Recently went to Guyutes with my boyfriend because it was one of the only places around open after 11pm. We ate upstairs in the patio and there happened to be a World Cup game going on so they had it projected onto the patio wall, which was super fun. The service was slow although our waiter was nice. He seemed to be running around upstairs and downstairs while other servers were just upstairs. The menu was confusing if you've never been before. A friend and I decided that 1 AM was a great time to eat dinner unfortunately for us this place was open. This place offered outside seating that was located upstairs or indoor seating, my friend and I decided to eat indoor since it was chilly outside. Based off first impression, this place was pretty cool, definitely a themed restaurant that even reflected on their servers. I forgot the name of our waitress, but she was very nice and obviously knew it was our first time here. Had a bar set up, tables, and high tops. Start off our meal with the tequila Sunfryze, basically a loaded waffle fry dish topped with a fried egg. I don't know about you guys, but I love me some fries and this was perfect perfection for me. Portion was very generous. I got the Firenze pizza, something I never had before and probably wouldn't get again. Not that it wasn't good, but it just wasn't something that I would choose over and over. My friend got the creamy broccoli rigatoni, which surpassed my dish in flavor. Really disappointed with my last visit. The new broccoli rigatoni was shockingly small for $17 -- about 11 pieces of pasta and barely any broccoli. The garlic donut was raw in the middle, and the cheese cracker was soft and chewy instead of crisp. Overall, the dish felt very low effort and overpriced. Service wasn't much better. Drinks (just beers) were taking 10+ minutes even though the place wasn't busy, and the waiter had to repeatedly remind the bartender. I used to come here all the time, but the experience has gone downhill. Even past interactions with ownership left a bad impression -- when I once asked about carrying Yuengling, I was told they'd "never carry that fad beer," which felt unnecessarily dismissive. Guyutes is described as an Elevated Street Food restaurant. I did find this this place quite interesting but definitely not my atmosphere or style of food. However, our group of six decided this was the place we were going to have dinner So who am I to argue, I'll always try a place once. One quick thing I liked was the touchless menu, a quick scan of the QR code and you are reading the menu! The Appetizers were quite interesting and ultimately we choose the Orka-home and the Tequila Sunfryz. The okra did not deliver. I expected the okra to be more on the crispier side and they weren't. I think the group agreed with me since there were some left on the plate. Not the same for the Tequila Sunfryz - they were a huge hit! The plate was demolished in no time! The only thing I would recommend is to have the fried egg cooked just a bit longer so it wasn't snotty. Besides that it was a great concept. This is as pace I think I could return for and have on the patio with a cold drink! There were definitely decisions to be made in the entree selection. Our server described the special of the day - a grilled cheese sandwich on rye bread and that was between two burgers that wasn't for me. I picked The Strange Design - it consisted of smoked bacon, Geona salami, lettuce, tomato, red onion, with the house guacamole, spicy mayo, inside a spinach tortilla. Not to brag but I think I made the best selection! I also added onion rings and I gotta admit those were crispy & tasty To be honest I almost chose The Guyute which one in our group did and he throughly enjoyed. Overall each meal came uniquely prepared and actually was quite interesting to eat! Among my favorite Guyutes highlights would be the Sweet Pete cocktail(did not get a picture sadly, but it was phenomenal), tequila sunfryz(but honestly I have yet to find an appetizer there that would ever disappoint), and the chimi-choroo smothered in Queso! Talk about a deluxe meal! Their space is wonderful, we spent hours hanging out and visiting with old friends, never once felt rushed or like we were in the way, that's always appreciated! Heading back to Dallas, we stopped in for a late night bite on a Sunday night around 10:30pm. Worth it! Worth it! Worth it! Really great service from the moment we walked in! Always come to this place for a great rooftop option but not today. Asked if it would be okay to be seated on the rooftop which was immediately frowned upon by the host seating us as he did not want to go 'up and down the stairs' he said.
