had one of the worst Guitar Center experiences of my life. My ordeal started with me looking for an amp I had seen online. The store informed me that they had sold the amp already, even though it still showed online. I explained to them that I had driven a long way so they said they'd help me find another one. This consisted of opening up their site on a computer and walking away. From there I kept getting passed off to other associates. There was a general lack of basic customer service skills or maybe I wasn't spending enough money to be considered "important." The manager Matt Bullard was a bumbling idiot. I didn't realize that he was the second guy I had been passed off to when I finally asked for the store manager. There was a general indifference to me as a customer and I will never go back to this store. Thankfully after calling the customer service line I was contacted by the Marietta store with the same amp I originally wanted. The Marietta store manager was awesome and really helped me out. read more

Overall this location seems to have just a little less in each section compared to the other Guitar Centers. But that's not a big deal. It's some of the people who make this place crappy. You ever watch one of those movies where the new kid in high school tries to go up to the group of popular kids, and when he says something they just stare at him? That's kind of the vibe some of these guys have created, mainly hanging out around the guitar tech. You walk in and say "hi" or ask for something and they either ignore you or just take forever to finally get you to where you need to go. It seems like maybe they have their own tension/drama going on and that rubs off on the customers. And in just in case there are multiple guitar techs, it was the one with long blonde hair (Zack?) who seems to ignore people (I've seen him do this to other customers, not just myself). I have ran into a couple friendly cashiers who are down to answer questions, so it's not all bad. I've been playing forever and come across many prideful musicians in my day, so I could care less about these employees who think they're too cool to give good customer service. I just would hate to walk into this place as a young kid who just started playing guitar; I can only imagine how he/she would feel going here for the first time when certain people are on the clock. read more

This past weekend I took my daughter there and found a used kids guitar hanging in the wall for sale. We went to pay for it and the sales guy told me I wasn't allowed to buy it since it was being held for someone. The guitar was hanging on the wall with a price tag with nothing indicating it was being held. My 8 yr old daughter was crushed and started crying at the register. His solution was for me to buy a new one for more than double the price. I probably will but I will get it from Ken Stanton down the street. The whole things seemed pretty fishy, not sure if bait and switch is a approved sales technique there or is maybe they sales guy didn't think a guitar is appropriate for a 8 year old girl. I am in a couple bands so I am buying music gear quite a bit and in the future none of it will be from guitar center! read more

Used to be a spectacular place but not so much anymore. I've been playing guitar for a number of years and for the longest time the Guitar center in Gwinnett was the closest location. I was thrilled to discover that they were opening a new one much closer to me. I started going there a lot and really enjoyed the first few visits. Last few times I have been in I have experienced abysmal customer service. Like last time, I went in looking for a Gibson hollow body. This one employee (who's name I wished I remembered because he was the only nice guy in the store) found one all the way up top and without hesitation got up on a ladder and brought it down for me. He made friendly conversation and was a great worker but after a while, when I decided I would buy the guitar, he was nowhere to be found. The rest of the workers acted like I didn't exist. I also decided to try out a few pedals. One employee lazily sauntered over to me and I showed him which one I would like to demo. He pulled out the wrong pedal and when I pointed out that I actually wanted to demo a different one his response was "Sorry I can only take one out at a time." I mean seriously? I tried to explain once more what I was trying to demo but in the Middle of my sentence he just left. I was so mad I got up from the pedal demoing station and tried to find the gibson I originally wanted, only to find that it had been put back up high on the rack. After at least 10 minutes of nothing I flagged down an employee to see if he could get it for me and he just simply ignored me. There's no way this guy didn't know I was talking to him. I tried to find a manager to describe my experiences to but, shockingly, there was nobody to be found. I left empty handed and absolutely furious. If anyone who works at this Guitar Center location reads this, listen to me, y'all really need to step up the customer service and hire some people that actually enjoy what they do. read more

First, I downloaded yelp simply so I would be able to give these incompetent sluts the worst possible review I can. I bought two "new" pieces of shit hardware for Christmas, turns out both had been opened, one was missing the key software supposed to be included, the other didn't work at all. After exchanging both, I was left with two even "newer" pieces of shit hardware which had both been opened. Now my "new" headphones only release audio through the right ear and someone had already bought and returned the software with the other piece of hardware, used the serial number, and left me pants down, ass spread wide to be buttfucked by guitar center's bullshit.
