    Fishcake stew

came for a late night snack and it definitely hit the spot. Loved how the outdoor seating was set up. It was a bit cold but there was a heater shared between some tables. we got the bulgogi bulgogi fries and combo c (fish cake stew and rose dukboki) which came with a bottle of soju. Our favorite out of the 3 items was the rose dukboki, it was very flavorful and the spice was just right. I think doing one of the combos will be your best option if you are dining with a group. Plus you can always add more if someone wants something more specific. Will have to come back and try their other menu items.

They say that Anju House serves serves Korean bar food with beer, soju, and cocktails, but it is so much more. They have some of the best Korean food and I swear some of it reminds me of Italian food. You can get small bites, order a bunch of stuff and share or order a full meal. It is all great. There is nothing not to like and you will be happy. The service is great. They are kind and will explain the menu to you. They get your order right and are all smiles. Now, it can get very crowded at night and I don't know if they take reservations so call and find out. We have been several times and have done take away a few times when it is crowded. Either way, you will get great service and be happy. The place is super clean and really pretty. It is very comfortable. They have a full bar and Anju refers to food that is consumed with alcohol, but we have never had a drink there. It is a tad pricey, but the food is worth it always. We love their calamari and their noodles and any shrimp dish is the best. They have things I had never tried before. Just ask the server and you will be guided.

Anju House is a Korean fusion casual dining restaurant. They are open late most days of the week, it is busy during typical dining hours & less so 10pm to close. I've visited this business a few times and will be a continuing patron. The food was delicious, of note I've tried all of the Dukboki variants and although all of them were tasty and reflective of their names - the Rose Dukboki takes the cake for me. Korean fried chicken was crispy without being overly oily, it held a great balance of crunchy texture while expressing its Korean spice blend. Kimchi Bacon Pasta is definitely their top hits - recommended if you enjoy a creamy pasta base. This is a great option to dine in for those late-night cravings! Of note: there is valet parking which is $5 (at the time of writing this review) - they accept cash or digital payment. Otherwise street parking is your route (keep in mind that Koreatown is not known for readily available street parking).

Anju House is charming. Walking in feels like a treasure hunt, there's so much to look at. Our table was decorated with rapper memorabilia, which was a fun touch. Since the seating is semi-outdoors, they even brought out a mini fan to keep flies away, which is very thoughtful of them. The service was prompt. The food, though, was hit or miss. We ordered the Asado combo (salad, cheese corn, fries) for about $100. The meat was tender and well-marinated, but not as juicy as expected. The dipping sauce tasted like a worchestire heavy katsu sauce. The gopchang was the weakest dish, some pieces were overly salty, others bland, and the portion felt small for the price. Clam chowder was just okay, nothing memorable. Overall, the pricing doesn't match the food quality. but the vibe alone makes it worth checking out.

The vibes here are 10/10 and so is the food. The crowd favorite was the kimchi bacon pasta. The pork belly and kimchi isn't as good as normal bossam but it does the job. The menu is so extensive i definitely need to come back to try more items. If you have a large group I would highly recommend coming here !

Two Letter Word: Seafood + Risotto Ever since watching Gordon Ramsay yelling at his new peons for making sure to get the risotto right on Hell's Kitchen a decade or two ago, I've made it my mission to order risotto if it's ever offered at any restaurant. Anju House was no different. Ordered this dish as a late add on, and clearly this was the winner amongst their bulgogi bibimpap, crispy garlic gopchang, and pork belly kimchi. Now I did enjoy the pork belly though, that's one dish you can't really screw up. But overall that was my takeaway from this restaurant...get the risotto. It's good. Strawberry Yakult Soju? Great drink starter, but we stayed with one pitcher, after all the beers at the Dodger Mets Game. Ambiance at to the Anju House is hipsterish. A blend of a Pubhouse with a Korean Pocha. Great concept. I thought at first I walked into Cafe Concierto from Christmas past. Last thoughts, definitely a good food & Soju house spot nestled in a subtle alleyway on Oxford in Korea Town. Great find!

I wish I found this place sooner, but it's definitely going to be a staple in my LA dinners! The selection here is amazing and the food makes it even better. My big group shared a few dishes, but the ones that stood out were Kimchi and Pork Belly, Kimchi Bacon Pasta, Rose Tteokboki and Bulgogi Fries. I swear our table ordered multiple rounds of the same dishes! The pork belly was seasoned well with the sauces and the pasta was so creamy. If you're looking for a comfort pocha vibes, this is the spot for you and your friends. There's also a cute photobooth in the corner!

Ok went there because it was open late and looking at pictures from Yelp, it looked good. It's more of a hang out for young folks. I think the dishes were over priced from the portion it gives. Taste was just ok. Not that impressive. They have a Photo Booth where you can pay $10 for 2 strips of pictures.

Came in here for a last minute dinner and it was so good! We got seated pretty quickly even though it was a weekend. Our waitress was super helpful and attentive he would always come by and check up on us. The vibes here were pretty cool I love how it gives outdoor dining. They also had this photo booth my friends and I couldn't get enough of. This place is pretty cool I totally recommend it if you're in the area.

kimchi bacon pasta and OG fried chicken with (bomb) onion leek salad
    Robin R.

my friend brought me here and i'm not gonna lie, i had pretty high expectations considering how hyped this place is and the fact that there was a waitlist when we arrived. i ordered the kimchi bacon pasta, which apparently is their MOST popular dish, so maybe my expectations were too high. but as someone who loves both pasta and kimchi, this just did not hit for me. the kimchi had this slightly bitter taste that kept throwing me off and the whole dish ended up feeling underwhelming. halfway through eating it i was already thinking i should've trusted my instincts and ordered the seafood cream linguini or the shrimp gochujang butter pasta instead. those honestly sound way more promising. my friend ordered the OG fried chicken, and i genuinely need to know why it was all breast meat? for a place like this, i expected amazing korean fried chicken, but the pieces leaned dry and didn't have that juicy crispy payoff i was hoping for. the onion leek salad that came with the chicken honestly ended up being my favorite thing on the table, which i wasn't expecting at all! overall, i personally think the place is overhyped for the quality, especially at those prices. would i come back? probably not.

Came to Anju House around 7 and was surprisingly easy to find parking in the neighborhood. Like other review suggested, don't park in the apparent parking lot next to it. Chill and lively ambiance. Sort of like an indoor-outdoor space. Very airy. Ordered chili shrimp, galbi, bulgogi and takoyaki. Generic but well done dishes. Can't find fault with them, but also nothing outstanding. I won't recommend ordering these together, as they have almost the same flavor profile (sweet!). It's pleasant at the first bite, but each dish repeats the previous one and the sweetness eventually gets overwhelming. But this is obviously not the restaurant's problem. The menu is extensive, with most imaginable korean household dishes and many pasta one could choose from. I'm not 100% onboard with the $ or $$ on yelp, as our bill came out to be 70 pp, and that is not with alcohol involved. Anju house is apparently a good place to enjoy these dishes with some Korean soju (as indicated in their website, Anju refers to food that is consumed with alcohol)

Sweet potato fries with powder sugar
    Susan N.

Service was quick and food made fresh. Their sweet potato fries was fun snack to eat. Thinly cut, crispy, and the powdered sugar dust wasn't too much. It was a fun to eat one thin strip at a time! The pasta was creamy and savory. It had clams, mussels, scallops, and shrimp. Great dishes. Cool, chill vibe...cute outdoor seating. Would return again for another experience!

    Ambar A.

The service and ambiance was great! The food was also pretty good- nothing special but the ambiance definitely makes up for it! Great place to go and good for big groups!

This one star review is for "Nestor." The restaurant charges a 3% credit card processing fee, which was written on the receipt. Other reviews have mentioned this fee as well. Since there's a card processing fee, we paid with $50 cash for our $39 check. We asked for our change back. Nestor stated "we don't give change." We asked why couldn't we get our change back. If anything we would want our $50 back so that we can find some smaller bills within our party. Nestor immediately became defensive and started raising his voice. My. parents could hear him all the way across the restaurant. There was another table sitting near the cash register who witnessed the entire thing as well. Nestor said, "STOP TALKING. STOP TALKING. If you could just learn how to READ, it says that on the receipt." It does not say anywhere on the receipt regarding Tonchin not giving change back. We understand credit card processing fees, but if the customer pays in cash, and you don't have change, just say that you don't have change! Never been gaslit so hard by someone working in service before. If I want someone to keep the change, that should be my decision. This did NOT have to be a big deal. I have never had anyone scream in my face at a restaurant, telling me to learn how to read. Absolutely ridiculous. We ended up leaving $40 in cash and left the restaurant. We emailed info@tonchinla regarding what happened, received a call from Chris, and we explained what happened. All he said was that he wanted to "make it up to us." How, I don't know. If they can't properly educate their staff on their "cashless" policy as well as basic manners, we unfortunately won't be back. What a shame.
