This is now Gladje!…read more I visited for the first time on Small Business Saturday and was overwhelmed at the space they have - the building seems to go on forever and there are a few small rooms to check out too. Right away we were greeted by a sweet and bubbly employee and told what deals they had happening and she explained a little bit about the place. There's a check out desk near the back of the building and a painter actively working who was also very friendly. They didn't seem at all perturbed by little ones running around, they welcomed a family with little children and weren't nervous about them breaking anything (there's much to look at and potentially break!) Prices were higher but they're all local artists so I am absolutely not complaining. I got a book for my godchild that was signed by the local author as well as a cute travel puzzle for her birthday - I know she'll love it. I would love to check out their classes and wish I was more local to check out their live music on Saturdays too, such a warm and friendly place!

We did the American Swedish Institute, then hit Ingebretsen's for dinner supplies. What a great choice. Six types of herring. Swedish Meatball Meat. Julekage. Limpa Rye. Scandinavian sausages and cheese. Store made Lefse. Candy, Fish, Crisp Breads, Lingonberry jam. We loaded up, wheeled to my daughters house, and had a wonderful family meal.

Butcher was very helpful with the regular sarcasm they can dish out but I also feel I might have gotten scammed with my cash payment that is required. It could have been my error but something felt strange in our transaction. Then four of us were in the gift store at the check out counter and a gentleman walked in and asked if cash was required for the food just in the coolers right inside the door and the woman answered that in the market it was but I am not sure she answered his actual question. he immediately turned away and left as we all attempted to say they have a cash machine in the store but no mention from the gift store sales person. I felt sorry for him. We all enjoyed our items we did purchase but unfortunately Norway did not win but they did put up a good fight.

After 6 mo the tables showed signs of warping in the wood. We also had weird spots start showing up on the top of the sideboard (it was always covered with a piece of custom glass). Mike the store manager was so understanding and helpful and let me exchange it for a different piece (we did have the extended warranty). Then, we went back and bought another table for our kitchen.We purchased the Oliver. Once it was delivered, it just didn't look right in our kitchen. And when we fully extended it with the leaf, there was large gap in the middle and it was very noticeable.We went into this store within two days and stated we would like to exchange it for something else. Sam was obliged to do so, although we were told we had to pay a 20% stocking fee. We did end up exchanging for a different table at scandinavian design, but we did end up having to pay a $300 restocking fee. Seems excessive especially if you're exchanging becuase of a product your not satisfied with. So my advice is to make sure you ask them to open it if there's a leaf and really, really pay attention to the quality before you bring it home. We will still continue to buy from there.Although I will pay more attention to those aspects.

The price was surprisingly reasonable for the quality - we have received quite a few comments from guests about how comfortable they are! This will definitely be our first stop the next time we need to shop for new furniture. One star off because there was no one around to assist me in lifting chairs down from a rack so I could test them out. Being pregnant at the time, it was something I would have appreciated help with!

I had a 40 year old teak dining table top that had gone through a lot. A daughter allowed a candle…read moreto melt on it. Someone had used a sharp knife on it. A kindergartner had put a school project on it while the glue was still wet and when he lifted up his project, a weird pattern of the wood stain was gone! Luckily the base of the table was in very good condition. Last summer, Danish Teak Classics worked a miracle. My table top looks like it did when it was new and we both were 40 years younger. The staff hauled the table top to & from my hatchback and wrapped it in a new movers quilt when I hauled it home. I highly recommend their restoring services.
