We went back and forth a couple times and she kinda said that they are booking out until April of next year and they just have a couple holes. I said I am off most Mondays and then she said the next available Monday isn't until January 15th--- as I am looking through my calendar I express I really was hoping for something before the end of the year. Before I could even finish to ask if they have a waitlist she informs me that I was due for my checkup in December of 2016 and I've waited awhile. Ok? Haha she said yup. You waited awhile. I have a 6 mo old and a 2 year old. Haha my teeth weren't my first priority. Just bad business etiquette. I was also calling to schedule my sons first (just turned 2 years old) apt... but wasn't even able to get to that point. Looks like my husband and I will be changing practices and my son will be getting established at a more friendly practice. Wasn't asking for the moon just some courtesy. I would like to add that the previous time I was there my dental hygienist was very nice and made me feel comfortable and did an awesome job!

They had me come in to see a hygienist. She didn't do much to figure out a solution to my problem, but she did feel I needed a cleaning. The dentist was quite a social butterfly and came over for a couple of minutes. He took a quick peek at my mouth, but didn't perform an extensive check-up even though I had complained about pain when biting down and I had a cracked tooth. They wrote down the teeth that I was having pain on, but one of those teeth was not even a problem. I allowed them to do the cleaning that day, but, apparently, they needed me to come in a second time to finish it. On my second visit, I saw a different hygienist. I explained to her what I had explained to the other and to the dentist, which was my main concern about the pain. After looking at my teeth and starting the 2nd cleaning process, she explained that I needed a bite guard because she felt that I was clenching or grinding my teeth. I disagreed because I did not do either. I explained that the pain was likely due to the fact that the tooth was cracked, which I had discovered from a dentist visit from a different office about 3 years ago and the x-rays they had taken also showed it. She acknowledged that the tooth was in fact cracked, but she did not back down about me needing the bite guard and kept trying to argue with me. When I tried to say something back, she told me to stop moving my mouth because she couldn't clean it. I finally got so upset that I told her to just finish my cleaning because the conversation was over. At the end, we both apologized for getting upset. Surprisingly, she actually wrote down the correct tooth that was ailing me. She felt that a crown/cap would resolve the cracked tooth issue, so I scheduled another appointment. The only available time was 3 months down the road. During that time, I had to continue suffering with the severe pain. The day before, my visit to get my teeth molded for the crown/cap I called them to confirm that they were also going to do a root canal. They explained that they don't do root canals. I was shocked and concerned because the likelihood of an infection was high and the issue with the pain would not be addressed, which was the MAIN REASON I had come to them and I was doing this procedure. They asked me to come in anyways just so the dentist could look at my mouth. NOW, he decided to really look at it. I came in and he sat down and checked it extensively; however, he concluded that I merely needed a bite guard. I was very upset and let him know I would not be getting a bite guard, but rather, I would be getting a second opinion from a different dentist. That weekend I received a letter in the mail that they could no longer provide me service. I immediately called another dentist office and made an appointment. They tried to get my records, but because Mr. Corradini's office still only uses hard copy x-rays, rather than digital, they could not get me my records in time for my next visit. They said I would need to pick them up in person. Again, I had to try to take time off of work to do this. I was finally able to arrange a time to pick-up my records the day before my appointment with my new dentist. I spoke to their receptionist in the afternoon and she said they were ready. They were supposed to be ready that morning, but were not. I told her I would be leaving work early and driving from my workplace, which was an hour away to pick them up. I confirmed their operating hours. She said they closed at 5 PM. I assured her I would be there before 5 PM. I drove like a madman to get to their office and arrived at 4:50 PM, but there was nobody there. The office was closed and no vehicles in site. I was livid! When I spoke to their manager about what happened, she apologized, but in her voice I could tell she could care less and just wanted to get me off the phone. I was always kind and VERY patient with them, but they have only taken advantage of my kindness. I am writing this in hopes that others will read it and avoid the same heartache. Unless they change, they don't deserve your business.

Frankly I no longer trust them! Going to get another opinion as with as much money as I've spent to keep things healthy, the cost shouldn't be more over time but less if their in fact improving your overall dental health. Your priorities seem to be profits over the actual patient need and their ability to afford the care even with insurance. Shameful!!! I'm over this place! Get a second opinion as I suspect things are not as they would like you to believe. Places is shady!

Before choosing this office, I encourage anyone considering Robinson Dental to read reviews for all of their locations. You'll notice recurring concerns from patients regarding communication, patient treatment, billing issues, and a lack of accountability when problems arise. Unfortunately, our experience reflected many of those same concerns. After a very patience and long few years, we have decided it's time to find a dental practice that values its patients. The biggest issue throughout treatment was communication. During appointments, Dr. Young often made appointments feel rushed, concerns were frequently brushed aside, and conversations often came across as dismissive or accusatory instead of informative. There were multiple occasions where treatment instructions changed without explanation. My Partner was repeatedly told to switch Invisalign trays after one week, only to arrive at a later appointment and be criticized for not wearing them for two weeks. Other times, the opposite happened. Rather than acknowledging that the instructions had changed, she was made to feel as though she had done something wrong. Before a planned vacation, she specifically asked if she could wear one set of trays an extra week while she was out of state. Doctor Young approved the request. However, when she returned, she was reprimanded for being behind in her treatment because he had forgotten approving the extension. Treatment was paused during my partner's pregnancy because complications made it impossible to wear the trays without becoming nauseous. This was discussed and approved. Within two weeks of giving birth, she scheduled an appointment and completed a rescan so treatment could continue. Even though returning at her earliest convenience after recovering from giving birth she was criticized for not returning sooner by Dr. Young. In addition we were told the replacement trays were urgent, yet they took approximately a month to arrive at the office. We only found out they had arrived because we called to check ourselves. Even after they arrived, the fitting appointment was scheduled weeks later despite previously being described as urgent. Similar delays happened more than once throughout treatment. There were occasions where tooth attachments fell off and were reported to Dr. Young. We were told everything would be fine and no action was necessary. Later, when the trays again failed to track correctly, additional rescans became necessary. The billing process was equally frustrating. We were repeatedly told the account balance was up to date and that everything was "good." When our insurance temporarily stopped paying the estimated amount, we were instructed not to make payments while the office waited for the insurance company. At a later appointment, we were unexpectedly told there was now a late fee because the balance had not been paid--even though we had followed the office's instructions. Scheduling problems became another recurring issue. On one occasion, we confirmed a Tuesday appointment the previous Thursday, only to arrive and discover it had been canceled without any notification. Rather than attempting to correct the mistake or fit us into the schedule, the office simply offered another appointment over a month later. There were also multiple occasions where appointments were booked before leaving the office, only for us to arrive later and be told no appointment had actually been entered into the system. Again, there was little effort to accommodate us that day despite the error originating from the office. Everyone can have an occasional bad day or make a mistake. But repeated pattern mishaps over the course of treatment and after investing significant time and money into treatment, we no longer had confidence that Robinson Dental is a good place to be.

We made an appointment for the next Tuesday leaving five days to wait for some relief. So I showed up on Tuesday and they diagnosed an infected tooth that would have to be pulled, but didn't have time to deal with it right then. They loaded me up with oxycontin and antibiotics, then sent me on my way, still dealing with the torturous pain. And there were no appointments available until the NEXT Tuesday. Next Tuesday finally came, and they called to reschedule the appointment again! Now it's Friday late afternoon, and they just called to tell me that the dentist had to go to the emergency room, I'm on my own, back at square one. It's Friday, everybody else is closed until Monday! And the cost of the office appointment is down the drain. I'm sorry that the dentist had to go to the emergency room, and hope that everything comes out OK for him. But surely the staff there knew they wouldn't be able to accommodate their patients. Couldn't somebody at Otsego Family Dentistry have mercy and let me know earlier? I think one star is overly generous.
