Posting an Honest Review, based on recent experience. In full disclosure my wife does not want me to post this, because she is somewhat passive and doesn't want to put more thought into it. I am the opposite and think that a fraudster who preys on women should be revealed. I suspect that there are other victims of bait and switch, but who would rather save "face" and not post their true experiences. My wife was quoted $40 for some repair work on a lock. Guy asked for photos, and to ensure no "surprises" my wife sent photos to ensure he knew exactly what needed to be done.... a rekey on a door lock... pretty basic, right? Price was agreed to, photos were sent, should not have been any surprises. However, when Guy came, all of a sudden the price increased by $100 to $140, OVER 300%! I mean seriously? Guy is a classic fraudster doing a classic Bait and Switch. It could also be that he realized that the customer was an Asian female and hence felt that he could take advantage as most asians are non-confrontational. What's worse is the business had just been broken into (hence the need for a rekey) and he made an already stressful situation worse By price gouging. Of course he waited until he was there to up the price, I mean she really had no other choice because she needed to have the door rekeyed before the business closed. Reminds me of a shady auto repair place that adds unnecessary charges to a bill just because the person doesn't really know or understand what needs to be fixed. In fairness, I will say that he was very timely, he came in less than an 1 hour and completed the job in under 20 minutes. I am just very unsatisfied with his BAIT AND SWITCH tactics. To honest, locksmiths are usually good guys doing mostly DIY locks for people are locked out or need to rekey something. But this guy's a joke. What I like is the fact that no matter the job, he always acts like he is thinking of a fair pricing, but he always charges $90. From rekeying a 2inch hand lock to unlocking your front door. I've called several times for estimates on different things and he always pauses to calculate his prices, that I don't understand. Is there a range of pricing? If he would charge according to lock size instead of a flat rate, which he doesn't state he has a flat rate, I'd respect his hustle. Guy is amazing and very professional! I called him to unlock the door to my bedroom, which my dog happened to lock when she pawed at the door. Guy was here within 40 minutes on a Friday night, and he quickly unlocked the door to let my dog out, and then stayed to make a key and to fix the door, which was sticking, without even being asked.
