I'm finally back in Paris France (where I live most of the year) and wanted to absolutely write a review for this salon. From time to time I go to Miami to visit family. I am used to excellent hairdressers in Europe and the USA. However, I must say that I was fortunate enough to accidentally find Gustavo Briand's Studio. He is an excellent hairdresser and colorist. He is a former top stylist from Vidal Sassoon and this is obvious from his masterful ease with both cutting and color. He is a top notch pro, very charming, kind, and welcoming. The salon has a wonderful energy and is well decorated/equipped. As for my hair, I am very happy with the results and will come back with pleasure. I got a keratin treatment with them and it ended amazingly done! I have a very frizzy and curly hair besides that it is chemically treated and it adds more frizz. I had a keratin treatment once 4 years ego and hated it. My hair became kinda straiten but still with a lot of frizz and i had to cut about 1,5" of the ends because they were all burned. However i did some research and ended up thinking that it might be the treatment wasn't applied properly and decided to go for it again as it is very difficult for me to maintain my hair in decent shape here in Miami's weather. After reading reviews I decided for this salon. It was Sat. And I really wanted to do it that day because of time but I was prepared to be asked to make an appointment for later on the week. I was very kindly greeted and we talked for good 20 min about what result i want to have. And what was my surprise when Gustavo offered me to do it at that same moment. So we did. Today is my first hair wash and I LOVE how it came. I still have some of my waives but they look so good and the hair got much better texture even my split ends got better. They use very good products and did I mention they offered me cupcakes during the treatment? Such a nice experience! Very professional and amazing results! read more

I have to say Gustavo gave me one of the best hair colours I have ever had ( blonde) I like foils/ highlights and he seems to have a talent at that. It was also the most expensive. Came here to get a haircut and highlights at this salon when I was in Miami after seeing an article for Allure magazine online, citing Gustavo Briand's salon as one of the best salons in Miami for highlights, as I was new to the area and needed my color touched up. Gustavo did an amazing job. Definitely the best highlights I have ever gotten. I showed him a photo of what I wanted, and the outcome was so much better than I could have ever expected. He spends the time to make sure that your hair comes out as close to perfect as possible. Would definitely recommend him to others and would definitely go again! I'm glad I finally went to Gustavo's salon for a haircut after trying several salons and being disappointed every time. Gustavo is one of the few hair stylist who truly takes pride in his profession and his work and customer service clearly show it. Certainly the best men's stylist in Miami Beach if not in the Miami area. Not only is he extremely skilled (he can cut better with his scissors than other stylist with a clipper) but also a true stylist who can advise you on your hair. I'm on the constant pursuit of finding "the salon" that will make me come back for more and I believe it's just ended.I left Gustavo Briand studio in love with my hair for the first time.I went in there desperately wanting to fix my color but with no idea of what I wanted as the end result and open to suggestions.Christian was awesome!He seems to be the one to go to for color and I can see why.My hair looks healthy and the color looks completely natural.I like that everyone in the salon has a specialty.So after Christian is done with color then you get your cut from Patricia who is also very talented.It's a small but comfortable salon with a modern look.I was really shocked at how quickly I was finished.I've learned to expect spending the better part of my day at a salon and thought this time would be no different but I was very pleasantly surprised to be driving back home two and a half hours later and that's after a full color,highlites and blowdry.Another thing that I wasn't expecting was how nice everyone was.From the guy who runs the front desk and washes your hair to Gustavo himself.Even the other customers were friendly and quick to smile.South beach is notorious for snobby people and bad customer service but this salon definitely doesn't fit that stereotype.Oh,and the prices aren't that bad either.I was preparing myself for the worst when I went to pay at the front but it all came out to $250.00 which is a pretty fair price for a salon in this area.I'm definitely going back and if the experience the second time is as good as the first I'll be making this salon my one and only. read more

Oh my God... This guy really sucks!! Save your hair while you can!! His haircuts are not worth more than $20 I should have walked away. I got the worst haircut of my life! I don't remember the last time I've been so angry at a hairdresser. Gustavo is clueless!! I can't get my hair to stay in place. His cut is jagged and disorganized. Very sloppy and no sense. I moved to South Florida two years ago. I must say, I went through about three hair dressers before I found Gustavo! I have now had my hair done with Gustavo a couple of times and I am convinced that he will be my go to guy in Florida. I live in Fort Lauderdale, but I will drive down to South Beach to see him because he truly is amazing and my hair looks great. Fabulous highlights! Gustavo transformed my hair and my total look. My friends are amazed. This is a small, independent, owner operated salon with all the talent and equipment of the bigger salons minus the attitude. You will come as a stranger and leave as family. I was a Groupon customer yet never felt like I was being treated any differently then the regulars. Two weeks on and my hair still looks great. You can find cheaper but not more skillful or personal service. This salon is a little outside my budget but I am already saving for my next visit. Thank you Gustavo. Gustavo is a perfectionist who also listens to what you want when doing your hair, which I absolutely need. It is hard to find a good stylist for natural looking blonde highlights in Miami and I have tried 3 different high end salons and finally found someone who actually knows what he is doing! It is expensive and it takes a long time, plus, the salon is not very fancy looking so it is easy to be turned off, but if you want good color, look past all of that and go to Gustavo. When he was done with my color and my hair was dry, he was really upset to find my hair so uneven either from breakage or a bad haircut and wouldn't let me leave without cleaning it up. He is also so kind and easy to talk to, which, as anyone who has ever gotten color knows, is a HUGE plus! If you can afford it, I highly highly recommend Gustavo. read more
