Wow! The absolute best pizza in Texas that I've had in my 12 years of living here! I moved to Austin from NY and If you like a NY style crust with the finest quality ingredients , than just like me, this is your place! The dough is thin with the perfect amount of chew to the crust . Even though these pies are all 12" personal sized , the pieces still fold like A Slice from NYC. The sauce is delicious , toppings are limited but amazing quality ! We had the pepperoni and sausage and the white pie and both were just incredible. The chef/owner is clearly passionate about what he creates and his Wife handles the front of the house friendly and poised. The Family that owns this place are just super cool. All In all Sylvia Pizza has really Great service , cool LA vibes with great NY Pizza. My only wish is that they made larger pizzas too! I highly recommend this place! I wanted something new so I tried Sylvia's. I ordered from the grocery store parking lot since it was so close. I wanted to choose my own toppings and assumed cheese would be on it so I didn't choose cheese. They sent a text asking me to confirm that I did not want cheese on my pizza. I didn't see the text because I was driving there, but when I arrived they had not made it yet, since I didn't respond. That really impressed me. That was great customer service! It's a small place back in a corner, so I see how I missed it before. While I waited they let me sample a small cone of their homemade ice cream. It was chocolate cinnamon. It was not bad, but not something that I would have put together. The ice cream was creamy and it they had another flavor I would have bought some! I ordered a small pepperoni, with onions and peppers. They don't use green peppers but they had red and yellow. It was delicious. Right out of the gate, delightful. Called in an order 8pm and the employee on the phone was friendly and funny. Their time estimate was correct and pickup went smoothly. Spent $30 on two vegetarian 12" pizzas and a further $8 on nonalcoholic drinks. We finished all but one piece of pizza which was a great breakfast, and it's easy to put away because the toppings were simple but pleasing and good quality. I'm not beholden to any one style of pizza, and want to say the thin crust here is outstanding. Delicate, chewy, airy, not overly filling. The pizza is excellent and made with care. 35 minutes from order to the kitchen window for you to nab yourself. They have a nice selection of different drinks and a few beers and wines. The staff was incredibly friendly and apologetic for the wait, but it seemed to be the norm to wait so long. Treat yourself to the churro ice cream. It is delish. I might order ahead next time and skip waiting in the restaurant. Decided to get pizza and I'm trying to stay mostly vegetarian -- thanks, gout -- and my spouse said we'd get pizza from Sylvia. We got two twelve-inch pizzas, a Neddy Veggie, and a Cheesy Dream. The former is a mushroom, bell pepper, red sauce, and basil pizza, the latter, essentially a white pizza margherita, namely, alfredo sauce, cheese, and basil. The Cheesy dream was great because there wasn't too much alfredo, and it went just right with the cheese and basil. The Neddy Veggie was great because it was not overly cheesy, but had plenty of mushrooms and bell peppers. But the star of Sylvia is the crust. Thin and hand stretched, the crust is chewy at the edges and just right. Seriously, this is now in my top ten pizza crusts of all time. I could eat the crust itself as a meal. The pizzas were delicious. But not only were the pizzas great, but when we called in the to-go order, the kitchen staff got the time that it would be ready down nearly to the minute. The staff were all quite friendly, and one person addressed me by name that he remembered from it getting called in. We attended a high school graduation and wanted to eat a late lunch ( or early dinner) before driving home for 90 minutes! Found this pizza place on Yelp. The pizza is 12 inch pie for individual serving. I choose the Cheesy Dream. It was surprisingly delicious! It's a very thin pizza but the crust had the perfect combination of soft inside and a crusty crust! The service is self - serve. It's a college town - San Marcos! Full service is not needed. The restaurant is not big - it's tastefully decorated - unexpected in a college town. We would love to come back to this place. Their churro flavored ice cream was smooth and delicious! We tried this hidden gem for the first time last night. They are nestled in the back of a shopping center in downtown San Marcos. The decorations are modern and fun. The kitchen is open so that you can see them preparing the food. All pizzas are personal sized. We ordered a Nedy vegetarian and a pepperoni. The pizzas were ready in about 25 minutes and were delicious. Very thin crust with fresh toppings. For dessert we had the churro ice cream which was perfect to soothe our sweet tooths. read more

Found this pizza place that just opened up with my roommate and we decided to try it out! I will say that the quality is great, but I do think it is on the expensive side being in a college town and for small portions. Pepperoni Sausage Pizza - The pepperoni was great on the pizza, but the sausage they used seemed a little random. It wasn't really staying on the pizza (because it was round). The crust was great though! It was thin and the crust was crispy! Churro Ice Cream - Delicious! I loved the flavor of this. The server talked about how it is made in-house. After three stops here, at least a few months apart each time, I'm recognized by the owner and the pizza makers. I've had each pizza on the menu besides the combo, and each one is just as AMAZING, if not better, than the last one I tried. I had the vegetarian pizza when Sylvia's Pizza did their pop-ups in California, and it was honestly one of the best pizzas I've ever had! The bread is so soft, the ingredients are always fresh, and you can really taste the care that goes into each bite. Me and my girlfriend have been twice and plan on being regulars! Owner was super attentive and welcoming, even the cooks who hand you your food were super nice. I'm a pizza fiend (and also a little bit of a pizza snob). I grew up in Los Angeles and there are so many great pizza joints there. I moved to Louisiana in 2020 and then to San Marcos this summer. When I saw that these guys were from L.A. and just opened up shop here a few weeks ago? I had to go check them out. I have found my new GO TO pizza joint in the area. Loved every single bite. The crust had the right amount of doughiness to it, the sauce was perfection and the pepperoni and sausage were . The building is nicely redone with cute art on the walls. The simple menu consists of pizza, ice cream, and banana pudding. The star here is the crust, crispy on the outside and chewy in the middle. The pizza oven got a nice char on the bottom. The pizzas are 12 inches, so you need one per person. I haven't found this style anywhere else in San Marcos, and I'm happy to have it around. Service was pretty fast. The Ube Oreo Banana pudding was incredible. It was a bit steep at $7 per serving, but it was worth it. It's like a dirt cup and banana pudding had a baby. This is a pretty solid pizza place. The owner is very nice and he def knows how to make good pizza. The ingredients taste super fresh. The dough is made in-house and left to prove for 3 days. It's really a perfect pizza dough--soft and slightly chewy with a nice flavor. The sauce and cheese were also delicious. Also, the cinnamon soft serve ice cream is amazing--don't skip out on it! I do wish they sold beer/wine or allowed for byob. Adding some salads to the menu would also be a nice bonus, but overall, we had a great experience! Tried Sylvia's for the first time today and it was amazing!!! Had "The Queen", which is their version of a Margherita pizza, although I got pepperoni added. *Amazing* dough, flavor was great (I might have them toss mine in for just a little while longer next time just cause I like it a little charred, but that's a personal preference!) The San Marcos pizza battle is currently underway, and i'm here for all for it. Currently, and looking only at the 3 pizza spots on the square; Valentinos, Gumbys, and now Sylvia. Sylvia is a strong front runner, where they stand alone with their made-to-order, personal 12", homemade neopalotian pizzas. Everything they make is fresh and done in-house. It's one of those things you notice as soon as you bring your pie to your table. We were greeted with this amazing, no flop, light, fluffy, favorable pizza that was just as refreshing the first bite as it was the last. Since they are the new boys, they do not have their liquor license yet, but they still have all your typic drinks. I'm not too sure if they are BYOB, but I'm sure we can find out. They went with a nice white and blue color scheme that juat reminds me of comfort. Inside is clean and has a wall of prints which provides some good visual eye candy while you eat. Their is an upstairs loft style that, I guess, they use for seeting overflow. There is a covered courtyard that is attracted to their building. I didn't see anyone sitting outside, but I'm assuming you could once it gets cooler. While the pizza is reason enough to pay a second visit to what is really going to be the way to get the wife to go is reminding her about how amazing their, once again, homemade churro ice cream. Food, service, and ambiance, eh? Well, ambiance being the least of my concerns, and the ambiance being lovely, I give them a point for ambiance. However, food & service being most important to me, I cannot give any points for these. Service doesn't seem to even exist here. One walks through the little cafe to an order taker, who takes your order & your payment. Then one waits with the little electronic notice pad until the signal comes. I assume one then picks up their pizza at the window when called, but we didn't make it that far. We were warned that we had to wait 30 minutes, and we agreed, and we enjoyed sitting at the table in the nice atrium in back. We waited 30 minutes, then more, until we went to check. They hadn't even started our pizza - according to the pizzaiola, because of "a large party ahead of us" (WE were ahead of THEM) & some online orders. It was obvious that the guy had zero customer service skills & possibly no business acumen whatsoever, as he immediately dismissed us & our concerns, told us to take a refund & "take your business elsewhere." Most people, perhaps, can't see through his ruse, but I was a restaurant worker & manager for about the first half of my adult life - his lack of humility & empathy was striking. His place is obviously in the kitchen, where customers can be shielded from him, but they need someone to take charge of the place & operate it correctly. The order taker was actually quite friendly & charismatic, and could conceivably run this place, but I doubt that guy would follow her lead. Pizza crust is thin and can easily be folded in half, with a crispy, fluffy crust, flavorful sauce and yummy pepperoni cups. Tasted the homemade cinnamon ice cream and it was great as well.
