Will update when I hear back. Would not recommend SolarMax at this point until they improve their customer service. Look into other companies and their service reviews since you will most likely have to contact them multiple times with questions about the system/billing. They were very prompt and quick with reaching out and getting back to us when they were trying to sell us solar. However, now that we have been customers for years and our sales rep left, it takes multiple calls to even get through to customer service and then multiple follow up calls after since they have to email other departments to get an answer and do not call back. It seems like they are short staffed and for a big company like this should invest in more staff for customer service. That way they can provide the same experience we received in the beginning. It's been almost a month after I initially contacted them and my question still has not been answered. Seems like there is only one customer service rep and she definitely needs help.

It took me 6 mos. to choose the right company for this job because of 41 solar panels in my roof. I had about 14 roofing companies who gave me an estimate and some of them don't do the solar. I did a lot of checking with the companies and I decided to award the project to Elite Roofing, a family owned business, because of the quality of their workmanship, their expertise with the roof and solar, the underlayment they are using, which they explained to me compare to an ordinary felt paper. They even told me that some wood might be in bad shape under the tiles. I was very happy with their work, on time and they clean up at the end of the day. The team worked very precisely to meet the codes and take their time to make sure that no water will leaks to the kitchen and living room ceilings and take pride of their work. The good things about Elite is they have very skilled who are experienced also with solar, all in one company to do the roof and solar. Sun Run was out of the question, and even Tesla themselves weren't able to meet the final project demands when they first designed my system. OC Solar was the only who actually met my needs and were on top of the whole project timeline. Look no further than these guys. Extremely Disappointing Experience ....Do Not Recommend…read more Stay away from this company. Our experience with their planning, installation, communication, knowledge, follow-up, and overall workmanship was extremely disappointing. Our project took more than six months or more to complete, and even after the installation, the problems continued. They left remnants and debris in our backyard that have now been there for two months, and despite our requests, they still have not properly cleaned up. We are now being asked to close their file even though outstanding issues remain. The project itself was poorly managed. Their plans had to be changed half dozen times just to pass inspection, which raised serious concerns about the quality and planning of the work. At this point, we are not even confident that we fully understand what was installed on our roof, and we remain concerned about the possibility of future leaks or other problems related to the installation. They also made a significant mess along the side of our house while installing the lines. We had to specifically point out how bad it looked and insist that they change it. Communication and follow-up were also extremely frustrating. There were times when workers simply did not show up, and the overall experience felt disorganized from beginning to end. After everything we experienced, we cannot recommend this company or anyone associated with them for design or installation work. If you are considering using them, we strongly recommend doing your research and getting multiple opinions before moving forward. Our experience was messy, stressful, poorly managed, and far from what we expected from a professional installation company.

Our first outage was December 23rd while setting up for a Christmas party. Power was out over eight hours. The lights never flickered. I only knew because the app alerted me. Tim included a Solar Insure 30 year warranty covering panels, microinverters, wiring, and roof penetrations, including labor. It's backed by an A+ Superior rated third party insurer and is transferable if I sell my home. An installer's warranty is useless if they go out of business, so this gives real peace of mind. Because I verify everything, I called Solar Insure, Enphase, FranklinWH, and REC directly to confirm Infinity is a Premium or Platinum installer with each. They are. I'll break even in 8 years at current rates, sooner when rates keep climbing, and you know they will. But more than savings, it's peace of mind. When the grid goes down, our house doesn't. Natasha was professional and very clear with communication from the start. She set proper expectations on communication with Tesla would take a week or two. The day she received the go ahead from Tesla she called and scheduled the install asap 4 days out. Later the same day they had a cancellation and were able to get everything scheduled the next day. Anthony and Jeremiah arrived at the beginning of the arrival window! They were professional, great with communication, and ready to work. I had several questions and they were prepared for all of them and super helpful. The battery removal and install took less than an hour. Naturally Tesla's update took twice as long. LOL. Still total time was under 3 hours. I have managed 100s of installers and worked in Solar, this was a fantastic expierence! Because the Tesla 3 has more storage than the 2 I asked about adding some of my Breakers to the back-up and they had options for us to do that. Obviously we Highly Recommend This Team!

Very disappointed with Option One Solar…read more My Tesla Powerwalls & panels aren't producing & storing energy like before & I set up an appointment with Tesla through their app but the next available appointment was Oct 1st?! This was late July when I set up a service call. An over 2 month wait?!? So I got in touch with Option One Solar, to have them service my solar equipment. Setting up the appointment was easy, people on their end booked an appointment for the following Monday & I was charged the service call fee of $500. Ok I guess, I need these Powerwalls & panels looked at & hopefully fixed sooner than the Oct 1 Tesla appointment. My electric bill was $226! Their service guy came out, I told him what was going on/not going on & he looked in the panels, ran diagnostics through his phones informing me that the panels were working, then not working, and working again. He called Tesla support (Tesla installed this system almost 5 years ago). So basically the Tesla support guy on the phone said that Tesla has to come out & look & repair the system since they were the ones that installed it. So there was nothing Option One Solar could do otherwise it would void my warranty. I'm sure Option One Solar is a good company but they really didn't do anything but made a phone call to Tesla to let me know there was nothing they could do & that I would just have to wait till Oct for my Tesla appointment. I understand that the guy came out to diagnose & troubleshoot the problems & yeah I should be charged for his time, but for $500? I called their office to tell them what happened & asked for at least a partial refund since no physical work was done. They said they would put it in their notes & inform the team members. I wish I knew to NOT call them & just waited & I would've saved $500. I reread the contract & yeah it is stated clearly how much their fee is to come & look & troubleshoot & diagnose but that was an expensive phone call to Tesla for them to tell me, sorry you gotta wait, there's nothing we can do. I won't be calling them for any solar services, this experience wasn't a good one for me.

Being abandoned was an issue, as RMA processing for SolarEdge requires an installer to process it. Unbeknownst to the previous owners of my property, the inverter was completely shot and did not have monitoring capability. They processed the RMA for my SolarEdge inverter, installed it once it was here, and also gave me access to SolarEdge monitoring once that was completed. The price was more than fair to do all of the following. They also had great communication throughout the whole process. Highly recommended!
