The food wasn't bad but the girl working as the cashier was so painfully incompetent that it turned me off from the place completely. I would have given her a break if she was a high school student or something and this was her first job ever by she was definitely older that that and had 0 work ethic. Food is 5 star, organization is a 2. Ordered at 5:07pm was quoted 15-20min for a pizza and a special for one. Arrived at 5:25pm and still in the lobby with 12 other people who have paid and are waiting 20-40min....all for bread!! They dont track who has paid so when the bread comes out, the person who is at the register paying gets the bread that just came out of the oven, NOT the peoplewho have been waiting. GET organized and I guarantee your sales will increase by at least 10%. read more

Ordered a dinner for 2 over the phone. Showed up to Gus's and the rude cahsier told me there was no order under my name. Or an order that matched mine in the system. She questioned if I called the right Gus's and I showed her my phone to show I called the right number, at which time she agreed it was in fact the right Gus's. She said "well, she (pointing at another employee) will help you in a minute" At this point there was another woman waiting at least 10 minutes for her order, and another group of kids waiting for their pizza. I heard them say they were waiting at least 30 mins already and when they asked the cashier, she had no recollection of them ordering. People kept coming in the door as I continued to be pushed to the side, almost forgotten by the staff. Each person that entered the store seemed confused as to why noone was being helped. There was a solid 10 minute block where noone was at the counter to serve anyone and it was just mass confusion. I felt as if they were waiting for me to leave so they didnt have to serve me. I kept thinking to myself "everyone has their bad days, I know what its like to have hectic days at work, just give them a few minutes to catch up"... but then all I could focus on was two of their employees snacking on breadsticks through the employee door window and chatting with their co-workers instead of serving the many frustrated customers. At this point I was not going to be ignored anymore, I decided to go somewhere else that wanted my money instead of just ignoring their long time customers. I have to say I am very disappointed, my wife and I love Gus's food, but after this visit I will not give them any more of my business. read more

This is a great place to grab a bite to eat for lunch or dinner. Their prices are reasonable, service is quick, and the food is soooooooooooo good. Just a warning, their wraps/sandwiches are humongous. Also, they have the best breadsticks on the face of the planet. The bread sticks are amazing, just as everyone is saying. I work near by and will get their Blackened Chicken Flat bread at least once a month. You won't find it on their menu on line. We stopped in on a whim while passing thru town one afternoon. The place is basically a carry out but, they do have some seating so we stayed and ate in. We ordered the chicken and ribs combo that came with a Greek salad, pasta and breadsticks. The salad was decent and the breadsticks are awesome! We waited quite some time to get our food after that came out. When our food came, the lemon pepper(I believe it was) chicken tasted a bit off..it had kind of a going bad flavor...kind of like when chicken lays in the fridge for a couple of days after it's cooked..ya, not great. The ribs were pretty decent, good bbq flavoring and quite juicy and the mostaccoli was fairly good as well. read more

Truly disappointed the last few times I've ordered from Gus's... The last few times I've been here, the breadsticks and homemade salad dressings have been amazing, as always, but the Greek salads have been truly inedible. The issue is primarily with the lettuce; old/soggy, brown, big chunks of the tough stem part of the romaine. Completely inedible! One should not have to pick through a salad to find the edible parts. In the most recent case, it was the feta, beets, olives, cucumber and peppers that were the only things halfway edible. The red onion was scarce. Literally a small sliver of a ring of red onion. At this point, I don't know that I will be back, due to the consistent poor quality Greek salads. read more

If you want to carry out Italian, order from Tomato Brothers and pick it up at the bar there. While you'll be ignored and they'll be too busy to help you at Tomato Brothers, you'll still receive more of the *exact* same food for a comparable price that hasn't been sitting in warmers for quite as long. They literally serve the same food; they're owned by the same people. Anything bread I've ever had here is stale; any pasta so overcooked that it's plain mushy and the portions aren't impressive either (which is probably good, given the quality of the food.) read more

We get Gus's pizza at least once a week, and have never been disappointed! The pizza is always cooked to perfection, the bread sticks are never stale and their garlic cheese sauce is a delicious! My only complaint is very recently the staff at the Howell location doesn't seem to care about customer service. I stood at the counter for over 5 minutes waiting to be waited on, while I watched the staff standing on the back, shooting the breeze. I didn't recognise any of these employees, and I said we go there at least once a week, so hopefully this never happens ever again. Other than that, we are big fans! read more

Breadsticks are as awesome as advertised and the bbq chicken sandwich, on a bun made of similar bread, is amazingly delicious!

I was providing lunch for 16 people. The folks at the counter helped me plan the amount of food, had the order ready when I arrived, gave me all the utensils I needed to serve (including tongs for the salad), plates and napkins, and helped me carry it to my car. I had a graduation party today for my daughter, and the mostaciolli and bread sticks were awsome and they even tried to help me out, with some extra Chica bobs but they just didnt have the time , and i admit it was very last second, because another local place blew it on some brisket i ordered a month prior. Gus's has never let me down in 30 plus years so this negative review does not come lightly for me. The food was pretty good but I did have to reheat it when I got home. Part of my order was also incorrect and missing. The biggest problem was the service and watching the kitchen crash with no concern for urgency to hustle. Both managers....and I believe they were self proclaimed managers, were absolutely worthless. I spoke with them very nice at first and tried to help them by telling them how they can resolve some of their problems. I have experience in this field and take pride in the fact that it allowed me to pay for college with no loan. After I gave them a little advice, they looked ay me as though I had antlers growing out of my head. Both were just too young and too inexperienced to handle their job. The entire staff was almost moving in reverse. After waiting even longer, I asked again for my order.....it had been sitting on the counter and was cold. I did raise my voice and share my views. I was then thanked by all the other patrons as I left. One gentleman also told everyone to pay with a Visa then go home and call the credit card company and cancel the sale. I understand we are in a pandemic and several restaurants are suffering and we should support them. But I can not support you when the service is bad, food is cold, orders are not correct and, management is nonexistent with no concern for their customers. It was a total crash and burn evening for one of my favorite places to eat in Howell. My next visit there will not be until Covid is over. I will be supporting other restaurants and look forward to better service from the many other local establishments. read more

It is honestly a 50/50 chance that our order is correct and what's sad is that we still go here. I love their breadsticks and dip so much that I tolerate the pizza being inconsistent. It's run by teenagers so I'm sure that has a lot to do with it. read more

Greek Salad and Breadsticks are the best in the world! I've been going there for many years and never get tired of it. Any reception, open house ect. It is a must to get a enough Greek Salad and bread sticks for the party. Anyone comes to town to visit.... Gus's is always on there list of places to eat. Going to go on a plane to S.F. next month to visit family who moved there from Howell. Trying to figure out how to take Greek Salad and Breadsticks on the plane. lol read more
