    Post-meal petit four

Truly exceptional service, delicious food, beautiful décor, and fabulous wine. Does it get any better than this? On the evening of my dinner it was pouring rain. I walked in with a soaking umbrella and damp jacket that the hosts stored for me with a smile. After being seated, I was quickly greeted by a friendly waitress who brought a menu written in English (a kind gesture). I reviewed the wine menu, asked her opinion, and was very pleased with the result. My meal also brought quite a bit of joy. Here's what I had the pleasure of eating: 1. Complimentary amuse-bouche of Parmesan cakes with zucchini purée. Don't let the description fool you - - it was so good I could have eaten ten. 2. Complimentary bread basket with both sweet and salted butters 3. A second complimentary amuse-bouche of cod soup with squash purée and foam 4. Appetizer of roasted cabbage filled with crab and vegetables, surrounded by a creamy ginger foam 5. Entrée of sea bass with potatoes 6. A ridiculously good cheese plate served with a cherry compote, figs, dried apricot, and a side salad 7. Complimentary post-meal treats of chocolates and caramels (I was also sent home with a tin containing a second round of these!) Are you convinced that you need to dine here yet? If not, check out my photos and those of other Yelpers. If this isn't one of your must-try restaurants while in Paris, rethink that decision. :-)

The service was second to none and the food was outstanding!!!! So romantic and perfect end to our stay in Paris.

Very nice ambiance for an informal Sunday dinner with my wife in this superb luxury hotel... Short but nice menu with several options of fish/seafood and meat - my wife had the cod and I enjoyed from one elaborate, full of flavor and well prepared steak tartare, preceded by "homage eggs", a subtle mixture of lobster mayo and eggs... Service was very good - all servers spoke perfect English.

This was my second Michelin rated restaurant experience and it was good. Not as good as expected but still good. The server was extraordinary but the hostess bringing the food to the server talked over to food to a coworker on the stairway leading to the dining area. The last course had melted ice cream as a result. Outside of this it seemed like a similar menu to other establishments we dined at and nothing other than the pigeon stood out as fantastic. Of course the temperature and the flavor juxtapositions were on point but there were small things that distracted from the greatness of the meal like a fruit fly buzzing by our wine the entire meal and the female staff member conversing over my courses with her female co-worker. I see how they earned the star but I couldn't give 5 stars even though I wanted to. Not so humbly submitted, Michael C.

Husband and I had the BEST time at Le 114 Faubourg! We had my birthday dinner here while in Paris and the entire experience was amazing from start to finish. Service: Fantastic! We had several different servers, all of whom were impeccably professional but still so warm and friendly (which I super appreciated, because I can't stand the cold/robotic service that often comes with fine-dining). Hubs made the reservation and we were greeted as M. & Mme. T. from the minute we walked in to when we walked out the door by nearly every person. We opted for the "114 Faubourg menu" (and added on the duck pâté in crust!) and each course was seriously amazing. The sommelier recommended the most perfect bottle of wine to pair with our dinner (which I'm still trying to hunt down with no luck). Dinner consisted of: - King crab egg w/ginger and lemon mayonnaise - Duck pâté in a crust (which, according to the menu, was a nominated for a world champion in 2011...and rightfully so!) - Green asparagus and smoked cream with haddock, fresh herb, and lemon - Roasted pike perch, onion and fennel compote w/cumin, red wine reduction - Glazed and cooked pigeon, peas "cooked in a French way," and pie of thighs with foie gras - Vanilla Bourbon millefeuille w/salted butter caramel - Assortment of complimentary chocolates Every single thing I tasted was delicious, but the absolute stand-outs for me were the king crab egg, duck pâté, the entire pigeon dish (who knew peas could be made to taste THAT good?!), and the millefeuille. This restaurant is more than deserving of its Michelin star and I'm so happy to have been able to celebrate here!

We failed to make reservations until the week before our Euro trip, and I was distraught that most the restaurants we wanted to try were booked. For international trips, I tend to trust Trip Advisor more which is how I found Le 114 Faubourg, and I'm so lucky I did! From the second you walk in you know this will be a special meal. The staff is incredibly professional and friendly, and each table is adorned with a beautiful cut flower and rose petals. SO romantic. Here's what we tried: FOOD - 4.5/5 Amuse Bouche- I don't remember what this was to be honest, but I DO remember liking it. A lot. Beef tartare- loved this. Perfectly balanced flavors and acidity with generous portions. It also comes with french fries (haha) Roasted red mullet- this was a recommendation from our waiter, and it was one of the BEST things we ate our entire trip! He mentioned the fish being a bit strong but we thought it was beautiful and delicate. Seriously, you won't regret getting this one! The curried vegetables underneath are just the perfect compliment as well. Ibaïama free range pork rib- this one was HUGE and cut table side. It was very satisfying in a steak-like way. It also comes with super creamy mashed potatoes and a tangy frisee salad. Good but I probably wouldn't order it again, as it didn't blow my palette away and was just satisfying. DESSERT The gave me free macarons with a beautiful tall candle since it was my birthday! And man let me tell you, they were DELICIOUS. So chewy and tasty- the boyfriend ordered I take the second green one home (and he never, ever eats pastries)! WINE Yes...French wine. So obsessed with all the whites I tried! The best part is a of the bubblies and whites are stored in a ice bucket nearby...perfect for speedy refills ;) SERVICE 5.5/5 Our waiter was incredibly attentive and friendly, without disturbing the dining experience. Americans rejoice because pretty much everyone here (and in France in general) is perfectly bilingual, so communicating is easy. And since we bought many plates he also happily split all of our food, and each of our portions were beautifully presented. All in all this was a fantastic and romantic birthday dinner. Definitely recommended if you're in the area and looking for a special meal with a loved one. Thank you Le 114 Faubourg for a fantastic birthday dinner!

My husband and I came on Friday to dinner here. We were a few minutes early, but were seated right away. Service was amazing from all of the staff. We had the artichoke soup and the egg appetizer. The egg one was very light and nice. We both loved the artichoke soup! They brought TINY pizza amuse-bouches. So cute and yummy. The dinner rolls were wonderful! We also ordered the Irish Steak medium rare with layered potatoes. So great! We were looking for a good wine, tasted one, but ended up going with the Coume del Mas. We had the ice cream sampler, flavors were fantastic, especially the passion fruit banana. If you've been to the 808 state, you'd understand about that flavor. I had the house's millefeuille. Fantastic. We were given sweets at the end, shortbread cookies and small chocolates. Really nice. I tried my best French with our server, and she encouraged me to use the menu. I feel like we were rewarded with some more sweets to take home. Wish we could come here again the next time we were in Paris!

    Bread with the butters....

Ok, I wanted to get a classic French meal from a well-known chef, but I only had jeans. This place was perfect. Located in the Hotel Bristol, it is overseen by the same chef that handles the Michelin 3star Epicure in the same hotel. I had the tasting menu for €114, and although it seemed a bit pricey, I can tell you that it was expensive, BUT WORTH IT. From the pink rock salt in the grinder to the option of salted or unsalted butter for the bread, attention to detail was the theme. I started out with a ceramic egg filled with king crab, lemon and green apples. Next was an Artichoke soup with black truffles. After that, Monkfish with carrots, peas, and a spring onion in a sauce of rosemary tomato and Basil. The star of the show was a parmesan encrusted veal Au jus with peas sautéed in butter with bacon. Dessert was some type of napoleon with salted caramel and ice cream. Definitely a top tier meal..... Even in Paris!

Excellent presentation and a wonderful experience. We let the waiter suggest a dish and the sommelier an accompaniment and it was perfect. A little expensive but well worth it, a Michelin restaurant without all the Michelin fuss. Would definitely come back.

We found Le P'tit and when we inquired if they would serve us they said yes if we ordered immediately. It was a few minutes after ten. We ordered at the bar then were seated at our tables. The waitstaff were incredibly nice. They brought whatever we needed including ketchup which, despite being American, we didn't want or need. :) The food was delicious. I had an almost perfect poached egg -just a little too cooked. They had a fair amount of vegetarian options for the person in our party to get a decent meal: eggs, salad and beignets de mozzarella, which I hate to burst your bubble in advance, is a very French and more appealing way to say Mozzarella sticks. They were still good for the record. Perhaps everyone should call them that and aim for that level of taste. Fried just right and a fair amount of cheese. I ordered the duck legs-no complaints there. It was tender and the side of potatoes weren't the top of my list for the evening but there was more than enough of them to share with others. The chocolate fondant was voted best dessert by the table. It won no contest. I'm glad we stopped in for an authentic food experience.

This place was okay, located in the Paris area yet somehow not very accommodating to tourists? So weird. Anyways, my friend and I came in here after a day of traveling and were starving. We wanted something light and decided to try the cheese that everyone talks about, and it was pretty decent. The prices were a bit wild (like everything else in Paris), but I guess that's what we get for stopping into the first place we saw on the street. The menu is pretty eclectic, so don't expect to stop in here with children and be able to get a grilled cheese and fries, it's more of that stuff that people in America eat when they come into some wealth and acquire a new money accent (you know the type).

We booked over the phone while on the Bateaux Mouches river tour as we were tired and hungry after a day of sightseeing and we wanted a neighborhood bistro for great unpretentious food where we could stagger back to our beds around the corner after. It was late when we arrived but the bistro was still bustling, our server was super friendly and the food came super fast, which was great as we were ravenous by then! Excellent food, friendly people, great service - couldn't ask for more, go there! Side note: walking past next day on way to the metro we were in need of a bathroom and the barman was so nice to let me use theirs even tho I'd just walked in off the street: I made sure after to thank him for the amazing dinner night before so he knew I'd been a customer and most important, the loos were nice and clean (again not the standard in much of Paris!) which was great as you know what they say about clean toilets = a clean kitchen!
