Ordered salmon and came burned black. Not too appetizing m too busy to pay attention on cooking. Today company lunch

    Karage 2 tier bento

Super worth it for 20 dollars for the 2 tier bento. I love the fresh ingredients they use and their well packaged lunches. They also have good parking since it's not a busy area hidden in the fashion/arts district. It's more of a pick up spot but there's actually seating inside as well. I also noticed that the prices when ordering online are 2-3 dollars more expensive so I recommend actually going in and ordering it there since it's cheaper. I got their spicy karage 2 tier lunch box and absolutely devoured it. It can definitely be a meal that can be split because there's a ton of rice and I was so full after. A side dish I want to high light is their potato egg salad which I really enjoyed and their miso cured egg yolk that paired well with the rice. All their marinated and picked veggies paired really well with the rice. The purple picked veggies were very spicy though. The karage was spicy and crispy. I will say that it was just a little overdone for my liking since there was a bitter taste but that could have been coming from the seasoning so I think next time I'll just get the soy glaze instead. I definitely recommend this spot for a nice Japanese style lunch.

I'm honestly very shocked by how much I liked the curry. I opted for the vegetarian option, called roasted veggie kare, which included onions, carrots, celery, and zucchini. A typical Japanese curry features potatoes and carrots, but there were no potatoes at all. In its place was a surplus of onions. It was too much to the point where I had to throw it away. The food came out hot and fresh and the ratio of curry to rice wasn't bad. I liked that it came with a dollop of potato salad and pickled veggies to cut the strong flavor of the curry. Guzzu Bento-ya is the definition of a hidden gem because it looks so unassuming from the outside. A big bonus is that there's a parking lot available right in front. It's an order-first and find-your-seat-after type of place. We came as a group of 5 and there was a large, beautiful table in the center that was able to seat all of us with room to spare. There are also several other smaller tables along the wall, so plenty of dining space.

Not sure how this place does not have more customers! It should be blowing up on tiktok and the foodie spot lists. I've lived throughout LA the last 10 years and today was the first time stopping by. The only people who seem to frequent this place are workers nearby on lunchtime or company catering or doordash deliveries. You should come and eat here! Amazing quality and affordable bento with different protein selections. It's actually probably the best I've had in LA. You have all these mediocre spots in places with high foot traffic like Little Tokyo and Grand Central Market serving up mediocre Japanese food and then there's places like this with barely any customers. It's a shame!

Miso Katsu Pork Premium Bento 5/5 Grilled Chicken Premium Chicken 5/5 Service 5/5 Overall 5/5 I've been wanting to order a bento box from here for ages - and I finally got to try today! The food is delicious and beautifully prepared. Guzzu Bento-ya is hidden amongst the warehouses of the Arts District. They are only open for lunch. There's a nice dining area inside but I took the bento boxes to go. The next time I order I think I'll bring the bento boxes to a spring picnic at LA State Historic Park. The staff pack the bento boxes neatly with everything you need for a picnic (utensils and napkins). Each bite was flavorful and fresh - exquisitely seasoned. I loved all the veggies and the potato salad that came with the premium bento box. I want to try the Spicy Karaage next time.

Good food & portions for affordable prices, but its located in a bad area with very little parking. Food came out relatively quick and the meat was super tasty. Not too much seating inside and all self service. Staff was friendly. Overall the location was not inviting and its an odd place to have a restaurant. Id come here again if it was located elsewhere.

This restaurant is tugged away from major street but they have very nice interior decoration and tasty food. I ordered 2- tiers plate with grilled fish. It was recommended and did not disappoint. Fish was fresh and cooked to perfection. Side dishes were also amazing. Highly recommended.

I ordered this via delivery, so this review will be based on that instead of eating at the location, and I am honestly blown away. Even though I didn't eat at the actual shop, the delivery presentation was really well done. I ordered the premium chicken bento, and the presentation was impressive. It comes in a two-tier setup where the chicken and rice are in one section and all the veggies and sides are in another. It felt very high-end for a delivery meal. The chicken was incredibly juicy and flavorful. I really appreciated the sauce they used because it wasn't that overly sweet, generic teriyaki stuff you find at most places. It had a great balance, smoky flavor, and worked so well with the rice and chicken. The sides were just as good as the main course. The veggies were super crisp and fresh. I loved the potato salad and the pickled cabbage, but the standout for me was the savory, soy-infused potatoes. This is easily one of the best delivery meals I've had in the last 30 days. I highly recommend giving them a try. I'm definitely going to be ordering from here again soon to have my whole office try it out because this place is too good.

Finally tried guzzu bento-ya after having it on my list for years and really enjoyed it! I tried the wild salmon premium bento box and was pleasantly surprised at all the things it came with! Super easy to order ahead online and food was ready when I arrived to pick up the next day. There's a few parking spots in front of the restaurant. Everything was well packed and such a delight to eat! I'll definitely return for the bento boxes!

I wish I'd found out about this place sooner!! We were looking for something we could order/pick up easily. The online ordering process was smooth/easy. And so happy we chose here...Such a solid bento with amazing sides. My sister got the mackerel and I got the chicken premium. She loved it! Great char, deboned (mostly? She found 1 bone haha), she loved the potato salad. My chicken was charred, juicy and quite a lot! I loveeee the sides: carrots, pickled cabbages, potato salad, tofu, sweet potato, broccoli. Honestly I really couldn't fault any of them and loved them all. Tofu was so saturated with flavor, the cabbages and carrots were good to eat with the chicken as it brought some acid, and the sweet potato (my fav) I saved for the end as a dessert! I've read some reviews that said it's a bit pricey but honestly, with the prices these days, theirs is just right for the quality they give ALSO the aesthetic! From the outside, I was confused where we were, but so discombobulating when you step in haha what a reflection of DTLA.

Umm what a gem! This place is a little isolated around the arts district? and I couldn't have been more happy to have tried it. My friend and I decided to get lunch after our morning lagree at Lagree213 and I'm so glad she recommended this place! I got the Salmon premium bento and wow the flavors were soo good. I loved every little side dish that came on in the second tier, especially the caramelized sweet potato. I would go here again and dine in the next time I'm in the area because the place actually looked super cute with a large communal table and seats all around. What a great lunch spot! The cashier was very prompt and helpful as well. Overall, 10/10 would come again!

Best lunch spot in LA! The inside is super cute and hip. It's such a cool hangout spot. The bento boxes have so much food and each one is filled with so many yummy sides. My go to favorite is their curry. It is honestly the best curry out there. Nothing really compares. The service is top notch too. Everyone is so helpful and kind!

Here's what we tried: KFC (Korean fried chicken)- very tasty and crispy. Chicken was moist and it came with a sweet/garlic dipping sauce. Plus a side of radish. High‑end feel without the high‑end attitude. Let's talk about the food. Filipino Fusion Done With Swagger Ribeye Salpicao, This dish is straight-up dangerous. Tender ribeye cubes seared with garlicky, buttery goodness, the kind of salpicao that makes you rethink every bite you have. Rich, savory, and addicting. If you don't guard your plate, someone at the table will steal a piece. "Because I know I would!" Rockfish Pritong, it was crispy on the outside, flaky on the inside, and seasoned like someone's Filipino auntie whispered the secrets of life into the batter. Bright, punchy flavors with that perfect crunch. Definitely a sleeper hit. Crispy Duck Pancit, This one is wild, pancit with a crispy duck twist that somehow feels both comforting and elevated. The noodles soak up all that savory duck richness, and the crispy skin on top. Wow, a moment of silence for how good that bite is. Papaya Salad, so fresh, bright, and refreshing. A perfect palate reset between the heavier dishes. Crunchy, citrusy, and balanced, the kind of salad that actually earns its spot on the table. Grilled Eggplant Salad, smoky, silky eggplant with a char that tastes like it came straight off a backyard grill in Manila. Light but flavorful, and a great contrast to the richer plates. Pasta Palabok, a true Filipino classic reimagined. Creamy, savory palabok sauce wrapped around pasta instead of noodles, bold move, but it works. The textures are luxurious, and the flavors stay true to the original. Tare Tare Tamale, definitely one of the most creative dishes of the night. A fusion tamale with tare flavors that hit sweet, salty, and umami all at once. Soft masa, rich filling, and a flavor combo that makes you pause mid‑bite. "Mmmm hmmm!" Hamachi, so clean, fresh, and beautifully plated. The kind of hamachi that melts instantly and makes you feel fancy even if you're wearing sneakers. Of course I had my dress shoes on. We had the kimchi carbonara, Korean fried chicken, mentaiko pasta, and uni pasta. Out of all the pastas, my favorite was definitely the kimchi bacon udon carbonara. The uni and mentaiko pastas were also good, although I remember them being a little salty. My friend got the corn cheese for $16, which is lowkey expensive for what it is, and honestly, it tasted like any other corn cheese. The stir-fried baby octopus with pork belly was another standout and one of our favorites! They also have a seafood boil, which we definitely want to try next time we're in town. They're open pretty late too, so I highly recommend checking this place out! Just a heads-up: parking is valet, and there can sometimes be a wait on weekends.

We ordered the soy garlic wings, pasta mentaiko, and garlic noodles with shrimp, and honestly, we enjoyed everything we got. The pasta mentaiko was definitely my favorite! It was super creamy and tasted even better once everything was mixed together. I'd definitely order it again. Parking is valet, but thankfully it's only $5, which I thought was pretty reasonable. There are also a few other stores located in the same plaza, so there's plenty around the area. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and did a great job hosting our large group. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu!
