Where to start? Hey, I know it's July in Oklahoma but you really need to get those air-conditioners running. I was there last Saturday with a couple of friends and I was actually embarrassed that I might be misting them with my flop sweat. It should be pointed out that I'm not a heavyset fellow and certainly not a normally sweaty dude, so this really was cause for alarm. The music is rather nightmarish. People are already screaming at each at the same table in order to be heard over the people screaming at each other at the next table, so adding 40 decibels of background "ambiance" ain't helping nobody, I don't care how big a Phish fan you are. If you like your wait staff to resemble people who take their jobs seriously because they are determinedly working their way though college, or because they were taught a modicum of traditional, good work ethic, you need to keep stepping. This is a place where the dividing line between the people who work the bar and the people who live in the alley behind it is invisible. Seriously, take a shower and have a shave for gods sake. And that's just the girls. The guys don't realize that looking like a Swedish vagrant and smelling like the backseat of a taxi went out in 2012. But I digress. The food is bar food, what can I say? It's as good as anybody's I reckon. The Traffic Light is my go-to appetizer, the perfect compliment to whatever I'm drinking, which is usually an overpriced imported beer. The guacamole is better than it has a right to be. (Hence, the two star review) The titles of the dishes are queasily pretentious in that hipper-than-your-daddy's-hangout kind of way, but who cares? What I ordered: I came here over lunch and order the Pork Tornado. The Good: A very unique atmosphere. With the band posters and borderline hippy vibe, I could see the appeal of this place to some folks. The Bad: The food. The meat was overcooked to the point where I could not eat (or cut) most of it. It was slathered in way too much sauce such that the pork, the rice, everything tasted like the sauce. The restrooms: Are they really playing a track of cats fighting and people farting in the restroom? Really? I shudder to think who their target market is, but I am clearly not it. Fantastic, (highly) elevated pub/comfort food and excellent service in a fun, hip atmosphere. Phish (the hippie jam band) themed decor and awesome music selection makes for a perfect after-work or late night hang destination. Top floor patio is one of the best in OKC too. Sitting down and being overtly ignored by staff for 10 minutes is pretty unforgivable. Finally just walked out in frustration without ever even being acknowledged. Sat directly in front of the bar, again, for approximately 10 minutes, making eye contact with staff, just wondering "wtf?" as they breezed right by time and time again. The food is tastey, but not worth giving them a second chance after some BS like this. The place smells like sweat, but I came on a day where it was almost 110 degrees outside. My party got the fries as appetizers which was good and able to feed 6 of us. I got the franklin's tower which was basically chicken and mashed potatoes. Very good. Also had the Austin eastciders blood orange beer and their sweet Pete cocktail. Both were also very good. My friend had the disco biscuit which was basically chicken fried chicken on a couple biscuits. The chicken was good, but she said the biscuits were kind of dry. read more

Came here one night for an evening out with my cousins. It was a nice night out (a couple months back) so we decided to hang out on the rooftop bar. A very laid back place with pretty darn good food and a large selection of beer. We ordered the Tequila Sunfryz to share because a couple of other tables had ordered it and so glad we did. This is a 3.75 star review, but not quite 4 due to a few issues. I had lunch with a buddy at Guyutes on a Thursday around noon. There were only a few tables seated, maybe 4, and another 1 or 2 came in while we were eating. So, not busy at all. It is pretty dark in there, I saw one guy use a cell phone as a light to order. We should have dined on the famous rooftop patio I suppose since it was during the day. Guyutes has a cool vibe with concert posters and music stuff kind of all over the place. Our table top was a picture of Kurt Cobain, for instance. Service was spotty throughout the lunch. Like I said, it wasn't crowded, but our server would disappear for awhile. It was like he was doing another job somewhere, maybe getting ready for the dinner, I don't know. And, the kitchen wasn't helping apparently. We ordered the catphish wontons to start. No issue getting them, they came in the appropriate amount of time. I also ordered the disco biscuit and a side of creamed corn for my lunch. Well, after approximately 15 minutes, our server came back. He then told me the kitchen had just told him they were out of creamed corn. I thought this was something that should have been said as soon as he put the order in, rather than when our food should be arriving. He recommended an alternative side, the okra. I went with that, but I think he recommended it because it was the quickest to prepare of all the side dishes. It also took a few minutes to get our check, which was a little annoying since it was lunchtime on a weekday, and we needed to get back to work. The catphish wontons were a disappointment. The chili sauce on the side is great, very flavorful with a little heat. But, the wonton filling had very little catfish. I mostly got cream cheese, with a couple of small pieces. Overall, it tasted like a cream cheese wonton with the spicy oil. That in and of itself is good, but I didn't get any catfish flavor, which I wanted. When the food arrived, it was hot, so it didn't appear as though it had been sitting on a counter waiting to be picked up. The chicken breast on the disco biscuit was large with a crunchy breading. But, it was overfried. The breading was too dark, and had a slight acrid taste in a few spots. It's a large enough piece of chicken, and had it been fried a shorter period, I can see it being very good. It did need salt, the breading wasn't seasoned sufficiently. The biscuit was fantastic. It's very large, and thick, but wasn't overly so. It's described as a cheddar biscuit in the menu, but I didn't get any cheddar flavor. That may be because the chicken and spicy honey butter overpowered it. But, it was a great biscuit, slightly crispy on the exterior, fluffy interior, and it soaked up the honey butter very well. That honey butter is legit. I wouldn't call it spicy, but it was certainly very good. I would do just the biscuit and honey butter as a side dish on a return visit. The okra was very strong. It was grilled enough, but not overly so. I am guessing that's because they had to hurry and get it out to us after our wait. The lemon pepper aioli was a nice dipping sauce as well. I was disappointed not to get the creamed corn, but this okra was a great dish and a re-order. I will definitely return, but I didn't have the experience I've heard others describe. I want to try one of the wraps, my buddy got one and it looked great. Also, I need to try those ridiculous waffle fries, there are a bunch of pictures on Yelp and they look fantastic. So, I'll definitely be back, and hopefully I can update this review to 4 stars shortly thereafter... read more

Fantastic place! We started with the Tequila Sunfryz; definitely made to share--waffle fries loaded with delicious ingredients like queso, pulled pork and a fried egg. I had the Return of the Mac burger--rather, burgers sandwiching mac n cheese. The locally made bun was soft and the burgers were flavorful and cooked perfectly. Great service, too. I will preface by saying the food is good. It's not my favorite place but good. However, the whole experience when dining in is kind of weird. The doors are not marked well so you don't know where to enter. If you enter in the north door there is no hostess stand. We got seated and then 10 minutes later my party of 7 got moved by the waiter across the restaurant and given a different server. The wait staff was really nice but didn't know about the menu. My sister had her engagement party on their rooftop deck. It was the second time I have been here, and won't be the last! First off, their deck is awesome! You have a great view on the deck/balcony. It has such a great ambiance and feels very cool. They play a really good mix of music and have a cool bar up there. They have a tv up there as well, which was nice since it was a game day! Their food. Their food is amazing! They have everything you would want from a restaurant, all with a unique twist. I recommend their sunny side up fries and their chicken biscuit. It's a very fun menu and it's hard to choose what to get because you kind of want it all, so I recommend sharing a lot of different things. I also appreciate how they have so many healthy options as well. It makes it easy to please everyone. Their prices are great with a wide selection of drinks. The food was terrible. We started off with the 'traffic light' (salsa, queso, guac) by the time it came out the queso was cold and had a weird smokey taste, but tasted almost burnt and wasn't good. We then got the catfish wontons which weren't good at all. I don't know why they say catfish because it was straight cream cheese with no taste of anything else. By that time I couldn't even order a main course because nothing seemed appealing. My friend got one one of the pizzas which was really small and tasted okay. Fun resultant to try. Great location with a great rooftop patio. I've only been once - but need to go back and try more dishes. I order 'The Pip' last time I was there - a cheeto crusted chicken breast wrap. It was good, VERY interesting unusual sandwich wrap. It was good, but I'd order something else next time I go. Another thing - another member of our party ordered a Bloody Mary and had to send it back as it was WAY too spicy for her liking. I've been to Guyutes 4 times now and think it's just a pretty decent restaurant. The food isn't terrible, but I can't sit here and admit that I'd recommend any of their dishes to anyone, other than their waffle fries, which are pretty tasty. The drinks aren't bad, but once again... there isn't a drink that I would just have to recommend to anyone. The service has been among the most hit or miss of any place I've been to in OKC. It's never been great and a couple of times it was just down right atrocious.With that being said, it's a little better during non-peak times. The rooftop is really neat and is among the better rooftops to drink at in OKC. If you're just looking for a place to tip back a few drinks, Guyutes is a decent place, but I wouldn't look for anything more than that. read more

Had the pleasure of enjoying this new hot spot last Friday for my girlfriends Birthday dinner. Excellent laid back environment, background music was on point. The food was amazing. I love the references in the menu I.e. " bowl of greens" " disco biscuit". I ate the Wu-Plantang which was a deliciously pieced together wrap. Girl friend had The Pip that was quite tasty as well.we split waffle fries and it was sufficient. Gotta try the curry ketchup with them . Her friend had the walfredo pizza which I actually liked and I usually don't do white sauce pizzas. The beer menu is quite extensive. As of 4/1/2018: I LOVE this place. They have multiple vegan options which NONE OF THEM DISAPPOINT! I come here quite frequently and I love the vibe still to this day! 9/10 every single time I order something it is amazing! Everyone has a right to their off days but that doesn't happen often here and if there's ever a problem they are always up to fix it which means they have 5 stars in customer service! They do have additional parking near the side and back so don't let the first parking option scare you because this place stays pretty packed! Full bar gives this place a major plus! It's a laid back vibe that many come with their friends and enjoy any day! They were open during Easter and their normal hours are perfect for anyone who likes to eat late like me. I personally recommend "peace in the Middle East" and there sides are amazing! Definitely in my top favorite 3 restaurants. I really don't like leaving negative reviews but our experience was just not good. I knew service was low here because I have been to guyutes about 4 times but it took our waitress 30 minutes before taking our order. When she arrived at the table, she said "Do you you all need a couple more minutes to decide?" Our food took another 30 minutes... There were only 3 other tables of people in the restaurant so I couldn't understand why service was so slow. Our waitress was chatting with another waitress the whole time, which I wouldn't normally mind... I'm not someone that complains normally. I love casual atmospheres but this was just ridiculous. This place was great! Had five or six really interesting, yet appetizing items on the menu I struggled to choose between. Choose the Tequila Sunfryz with help from the waitress. They may be waffle fries instead of chips, but these were the best nachos I've had in some time. I also tried the Violent Pimm and Irish Lemonade cocktails - both great! While I appreciate the effort put forth to provide a late night vegan option, I've got a few stems to pick.... First and foremost, the hipster douche​ that works the bar needs to realize that customer service is supposed to be an amicable interaction. Not greeting the folks who enter with a head nod as if your college roommate just entered the dorm disrupting your attempt to impress some pseudo-goth wannabe punk rocker sluts with your ultra cool dgaf attitude. Secondly, even when You're bringing bland food to a couple of picky vegans who ask for additional items or substitutions, you're still getting paid to do so. Here's a little hint: if u act like it is pleasurable to be at your place of employment, your patrons will be more likely to enjoy themselves thus increasing your tip average. Just in case that was too complex for someone so cool to keep interested IF YOU ARE NICE TO CUSTOMERS THEY WILL GIVE YOU MORE MONEY. After about an hour of listening to Phish without receiving my food I was admittedly a little peeved. I got up from my seat upstairs and headed down to check with our totally complacent server. I asked him if he was aware that we'd moved upstairs. With a blank stare as if I were some kind of inconvenience he responded with the exuberence of a sloth "yes." To this I said thanks as he ignored me and turned his back to me. The vegan food was common hippy food like one would find in the cooler of some kid who's been selling wraps on tour for ticket money. Not sure why I expected a Phish head to have good taste. I can make better food in the same amount of time on a camp stove with nothing but a pot and some chopsticks. Nice happening restaurant. Spent my time downstairs. I went upstairs but it was packed. Looked fun though. Downstairs was fun as well and what I liked was the concert they had on TV which was being pumped through the house sound system. We talked loud, drank beer, listened to music and people watched. Food was awesome. We took our time because the menu is creative and fun. We were not disappointed. I got the Return of the Mac hamburger and it was really different and very good. Our waitress was fun, nice and informative but the service was slow. Probably because there new and the place was packed. When we did get our food it was piping hot. My husband and I tried Guyutes this week and were underwhelmed. The location is in a trendy area and the rooftop bar is really awesome. I will return here, but mostly because I enjoyed being on the rooftop. The restaurant boasts elevated street food, but IMHO it's okay. We started with the Okra-homa which arrived lukewarm. The okra could have definitely been grilled or even charred a little bit more, the seasoning was nonexistent and the dipping sauce was nothing special. I had Story of the Pear which included a poached pear (flavorless), arugula with dressing that also lacked any flavor, and yummy pecans with delicious blue cheese. All of the ingredients were of good quality. Not enough was done to them and the dish didn't seem to pair well with its parts. Maybe if the dressing had more to it I would have enjoyed the salad more. My husband ordered the The Poutine. If you have never had poutine before it is a deliciously terrible for you dish commonly found in Canada. I only had one bite of the wrap and it was (like everything else) okay.
