Went in to get my Iphone X screen repaired. The guy was very polite and welcoming. He saw my phone and asked if it was an original screen as it seemed pretty good quality. I said no, AT&T fixed it for me. He said his screens were just as good as well. I said great. He asked me if I wanted after market ($125) or original ($199). I said after market, thinking it would be the same quality as the AT&T screen that I currently had. The AT&T one, face ID did not work so I assumed it was considered the same quality as after market. Went back 20 minutes later, and received my phone with his new screen. Again he was very nice. When I got home, I saw that the color of the screen was discolored, and the resolution seemed lower to my eye (this is just personal to my eyes, some people might not even be able to tell the difference). There was no mention of the screen discoloring prior to the fix, so of course I was upset. If he had mentioned that his aftermarket screens, the color wouldn't be the same, or the aftermarket one would be different than the AT&T screen I have now, I would've thought about it more and asked more questions. Of course I wasn't expecting it to be the same quality as apple especially for $125, but I was expecting it to be the similar to the one I had prior or just a heads up about the difference. I was under the impression that this new one was going to have OLED screen, which apparently the AT&T screen had. When I gave him a call, he explained that the screen discoloring would be due to it being an LED screen and to give it time for my eyes to get adjusted. He did enable true tone for me, but it didn't seem much of a difference for me personally. He reinstalled my broken screen, and I received my refund. He is professional, just be sure to ask questions as there are different types of screens. read more

My 6s Plus was stuck in headphone mode due to a little water getting on it. I tried cleaning the headphone port with a q-tip but the q-tip broke off inside the port. Upon removing the broken piece, I realized that the port was no longer working. I was originally going to get a warranty replacement but T-Mobile informed me it will cost $175. I shopped around for a cheaper alternative and came across Guru Repairs. I requested a quote on here then brought my phone in the following day to have my headphone jack replaced. Michael replaced the headphone jack for less than half the cost of a warranty replacement and everything seems to be working perfectly so far. The whole process took about 45 minutes and it also came with a 90 day warranty. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs their electronics repaired. read more

Quick and straightforward. My iPhone 7 wasn't turning on and I decided to find someplace close. He immediately diagnosed the problem as being a bad battery and told me to pick it up in half an hour. The guy knew exactly what he was doing and even stated that there was a 6 month warranty in case something went wrong. Had my screen replaced for my iPhone 11 Pro Max and screen stopped working! Cool, call Michael and tell him what had occurred and he send the screen back to the manufacturer since it's a design flaw and replaces my screen once again. Since then I have moved out of state and I have the same exact issue. Screen is unresponsive following the same errors that occurred the first time, call Michael once again and he says to get the screen fixed else where and to ship ship him the screen back wrapped as is so he could verify that it's in good condition and that it's a manufacturer error once again and he will return my money. Call him to verify he has received the screen in good condition even tho I left my number inside the shipment attached to the screen tho I still had to call him 2 weeks later and he says yes! All good I will make a return. This was 2 months ago! I have been calling repeatedly day in and day out for a return on what was promised, I have texted and left voicemails and nothing. read more

i bought a used mac laptop online for college and it was working fine for me and started having some issues. i didn't have a lot of money or time to repair it, which is why i bought a used one. my boyfriend did me the greatest favor of bringing it here, and even though i couldn't make it, they repaired issues on the computer and installed Microsoft office which i am using right now for my class. the repair was more invasive than i thought it would be but was nearly not as much as i thought i was going to spend. i am so happy with the results, and they even gave us a 3 month warranty on their work! amazing! will definitely be bringing my electronics here and recommending to friends read more

Instead of filing another insurance claim on my phone, I brought over to Guru my Galaxy 6 Edge phone that was in perfect condition on the outside but had issues on the inside that made the phone not turn on. He explained what was going to be done to it physically to fix it as well as the pros and cons. I was given an estimate and also a brief explanation of the equipment he uses and his experience. Had a pleasant demeanor instead of trying to brush over my situation as just another customer with a broken phone. It was fixed, the issue was with the battery connector thing and the motherboard, and I have a 90 day store warranty to make sure it's not going to fail on me. My Samsung S8 was dead! Wouldn't boot up no matter what I did! I explained to Mike that I did all of the solutions I could find on the web(hold volume down & power button at the same time, volume up & Bixby & power.. ) NONE worked! In a few minutes he had diagnosed the problem. I went to eat & in about an hour he called, it's fixed! Put a new charge port & battery in it. The price? $85! First the guy told me a part would take 2 days to come in and the repair would take 30 min. The part took 5 days to come in and took 2 hours to repair. The screen also broke within a week from regular use without being dropped even once. He definitely got some fucking ebay piece of shit part instead of an official part, because the original screen I had lasted a year and a half without so much as a single scratch even after repeated drops. The guy said he wouldn't do anything about the broken screen and that it was my problem now. Overall extremely unsatisfied with the whole experience.
