Guyute's is my favorite bar and restaurant in all of OKC. I'm not sure if I love it because it's walking distance from my house and not much else is or if it is for their food-I guess it's a little bit of both. What is amazing about Guyute's is that as you would expect from a bar, it has good drinks and beers. What you wouldn't expect as much is an amazing rooftop that is the perfect spot for a Sunday Funday brunch or the fact that the food they serve would be so good and have so many vegetarian and vegan options. As a health-conscious person I find most bars in Oklahoma offer limited options-the typical bar food. It's just so nice here that I can have a vegan vegetable wrap. Decided to randomly eat here one evening, but it was a great decision. We sat on the deck and the weather that day was perfect. (The sun was shining into my eyes at some point but that's ok). Saw a recent ad for the Franklin Tower at Guyutes and had to try it. I had not been in a while, but walking in on Friday evening was like walking into your local place. Matthew at the bar was friendly and engaging. When the Franklin Tower arrived, I was not disappointed. Layers of mashed potatoes, spinach and blackened chicken, with fried basil and dragon sauce for a little kick. Worth the drive into the city! read more

This place is Heaven, I went with a few friends and Chelsea was our server! She's so awesome if you go ask for her she'll make sure you tune is great! Perfect conversation and it wasn't too much! Second time here for lunch. Service this time was terrible. They told me they were short staffed in the kitchen, but it looks like they were short on servers as well. My husband and I sat on the rooftop, which was a cool little area. I'm sure it's a great place for late night drinks during the summertime. We tried to order the "Catphish Wontons" as an appetizer, but after waiting about 15-20 minutes, we were told they were out of the wontons. So here's what we did have - THE GUYUTE: Braised Pork Belly topped with Chipotle Honey Glaze and nished with Garlic Basil Whipped Cream; typically served with Holla "Colla" Greens (which I replaced with the 'okra-homa') and Yukon Gold whipped potatoes THE RETURN OF THE MAC: Green Chile Mac 'n Cheese between two Beef Patties topped with Arugula, Tomato Concasse, Shallots and spicy Mayo on a locally made Bun So let's start with the Guyute - the wonton chip with the garlic basil whipped cream on top was completely flavorless. There was no taste to it and was like eating watered down cream. Lack of flavor was the same with the okra-homa and the potatoes. It may have been fine if they just added some salt. The pork belly was okay. There was some flavor to it, but not enough to balance out the rest of the flavorless dish. The Return of the Mac - actually no complaints here. Overall a pretty good dish with lots of flavor. I had a Groupon, so I wasn't too sad about coming here, but I've read a few of the recent Yelp reviews with some of the same issues with service and food, so I will not be coming back anytime soon. Not much too say. Food was pretty ok, honestly the service is what really sucked. Walked up too the bar the bartender was eating handed me menus and said if you want too order your server will be with you soon. Ok so why are you at the bar? If your on break go too the back or something. So we sat waited a bit then our waitress came over, she was fairly nice. She did yell at her coworker from across the bar saying "if you don't get me the right cigarettes I'm not paying you" we are all trying to enjoy our dinner we don't need employees yelling across the bar. We had one drink each some appetizers then as she walked by we told her we were ready too order. She walks away and comes back a few minutes later with the check.... I told her we said we were ready too order. After she had an attitude. I was excited too try this place but fell far short from what I expected. The service was really great, and most of the food we had was pretty good! The atmosphere is really laid back, there's kind of a festival-kid kind of vibe going on. My husband and I got "The Return of the Mac" and the "Disco Biscuit" and some waffle fries. Incredible customer service! My boyfriend and I have been coming to this restaurant for a while and love the food. Today, I we went in and after 20mins we started to wonder why our food was taking a bit. Which was usual. A minute later the manager came to us and apologized because our order got mixed up or something random. To make our experience better they gave us an amazing appetizer free of cost and also covered the cost of our meal. The best thing about this place is the rooftop. Rooftop bars are hard to come across in okc. The drinks are pretty good. The food is ok but nothing to write home about. Guyutes is never really a place any of my friends ever suggest which is a shame since it's less than a half mile down the street from me. They host a spelling bee weekly which we stumbled into once and may be worst checking out. This wouldn't be my first time going to Guyutes, I'm going to be honest I didn't really like it the first time I went and really didn't plan on coming back so therefore no review. This past Sunday a friend suggested we go there for brunch and I obliged because at the time I was desperately hungry and they have amazing vegetarian/vegan options. To get to the point they have an entire brunch menu which all looked amazing but everything was meat ridden. After a few looks at the menu I decided to go with the Tequila Sunfryzs and for go the pork for their black bean purée that they usually put on their burritos. Our server was absolutely amazing and I hate that I forgot his name. (Caucasian brown hair in a pony tail few tattoos). Although he's never had that request he made sure it got done and less than 15 minutes later I received my food and it was GREAT. On top of the amazing service and the pleasant modification to my food he told us mimosa carafes were only 10 dollars each! The stoplight app of guac, queso and salsa is a great starter, especially if you can catch it on happy hour. Now, a little word to the wise -- this menu might not be accommodating to all kids. Mine are good with the tequila sun freyz minus jalapeños or a few of their pizzas. That would be the only detractor if you are dining with kids. Everything we have ever gotten has been delightful. Biggest recommendations are the Disco Biscuit and the Walfredo Pizza. The decor is wonderful. Feels like a hip SF dive. And weather permitting, they have the coolest rooftop bar. This place is a new favorite when I'm visiting Oklahoma! I had the catphish wontons which were pretty good, if thats your thing. Served hot with a very zesty dipping sauce. They came out suprisingly fast, and had a very unique flavor. For the main course I had the disco busicut. It was really fire. It reminded me alot of a kinda zesty chicken and waffles with spicy/sweet mustard substituted deliciously for syrup. It was really amazing considering I was unsure as to how it would actually taste. It was actually recommended to me by my server. I dont remember her name, but I know that she had green hair! She was very attentive, sweet, and anticipated refills before I asked for them. I find it a rare occasion that a bar/restaurant can make me fall in love. Guyutes I knew from the crush I had on you when I first stepped onto that rooftop last fall we had something going. I tried the namesake first and loved it, I've since tried the entire menu or at least close to it. While some dishes outweigh the others (I can't stop eating the return of the Mac, ) I genuinely enjoy aspects of every dish. Your menu isn't what kills it at this bar though. The food is amazing, but the concept and the friendly faces making it happen transport you to another place. Guyutes is what okc has needed for years. The rooftop patio is perfect for a cold beer and an Oklahoma sunset in what feels like an Austin bar. The music offers an eclectic variety of jams played by excellent speakers and they play it loud too. The downstairs is covered in all the epic adventures their staff/owners have gone on in the form of awesome show posters. The bartenders are all down to earth, friendly, and prompt.
