Let's start off with the decor. The place is beautiful. The only weird elements were our swivel chairs and the silver frame LCD in the fake fireplace. The was probably the ugliest and worse design decision ever. It makes zero sense and is an eyesore. Aside from that, the tasting menu was interesting. First of all, I had the menu with the prices whereas my girlfriend received a menu without. Secondly, the prices are up there but so much so that the almost force you for the tasting menu. That said, the good was quite good and the spacing between courses were just fine. We also had the entertainment value of some mainland Chinaman making a hissy fit over not ordering wine before his first course. The staff at Le Meurice dealt with it professionally despite the childish tantrum. Money can't buy class after all. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would be back. Thank you for the great time.

This popular Alain Ducasse restaurant in Le Meurice hotel in Paris is located within a short walking distance from the Louvre Museum. We arrived at our reservation time and they kindly provided me a jacket in order to meet their strict dress code. The classy setting is inspired by Versailles Palace and the service is truly impeccable. We ordered the prix fixe menu which started with an interesting oyster plating wrapped in butter crisp for a nice texture. The amuse-bouche came in a surprising iron pot but the root vegetables were perfectly cooked and highlighted the regional produce. The asparagus appetizer was the best that we've had. The chicken main course was tender with skin that was nicely crisp. All-in-all a good highlight of French cuisine. Dessert sorbet was prepared in front of us in an impressive fruit cart. The meal ended with coffee and walnut crisps along with a box of local chocolates. We left happy with our Michelin experience.

Absolutely amazing! No words to describe the experience! Staff was so kind, thoughtful, and professional! Very welcoming! Really loved the ambiance and decor! Elegant yet modern. Very well managed restaurant. Lovely champagne to start the meal! Very nice drink selection as well. Most delicious bread with olives! I just saw the bread is divine! Every course we served in a beautiful presentation.

The most beautiful dining room in Paris and possibly one of the most gorgeous in the world! Le Meurice in Paris is a Michelin starred restaurant by the world famous Alain Ducasse and their food and ambience simply cannot be beat! The team consists of Amaury Bouhours as the Executive Chef and Cédric Grolet as the Pastry Chef. Definitely worth traveling to Paris just for this meal!We got the Le Meurice Brunch set which included some of the best freshly-baked pastries from Cédric, and every course was so scrumptious you can taste the quality in every bite. The "Original Creations" desserts from Cédric was perhaps the best I've ever had. If you didn't know, his pastries/desserts focus on fruits and the reinterpretation of traditional French desserts and he's known for desserts that have a likeness to the fruits from which they're made. For our meal, he created a palm sized coffee bean looking dessert with numerous layers of different flavor and textures. It had the perfect level of bitterness, sweetness, crunchiness, and creaminess

2016 review - We came here for tea time and saved bags of money. That and I hate dining for 3+ hours, regardless of company. 2017 review- came for dinner and spent loads of money. I give it to the chef, the food is delicious! The steam veggies is my favorite. Come with a conversationalist. With all that being said, it's worth the money to experience it. And the food is delicious :)

This 3 Michelin-Star restaurant ended up providing us with a 2-Star experience over the Xmas holidays The restaurant itself was very elegant and the decorations were very festive. We had let them know when making our reservations that we were vegetarians & were informed this would not be a problem.....very nice of them to assure us beforehand they could accommodate our needs The restaurant does not offer tasting menus per se, but multiple courses. When we arrived, the waiter pointed out which items they could make veggie for us and suggested a main entree from the chef, since those on the menu were meaty Starter glasses of Perrier Jouet & we were off to the dining experience We had 3 courses that unfortunately were all the same dish - mixed vegetables. The exact same combination of mixed vegetables, served 3 different ways and all based on the complimentary starting dish all tables received....so we basically had 4 servings of the same dish. Had they maybe adjusted the selection of vegetables in each dish, we would have been better pleased but the way it was, it only gave us the impression that we were eating the same dish - because we were * Amuse bouche of bread crisp with truffle & quail egg * Steamed seasonal veggies in rock salt with green garlic sauce to dip. These veggies were the base layer of all our entree dishes * Avocado and seasonal vegetables (mushroom onion carrot) in beetroot juice * Turkish rice ( like a faro risotto) with seasonal vegetables and white truffle * Seasonal veggies with black rice & black truffle, in vegetable gravy * Cheese course - the only saving grace of the experience. It was phenomenal! * Desserts included Trio Chocolat for me & Baba Au Rhum for the Mr. I thought the chocolate was just okay & the Mr liked his rum cake well-enough * Sent away with Pine Nut Brittle and a box of chocolates, along with a bag of rock salt When we inquired about a possible wine paring, we were directed to bottles only. I guess they do not offer individual pairings.....and while our bottle was nice, we were hoping for a little more diversity in tasting experience Also during the evening, the Mr became overheated to the point, his face was literally dripping, so he tried to take off his jacket to cool a bit. Even before he had the jacket down to his elbows, a member of the waitstaff rushed over & literally *placed hands* on the Mr & forcibly pulled his jacket back up on his person, stating a jacket must be worn at all times. No one should EVER lay hands on another! And given the Mr was in visible distress, I would have expected to see some accommodation or an offer to help him step outside to cool down. Offering a verbal reminder of any dress-policy? Okay. But you never, ever, lay your hands on a customer!! It was totally offensive. ......especially since the family at the table beside us had the father wearing a Nine Inch Nails t-shirt, tennis shoes and a jacket. Really?? This kind of dress is okay for a 3-Star restaurant but a person wearing a shirt & tie can't take his jacket off for 5 min to cool down?? We have been able to remove jackets at all other 3-Star restaurants we have visited and I can assure you, no one would have been permitted to wear t-shirts and tennis shoes. Your "dress code" is hypocritical & not appreciated! So overall, the atmosphere was fantastic but the food was uninspired and the staff laying hands on the Mr was completely unacceptable. We will not return. TOTAL 2 people 3 hours 6 courses 2 champagnes, 1 bottle wine € 1200 including tip

This was my first meal in Paris ever. What a way to blow it out. I didn't know much about Yannick Alléno coming into this but I sure know now. He was also doing a lot of the food at the Omnivore food conference which I was attending so it was important for me to familiarize myself with this decorated chef. Le Meurice is just a nice walk from our hotel so we got got dressed in our best and made our way down. We actually ended up being a bit early but the staff were more than happy to seat us right away. They said the table was ours so why not start the experience as soon as we were ready? This maybe one of the most opulent spaces I've ever been in. A representation of the old school fine dining Paris that I'd only heard about. Gilded to the nines, the ceiling, the art, the columns...everything was so ridiculously meticulous and grand. We were seated in the middle of the room with a view of the private wine cellar table and possible peaks at the service areas and kitchen. We knew we were going full bore so we did the tasting menu and the wine pairings Degustation Menu -ROASTED CRAB MEAT WITH A DELICATE ZEPHIR WITH LEMON Cauliflower cooked in a papillote with sea salt -GREEN ASPARAGUS FROM THE SOUTH OF FRANCE WITH AN ANCHOVY BECHAMEL SAUCE Lemon crackers, olives and fresh herbs jus -STEAMED FOIE GRAS AND SHISO Yuzu juice and seaweed jam -MODERN QUENELLES OF WHITING AND LANGOUSTINE Young vegetables with farmer butter -FLANK OF VEAL COOKED LIKE A "BLANQUETTE" Crispy leeks, dried Paris mushrooms and tender vegetables -CRISPY POTATO TUBE FILLED WITH MUNSTER AND CUMIN Yellow wine jelly from Arbois -FROZEN MERINGUE SOUFFLÉED WITH LEMON ZEST Strawberries marinated in a cardamone juice -DISK-SHAPED DARK CHOCOLATE Stuffed with black currant and candied violet Wines: -RIESLING HOCHHEIMER HÖLLE KABINETT TROKEN - 2010 Weingut Domdechant - Rheingau -VOUVRAY SEC - LE HAUT LIEU - 2007 Domaine Huet -CHAMBOLLE MUSIGNY - CLOS DU VILLAGE - 2006 Domaine A. A barrage of excellent dishes. Things like the seafood mousses and especially the foie/shiso were blackout good. Very well deserving of 3 Michelin stars. The service is equally deserving of the highest praise. At first we thought we'd get the stuffy French treatment that you get from stereotypical hearsay. At first they seemed very formal but as we asked questions they opened up. The sommelier was particular happy to chat up with us, explain his choices and his quote "I love my job" rung true with his personality. At the end we had a great discussion with Eric, the head waiter. He said he's been with the restaurant for 10 years now and how he loved everything about the industry; The clients, the hours, the lifestyle. He turned out to be very affable and gave us a bunch of recommendations for places to go. Even as the first place we went, it stood out as one of the most memorable. If I returned to Paris, I would definitely return for another meal. Excellent all around.

In the fabulous hotel, implacable service, great food that you can obviously expect. My favorite Ducasse's establishment does great venison once again and am a fan of his desserts. Most of all they brought the garden stand for my fresh fusion tea and loved the cup too. They got me. Hotel has a beautiful salon so it's nice after or before drinks if you wish, nice piece of music too. For the occasion this is a great place.

Just had breakfast at the restaurant. We were curious about the deco but dinner is too expensive so we chose breakfast. It was fancy but comfortable. Many people were jeans and sweaters, super casual. Food was good, not amazing. Total bill was 106 euro for 2. Enjoy the ambiance, without dress up too much :) !

It is always difficult deciding how to rate these types of restaurants... do you compare it to the price (4 stars), do you compare it to other Michelin 3 star restaurants (4 stars), or do you just rate it based on how good the meal was (5 stars)? Le Meurice lost a star in 2016 and is now "only" two Michelin stars and I can see why. If this is your first Michelin starred restaurant then it will be the best meal of your life, however, if you've experienced others than it will fall in line behind the three starred restaurants. Service had some missteps--albeit ridiculous to mention when compared to "normal" restaurants--but the real reason it seems to have lost a star comes from surprise or the lack thereof. Although Everything was top notch, nothing is presented nor tasted that makes you think, "wow, what is that?" And "how did they do that?". That unexpected exquisiteness that seems to be present in all three starred restaurants is missing here. Go to Le Meurice for an incredible dinning room, ridiculous people watching, and very good food, just don't expect to be surprised. (Unless 30 minutes of live plants cut table side to make tea is surprising)

We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

The worst part was the bread in the soup. It tasted stale which ruin the flavor of the soup. I had to finish without the bread. Escargot - Another disappointment. What made escargots special was the garlic butter and herb. Here, there were the herbs, no garlic, and French is famous with their butter but I taste oil but not buttery. Other places I actually get excited dipping the bread into the garlic butter but not here. Pan seared Foie gras - The quality of Foie Gras was definitely there. It's not as well seared as I hope but they managed to cook it through without overcooking it. The size of Foie Gras is kind of scary, it's like a small piece of rib eye steak. With just the onion soup and Foie Gras, I could barely swallow anything. Generous portion.

The only thing is we had miscommunication with the waitress about drinks. We asked for water (l'eau) but they gave us distilled water in a bottle which costed us 8 euros. I learned it's important to learn to specifically ask for carafe d'eau (tap water in French) to get free water! Felt a bit bad that we were overcharged.
