Usually these places don't want the likes of me at a table ruining the ambience. The management (Katie) at the Capital Grille genuinely treated me like a guest. If the Capital Grille in Burbank treats the lowly AV guy as a guest imagine how well you will be treated in this establishment. I'm continually surprised by the pretentious attitude of restaurants. This is not the case with the Capital Grille in Burbank. They genuinely have a sincere concern to ensure every person that walks through the door has a wonderful experience.

Sat at the bar and we were greeted immediately and provided water. After a quick glance at the menu, started off with cocktails. The Mai Tai want your classic Mai Tai, and the better said they were missing an ingredient, so he did a twist on the Mai Tai. It was ok, felt it was missing a needed flavor element though. The passion fruit mojito was pretty tasty though, definitely had that mojito taste with a little passion fruit pop. For food we started with two grilled oysters and the lobster and crab cake. The grilled oysters were delicious, but how do you go wrong with anple cheese and bread crumbs texture on an oyster? The lobster and crab cake was also great, plenty of crab and lobster meat within. Exactly what you would want in this dish. For entrees we went with the dry aged New York strip and, they had a special wagyu Burger with blue cheese and truffle. The strip was aged for 18-24 days, cooked perfectly and was so tender. Just a bite you want to enjoy each time. The burger was also delicious with the truffle mixed with the blue cheese and caramelized onions. You get a little of everything in each bite, just makes your mouth happy. Overall, nice steakhouse spot in Burbank that is well with the trip. That burger was phenomenal, as was the NY strip, and that lobster and crab cake along with the oysters, delicious. The Mai Tai could be improved but they did what they could with the ingredients on hand, so that's my fault for choosing something they didn't have everything for. Definitely a nice gem in Burbank so, if you're in the area, and are hungry, go stop by and enjoy what they have to offer in an upscale space.

This place came up several times when I researched on great restaurants that have excellent vibes…read moreand great food. Although it didn't really necessarily show up as "the best food in LA area" but all the reviews were so good so I became curious to try. Mainly the reviews also raved about the vibes, services, and live music. Well, they were not wrong! It was fairly easy to make a reservation through Opentable, and I made a reservation for two people for my birthday dinner on Sunday night. I put on the notes that it's my bday so it'll be nice to get a nice table near the stage. I didn't have a high expectation, cos I'd never been to the place and I didn't make a call or anything. But wow, they definitely gave us a great table at the very front! As many reviewers had mentioned, the acoustic of the restaurant is really great. You can barely hear other people's conversations. There's a live jazz band playing, so you can really enjoy that. Although it made it slightly hard to hear what other nearby people say to you either, haha. Our server Dawson was a really great one! Very nice, very informative and just has a great vibe that made you feel comfortable to converse with him. We also asked if he could take a picture of us and he went above and beyond with taking our pictures haha. He took the table lamp as our additional "lighting". Such a great service! Dawson also made a few suggestions on food. We ordered the milk bun (so great!), the tiger prawns tostada (omg, my favorite of the night!), braised lamb pasta, pork belly risotto, and roasted broccolini. Everything was really good and really filled us up! We also got the "smokin old fashioned" and "Wake up and repeat" cocktails. It was plenty of food for us so we asked for a check. Dawson asked if we wanted a dessert but we were already full. He asked if it's ok to give us a lil treat for my bday. It was a really nice dessert :). Oh I forgot to mention that they also put a small bday card on the table for me. The prices of food and drinks are on the higher sides, but I feel like it's worth it due to the live music and the vibe. It easily covers the entertainment part. We definitely will go back and recommend this place for anyone who's looking into a nice date night or to celebrate something special. I was informed that Friday has more of a "party vibe" here, although it's still a jazz performance. Sunday feels more laid back :) Overall I'm really pleased by this place. I used to think that I don't care that much about excellent service as long as the food is great, but I was wrong. The excellent hospitality just made the night even better than expected. Thank you for making my bday dinner memorable.

The usually have a live band after 7pm and the sound in the resturant is amazing. It's like a recording studio. The staff was very friendly! The decor and ambiance was also impressive. Definitely swanky but down to earth vibes. I got the rasberry beret cocktail and it was different but fabulous. Not sure how else to describe it. It was refreshing. We got the tiger prawns and it was presented as a toasta, which had a great flavor and texture. The apple salad was also refreshing and a good portion to share between 2 people. The broccolini was cooked perfectly and my favorite after the tiger prawns was the Dungeness crab pasta. It had uni on top! The uni elevated the dish, and honestly there were a good amount of crab meat in the dish. Overall well balanced and creamy. The 2 of us left full and satisfied. Highly recommend this place for a date night. There's also plenty of street parking when we went but there is also valet for $15.

The Yelp profile says they have a parking lot but we could not find it. Metered parking which is hard to come by given the many restaurants in this area. The streets are quite and nice and walkable though and you see many people strolling along or walking their dogs, even in the evening. Venue 4 stars: Nicely decorated rustic venue. Indoor and outdoor seating. The inside however was uncomfortably cold when we visited (while outdoors was probably 80-85 degrees). Service 4 stars: Staff were friendly, polite, courteous and attentive. Food 3.5 stars: Primarily Argentinean food, including soups, appetizers, steaks, fish, chicken and pasta. We had the Tuna Tartare (Tartar de Atun, very good), Chicken Milanesa Napolitana (unfortunately very dry and tough), Salmon Con Tapenade (it had potential but ours was dry and overcooked), and Lomo a la Gorgonzola (beef tenderloin with Gorgonzola sauce; this one was very good!). I would highly recommend the Tuna Tartare and the Lomo a la Gorgonzola, but the Milanesa Napolitana and the Salmon Con Tapenade fell far short of our expectations. Drinks 3.5 stars: Beer (bottle and draft), wine, soft drinks, coffee and tea. No cocktails.

We've heard so much about the restaurant. Walking in you just go back in time. It has a great vibe. Imagine all the famous people that have passed through those doors. At some point we will try the bar area. Upon sitting at our half circle booth we had the honor of having George come by our table to bring water. We introduced ourselves and we had so many questions since I've been our first time there. As we got to talk to him we found out he's been at the restaurant for 27 years. Fernando was our waiter and he's been there for 41 years. That definitely says a lot about a restaurant when the employees stay for that many years. I opted to have the fish and chips and my husband had the lunch special, one of the lunch specials offered. He had pork chops with the rosemary mashed potatoes, they were delicious. It was a good sized portion. All the food is there. We can't wait to go back! Looking forward to going back for lunch one of these days soon during the week they have different lunch special. Parking was without stress, it is behind the building and with validation the parking is complimentary from the restaurant. The outside courtyard looks so magical with all the lush trees and the outdoor lights, I love it! Our lecture was inside in the large room, and the seating was plentiful in a board room-like table with large comfortable chairs. To begin we were served fresh bread with whipped butter and Spinach, Kale, and Artichoke dip. Both were delicious and a good whetting to the appetite. Next came the second course, I got the House salad and oh my goodness, that salad was soooo good and a very generous portion that I honestly ended up getting full from the salad! The greens were fresh, and the mix of candied pecans, roasted beets, and goat cheese on top made for a perfect mix of flavors. Probably my very favorite salad that I've eaten in quite a while! For my main course I had ordered the Parmesan Crusted Jidori Chicken Breast which lay on a bed of steamed spinach and Mashed potatoes. I took a few bites to enjoy the fresh cooked meal and then had to have the rest boxed for lunch the next day. Then dessert came, I LOVE creme brulee and it was so light and fluffy and perfect that I ended up eating the whole thing. What was nice is the creme brulee did not feel heavy in my belly and I didn't feel weighed down despite how full I felt! Staff was really kind, they all greeted us and introduced themselves by name and they whisked in and out with our orders and with drink refills. I definitely recommend Davenport's restaurant!!! We were able to walk right in and grab a table as the afternoon rush was over. First, it is a cute restaurant with nice ambiance inside. You can also eat outside it looked like, but it was hot so that was not going to be an option. Started with the mini crab cakes and the tuna on crispy rice. The crab cakes had a good amount of crab in them, which was really nice, but they definitely tasted under seasoned. The tuna on crispy rice was great though, topped with avocado and a spicy mayo. Nice crispiness on the outside, soft rice in the middle, good flavor, just a nice bite. For entrees we tried the chimichuri steak sandwich, the French dip and the lobster roll. The lobster roll looks the part but was light on the actual lobster, in our opinions. Felt the bread to everything else ratio was really off, so it feels like mostly bread with some lobster here and there. The chimichuri steak sandwich comes with arugula, gruyere, roasted peppers and grilled shallots and was a decent bite but not overly memorable. The French dip, on the other hand, was really tasty with that au jus and melted cheese. That was the real winner. Overall, nice ambiance, drinks were decent, some misses and some hits. If you go, definitely get the French dip and the tuna of sticky rice, slip that liner roll and the mini crab cakes and up to you on the chimichuri steak sandwich.

Flavor-wise it was great and delicious, but the texture was a bit more soggy than I prefer, especially once the syrup soaked in. I mentioned this to our waitress, who was incredibly sweet and understanding about it. She even said she would share the feedback with the kitchen staff, which I really appreciated. Had a reservation, but the restaurant was very busy, so we were seated outside on a patio, which was fine. Started off with an amuse consisting of a sparkling rose and a whipped, creamy mixture of goat cheese, pecans, chives and aleppo pepper. The rose was rose, it was a small sipping glass, while the whipped treat was alright, interesting but presentation was very basic. For the real meal, we started with bigeye tuna tartare and the pork belly and watermelon. The pork belly was perfect, nice and crispy on the outside, juicy inside, while the watermelon gave a pop of sweetness to cut the savory of the pork belly. The tartare was equally as good with pickled ginger, avocado and ponzu sauce with crispy wontons. For entrees we went with the langostino fettuccine and the braised short rib. The short rib fell apart perfectly and had good flavor to it. It didn't necessarily come off as memorable but it was good. The langostino fettuccine was great, good amount of langostino in a vodka sauce giving a little spicy note to the dish. Very good. To end the meal we had the apple cobbler and the molten cake. The cobbler came with vanilla ice cream and candied walnuts. Nice overall bite. The molten cake was the opposite of molten, missing that runny gooeyness in the middle. Overall, great ambiance, good food and pleasant staff. I'd say skip the molten cake and up to you on the short rib.
