My colleague threw a party for his newborn here, and I was invited to join in the celebration! I got there around the expected start time of 6pm, though most guests actually showed up around 7pm. Something about inviting people to show up an hour before the real start time. The banquet hall was simple, yet beautifully designed. White and pink balloons were added to the main stage, while the far corner had a DJ set with lighting in place for the dance floor. There was a large variety of appetizers that I tried for the first time which included chikufte, sarma, and ikra. For imbibing, there was a bottle of cognac, vodka, and tarkhuna. Entrees included a bread bowl filled with veal (wish I caught the name) and a platter of lamb, chicken, and pork. Both were delicious and although our table was absolutely stuffed, they still had more entrees to bring out! Could barely muster a bite of the rice dish that came out after. In between the eating was lots of dancing with the DJ pumping bangers so loud, I was wondering if the baby felt sensory overload. A vibrant and energetic party was had. read more

We celebrated our daughter's welcome baby event here, and I am very impressed by this place! It's very modest and cozy restaurant not for big events. To say the food was amazing would mean nothing to say. Have been to a lot of different Armenian restaurants ( in Armenia as well) but Gumri's cuisine was just great with having 5 hot meals, and a variety of salads, appetizers... Our guests were not even able to finish one dish, when the other one would come. At the end of the event, they packed all the dishes very nicely, so we could take to home, and it seemed like we just ordered a food, as those were not the leftovers of table. Service of two Russian-speaking ladies were great as well- very patiently, very friendly! Not to mention the owner Mike , who is also the one cooking all these delicious meals. 100000% would recommend this place for hosting your events. Don't look at the outer part of the restaurant, just go in and reserve your day! You will never regret. Yesterday I was at this place, nice little cozy family oriented banquet hall. Food is very fresh and delicious. It's perfect up to 100 -130 people to feel comfortable sitting , walking and dancing. Nice decorated and you can always add your own theme touch up. I can't start to tell you how much I liked the food. We ordered most of the items on the menu for the office and everyone enjoyed the food. Amazing place! Our family always does New Years super big, which is fun but also requires 2-3 days of cooking. This year was absolutely different! No stress just party! I was here for a small event in the afternoon. The location of the place is not the ideal if you are having a big party because there wasn't enough room for parking. I had to park on the street. Inside of the hall had a surprisingly nice decor. The restrooms were small and there wasn't enough room for more than 2 people. I had only the vegetarian options for food and some of the salads were not fresh. The special rice with garbanzo beans was really good and the potatoes were delicious. We had a wedding shower for our daughter in August, 4 of this 2019 year and ordered a catering for around 50 people, different nationalities and ages. We drove to this restaurant ourselves as we live pretty far from that area, in Diamond Bar. The amount of food and its variety literally shocked us! But what's more amazing was the taste! Nothing was over spiced or dry, all salads were fresh as the kitchen workers started at 4 am and by 11 am there was a ton of food, all shish kababs were hot, just from the fire! When we delivered a whole car, full of wrapped dishes, our party was literally stunned, seeing that feast! We had such a good time with such tasty food and drinks, that our guests just did not want to leave if only we would be allowed to stay longer at the rented ball room at Diamond Bar Center!!! To finish my review I would like to say: after that wedding shower we had a Civil Ceremony in San Diego and an evening dinner in local restaurant there but nothing could be compared even close to that food from GUMRI Shish Kabab. Nothing! Our special Thank you to the owner Michael who took care of our catering, all the women who were cooking that ton of food, and one more Thank you to one unknown woman in the House of Bread, next to this restaurant, who game me couple dollars when we were buying bread(lavash) for our party as I was short on cash!
