Today I visited this establishment. I went around lunchtime on Sunday Memorial Day weekend. There was only one customer in the restaurant. I ordered a chicken Shawarma wrap 12 inch with a side of french fries. I thought the price wasn't too bad. The chicken Shawarma wrap was a little bit dry and the french fries were a little bit bland. Parking was easy on the street in front. The gentleman who helped us had decent customer service. read more

The shawarma here is pretty good and worth a try, however the service leaves a lot to be desired. Both times I have stopped here to try the shawarma(once for the beef and the other for the chicken) the attitude I have received from the staff has been as if I've ruined their entire day by wanting to give them money. It was additionally off putting to see the note on their online menu about the Fries. I get if a place wants to be fully authentic. I respect that. But to give in and add one item to the menu as a side and be passive aggressive about it, combined with their in person attitude just makes this a place I know I will NEVER re-visit. I like their food but it's hard to enjoy good food when the people giving it to you act as if you are wasting their time wanting to give them money. read more

Second time here because the first time we came, the restaurant posted an 11 am opening and they weren't even ready to serve food when we arrived after 11:00 am so we left. Our thought was to give it another shot and came later in the afternoon. Big mistake. We should've learned our lesson the first time. What's our thought? This place is a hard no. Walking in the second time and the first thing we experienced was the cashier had a resting you know what face and the shop wasn't even busy. Why is she so angry and bitter? I told the lady it was our first time in here and asked her if it was just chicken and beef to get her recommendation and she just rolled her eyes at me. Surprised by her reaction, I played it cool and continued to order 12" Chicken Wrap and 12" Beef Wrap. Once I ordered, we paid, was given a receipt and there was not a thank you to be heard - just silence. We walked to an open table and sat quietly as we waited for our food. In total, it was about a 15 minute wait. Sitting down, I forgot to get extra garlic sauce and pomegranate molasses so I waited until the food was ready to ask if they can put some in the bag. I asked the lady for the two condiments and she said the wraps don't come with any sauce and it'll be a dollar each. A dollar each?! Did you see the container of pomegranate molasses that I shared on Yelp? It's tiny! Either way, I ordered and paid since my wife requested it. Once we got home, the family sat down and tried the food. We bit into it without the additional condiments and with the condiments. The pomegranate molasses was really sour with a hint of sweetness and the garlic sauce just has a mild garlic flavor. Definitely not what our family is used to as we usually like the intense garlic flavor so this was a miss. The beef in the wrap was on the drier side and so was the chicken. Portions are small too for the price. Think two Taco Bell sized bean and cheese burritos for the 12" wraps. Was the food good? It was ok. Mind blowing? No. Would I come back? This is our second time here. The two of us split a 24-in falafel plate made up of both beef and chicken. Both the beef and chicken were very good. The chicken was surprisingly tender and tasty. We enjoyed the french fries a lot. This is a small place with a friendly staff. The place is very clean, and we were relaxed. They do not provide tap water if you want it, so you need to purchase a drink. Not the worst, but I really prefer just water with a meal. We will definitely come again. read more

THIS PLACE IS PHENOMENAL. As a shawarma fan/lover, this is defenitly one of the best spots to grab in Los Angeles. I've gone to now the Hollywood and Sherman Oaks Lovations and they are both AMAZING. Picked up a chicken shawarma wrap up for lunch at this location and the service here was incredible. Servers were friendly and helpful. Once we ordered, our foot was out in 5 minutes? It was super fast and we appreciated that. For $20 bucks I got the small wrap, a drink, and a hummus and baklava so the prices are really good too. The chicken wrap was the star of the lunch. Great portion considering the price and SO FLAVORFUL. The garlic sauce was also a great addition to the wrap. Overall I will defenitly be back very soon. Make sure to check them out if your in the area, you defenitly won't regret it. read more

I was looking forward to trying a wrap, as it made an Instagram influencer's list of best LA wraps. Unfortunately I was disappointed from the tepid service to the food. The 6" chicken wrap is filling and the garlic paste great though unevenly spread. Some chicken pieces were too dry. One piece was so hard at first I mistook it for bone. The pickles were also sparse but gave much needed acid to counter the heavy garlic sauce. Something else like cucumbers, tomatoes or onions to also lighten the filling would balance the overall taste. The place is clean and the prices good. A 6" chicken wrap is $8.99 and the beef one a dollar more. Maybe a beef wrap is the better tasting choice? There's also a sizeable outdoor eating area. Also note: you might want to bring cash as there's a 3 or 4% surcharge for card payments. This place has great ratings with late hours but I don't see myself returning. read more

The customer service is straight forward, you order & wait for your order. This shawarma wrap was so good! It tasted fresh (as you can see the marinated chicken being grilled & cut) & it had a little crunch to it from the grill. A solid spot for cheaper Syrian food and large portions! Firstly, I got the chicken plate and it was pretty good. It came with a 12 inch chicken shawarma wrap cut up which made it easier to eat along with fries, picked veggies, and garlic sauce. The wrap was pretty good and flavorful. The sides also complimented it well. I also got a lamb/beef shawarma wrap to-go which was also great. Despite it being a day old, the meat was pretty tender and I liked the flavor. I'm usually a burger , fries, tacos person and I'm a LA native too but something about this place and their chicken option actually being better than beef and it's cheaper is just so good. I've had this place to eat 4 times now in the span of 2 weeks cause the garlic sauce the wrap is all just sooo good together. Staff can be whatever but they do a damn good job of delivering the authentic version of shawarma to you in LA. If you still want French fries as an option while having middle eastern food. Order this place , even if it's kinda pricey for the plates! read more

We've been meaning to try Sincerely Syria for a while now. It kept showing up on our Tiktok feed, and every video made the shawarma look better than the last. And lately we've been craving shawarma so this was a good excuse for us to make the trip to Sherman Oaks.. Syrian shawarma has always been my favorite. If I'm craving shawarma, that's the style I want, and this place really did it justice. We ordered the 6-inch beef and lamb wrap and the 12-inch chicken wrap, with a side of pomegranate molasses and some sweet chili sauce. The chicken was juicy and full of citrus, not overpowering but just enough to brighten every bite. The flavor doesn't feel like it's been watered down for a bland palate. The beef and lamb were rich and tender, and the tahini was surprisingly light. It's fluffy and forward without being too thick, and it mixed perfectly with the pomegranate molasses. It gave the wrap a little sweetness and depth without taking over. Everything about it brought out the flavor of the meat. This place lived up to the hype. I'd come back in a heartbeat, and if you love Syrian-style shawarma, you'll probably walk out thinking about your next visit. read more

To be honest, the food is tasty. However, the service is very poor; the cashier is unprofessional and struggles to communicate with customers. Usually, when you go somewhere, the staff serves you very politely and warmly, but here, as a customer, you are the one trying to initiate communication with the cashier. Because of that, the atmosphere there isn't exactly great for women. read more

Let me just say.. this food is hands down the best I've had in a very long time.. although their menu boards were not working they did have a QR code to scan. I did my research beforehand. It's a small ran business. Same person taking the orders was making the food.. he was very pleasant and greeted me with a smile. I wasn't in a hurry so I soaked up the outside air sitting on the patio.. there are plenty of seating inside and out. No frills kinda place, you're definitely going for the food. I ordered a mixed 24" plate $30.. lots of food! Could probably share with 3 people but it's just me so, I'll be enjoying the leftovers. Go in and let the food speak for itself. read more

This spot is so unassuming! Given its location, I expected the food to be pretty commercial--bland and catered to an "American" palate--but wow, was I wrong! The flavors here are incredible and authentic too! Everything was well-seasoned, and the chicken was perfectly juicy. Inspired by a recent LA Times feature on restaurants in the San Fernando Valley, I did a mini food crawl on a Sunday afternoon. Sincerely Syria was my first stop, and I had a great lunch. There was no line when I entered, and I ordered a 6-inch chicken wrap (with one layer of pita per the newspaper feature's recommendation). There was both indoor and outdoor seating, and there was ample seating inside. The highlight of the meal was the substantial amount of toum included in the wrap; I'm a big garlic fan, and the thinly-sliced chicken combined with the sauce was a hit! Adding fries would have made this a more substantial meal, but otherwise this was a great first visit. read more

I ordered through DoorDash and the chicken was completely unacceptable. It had a strong rotten smell and was full of thick skin, fat, and connective tissue that should never be served. The food was inedible and concerning from a food-safety standpoint, and I had to throw it away. This wasn't a minor quality issue -- it was clearly poor handling or poor-quality meat. Coming in at #82 on the 2024 LA Times 101 Best Restaurants list, Sincerely Syria is a restaurant I used to live very close to, but never managed to stop in at. Located on Ventura Blvd in Sherman Oaks, the area is relatively busy with a lot to do/see both before and after your meal. To eat, the two of us split a 12" plate of the chicken and a 12" wrap of the beef. I ended up enjoying the chicken more than the beef, though both had a little too much sauce for my liking. Priced at ~$15, the value is decent, though I didn't feel like they were particularly generous with the meat portions (especially with the beef wrap). The chicken seemed to have significantly more substance, which is perhaps why I enjoyed it more. Needless to say, I left full and satisfied. The cashier needs to be nicer! We were traveling and, during a break on the road, we stopped by Sincerely Syria based on a previous good experience at their Hollywood location. According to their hours, they open at 11:00 AM, but when we arrived at 11:20, the lady at the cashier told us we had to wait another 20 minutes before they could take the first order--without any apology or explanation. We left and came back later, but the way the cashier handled orders made us feel uncomfortable, as if we were doing something wrong. I understand everyone has their circumstances, but a simple smile costs nothing. If I were alone, I would have left and not ordered at all, but since I was with my family and they wanted to eat, I stayed. On a positive note, the chef was very kind, respectful, and clearly passionate about his work. I drove from Northridge and tried calling 3 times on my way to place an order ahead, but no one answered. When I arrived, I noticed the phone ringing while the staff member was in the back not responding. I placed a $200+ order and politely asked for the sauce on the side for 3 of my sandwiches only. When I confirmed with her at pickup, she told me it's an extra charge, but the tone and attitude came off very rude and dismissive. It really put a damper on the experience. It's not a good sign when you stop by on a Friday at lunch hour and you're the only customer there, with maybe 1 or 2 delivery drivers picking up food in the 30-40 minutes you stayed. Service could be better. The cashier wasn't very friendly when I ordered, for whatever reason, then became friendly when I picked up my food from him. I ordered the 12" beef/lamb wrap. It's a hefty wrap and they definitely fill it with a good amount of meat and just enough veggies/sauce to not over power the flavor. The meat was a bit dry and not that warm. Good amount of tahina. But my favorite and one of the best parts was the grilled wrap after it was made. That added nice texture and heat. I won't mind giving them another chance but I definitely hope for more read more

Ordered a shawarma that came out burned on one side (completely black). I had to cut a large portion off just to eat it. When I went back, they did give me a refund, which I appreciate. But the interaction was off -- I was told they had cameras to check if I ate it, which felt unnecessary and unprofessional. Mistakes happen, but how you handle them matters just as much. read more

One of the best Beef Shawarmas in San Fernando Valley. I ordered a 12-inch shawarma plate, which comes with the shawarma wrap tightly wrapped in their thin, grilled tortilla-style bread. They cut it into 8 pieces, so it's very convenient to enjoy. The shawarma meat is very tender, juicy and well marinated. Within the wrap, it's paired well with a tomato, parsely and onion and drizzled a bit with tahini sauce. Each bite is just perfect. The wrap is accompanied by freshly fried fries and their tasty pickles. Definitely a winner! The customer service is very friendly and they advise you on what you should try. The ambiance is casual, the design is modern-ish, with some wood elements and art as the wall decor. Pretty spacious, with a bunch of tables on the outside and a few on the patio, for the Ventura blvd people-watch. Sincerely Syria, you've done it well! I've been looking in many different Shawarma places for that authentic Syrian flavor and I couldn't find it anywhere except here. It's insane. Every bite took me back to Syria, to Mazza, to Zabadani, to Maliki... I asked the lovely lady there, Rabiah, to make it extra crispy, like how it is in Syria and she was more than happy to do so. And it didn't disappoint! She is so wonderful her Smile and energy adds such a wonderful ambience to the location. This is definitely my favorite shawarma location ever. Hooooooly Shawarma it was sooooo yummy. The beef was definitely our favorite. The chicken was really good too, but the beef was just incredible. The hummus was okay. Not bad, but nothing special. And the pita bread they included with it was cold, not warm and fresh. Maybe there are other items on the menu that justify the five star reviews. But the felafel and hummus certainly do not, and I'm not sure I'd want to experiment further.

Server asked how we wanted the handrolls. Spicy or no spicy? Japanese paper, Korean paper, or soy? He recommended Korean paper for most of the rolls, soy paper for baked crab, and spicy for all. We got the 6 set $30, plus baked crab $7.50, spicy shrimp and snow crab $8.50. Then at the end we added the unagi $8.50. Handrolls came out two at a time. They were pretty good, though not amazing. Korean paper was light and crispy, but it would've been nice to try the Japanese paper. I don't remember the spicy shrimp and snow crab at all so they probably minced it :( Note: you could customize each roll based on type of paper, spicy or not. We weren't given that option probably for sake of efficiency. They have two individual bathrooms with community sink. Automatic faucet.
