I think this is our favorite restaurant in Paris. From walking up the stairs to the restaurant to leaving with brioche bread to take home. There were a few hiccups, but food was on point. Service was good but should be better. There were a few times it was very slow and restaurant was not full. The oddest part for us was when the dessert cart came. The person did not tell us about the different desserts and not sure if he was a manager? We're not exactly sure why but he had us use our own hand to pick up the dessert items which we knew was not right. We asked twice before using our fingers. We were careful not to touch the other items in cart. It seemed very normal for him. We watched other tables later, and server used tongs to get the desserts. This is our second time at the Paris location, and not our first time at a Michelin restaurant. Highlight was to see Guy Savoy! He's such a kind Chef and was gracious to let us in the kitchen and take a photo. We did this last time as well. Thank you for a delicious meal.

We have eaten in Michelin-starred restaurants on several occasions but I can count with one hand those that truly has giving us an overall memorable experience. Only four of them, to be exact. Dani Garcia in Marbella, Eleven Madison in New York City, DiverXO in Madrid and GUY SAVOY in Paris. This restaurant is THE definition of high-quality gastronomy. In order to get to the restaurant you have to climb a majestic staircase. To our surprise, as soon as we entered the restaurant the chef was standing there greeting us. As they walk you to your table you can appreciate the cool and edgy art pieces in the walls. First thing I noticed at the table were the colorful artsy plates, very unique. There were only four other tables in the room, so it was delightful noticing how the servers, almost doing a coordinated choreography, brought dishes out and place them all at the same time. We started our experience with a champagne toast and then the Sommelier suggested a Burgundy Chardonnay, french white wine which paired perfectly with the food. All dishes were absolutely delicious. I have to highlight the deconstructed onion soup and the artichoke black truffle soup. Standing ovation. The lobster was also OUTSTANDING! For dessert they had one of my ultimate favorites, the hazelnut tart. Creamy and nutty. The chef not only greeted us at the entrance, he took the time to pass by the tables to make sure everything is fine. For me that was impressive. The attention to detail is of a world-class restaurant. Everything immaculate. Dining here was a total pleasure!

First meal of the trip and it was a good one. Review is also for lunch too but still quite expensive. The good Exquisite preparation and flavors from the 3 layers of caviar, the truffle and artichoke soup to lobster and chicken. Everything about the meal was wonderful as they kept coming and coming with all sorts of bells and whistles. The bad The room we dined in was very quiet. Almost too quiet for my liking. The room had only 4 tables and I felt everyone was just whispering to be polite. It was kinda annoying and reminded me why I'm starting to get bored of fine dining.

The restaurant is pronounced Ghee Savuah. What an honor TO MEET THE CHEF HIMSELF at the restaurant. I couldn't believe that he was standing at the front when we entered the restaurant. The restaurant requires a jacket to be worn at the restaurant. If you forget one, they have a rental available, however the fit may not be in your favor. This restaurant is the EPITOME of HIGH-QUALITY GASTROMY and requires a serious splurge to dine here. Lunch prices are economical than dinner, although this was the most expensive complete meal I've ever had. Prepare to leave an open tab because nothing is free here, including water. We started out with a CHAMPAGNE TOAST and this sparkling wine was just right to mood right. Initially, we were the only people sitting in the room and it was very quiet and roomy. We were greeted by three different staff members that were there to assist throughout our journey. One of the members was a Wine Sommelair and his only job is to pour and help you find the right wine. I was reluctant to try the PAIR WINES with my meal, because my partner doesn't drink. However, they let me pair wines only for myself and I got to experience the beauty of French wines in different arrays of color, bitterness, and flavor. We went with their LUNCH SET MENU which consisted of: AMUSE BOUCHE; GREEN PEA DISH; TEXTURES AND TEMPERATURES OF GREEN AND WHITE ASPARAGUS; COULOURS OF CAVIAR, SMOKED SABAYON; RAW/COOKED LOBSTER WITH CORAL, WITH A CARROT-LOBSTER CRISP; ARTICHOKE SOUP with BLACK TRUFFLE; LAYERED TRUFFLED MUSHROOM BRIOCHE; GUINEA FOWL COOKED THREE WAYS, SAUCE SUPREME, SALAD OF GUINEA FOWL LIVERS; SORBET; RICE PUDDINGS We ended our meal with COFFEE. It came in this tall cup and upon lifting it was a small round chocolate cookie hidden underneath. The drink was excellent and I loved how the chef came back to every table to see how the meal was. I took many photos but one that I am very fond of was the picture I took with the mighty chef. In summary, the preparation, the presentation, the professionalism, and the taste were all incredible. There are no words to describe how everything was immaculate. Although this dining pleasure has dented my wallet, it was all worth it. Since this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and this dining gastronomy came in full circle in completing my Parisian trip. If the Chef is ever reading this, here's what I want to tell him. Chef Savoy, merci pour cette expérience inoubliable.

Guy Savoy was exceptional as far as service, ambiance, wine list, and furnishings. The food was also quite good but did not "wow" my wife and me at every turn. What stood out the most was the quiet atmosphere and ambiance. There was a fireplace and we spent most of our meal dining alone in a room with windows overlooking the Seine. Truly, an exquisite ambiance. The service was incredibly attentive and thoughtful, as one should expect from a restaurant with a converted third Michelin star. The wine pairings were not part of the menu but were selected by a sommelier who (as you should expect) really knows his wine. I was so impressed I asked for the full list of wines served afterward. The food seemed to get better and better after each course, with the crescendo being a chicken and truffle dish. A truffle soup was also exceptional. But the dishes became less impressive towards the end. All in all, I would rate Guy Savoy 4.5 out 5. And, like Per Se, I think Carte Blanche in Dallas is better to be completely honest. But Guy Savoy is definitely worth a stop if you're in Paris.

This review is way overdue, as our dinner experience here was in February, and now it is already September...At the time of our dining the restaurant had 3 Michelin Stars, but the day after our dining there, we read an article that Monsieur Savoy has lost a star. Must have been an awkward call to get that news... Regardless, our dinner at Guy Savoy Paris will forever remain in our memory as the best meal of our lives by far! My hubby and I are fortunate to have had dined at many incredible restaurants around the world, but this place is just above and beyond them all. It's not just the food, but the whole experience was phenomenal including the location which cannot be replicated anywhere else in the world. Located in Le Monnaie, the restaurant is situated on the 2nd floor of a functioning minting building. The entrance is grand and the staircase that leads to the restaurant at night is majestic. Our hats are off to M. Savoy on all his achievements and his management team. He is not only talented but is a very warm and friendly person. It should be noted that hubby and I were not in our best conditions due to our stomach problems starting that day and we were not hungry at all...yet every single dish impressed us. Maitre D personally designed the menu for us since we told him that we couldn't eat that much. He inquired what we liked to eat and designed it so that it was light on the stomach. We had the best table in the house as per hubby's request. Everything was perfect! Their prix fixe was 13 course dinner, but we reduced ours to 6 courses. There weren't much price difference from reducing all those courses and it is understandable because they had to design a custom menu for us. Our bill was US$1100 including wine. Our menu was seafood dominant and of course included was M. Savoy's famous artichoke soup. Everything was divine and service was impeccable. Sommelier recommended the most amazing wines. Will absolutely return again!

Truly one of the best meals of our lives, an amazing culinary experience. We splurged here as the pinnacle of our honeymoon trip and it was well worth it for the tasting menu. After a glass of champange, we started with a amuse bouche of champagne jelly, zucchini with goat cheese, radish, asparagus, and snap pea. Next was a foie gras bite on toast and a smoking plate with leek and tarragon to smell beforehand. Everything was impeccably plated and no detail was forgotten. Our next three courses were dry ice cooked salmon with green caviar, their famous artichoke soup with black truffle and brioche with black truffle butter, and then a filet mignon with roasted eggplant and crispy potato lattice and sliced steak with demi galce. Onto the dessert portion, first had a palate cleanser of peach foam with frozen mint and peach sorbet center and then apricot with honey and goat cheese whipped cream on a muesli crisp with apricot sauce. This apricot dish was the most beautifully plated food I have ever seen, I still think about it all the time. We thought we might be finished here, but then the dessert cart came out! So many selection, we seemed to pick one of everything to try and it was all incredible. The service was absolutely amazing as well, you feel as if you are being entertained in someone's home for the evening. Yes, this is a big splurge, but if you are going to spend the money for an impeccable coursed meal, this is the place to do it.

My wife and I returned to Guy Savoy for another meal 17 months after our last one. This time we ate without our daughter, but with our son, a cousin and an old friend, and we had lunch, instead of dinner. The dinner's 13+ course "Colours, Textures & Flavours Menu" was just too much for me. The lunch's seven course "Keep it simple" menu was just about perfect. To me, the best gastronomic meals are convivial and that starts with the chef. As he often does, Chef Guy Savoy greeted us as we entered the restaurant. After that, we were cared for by the excellent front of house staff. As for the food itself, the kitchen produces some of the most delicious and extraordinary dishes that I have ever experienced. Period. I'll post photos. The wine pairings were also extraordinary. I think that asparagus and artichoke are two ingredients with which it's very difficult to pair a wine, but, for the first time in my life, the selected wines paired perfectly with them. If you want to experience gastronomy at the highest level, you cannot go wrong with a meal at Guy Savoy. I'm already looking forward to my next meal there.

So, during this most recent visit to Paris, I visited 5 different Michelin Restaurants Epicure Pur Septime L Tour Da Argant And Guy Savoy I would have to say that this place was our favorite overall. The food The Ambiance Comfort Cadence of dishes for the tasting menu And service was all at the top of the food chain literally and figuratively. Guy Savoy is located in what appears to be a historic building. The entrance is grand and beautiful. With a majestic staircase leading up to the restaurant. The dining rooms are dark, warm, and seductive. The service is first class, gracious and humble without pretense and on par with 3 star Michelin Restaurant Le Cinque also in Paris. I'm actually perplexed as to why this place has 2 stars while Epicure has 3 stars. Both places provide similar 3-star services and food. But I found Epicure to be a little too proud of themselves and lacking in grace and humility. But you can read my review for them when I post it. Anyways, the tasting menu will run you €650 per person, without wine pairing. They do not have a conventional bar nor signature cocktails, but they can accommodate any standard cocktail requests you make. I asked for a Negroni, and my wife had a mock tail. Both were quite good, with the only critique being that the ice cubes for my Negroni were actual ice cubes and not the proper single crystal clear hunk of ice. But the taste was excellent. We had great seats by the window facing out towards the river Seine. Quite romantic. There is the obligatory purse seat and coat check-in like any good Michelin Restaurant. The amount of luxurious ingredients is over flowing. Dishes that we normally don't like were prepared in amazing ways that turned convention on its head (cold raw oysters). My wife actually ate 90% of everything served. Which is incredibly rare for her. The only dish that was a miss for the both of us was the Guinea Fowl. This is apparently a favorite amongst the locals though. My favorite thing was the ice cream trolley. I wanted to eat the whole thing. The best part is that you CAN! They will serve you as much of their home made ice cream with accompaniments as you wish. Without making you feel undignified in the least. I wanted to ask them to roll the trolley back to my hotel So the entire tasting course took a little over three and a half hours to get through. But this dinner was less excruciating than most other tasting menus. Almost as pleasant as my experience at Le Cinq. Which says alot about the comfort of the seats, atmosphere and graciousness of the staff. These tasting menus can sometimes feel more like marathons instead of fine dining. But this place kept the entire evening enjoyable. At the end of the evening each guest was presented with a delicious cruffian (croissant/muffin). This days offering was a Framboise and praline cruffian. Which we enjoyed the next day during our tour bus ride to Mont Saint Michel.

Exceptional. Perfection. Creative. Inventive. Magnifique. This is how we felt leaving Guy Savoy. The evening begins walking up the gorgeous red carpet stairs and promptly greeted by the hostess, sat down immediately and greeted immediately by Huebert (the best server!!). A cleansing drink was waiting for us at the table. We were sat in one of the largest rooms which is darkly painted with modern art. We had the tasting menu at 550 euro/person. The sommelier, Charles, was so helpful throughout the evening from starting us with champagne, then white wine then a bottle of red then port then cognac. Our server, Jules, was so impressive. He told us about himself, made small talk, could explain all the dishes perfectly. Chef Guy Savoy greeted us when we sat and was constantly walking around the restaurant all 4 hours of our dining experience. We even got a photo with him at the end of the evening. The tasting menu was incredible. Everything about this place was incredible. Our glasses were full, our table crumbed multiple times, table adjusted for restroom breaks, being walked to the restroom. It's worth the hype. It deserves its 3 Michelin stars.

We spent a perfect lunch at Guy Savoy, enjoying the space, the encounter with the chef, and the very funny and talkative waiter.... Every course was excellent. The recommendations were perfect. We got treated with some additional "surprises". We felt very welcome, and this definitely counts as one of the best place to celebrate something exceptional, for the happy ones who can afford it. The highlights were the soup, and the mille feuilles revisited. No picture can give them justice! Many thanks to the staff.

Mmmmm. That's gastronomic speak for one of the best meals and dining experiences. From the entry, seating, greeting, service, cuisine, sommelier, ambience, comfort - this experience exceeded expectations. See photos for dish descriptions. Should be given 6 Yelp stars, 2 for every Michelin star. Had all the signature dishes. Please mind that there is dress code for gents, but don't worry they do have jackets, not sure if in every size but our son got one that fit perfectly. Already planning the return. Thank you.

We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

They had a number of goods to choose from and I ended up buying a few things for souvenirs. As for the actual restaurant, they had a number of delicious sounding items on their menu. Our server was very attentive to us and helped us decide on our dinner orders. Similar to the other restaurants though. After our food was delivered, it was far in between when we were checked on again. And after dessert it took even longer for our server to bring the bill. Overall, the food was a letdown. I do not exaggerate when I say that the frog legs just tasted like slightly flavored water. My friend's ravioli had a fairly decent flavored sauce but the pasta was a bit chewy. My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.

On the other hand, it made me realize that my mother was a terrible cook. Bistro des Augustins is a small, cozy venue offering both indoor seating and terrace seating near Pont Neuf. It serves a small number of curated dishes, including a wonderfully traditional Bistro Gratin in a homey ceramic dish served piping hot with a brown crispy cheesy top, herbs, spices and chicken. You can also get it with salmon. My brothers and I only saw my mother use our gas range to light her cigarettes, sanitize needles to remove our splinters, and make s'mores during the summer months when she couldn't muster the energy to take us 'outside camping.' I mean, all she had to do was borrow a cookbook, which I'm sure were readily available from maybe a neighbor or in any local bookstore or the public library. How hard is that? I was the only kid who brought a can of tuna and his own monogrammed can opener to school every day. Every day. And mom convinced me that the tuna holster she got me for my birthday was cool and hip. I was a naive mercury-filled fool, although I did become a very fast runner in junior high school because of the tuna holster. The interior décor of Bistro des Augustins is informal and vintage bistro style - wooden tables, traditional chalkboard menus, and soft lighting - creating a relaxed and comfy ambiance. My eyes have been opened to what's possible. Thank you Bistro des Augustins for expanding my culinary horizons. Five stars.

Vibey 30 somethings and those of us tourists that have begrudgingly figured it out. It is close quarters inside, but when in Rome. My bestie from middle school and I shared the escargot (bless you) pasta, which was delicious, and the duck, which was exceptional. We split a very fairly priced bottle of wine and ended the night with the scoop of mousse. If they could figure out how to do that intravenously, that'd be great. The mousse reminded me of a great guilty pleasure, which is eating straight out of the can of Duncan Hines chocolate frosting (ask me how I know, I do this often, going to rebrand it to me being European). Loved it here.

Visiting Paris for a weekend, Chez Janou was certainly on the top of my list of must-eats. They…read moreoriginally gained a lot of attention for their "famous" decadent chocolate mousse. If you plan on eating here I HIGHLY recommend getting a reservation. You may have to make one a month or more in advance as well via their website. I was unable to snag one in time, but arrived right when they opened at 12pm and got a walk-in spot. Walk-ins are accepted, but there will most likely be a line when you arrive. We waited shortly before we were lucky enough to get a seat inside. Loved the inside of the restaurant and found it to be a fun vibe. Service was good and server did a good job checking in on us. My one issue was regarding their menu and nut allergies. Someone in my party had a more severe nut allergy. Our server wrote down all the menu items that were supposed to be safe and have no cross-contamination. My friend ordered the ribeye steak and unfortunately started having a reaction to the food. This prompted us to leave our meal early, missing out on the mousse. This was very frustrating and scary. I'm not sure where the communication went wrong, but our server did have a menu with all the listed allergens in the food. Each table is given green olives when you're seated, which are great to snack on. I ended up ordering the Magtet de cavard au romarin which was a duck breast with rosemary, served with potatoes. Food arrived within 10-15 minutes of ordering alongside a basket of French bread. My duck breast was great, full of tons of flavor, and cooked perfectly. I thought it seemed a little colder on the bottom side, but not concerningly so. The au jus to dip the duck meat in was absolutely amazing. It paired so well with the tender duck and really amplified the flavors of the dish. The potatoes that accompanied the duck were phenomenal. Cooked with olive oil, they were soft and just delicious. Not many complaints about my entree! Overall, I thought Chex Janou delivered a lovely meal for me. As for my friend, not so much. Her allergic reaction was unexpected and her food did allegedly contain some sort of nut. This was very disappointing as it caused us to leave early and miss the famous chocolate mousse. So if you have nut allergies, be weary and really double check with the kitchen on what you can/can't order. Otherwise, the meal was fabulous and I loved my duck breast. I will be returning my next trip to Paris as I have to try the mousse!

We sat in the back (not the very back), but the front area looks very cozy --mostly reserved for French speakers, it appeared. We ate here twice in one week. Once on our own, and once with friends visiting Paris the same week as us. Two VERY different experiences. The first experience was lovely, friendly, and absolutely delicious. 4.5 stars. Simple classic French cuisine. We shared the mini raviolis stuffed with mushroom and a foie gras sauce. Wow. And shared their famous beef bourguignon. The tender beef, the sauce! I love the way they plate it too. Delicious. And a bottle of Cabernet Franc from Bourgueil (Loire Valley). The second visit (3 star) was very different from the first visit. Less friendly, borderline rude, took a long while for table service even though it was not busy, rolled their eyes about us sharing and at our wine bottle selection. We didn't feel welcomed. Food remains good, but not outstanding. Roll of the dice on service. I'd say if you're in the area and you don't have to wait it'd be worthwhile, otherwise seek a less touristy spot.
