My best guess is that the reason she prescribed an inhaler for shortness of breath is that the med is a steroid-meant to lower your upper-respiratory inflammation. I agree that steroids have side-effects but this one is presumably preferable to not breathing at all. But it is a treatment of a SYMPTOM, not necessarily a cure for whatever ails you beyond that (for example, pneumonia) which might indicate some further med or treatment. Which requires some patience on your part, as well as willingness to follow what she suggests, or get some other opinion. Dr Sadgeo cannot solve that problem for you; if you have issues with steroids (and a lot of patients might) you have to tell her that, and let her propose alternatives. I have also spoken extensively with her nurse assistant and only have positive things to say about Karen. Maybe the messages that you leave, are not so easy to understand for either of them. That is a possible issue with your choice of communication modes, not so much a reflection of the quality of care that you say you are getting. That is, you might be better served by actually talking to them directly (on the phone or face to face) rather than leaving messages that apparently do not accomplish your intended outcome and leave both of them guessing about what you want. And that applies to any service provider, no matter who it is or what they do for you.

Our appointment was running late because of the previous patient, and she had another one right after mine, but she didn't rush our appointment at all.
