I sought a second opinion from a highly qualified dentist and I only needed antibiotic mouthwash and minimal treatment. The cost was about 15% of what Dr Mahesh quoted. What a scam!

This is a disappointing review to write. First let me say I stand by my original review written in…read moreJan 2023. The work that was performed was done so with complete satisfaction. Here's where it changed. If you are in need of partials or have a long-term treatment plan with Dr. Mahesh, PLEASE be clear and make sure that she is going to "complete" the plan. I started a treatment plan in March 2024 for partials. It took a while due to my lack of insurance coverage and of out-of-pocket costs. I also needed 2 teeth extracted and some oral work on the left bottom gums to make for well-fitting partials. I wasn't referred to an oral surgeon but found one through my network and called the office and I believe it was Jacqueline (maybe Carol) that told me she's heard of him and some of their patients have gone there. I changed my insurance this year and had more coverage and on September 16th I finally had my required oral surgery. On September 25th, I saw Dr Mahesh for her to see how my gums were healing. I was told they were healing well. She asked me what kind of partials I wanted, and I advised her I didn't know there were different kinds. She gave me a little information. My appointment for the impression was scheduled for Dec 15th. I went home and did my research. THREE weeks later on Oct 16th I go in for my regular cleaning. After Patty was finished (Patty is awesome!), Dr Mahesh came in to look at my teeth. During the process I tell her I decided on the type of partials I'd like. She then makes the comment that I'm about to not like her. She then proceeds to tell me she doesn't want to make my partials. NONE of her reasons made any sense. I was just there THREE weeks ago, and you had your staff schedule my appointment for the impression. She said she didn't want to be blamed for my discomfort and how it's a foreign object so it will never feel natural and this one I love, based on what she knows about me (she mentioned my fibromyalgia) she didn't want to. I said if not you it'll be someone else and I trusted her. She tells me I need to see a specialist, a prosthodontist. I've never even heard of that. I asked her for a referral and was told she didn't know of anyone and to look on Yelp. WOW! Interesting since she told me she sees one for herself. I felt completely "abandoned". This doctor doesn't have the best bedside manner but I appreciated her work and felt she was good at explaining things to me so that wasn't that important. She was pleasant enough. Since all this happened, I was told by a previous dentist that a dentist should never ask a patient what kind of dentures they want. I was told it is "their" job to assess, evaluate and advise. Again, I stand by the original review left in 2023. I really wasn't going to do a review as I literally ran out of the office crying and wanted to just move on. But that doesn't do anyone any service. I'm stuck at the end of the year needing to pick up my treatment with someone new and try find and secure an appointment all before the end of the year to use the benefits. I rely heavily on referrals and reviews. You shouldn't just leave the good or the bad. I tried to be as productive and honest as possible. The 3-star downgrade is due to abandoning the treatment plan she initiated.

His staff are very friendly and caring about you and they answer your dental concern. I highly recommend this practice . I've never had a dentist that is so concern as Dr. Rhoades and this staff.Unlike other dental offices that where to busy to service or care of your needs in a reasonable amount of time. The hygienist and insurance processor are very friendly and efficient. The office is very clean and they even offer you a variety of coffees to enjoy while you view television in the waiting area. If you ever need a prescription renew it seldon a day wait it done within hours of you calling the office. When you book your appointment, they offer the option to be put on the cancellation list for an earlier appointment. They are kid friendly as well. The ceilings are painted for viewing during your service, and also Dr. Rhoades and the tech wiil address any fears with you. Once your xrays at complete Dr. Rhoades explain every procedure that needed and address in the order of importance to your overall health. This practice has been a blessing in my life, no fears anymore, I'm happy and smiling everytime I leave his office.

I usually go to the Virginia beach office and she would not let me see Dr Frazier in any other office and Dr Frazier would not be back to Virginia beach for several days and a whole weekend. I did not take an appointment and was appalled I could not get in for an emergency and because I was in so much pain. I was charged a no show fee for an appointment I did not have. I will NOT be returning and am extremely disappointed with the customer service of this office.

The MA who pulled me back was asking me questions I honestly couldn't answer (since it's beeeeeen years since things have been done in my mouth). She made me feel and looked at me like I was stupid. We were precious patients in 2019 and had no work done since. There was no rush, and she could have looked at the chart but didn't. Long story short they made me feel stupid, they didn't provide quality competent care. My wife called at 8:00am this morning to cancel our future appointments and what's sad is that the person who took the call didn't inquire as to why two patients are deciding to no longer seek care from your office. Honestly, we should have trusted the reviews before being seen here. Sad that they do business like this. TRUST THEIR RATING! This means do not waste your insurance/money/time here. These people promised not to do anything my insurance wouldn't cover. They put it in writing, showing what they were going to do, how much it would cost, how much insurance would cover and that my co-pay was ZERO. It had my insurance plan at the top. So when they said it was covered, I believed them. IT WAS EVEN SIGNED! Then I got a bill for over $2,000. "Oh, we don't accept Medicaid, just your Medicare." "Yes, your insurance DOES pay for what we did, but we don't accept it, sorry about that!" They said they ran it. They said Aetna said it was a covered service. I disputed the bill with Aetna- yup, I'm on the hook for it, even though Aetna sent me a letter of denial and assured me I would not be billed. Do not trust these people!! I asked PLENTY of questions and was met with assurances all around. I'm on disability and now I have to pay them over $2,000 when I could have just gone somewhere else that really did accept my insurance. This should be illegal.

I cannot say enough good things, especially about the pediatric department and Dr. Spruill! Late yesterday afternoon, we called to get our daughter seen following a playground mishap. They graciously agreed to fit us in at the end of their day. Dr. Spruill evaluated our daughter and was glad we brought her in immediately. Though we had initially been told any procedure may have to wait, he stayed well beyond closing to make sure she received the surgery she needed. He and the assistant made sure she was comfortable throughout and called back today to check on how she was feeling. They communicated easily with my husband and I, ensuring we understood what was being done as well as follow-up precautions needing to be taken. We absolutely love this practice and I have frequently recommended them to friends and family! It is clear that they truly care about their patients.
